    Farrell als opvolger Depp?Colin Farrell wordt getipt als mogelijke opvolger van Johnny Depp in ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’, van regisseur Terry Gilliam. De productie van de film werd sinds 2000 vanwege enkele kleine rampen ernstig vertraagd, waardoor Depp zich genoodzaakt zag de film te verlaten.

    Depp werd in 2000 al gecast in de rol van Tony Grisoni, directeur van een reclamebureau. Maar vanwege de vertraging en omdat hij al andere afspraken had, verliet Depp het project. Volgens de 68-jarige regisseur is Farrell één van de weinige mensen die de plek van een acteur van het kaliber van Depp kan innemen. De onderhandelingen met de Ierse acteur zijn in volle gang, en Gilliam hoopt dat hij dan eindelijk ergens volgend jaar kan beginnen met de opnames.

    Gilliam heeft al eerder met zowel Depp als Farrell gewerkt; de twee acteurs namen ieder een deel van de rol van Heath Ledger over in ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’ toen de Australische acteur begin 2008 plotseling overleed.
