Rescueing animals in Spain

Sooo Mausie had an appointment today at the vetclinic at 11.30

In the car you could see she really was not interested in going.

Once at the clinic, we put a catheter, anaesthetised her with propofol and I brought her to the X-ray room.
There were several X-rays taken in different positions and what we saw was not what we had hoped for... the fracture was not consolidated.

From there we went to the Operation theatre and while cleaning and preparing the leg we talked it over.
One external fixator was removed as it was loose. And Juan opted in removing another fixator that was starting to come loose.
The ROM (range of motion) of the leg was tested again and completely normal.

Decision was taken to wait till Tuesday, do new X-rays and then decide if 2 new fixators will be put in or not.
Leg was cleaned, disinfected and bandaged.

But Mausie had another problem as you will remember...she has too many teeth as she did not loose all her milk teeth

So advantage was taken from the fact that she was already anaesthetised to make some small cuts and remove those teeth.

Once it was all over she received an antibiotic injection.

Then is was time to relax and wait for her to wake up slowly.
Thanks to the propofol this goes quite quick and the animals don' t suffer from it.

So Mausie was sleeping close to her Friend Mouse but once waking up almost tried to jump away... I was of course close by and therefor she continued to wake up into my arms.

We were already back home around 13.40 and she continued to dose off in the sofa...

and later on at 16h went for a siesta in the afternoon where the Missy was allowed to sleep on my bed

Meanwhile she is already her old self again, has been playing with Balou the cat and the dogs and we already went next door to the neighbours Tony and Lin (who often look after her when I have to go away) and explained the situation.

Next Tuesday we will see if the fracture has moved or not and if new fixators are necessary.

Of course I will do anything for her to keep her leg...

Till now we have 0 (zero) godmothers or - fathers, no adopters at all from a distance oe elsewhere.
