Altijd onderweg...

development or taking it easy
' "If you did nothing at all the world could not keep running. What would the world be without development?"
"Why do you need to develop? If economic growth rises from 5% to 10%, is happiness going to double? What's wrong with a growth rate of 0%? Isn't this a rather stable kind of economics? Could there be anything better than living simply and taking it easy?" '
Dialoog in het cultboek 'The One-Straw Revolution' (1978) van Masanobu Fukuoka,
aangehaald door David Nolens in zijn boek 'De kunst van het wachten' op p.203 (De Bezige Bij Antwerpen, 2011)*
Modern education is premised strongly on materialistic values.
It is vital that when educating our childrens brains that we do not neglect to educate their hearts, a key element of which has to be the nurturing of our compassionate nature.

life & living
There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good.
So, love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who dont.
Life is too short to be anything but happy.
Falling down is part of LIFE Getting back up is LIVING ..

Humanity will never be religious
unless al organized religions disappear
& religion becomes

Happiness
Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder ...

True friendship is based on understanding.

chemistry of mind
The chemistry of mind is different from the chemistry of love.
The mind is careful, suspicious, he advances little by little. He advices Be careful, protect yourself Whereas love says Let yourself, go!
The mind is strong, never fells down, while love hurts itself, fells into ruins. But isnt it in ruins that we mostly find the treasures?
A broken heart hides so many treasures.

Love
Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
Khalil Gibran, The Prophet

"PLANET OCEAN"
Can we imagine a film that would change the way people look at the ocean? Can we explain simply, to everyone, the greatest natural mystery of our planet? And lastly, can we help our children believe in a better and more sustainable world tomorrow?
This is the triple challenge of a new cinema adventure signed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and editor- in-chief Michael Pitiot, who brings with him the scientific missions of TARA, a unique pool of researchers, oceanographers and biolo- gists from several countries. Thanks to its astonishing photography, the film takes us on a magnificent and unprecedented journey into the heart of the least known regions of our planet.
The film narrates the most marvelous and also the most terrifying human experiences of our time. Filmed in extreme geographical conditions all over the globe, it describes the modern Odyssey of people who go out to discover their blue planet. The film is also a plea for humanity to respect the world in which we live.

Affection and a calm mind
Affection and a calm mind are important to us. A calm mind is good for our physical health, but it also enables us to use our intelligence properly and to see things more realistically. Affection too is important because it counters anger, hatred and suspicion that can prevent our minds from functioning clearly.

battle of the wolves
There is a battle of two wolves inside us all.
One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, lies, inferiority and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth.
The wolf that wins? The one you feed.
Cherokee proverb.
"In the Cherokee world, the story ends this way: The old Cherokee simply replied, "If you feed them right, they both win." and the story goes on,"You see, if I only choose to feed the white wolf, the black one will be hiding around every corner waiting for me to become distracted or weak and jump to get the attention he craves. He will always be angry and always fighting the white wolf. But if I acknowledge him, he is happy and the white wolf is happy and we all win. For the black wolf has many qualities - tenacity, courage, fearlessness, strong-willed and great strategic thinking - that I have need of at times and that the white wolf lacks. But the white wolf has compassion, caring, strength and the ability to recognize what is in the best interest of all.
