You have no idea
how much that money is helping us! Because
of the rain last year, no one was able to cut hay, so
as you know, we couldnt get any. Then at the of
the dry season, we got the best hay I had ever seen in Costa Rica. It
lasted a couple deliveries and then the quality of the hay went down and
down. Then it got scarce, so the price got more than double, but we had to pay it. Then the hay was
gone completely. No one in the country has hay right now. Our
vet told us to feed them rice straw and not knowing what to do, we got some
delivered. They ate it, but kept losing weight. Our vet said that
is what he is feeding his horses, as
its better than nothing. No one had pastures yet because it hadnt rained enough. So we fed the
rice hay along with their normal grain
and corn, but they kept losing weight. Finally, out of desperation, I ordered alfalfa mix pellets imported from
Spain. This stopped the weight
loss, but it cost a fortune every week! Finally, just a few days ago, on the 15th, I convinced our
neighbor in the fairy pasture that Jana
and I went in, to let us rent it. So, finally they have some
grass. Paying for that expensive alfalfa
from Spain was really breaking the bank,
so the donations are greatly
appreciated! Please let everyone know. We are still experiencing the effects of the last rainy season when no
one could cut their hay. It caused everyone to run out of hay very
quickly. I
cant wait until you get here. Counting the days! Vicki
IEDEREEN DIE DONEERDE OF IETS KOCHT; DANK JE WEL!
