History Channel Pulls Katie Holmes Miniseries 'The Kennedys'
Katie Holmes' new TV mini-series about America's 'first family' The Kennedys has been axed in the U.S.
Holmes was to portray Jackie Kennedy in the History Channel's The Kennedys, but the project has been canned by network bosses.
A statement from the channel reads, "While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand.
"We recognize historical fiction is an important medium for storytelling and commend all the hard work and passion that has gone into the making of the series, but ultimately deem this as the right programming decision for our network."
The eight-part miniseries also features Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy.
Producers still plan to air the project internationally.
A statement from the producers reads, "We are proud of the work all of our talent put into the making of The Kennedys and the painstaking efforts that went into creating a drama that is compelling while rich in historic detail.

American country pop singer Taylor Swift has got a grand start in the New Year as she has been able to retain the top position on Billboard Hot 200 on the first week of the year. Her country music album titled Speak Now has sold yet another 77,000 copies in this week, which is facing slow sales. This is a 72% drop from the Christmas season sale but still it rules the top position.
Other popular albums like Susan Boyles The Gift, Christmas compilation of Glee and Jackie Evanchos O Holy Night have made their exit from the top 10 list. They have the second, third and fourth slots vacant for Eminems Recovery, Rihannas Loud and Nicki Minajs Pink Friday.
Kanye West, Katy Perry, Daft Punk and Bruno Mars have returned to the top 10 ranking with their My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Teenage Dream, Tron Legacy soundtrack and Doo - Wops & Hooligans respectively.
West has made it No 5, 6th position has gone to Daft Punk, Bruno has moved to No 7 and Katy Perry at No 9.
Contrary to false reports that have been floating online, our beloved Glee is not doing a Justin Bieber- themed episode.
The show's creator and executive producer, Ryan Murphy, exclusively tells PerezHilton.com, "Glee is NOT doing a Justin Bieber tribute episode. We are not doing any more of those this season. Those are reserved for artists with a big catalogue, ala Madonna and Britney, etc."

Lawyers for Beso LLC said in a federal Chapter 11 filing on Thursday that they project losing more than $76,000 per month at the CityCenter restaurant and nightspot.
Lawyers say Beso owes nearly $1.8 million to CityCenter for its lease at the Crystals mall inside the resort complex.
CityCenter is owned jointly by MGM Resorts International and Dubai World.
Longoria owns nearly one-third of the business but is also listed as an unsecured creditor.
Lawyers report she gave a cash loan of just over $1 million and paid $375,000 in legal fees.
