Vandaag was een speciale dag. Dit in een aantal
opzichten. Hetgeen waar we het meest mee strijk hebben gelegen en wat we amper
konden geloven is het volgende.
Lennert was de voorbije dagen druk bezig
geweest met het zoeken van airbnbs om te kunnen overnachten op onze Garden
Route. In Mossel Bay had hij een huis gevonden van een zekere Wilheim. Wilheim was
nog maar twee maanden lid van Airbnb en zei dat we zijn eerste gasten zouden
zijn. Hij accepteerde ons verzoek om er 3 nachten te verblijven en stuurde een
document met huisregels door (om jullie wat leeswerk te besparen, vooral puntje
3 is de moeite waard):

1 The house at this stage is a lock up and go
concern. This means that our clothing are still in the cupboard in the main
bedroom. There are still a lot of space in the cupboards and you could easily
make space for your own stuff.
2 The cupboards in the other 2 rooms should be
empty except for extra blankets.
3 The beds are un made, there is enough linen
in the 3rd down stairs toilet cupboard. I see you have a lot of girls with you,
let them make the beds while you enjoy a cold beer. Just bring some cold beers
with.
4 Speaking about cold beers, you will have to
stock up. The fridge is off. The mains are off, the main swithboard is in the
garage. It works on a pre paid system. There should be enough units available,
and a R200 recharge should be sufficient.
5 Switch the geyser and all other plugs on.
6 There is a patio braai with all utensils in
kitchen.
7 I will arrange with the Estate Manager Bettie
Moolman to assist you with anything else. I will arrange the keys with her or
at the security gate.
8 There should be enough coffee, tea and sugar
in the kitchen cupboards
9 The patio table and chairs are all in the
garage.
10 Upon leaving, I will arrange for a cleaning
service.
11 If you need DSTV, the best is to bring your
own decoder and smart card. The smart cards are not interchangeable anymore.
But I am sure you guys want to enjoy the area and not the DSTV.
12 This is a self catering house, but there are
numerous restaurants to visit in the area. The house is beautiful and there for
you guys to enjoy.
I had a look at your place in Antwerpen (i
think) and I know from all the reviews that you will be looking after the
place. Working on the code.

Na deze grappige huisregels (althans volgens de
jongens), moest het meest hilarische deel nog komen. Na acceptatie van ons
verzoek, konden we de volledige naam van de huisbaas lezen: Wilheim Steyn!!!!!! Deze man bleek onze professor van gynaecologie
te zijn! Ook zijn foto beaamde dat! En we wisten
eigenlijk ook dat hij in Mossel Bay woonde, geen twijfel mogelijk dus! We kwamen niet meer bij van het lachen. We kijken al uit om een paar dagen te kunnen
vertoeven in zijn stekje!
Donald en Sofie volgden vandaag de yoga- les
van Nadia. Als je denkt dat dit een les is om te ontspannen, ben je goed fout.
Bij elke oefening kregen Donald en Sofie pijnscheuten en krampen in elke spier.
Het was eerder een marteling dan een anti-stressmiddel. Gelukkig hadden ze nog
de avond om naar uit te kijken!
Met zijn allen, inclusief Jakob, Eline en
Corine, zouden ze naar Century City trekken om bij pizzeria Panarottis pizza
à volonté te eten! We aten veel te veel! De Chicken Mayo viel wel niet echt
in de smaak, maar van de Avocado pizza konden we niet genoeg krijgen. Om er
helemaal over te gaan, deelden Michiel en Donald nog een ijsje en Jakob
bestelde een koffie -wat hij zich de dag later beklaagde, omdat hij niet in
slaap geraakte. Dit had echter ook te maken met zijn volle buik, die we allemaal
ervaarden toen we in bed lagen-.
