Op de Facebook pagina van de film is een eerste teaserfoto verschenen voor Dawn of the Planet of the Apes van regisseur Matt Reeves. Het plaatje krijgt het onderschrift "Evolution becomes revolution" mee. Tevens verscheen er op de casting website Acting Auditions een eerste - weinig onthullende - synopsis van de sequel.
