It was quite the spectacle when Snooki and Sway took over MTV News' red-carpet coverage at last night's Grammy Awardsbut nothing was more spectacular than the moment when Snooki and Miley Cyrus became instant besties, right on camera. The "Jersey Shore" star and pop-country princess ran into each other before the show began, and what ensued was no less than a total love-fest.
Spotting Snooki during her interview with Sway, Miley broke off mid-thought to shriek, "OH MY GOD IT'S SNOOKI! You're my favorite person ever!"
Fortunately, Sway was savvy enough to step aside and make way for some epic girl-crush gushing:
Snooki: You look amazing! Miley: I love your sparkles, you're feeling the sparkles! I was talking to Pauly about how much I love you, and how my makeup artist and I are obsessed with you. Snooki: Your makeup is freaking amazing! Miley: She wants to do your makeup so bad! Snooki: What are you doing after this? Miley: We need to hang!
And there you have it: Miley Cyrus and Snooki are totally BFFs. But after another round of complimentary one-upping ("I love your dress!" "I love YOU!" "I LOVE YOU TOO!"), things get just a little awkward when Snooki asks if Miley is still planning on dressing like her for Halloween...and Miley hesitates a moment before confessing that actually, she's going to go as Fran Fine from "The Nanny" this year.
Awww. And things were going so well.
Got any predictions on the longevity of the Snooki-Miley lovefest?
Whoâs That Girl?: Eminem & Dr. Dreâs Grammy Collaborator Skylar Grey
Whos That Girl?: Eminem & Dr. Dres Grammy Collaborator Skylar Grey
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Skylar Grey was the unsung hero of the Eminem-Rihanna-Dr. Dre collaboration at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, singing in the shadows as the Detroit rappers performance turned from Love the Way You Lie to I Need A Doctor, but she loved every minute of it.
It was amazing, the Wisconsin-bred singer/songwriter told reporters backstage at the music awards ceremony. Ive never played on a stage that big with an audience that vast.
Still, the pretty brunette said she had no qualms about performing in front of a worldwide audience of millions on the Grammy stage alongside some of musics elite.
I wasnt that nervous, actually, she said.
Skylar actually wrote Rihannas part in Love The Way You Lie, and she hinted that her lyrics were inspired by Eminems rhymes.
It was pretty [much] what Eminem wrote his verses about, she said of the chorus. Not as extreme, but same concept.
Skylar also penned the refrain she sang in Dr. Dres I Need A Doctor, having met both Dre and Eminem through her work with Alex Da Kid. Additionally, she co-wrote Diddy Dirty Moneys current hit, Coming Home.
I wrote the chorus to Love The Way You Lie and then he asked me to come and work on Dr. Dres album too, she explained backstage.
Skylar, a newcomer to the Grammys, explained her background to reporters backstage at the event.
I was born in Wisconsin and I started performing at age 6, performing with my mom, we had a little duo and I started writing songs with lyrics around 14, Skylar recounted. By the time I was 15, I had three independent albums
[I] dropped out of high school, moved to LA when I was 17, got a record deal and they didnt really know what to do with me, she laughed.
As for her future, now that Skylars been exposed to millions, her plans remain the same.
Im working on solo material right now with Alex, she added.
Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky: Together, Happy!
Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky: Together, Happy!
It there's trouble in paradise, newlyweds Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky weren't showing it at amfAR's annual New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC.
The AIDS research foundation honored Chelsea's father, former President Bill Clinton, and the notoriously private couple went out on the town for the occasion.
Here's the longtime couple at the event, looking happy as ever ...
Chelsea and Marc at the event late last week.
This followed weeks of rumors that Clintons husband of less than a year had left her after he quit his investment banking job and went to Wyoming to ski.
Recent reports claimed their marriage was over, albeit not officially, after Marc walked out on Chelsea following a blowout fight about starting a family.
