The Hobbit met Elijah Wood als Frodo?

Eerder vanmiddag kwam /Film erachter dat Warner Brothers wereldwijd over de distributierechten beschikt van Peter Jacksons The Hobbit. Uit dit verhaal kwam vervolgens een heel apart nieuwtje naar buiten, namelijk dat Elijah Wood (Frodo in de The Lord of the Rings reeks) ook te zien zal zijn in The Hobbit. Het volgende komt van Deadline:

I’ve learned that Warner Bros will, in fact, pay the entire cost of the two installments of The Hobbit, a price-tag that is expected to exceed $500 million. Now, the question will be which cast members from The Lord of the Rings come back for encores. I’ve heard talk of conversations with Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis and possibly Elijah Wood. I’d heard Orlando Bloom was also in talks before the holidays. Returning actors will need to be locked in shortly.

Het was al bekend dat Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis en Orlando Bloom terug zullen keren voor een rolletje in The Hobbit en gezien de tijdslijn van Tolkiens universum kan dit ook prima. In het geval van Frodo is het echter niet zo logisch, behalve misschien als hij pas aan het einde van The Hobbit: Part Two zijn opwachting zou maken.

The Hobbit: Part One moet vanaf december 2012 in de bioscopen draaien. Deel 2 staat gepland voor een jaar later.
