De eerste taartvlucht 2011 vanuit De Meern mocht plaats vinden op een mooie nazomer dag. Afhankelijk begon de dag met wat mist en een sterke Oosten Wind op de lossingsplaats. Om kwart voor elf waren de omstandigheden flink verbeterd en de wind iets bijgedraaid naar zuidoost. De duiven werden dan ook op dit tijdstip gelost.
De ruim 2.000 duiven hadden een super vertrek richting Lelystad Workum Zwaagwesteinde Groningen Nijverdal, al hadden de late jongen duidelijk problemen met de omstandigheden en moesten zaterdagavond nog een redelijk aantal nakomen. Door de mooie zomerdag op de zondag hebben er veel het hok weer kunnen bereiken.
De top van de uitslag werd beheerst door het noordoosten van de afdeling Friesland, met als grote uitblinker Johnny van der Bei uit Twijzel, die met late jongen de eerste zes van de totale uitslag voor zich opeiste tegen 1.181 duiven die deelname aan het prijsvliegen.

In search for the very best pigeonstrain in the whole world our eyes felt on the fantastic fancier Gaston Van De Wouwer from Berlaar in Belgium.
The legendary "De Kaasboer" (bred by Jozef Goovaerts) has been the alfa and the omega for Gaston Van De Wouwer - a true gentleman in the pigeonsport of today. With these fantastic pigeons and his fingerspitz-gefühl he has achieved amazing results the last 10 years - based on this extraordinary foundationcock "De Kaasboer".
That's why we decided to base our breedingloft on this family - that's why we decided to create GvW Denmark.

That I am a big Paul Groeneveld fan is no secret for the guys who visit my website on a regular base. I am sure Paul own one of the strains of birds for short and middle-distance races in Holland!!! He just won the first championship on the middle distance against around 900-1000 competitors over 6 races. Its the first time in 40-50 years that one person won this competition for the fourth time!!! Again the ultimate proof that this birds are something special for sure....
PAUL GROENEVELD has been cultivating his family of racing pigeons for over 40 years! They have been bred and raced to win in the middle distance as young birds, which makes them ideal to enter in the BIG One Loft races and specialty races! To make a long story short they are basically Janssen X Tournier X Schaerlaeckens based. Paul competes in a very large combine in the Netherlands where he routinely wins against 11K to over 14K birds per week. It is not uncommon for him to win 1st and 2nd against 11K birds and then repeat those performances the following week with just as many positions. He rarely sells birds in the Netherlands, his reasoning common sense as he does not want to compete against his own birds.
