I spend all weekend at a Veterinarian Congres learning everything there is to know on Emergency situations & Intensive Care.
With every course I do, I get smarter and am better prepared to help any animal in need. Surely intresting when you live far away from any veterinarian help or when you are away in the mountains for example...

PS. Of course I came home to sleep as I promised Boomer to never leave him alone overnight... wink emoticon He is my top priority !!!

What do I say ?     

I was so happy yesterday that the tests showed that Boomers heart, although old and enlarged, would still be strong enough for the operation for his partially ruptured ACL.(in case the other path would not be sufficient)

But just now I received the results of his blood and urine analysis, which is worse than ever before... his CRF is continuing to distroy him

I just try to do what I think is what I have to do for their health and safety.

And sometimes you have no time to think about it and then I do what I do without thinking about it. 

Yes, I know you should not keep sisters of the same litter ! I never wanted to !

Yes, I know about jealous behaviour or whatever possible behaviour of animals and dogs.

Yes, I know what the big trainers say, let them fight it out and all the other suggestions etc...

Yes, I did all the instructorcourses succesfully, psycological and behaviourcourses...

Still, I do what I want to do, when I want to do it and sometimes you have NO CHOICE !!! 

TODAY I had NO CHOICE...

Mausie was bothering Gipsy and Gispy just gave a groul to Mausie as she has been doing a few times, just to tell Mausie to stop !

Only this time Gipsy sister Cheyenne was standing aside her (Cheyenne and Mausie are very close)  and she wanted to correct Gispy and responded to Gipsy, and the sisters got, after a silence of almost 2 years, into a fight with each other.

No... there was no bucket of water nearby and I was not going to hit them with anything... so I decided to do what I have done before...

Yes I have seen what fighting dogs can do, and I know how high the bill can be at the vets afterwards... and WE DO NOT have that kind of money. 

So I intervened and tried to separate them. Mausie and Boomer ran away and Tommy bit Cheyenne in the behind trying to help me to separate them.

My hands got mixed up and in the end we all got hurt... Gipsy and Cheyenne both had to be put asleep to get a few stiches, not from biting each other but from Tommy trying to separate them.

YES I KNOW IT WAS STUPID !!!

Spare me your comments on how I should have handled it. I know what the books say, I know what I should have done but still... I did not.

I don' t want any sympathy, I just have always been honest in what happends here... the good and the bad ! 

The girls waking up at the vetclinic: 

— looking for a wheelchair...

Of course I informed the vetclinic and brought her in for observation while Iwould go to the Clinic in Alicante to get some acid injected in my knees... a yearly treat  

As she was acting normal for the rest she was allowed to go home with me in the afternoon (after getting some antibiotics injected)

My "help"... is often not a real "help" and gives me even more work to do 

This food should have been kept away from the horses as it was hot, but Cubanito of course got in where he should not be able to get in !!!

But once I got her I got a shock... poor chickie 1 foot paralysed from being tangled up in a wire

Yoehoe we have good news !!!! all is still OK although at home she does not use her leg, she does use it at the vets...

Less good news is that the girl is not losing her baby teeth... so she will have to be anaestesized and needs an intervention
