Look! My very first manga review!
At first I wanted to write about Fake, my all time favourite manga, but... I don't own all the volumes yet, so I thought it would be better to wait with that manga. Then I wanted to write about Wild Rock, because my lay out is based on that manga.
But eventually I choose for Brother, a one-volume scanlated manga.
As you might have guessed, Brother is about... 2 brothers and before I hear you screaming: "Oh! No! Incest!" Asuka and Yui are brothers indeed, but only because their father and mother got remarried and remarried each-other. That's how they became brothers, but they are not brothers by blood.
StoryI'm not going to tell too much about the story, because I hate spoilers and don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but this is yaoi-manga and I guess you can all figure out where the story will lead to. Mainly the manga is focused on the relation between the two brothers. Nevertheless, it never gets boring. There are ups and downs (yeah, literally ^_-) and most important of all: the artist made an effort to make the story believable. I like that when reading manga.
CharactersThe main characters are Asuka and Yui. Asuka is the oldest, 22. Yui is 16 and pretty hot, but they grow during the manga (... errr... No comment!  ) and if I'm not mistaken Asuka is 24 and Yui 18 at the end of the story. I'm not going to tell too much about them. You'll have to find out more about them by yourself ^_^
Drawing-styleI have to admit, I had to get used to the drawings at first, but it only took me a couple of pages. The characters are skinny and tall and somehow a bit stiff ( NO! I didn't mean it that way! *hehehe*), but it's pretty well drawn and it suits (for lack of better word) the story.
ConclusionI liked it and the hot and steamy scenes? Well they are hot and steamy! ^_^ Worth reading/downloading and definitely 18+

Mijn eerste manga-bespreking! Eerst wou ik deze maken over Fake, aangezien dat mijn favoriete manga is, maar aangezien ik nog niet alle nummers heb, dacht ik dat het toch beter was om daar me te wachten. Toen wou ik Wild Rock bespreken, omdat deze manga aan de basis ligt van mijn lay out, maar uiteindelijk is het Brother geworden, een ééndelige scanlated manga.
Zoals je uit de titel al kan afleiden gaat Brother over... 2 broers en voordat er iemand begint te schreeuwen: "OH NEE! Da's incest!", moet je weten dat Asuka en Yui wel degelijk broers zijn, maar enkel omdat hun respectievelijke vader en moeder met elkaar hertrouwd zijn. Zo zijn ze broers geworden, maar ze hebben niet dezelfde ouders.
Het verhaalIk haat het te weten wat er exact gebeurd in een verhaal en wil er daarom ook niet veel over kwijt, maar aangezien het hier om yaoi-manga gaat, denk ik toch wel dat jullie min of meer kunnen raden wat er uiteindelijk zal gebeuren. Hoofdzakelijk gaat de manga over de relatie tussen de twee broers. Niettegenstaande dat, verveeld de manga op geen enkel moment en blijft boeien. Er zijn ups en downs (yup, letterlijk ook! ^_^) en heel belangrijk, de schrijfster heeft het verhaal toch geloofwaardig gemaakt. Dat heb ik graag in een manga.
PersonagesDe hoofdpersonages zijn Asuka en Yui. Asuka is met zijn 22 jaar de oudste. Yui is 16 en 'pretty hot', maar ze groeien... ( Eh.... Geen commentaar! ). Als ik me niet vergis is Asuka op het einde van de manga 24 en Yui 18. Meer over deze personages ga ik niet verklappen, dat zul je zelf moeten ontdekken! ^_^
TekenstijlIk moet toegeven, de eerste pagina's moest ik een beetje wennen aan deze tekenstijl, maar lang duurde dat niet! De personages zijn lang, dun en een beetje houterig, maar het past op de één of andere manier wel bij het verhaal en het is eigenlijk wel goed getekend.
Conclusie
Ik vond het goed en de 'hot and steamy' scenes waren.... hot en steamy ^_^ Zeker de moeite waard om te lezen/downloaden en zeker 18+ |