Chelsea and Marc denied the rumors, and after seeing the pair together in happy, it looks like this might have been nothing more than that. Rumors.
It's very possible Marc was burned out and needed time off from work, while Chelsea was just too busy to go to Wyoming. Let's hope that's all it was!
Once again, Justin Bieber fans have taken their love of this artist to a disturbing extreme.
For the third time - first, regarding Kim Kardashian; then, in reaction to Justin's relationship with Selena Gomez - Beliebers have actually issued death threats against someone with whom they take issue.
In response to Esperanza Spalding taking home the Best New Artist Grammy last night, Bieber followers edited the singer's Wikipedia page to include such horrific entries as "JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE." The page has since been scrubbed clean, but here's a look at it from last night:
Fans would do well to follow the reaction of their idol, who Tweeted after the event:
Its been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset...yes. But I was happy for her also. Someone said to me tonight its not your successes that define u but your failures. I lost..but I don't plan on this being my last chance.
It's also difficult to argue with Spalding's talent. Just listen to THIS PERFORMANCE she gave at the White House. Rather incredible, isn't she?
If the First Lady of the United States were asked to consolidate her Valentine's Day advice in one word, Michelle Obama's choice would be easy: Laugh.
She says it's what she and President Barack Obama do, and it seems to work.
Through all the ups and downs and changes wrought by family, careers, relocation, campaigns and more, the Obamas' marriage is going on 19 years.
"I think a lot of laughing," the First Lady said this weekend at a White House luncheon with reporters who asked about the secret to the Obamas' union.
"I think in our house we don't take ourselves too seriously, and laughter is the best form of unity, I think, in a marriage. We still find ways to have fun."
"A lot of it is private and personal. But we keep each other smiling and that's good," Michelle Obama added, saying that Barack is "very romantic."
"Got to keep the romance alive, even in the White House," she said.
After skipping out on the red carpet, Beyonce Knowles was spotted inside the Staples Center venue in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday (February 13).
The If I Were A Boy singer looked glamorous in black as she greeted fellow Grammy Awards attendees including Gwyneth Paltrow, Usher and Janelle Monae.
Beyonce was up for two Grammy awards this year for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her single Halo" and for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for Lady Gagas Telephone - which she is featured in.
Unfortunately, Miss Knowles went home empty-handed after taking home multiple trophies the previous year.

He had a killer performance with Usher and Jaden Smith at last nights Grammy Awards, but Justin Bieber ended up losing the Best New Artist Grammy to Esperanza Spalding.
And the One Less Lonely Girl singer wasnt afraid to express his disappointment over the loss.
He told MTV, "I had no clue what was going to happen; I worked really hard these past few years and you know, I'm not going to lie I was disappointed." Bieber told MTV News
Keeping his chin up, Justin added, "But, you know, I'm gonna come back [next year] and we'll take a few home."
Of his performance, Bieber shared, "I got a standing O, which was amazing. Usher and Jayden did incredible, and I'm really excited. Tonight was an amazing night."

There were so many unexpected moments at last night's 53rd Annual Grammy Awards that are bound to go down in the history books (hello, Lady Gaga's egg!) that the Twitterverse exploded with talk of the memorable ceremony. With an array of amazing performances to choose from, it seems Cee Lo Green's duet with Gwyneth Paltrow (and puppets!) of "Forget You" (pictured) got the most love from viewers. Amongst its famous fans were Emma Roberts, who tweeted, "Gwyneth Paltrow #myhero #epic" and Austin Nichols, who posted, "#Grammys I gotta say, Cee Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow, Muppet back-up singers. Sick. I love you, Gwyneth." Kim Kardashian joined the chorus of those who dug the number, as she wrote from her page, "My fav part of the night was Gwenyth Paltrow! Her performance with CeeLo was crazy! And her jumpsuit was amaze." Meanwhile, Carson Daly had a fine idea for the soul singer and the Oscar winner/"Glee" guest star, "I sorta wanna see the gweneth/cee lo green sitcom. They're roomates and break into song at breakfast."
