STAR WARS: THE EXHIBITION:
Upon entering the magic world of Star wars, visitors are immediately immersed into the Star Wars
universe as huge landscape images are projected to recreate the
atmosphere of a particular world. Different exhibition zones walk you
through the worlds of Tatooine, Naboo, Endor, Hoth, Coruscant, Kamino,
Geonosis, Kashyyyk, Utapau and Mustafar.
In addition, visitors will find a projection room featuring a documentary on 30 Years of Visual Effects,
which reveals just how far this art has come. Optical illusions,
picture overlays, pyrotechnics, stunt tricks, and other visual and
special effects are also explained in relation to the Star Wars films.
STAR WARS: THE EXHIBITION gives visitors, movie lovers
and Star Wars fans a unique opportunity to learn and discover some of
the secrets behind the making of this epic Saga.
And meet The Rebel Legion(a.k.a. the Legion) a Star Wars fan club
celebrating the movies using costumes and props, in particular those of
the hero or good guy characters but also The 501st Legion ("Vader's Fist") a fan-based organization for
people who own and proudly wear the costumes of the Stormtroopers (and
other Imperial characters) from the Star Wars movies.

Alle sinds voor alle rockers wiens liefje verkikkert is op Eurozwans. Of ze winnen ginderachter of niet, het doet er niet toe. België kicks @ss at least, you Europussy's.
Nu nog even wachten of ze mogen gaan.

Ik kreeg een leuk mailtje / pic in m'n mailbox en plots wist ik wat ik vanavond ga lezen. Hij heeft al te lang verwaarloosd gelegen op mijn te lezen stapeltje. Thx Bart 4 the reminder !! Een echt meesterwerk uitgegeven door Vertigo. Ten tijde van populaire lynchpartijen op de zwarten, durfden sommige dappere journalisten de strijd aan gaan tegen deze wanpratijken. Zo ook onze hoofdrolspeler Zane Pinchback, wiens broer onschuldig (?) in de gevangenis beland en klaargestoomd wordt voor verhanging. Meer inhoudelijk schrijven dan wat de uitgever opgeeft, is eigenlijk niet nodig.

Holland Herald barely escapes with his life after his latest
'incognegro' story goes bad. But when he returns to the sanctuary of
Harlem, he's sent to investigate the arrest of his own brother, charged
with the brutal murder of a white woman in Mississippi. With a lynch
mob already swarming, Zane must stay 'incognegro' long enough to
uncover the truth behind the murder in order to save his brother - and
himself. He finds that the answers are buried beneath layers of
shifting identities, forbidden passions and secrets that run far deeper
than skin color.
Het leuke aan het verhaal is dat ze niet komen aandraven met moraliserende zever (ja, weten hoe erg en verwerpelijk dat allemaal was). Het verveelde je géén enkel momenten en er zitten daar een paar knappe plotwendingen in, zeker voor de toen heersende tijdsgeest. De tekening zijn tevens van een hoog niveau, alhoewel ik me bleef fixeren dat David Lapham hier beter werk voor had kunnen leveren. (Je bent nu éénmaal fan of niet.)
Kort: Een prachtig en boeiend Graphic Novel die zeker niet mag ontbreken in je collectie.
