Hi, I'm Thierry. I live at the end of the world in Dominica (Commonwealth). My property is not to far from the beach with a large garden.
I would like to create a dry forest botanic garden and also an organic vegetable garden.
This Ecolodge is using solar electricity and harvesting of rain water.
I'm looking for volunteers to help with these projects, but also to assist in building the lodge.
There is gardening, landscaping, concrete, gardening, carpentry, tiling, gardening, electrical, painting, gardening, plumbing, swimming pool, diving, long chair, gardening, hammock, (the kitchen I often reserve except dishes;-)) and plenty of other things like .... gardening. You tell me what you like.
I'm only engineer (and in electronic), so when i created the "Kabane" it was Spartiate, efficient but not cosy.
Also I need help to paint or decorate the bungalows. You'll probably immediately tell me "ohh, with that there it will be nicer". That's what I mean "The Artistic Touch". If you have that .... you are also welcome.
Even to rebuild the frame of my blog, I don't find time, I keep it for later, when somebody will want to do it.
So plenty opportunities to enjoy.
And I hope you'll improve my English ;-) .
About the work time, the website proposes an average of 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, however in Dominica it's not really efficient. Because, even if the island is very small, the distances, to discover this marvelous island by buses, are too long to do something in the afternoon. So I propose 3 working days of 8 hours (Mon, Wed, Fri) with a long nap during the beginning of the afternoon (often too hot) and the rest of the week free.
You'll have your own bedroom, your meals, and free access to Wifi internet.
You'll probably enjoy the swimming pool warmed by a solar heater, for the long evenings ;)
When i'm not building my Ecolodge, I spend my time guiding tourists in the forest and diving in one of the best preserved sites in the world; I also enjoy preparing delicious dishes. Sometimes I'm flying (with wings and an engine) in Guadeloupe, but it's unfortunate I do not get the opportunity to do it as often that I would like; but I'll find a solution to that.
