They have some needs, the best thing to do is to discuss with them what they want. However, I can tell you what their primary needs are.
The tents that I sent are good, but it is very hot under the tents. They need a 3000 watt generator and about 20 fans. Each fan is .9 ampere. The electricity is 110 volts. Therefore .9 x 110 =99 Watts per fan. 20 Fans x 99 Watts is a total of 1980 Watts. Since it is not good to run a generator at 100% capacity, a 3000 watt generator would run at 66% capacity to drive 20 fans. They can buy the generator and fans locally. I have not received the estimate yet, but I am guessing that it might cost $4,000 to $5,000 US when the generator, fans and wiring are all included.
They need books to read, not textbooks. For example books that will get children to read in French. Personally, I believe that all children love Tintin, Lucky Luke, Asterix, Strumph books because there are words and pictures. They don't even know that they are learning to read. Some people might disagree with that. Also some regular french literature suitable for young readers, and books for little children too.
Also, they will tell you that they need help paying the teachers. Undoubtedly this is correct.
As far as delivering the money I am happy to assist you. Because I give money to several individuals in Haiti a few years ago I got my own accountant. He manages an account in Haiti for me which I fill by sending bankwires. When I send him instructions, then he writes a check to whatever individual I tell him. When I travel to Haiti, I photograph the bank account register, and that way he and I keep our checkbook in balance. So if you wish you can send me money and I will have it paid in Haiti to whomever you specify.
