Cancer survivor Michael Douglas is set to undertake piano lessons in preparation for his role as flamboyant musician Liberace in a new biopic.

The Wall Street star declared he was disease-free earlier this week (begs10Jan11), six months after he was diagnosed with a tumour in his throat.

Douglas admitted he would have to work hard to build up his strength before returning to Hollywood after dropping so much weight during his health crisis, but he’s eager to return to work and start production on Liberace, in which he will appear opposite Matt Damon.

He said, “I lost a lot of muscle mass, so I’m going to work on that. I’m going to get my fingers ready for Liberace.”

And the actor’s been busy researching for the role.

He tells People magazine, “I’ve been watching a lot of tapes of him. He wasn’t the greatest dancer nor the greatest singer, but he was a great pianist and entertainer.”

The 66 year old reveals he will be taking lessons in how to tinkle the ivories to properly portray the late legend, but he’s hesitant to show off his distinctive baritone voice and sing on film.

He says, “We’ll see how it goes.”

"Yo Britney, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z's single is one of the best songs of all time! LOL,” Kanye wrote.

West's Tweet, of course, is a reference to his infamous Taylor Swift MTV VMA speech hijacking and to Kanye’s new song "H.A.M." (featuring Jay-Z).

While West later removed the Tweet, Spears' manager Adam Leber appeared none too impressed when he responded on the pop singer's behalf.

"Thanks for 'letting' us be #1," Leber wrote. "Much appreciated."

West later apologized for it, telling fans, "On a serious note I'm truly happy for Britney Spears. No hate in 2011... I thought LOL signified a joke."

Typically yes, but when you're a total loose cannon, sometimes the public won't automatically assume you're lighthearted or poking fun at yourself.

In any case, these guys aren't kidding about taking town Brit.

Never one to fear a change in style, Adam Lambert has debuted a new haircut.

The singer paid a visit to the 2011 DPA Golden Globes Gift Suite at Beverly Hills' L'Ermitage Hotel yesterday, posing with a few items and a few fans and showing off nearly shoulder-length locks.

Adam will be on hand at Sunday night's award ceremony and we'll likely post more photos of him from that event. But compare the new 'do with the old below and cast your vote:

Just days after Owen Wilson announced he and girlfriend Jade Duell were expecting a child, the latter has already given birth to a baby boy. The blessed event took place this afternoon in Hawaii.

Says a source close to the actor:

He "has been doing research and learning as much as he can. He's super into it and asks a lot of questions to make sure he knows what's going on every step of the way."

There’ve been a lot of headlines recently about Taylor Momsen supposedly apologizing to her parents after she blamed them for her current state. I finally got around to reading it today and they have to be joking. This doesn’t even come close to an apology. Via Popeater:

After facing backlash — from both the public and her parents, who felt “horrible” about the interview — Momsen told Kerrang, “Don’t believe everything you read about me in the press.”
“I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what they read] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth,” she said.

Whoever started calling that an apology needs to let me shoot directly them in the face then say the media made it look like I did it because that’s exactly what just happened there. Kids tossing their baby in a dumpster took more responsibility for their actions than Taylor Momsen just did. Okay, maybe that example’s a tad extreme, but then again, it’s not like they don’t assume someone’s eventually going to find the baby. I mean, how else does do so many make it on the news? It’s all pretty logical.

This is worse than the time he got kicked in the face.

Usher canceled a concert in Berlin, Germany yesterday after coming down with what is being called an upper respiratory illness, according to the singer's rep.

That's too bad and we wish him a speedy recovery. The odd thing about it, though, was that he was on stage at the time he determined he could not sing.

Ush, who has now canceled two subsequent shows as well, ended his concert early on a subdued note, apologizing to his fans for having to pull the plug ...

"After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery," his rep said.

Usher personally released a statement adding, "I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans."

"My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them all the show they deserve."

But of course! We've heard the scandalous rumors for years! Everyone knows that Mr. and Mrs. Pac-Man have a pretty tumultuous relationship. For decades, they've lived separately from one another in different arcades and they've each been battling terrible addictions. It's like they can't go one step without gobbling up more little white pills. It's really going to be an interesting show to watch.

Okay, we're kidding. The show isn't about the Pac-Man family. (Their demands were just too high for any producer to meet.)

Actually, producers at Merv Griffin Entertainment have teamed up with Namco Bandai Games America, which owns the Pac-Man brand, to develop an unscripted series based off the game and is being described as a "big, crazy Wipeout-type event with a lot of energy." Merv Griffin's president of TV, Roy Bank, went on to describe the concept further, adding:

"The idea we have is to take what Pac-Man is and bring it to life, to bring what is essentially the world's biggest game of tag to television."

What fun! Waka waka waka!

While President Obama gave his address from the Arizona Memorial Service on Wednesday, 30.8 million people tuned in!

That is up 29.23 million who watched the address on Iraq in August.

According to the Nielsen ratings, the speech averaged 30,773,369 on seven networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox, Fox News and MSNBC) when it aired live at 8:45pm.