While Cee Lo somehow walked home empty-handed from the Grammys, indie rockers Arcade Fire most certainly didn't, as they snagged the night's biggest prize, Album of the Year. The win may have been an upset, but nobody seemed too upset about it on Twitter, including the band members themselves, who excitedly told followers, "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. Thank you EVERYONE." They weren't alone in their joy. Case in point: gracious Grammy losers like Paramore's leading lady Hayley Williams who told the group, "So proud and happy for Arcade Fire!! Wow wow wow" and Maroon 5's front man Adam Levine had his faith restored when he rejoiced, "Arcade fire won album of the year. There is a GOD!"

Between J.Hud's sleek look, Florence's offbeat but beautiful swan, Selena's classic look, Nic's surprising stunner and Lea's sexy gown, these celebs brought the glam to the red carpet. Which star hit the highest note?
Charlie Sheen blasted the people behind "Two and a Half Men" on a live radio interview today -- claiming THEY are to blame for the current stoppage in production ... because HE'S ready to work!
A raspy -sounding Charlie called in to "The Dan Patrick Show" this morning and explained he lost his voice because he tried to go back to work ... and was yelling and banging on the stage door ... but nobody was there.
Sheen explained, "[The execs] said 'You get ready and we'll get ready' ... and I got ready and went back and nobody was there ... I don't know what to tell ya."
He added, "I'm here and I'm ready. They're not. Bring it."
In fact, sources connected to the show tell TMZ the plan is for Charlie to get better -- which is why the show went on hiatus in the first place -- and then production will resume on Feb. 28.
Sore Loser Alert! Justin Fans Accused of Hacking Esperanza After She Kicks His Butt at Grammys

Someone alert the American Medical Association, because we've just discovered another side effect of Bieber Fever: an inability to lose graciously.
As the world knows by now, jazz artist Esperanza Spalding beat out some notable contenders to take home the Best New Artist award at the Grammys last nightnone more notable than Justin Bieber.
So what did the Bieber faithful do in response? Shrug their shoulders? Mouth "who?" at the TV screen? Tweet congratulations to Esperanza? Hack into her Wikipedia page and edit in a slew of mean girl amendments in a classic case of junior high revenge? Ding, ding, ding.
Not long after Spalding made her way off the podium, and the collective eyebrow raise had once again been lowered, did Bieber's minions (working on no command from their fearless leader, it must be said), headed en masse to the Wikipedia page of the 26-year-old and turned the best day of her life into something else entirely.
So what mature, measured and well-articulated tweaks did they make to her page? Oh, you know
"JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?" read one change.
"SHE IS F--KING REATARD THAT NO ONE HAS HEARD OF SO BITCH PLEASE DIE!" read another.
"Recently, she won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist at the 53rd Grammy Awards by stealing it from Justin Bieber once again proving how little the awards mean," went yet a different tweak.
Others changed her middle name alternately to either "Justin" or "Quesadilla." You get the idea.
However, not everyone who took to Spalding's page last night (and early this morning) were after Esperanza.
"Bieber fans have recently hacked this page because they have nothing better to do with their lives," read an early morning edit.
True, Spalding does not yet have a hit documentary to her name, but on that last point, we can think of one person who might argue. PresidentBarack Obamahimself handpicked the classically trained musician to perform in Oslo when he picked up his 2009 Nobel Prize. He obviously liked what he heard: she was invited to the White House the same year to perform during a poetry jam hosted by the president and Michelle Obama.
So, let's weigh this fan base thing up: the ruler of the free world, vs. a bunch of angry, moody free time-accumulating teens. Yep, Esperanza's the winner, all right.
As for Bieber, he seems just peachy, if a tad disappointed, with his loss.
"Of course I wanted to win," he tweeted. "Its been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset yes. But I was happy for her also." As evidenced by his backstage congratulatory message.
