Toen Martin twee jaar terug ging verhuizen en een groot deel van zijn duiven verkocht, had niemand verwacht dat hij alweer zo snel aan de top zou staan. Welliswaar behield hij alle jonge duiven van 2009 en werden ook nog twee rondes jongen gekweekt voor alle oude duiven weg gingen, maar dat hij zo snel weer mee zou doen hadden veel concurrenten in elk geval niet verwacht.
In 2010 werd met jaarlingen gelijk een 2e en 3e NPO La Soutteraine gepakt. Dit jaar wint hij op 2 warme en loodzware vluchten met kopwind onder meer een 1e, 17e, 16e, 19e, 55e enzovoorts Provinciaal Mantes la Jolie tegen 8.049 duiven maar ook 2e, 22e, 51e enzovoorts Provinciaal Orléans tegen 6.036 duiven.
Stamopbouw
In 2005 en 2006 kocht Martin diverse jongen bij hardvliegende hokken uit de regio. Bij deze duiven zaten drie supers, te weten:

Ook kwam Martin in contact met Piet van de Merwe uit Dordrecht en Koen Minderhoud uit Westkapelle. Piet van de Merwe werd een vriend van Martin, en later werden ook veel duiven met gesloten beurs uitgewisseld. Martin bekwam ze uit de lijnen van de '500', 'Sofie', 'Femke', 'Blois doffer' enzovoorts. Van Koen Minderhoud kocht De Poorter ze uit 'Blauwe 522', 'Zoon Daniël 568', 'Asduif 933', 'NPO-duifje 226', 'Zoon Barney 784', 'Geschelpt 553 van '04' enzovoorts.
Spelmethode
Martin hanteert het totaal weduwschap en de duiven moeten wekelijks de mand in, van de eerste tot en met de laatste vlucht. Hierdoor selecteren de duiven zichzelf, enkel de besten worden nadien behouden. Zorgen dat ze aan de kop van de uitslag verschijnen! Keihard en Spartaans spelen en selecteren resulteerde op enkele jaren tot een brede en sterke kolonie ! Zowel de doffers als de duivinnen moeten hier flink de baan op, er blijven geen partners thuis.
De jonge duiven worden verduisterd en ook serieus de baan opgestuurd, in principe alle vluchten. De eerste vluchten meestal nog bij elkaar, tegen de tijd dat de NPO-vluchten beginnen en het oude duivenseizoen ver afgelopen is, worden de geslachten dan gescheiden en wordt er op de deur verder gespeeld.
Vanaf het spenen tot een maand voor de eerste vluchten wordt er medisch niets gedaan ook niet voor het geel. Degenen die dan qua gezondheid of qua bouw door de mand vallen worden gedurende deze periode al gelijk uitgeselecteerd. Eén maand voor het seizoen worden ze gecontroleerd door de duivenarts en mankeert er wat, wat zelden voor komt wordt naar zijn advies gehandeld. Dat deze methode zijn vruchten afwerpt blijkt wel gezien de resultaten van de laatste jaren en de geringe verliezen.
DreamPigeons
Op DreamPigeons zal Martin van 25 oktober tot 5 november 6 jonge duiven uit zijn allerbeste vliegers/kwekers aanbieden. Daarbij zitten onder meer verschillende jongen uit de 'Rauwdouwer' een fantastische alleskunner. Op 30 juli deed Martin mee aan de ZLU-vlucht vanuit Narbonne, voor het eerst waagde hij zich aan een vlucht van die afstand (ruim 900 kilometer). Hij gaf slechts drie duiven mee, maar die stelden hem niet teleur. Twee prijzen werden gewonnen en de NL09-3909367 'Rauwdouwer' viel 's ochtends om 8.13 uur en won de 82e Nationaal tegen 3.968 duiven. Deze weergaloze klepper had op de eendaagse fond ook al laten zien tot wat hij in staat is: 2e Prov. Orléans in 2011, 24e NPO La Soutteraine in 2010 en 25e NPO Orléans in 2009!
Ook biedt Martin iets aan van NL09-3909427 'Black Label' 2e NPO La Souterraine 2.899 duiven en 1e Provinciaal Mantes la Jolie tegen 8.151 duiven! Over toppers gesproken!
Friday, another week gone by... Before you know it another week has gone by, if think about I realize that spending time with Linda and the kids is very important. So tomorrow there will be time for the family again. Tobias has to play a soccer match and let's hope he and his team to as good as last week (the won 1-4)... My favorite local football team (Haaglandia) plays Saturday evening in Emmen, to far for me so Linda is lucky Sunday I will have all day with her and the kids. Let's go to the beach to catch some fresh wind and hot choco after that.....

I am sure Paul ownes one fastest strains of birds for short and middle-distance races in Holland!!! He just won the first championship on the middle distance against around 900-1000 competitors over 6 races. PAUL GROENEVELDhas been cultivating his family of racing pigeons for over 40 years! They have been bred and raced to win in the middle distance as young birds, which makes them ideal to enter in the BIG One Loft races and specialty races! To make a long story short they are basically Janssen X Tournier X Schaerlaeckens based. Paul competes in a very large combine in the Netherlands where he routinely wins against 11K to over 14K birds per week. It is not uncommon for him to win 1st and 2nd against 11K birds and then repeat those performances the following week with just as many positions. He rarely sells birds in the Netherlands, his reasoning common sense as he does not want to compete against his own birds.
