WILLEM TELL NAAR HET WITTE DOEK

Willem Tell naar het witte doek

Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) zal voor Spyglass Ironbow: The Legend of William Tell regisseren. Het script is van de hand van Jay Wolpert, die ook verantwoordelijk was voor het script van The Count of Monte Cristo uit 2002.

Opmerkelijk genoeg zal dit de eerste Engelstalige film worden over de legendarische Zwitserse kruisboogschutter. Ondanks meerdere bewerkingen in o.a. Duitse films en Britse televisieseries, heeft dit nooit geleid tot een grote Hollywoodfilm. Begin jaren vijftig was er wel gepoogd de legende te verfilmen met Errol Flynn in de hoofdrol, maar die film is nooit voltooid.
