    George Lucas voor film met overleden acteurs?

    In de categorie "bizar filmnieuws": regisseur George Lucas, die we allemaal kennen van de met special effects overladen Star Wars-films, lijkt een stapje verder te willen zetten met CGI. Hij heeft namelijk het plan opgevat om een film te maken met een cast die deels moet bestaan uit reeds overleden acteurs. Denk daarbij maar aan Orson Welles en Barbara Stanwyck.

    Dit nieuwtje werd bekend tijdens een interview met Mel Smith. Hij werkte eerder samen met Lucas aan de film Radioland Murders. De film werd geschreven en geproduceerd door Lucas, en Smith regisseerde de film.

    Daarnaast vertelde hij dus over de film met overleden filmsterren. "He’s been buying up the film rights to dead movie stars in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together in a movie, so you’d have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck appear alongside today’s stars.’ Whether Lucas’ attempt to superimpose the golden-era stars on to today’s screens is doomed to failure or not, Smith will be too busy to be part of it.

    Het lijkt bizar: de rechten opkopen op overleden mensen, en ze met behulp van CGI weer tot leven wekken. Of de film er daadwerkelijk gaat komen moet nog bevestigd worden, maar tegenwoordig lijkt alles mogelijk.
