Welkom op de Blog van en voor de deelnemers aan de maandelijkse sessies Genealogie in het Lokaal Dienstencentrum Speltincx te Gentbrugge onder de leiding van de werkgroep met als coördinator Jo Goddemaer. De sessies gaan door op de 1ste en de 3de donderdag van de maand.

Naamgeving vondelingen
Op 7 mei 1834 werd in vondelingerolle te Gent een kind gevonden van ongeveer 6 weken oud. (folio 3369) Op de achterkant van een bijgesloten leveringsbriefje van olie stond "Johannes Cherie geboren in het Vroedvrouwen huys bijloke op 19 maerte i834." (sic) Dit kind werd op 9 mei ingeschreven als Carolus Ceriez (akte N° 557). Op 19 mei is het kind overleden (akte N° 530). Op datum van 18 maart 1834 vinden we de geboorteakte N° 333 van Carolus Ceriez geboren in de provinciale Vroed Kundige School in de bijloke op 17 maart, zoon van Melania Ceriez (pater ignotum). Ik kan tot op heden geen verder spoor meer vinden van Carolus Ceriez of Carolus Jaxx (Jaxx latere echtgenoot van Emiliana). Gaat het hier in beide geboorteakten over dezelfde persoon volgens jullie? In bijlage de betreffende akten: 1) geboorteakte vondeling Carolus Ceriez. 2) vondeling folio 3369. 3) overlijdensakte vondeling Carolus. 4) geboorteakte Carolus Ceriez zoon van Melania (Emiliana). Reactie: een stomme vraag misschien "heb je al gegoogeld vondelingen in Gent" ? - Ik herinner mij dat Roland Verbeke via betalingen aan de pleegouders voor de opvang van de vondeling toch andere dingen heeft ontdekt !
