FALL OUT BOY star PETE WENTZ cannot understand why people label his band's music "emo" - because he considers songs by rappers like KANYE WEST and LIL' WAYNE to be better suited to the genre.
Wentz admits he is a fan of hip-hop music, but would reclassify certain rappers' work as "emo" - emotional rock - because some tracks are more heartfelt than those of Fall Out Boy. He tells rap magazine XXL, "The most emo music that's come out over the last year has been rap - everything from the new Jay-(Z) record to Kanye. Lil' Wayne is pretty much emo. Everyone who kinda delves in deep enough (is emo)."

FOBR Journal happy thanksgiving to those of you that are addicted to turkey- whatever to the rest of us who never would have sent blankets with smallpox in them around as gifts. tour has been great outside of a few of us being sick and having a broken foot. just wanted to put the word out on the streets/the internet. there is no pete wentz sex tape in existence. about a year and a half ago i took part in an indie gore/horror short film as a favor to my friend nathan- called goodnight moon. either way im not into being an actor or having a sex tape either sooooooooo, hopefully u can deal with it.... see you soon.

Ashlee Simpson seems to be on Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz's arm wherever he goes, and we're wondering what effect that is having on the group as a whole? It's just not very 'rock n' roll' to have your frontman taking his girlfriend to gigs, photoshoots and even on the tour bus. While we think they make a cute couple, we're just worried that Ashlee is almost becoming a member of the band, and that she might start demanding to have a say in the direction they take artistically. We're not sure that's completely healthy. What do you think?

Ashlee Simpson Mothers Injured Pete Wentz

Pete Wentz is getting some loving care from girlfriend Ashlee Simpson as he nurses his broken foot back to health.

"When I'm being hard-headed and I don't want to elevate it, she says, 'No, put it on the pillow!" he told PEOPLE at his bar, Angels and Kings, in New York's East Village. "When I try to get in the shower by myself and am going to end up falling on the hotel room floor, she's good at stopping me."

And while Wentz, 28, judged the "Vive le Karaoke" contest, sponsored by Hilfiger Denim and Nylon Magazine, he lamented his choice in foot braces – a black "rocker boot."

"I jumped off a ten-foot stack [of speakers] ... and I broke my foot," the Fall Out Boy bassist explained. Doctors told him he could either wear a "rocker boot" for six weeks or a "hard cast for three weeks."

"The rocker boot sounded really enticing," Wentz admitted, "But I didn't realize that it does not rock at all."

During the competition, Wentz gave celebrity photographer Jamie McCarthy high marks for his karaoke – 8 out of 10 for his "rock moves" and for "not using the photos where I look like I have a fat face."

He also mentioned that in Japan, where he first "embraced karaoke," he performed Metallica and Bon Jovi. "People go into it with no ego there. When somebody comes in and is really good, it is kind of a bummer. If you're crummy, just go for it," said Wentz. Simpson – by his side all night – chimed in that, if she were to take the stage, she would perform "Janis Joplin."

Ashlee's Big Bauble

For the second time in four months, speculation is mounting that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz may soon vow to stay together until death -- career or otherwise -- do they part.

The latest round of nuptial nattering comes from FOXNews.com, with a spy claiming the remodeled popster was "absolutely glowing" while showing off a "big diamond" ring at a Los Angeles soiree a couple of weeks back.

"Friends kept coming up to her and deliberately looking at the ring before hugging and congratulating her," tattles the conclusion-leaping mole. "There was definitely something very special going on."

What's more, Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, supposedly "couldn't keep their eyes off each other" at the party, although perhaps they were just making sure their eyeliner wasn't smudged and their flat-ironed coifs stayed perfectly straight.

"Ashlee is pretty convinced Pete is the one," a Simpson confidante reveals to FOXNews. "I am sure she is ready to move into the next stage of the relationship as soon as the time is right."

When contacted about the ring rumblings, Ashlee's spokesman told MSN Entertainment, "We do not comment on our clients' personal lives."

Back in July, however, her rep insisted to Us Weekly that rumors the Fall Out Boy bassist had popped the question before he hit the stage for Live Earth were "absolutely not true."

What's more, just before that first round of engagement whispers surfaced, Wentz assured In Touch, "No wedding bells for me in the future," although he did concede, "I have never met somebody who makes me feel the way she makes me feel."

FOB ROCK JOURNAL

November 02, 2007
so as many of you know i broke two bones in my foot a couple of days ago in new orleans. i think the universe owed me one- so ill take it. they gave me an option to have a hard cast for three weeks or the “rocker” boot for six. a hard cast probably would have ended tour so we opted for the rocker boot so we can keep the show on the road. unfortunately the rocker boot does not allow for much rocking. haha. more updates soon.

until then travis told me some bloggers have been posting a song that tyga did for him.. i guess alot of people are wondering what tyga even does- well you can check it out here: www.neonghosts.blogspot.com- i am trying to download it and get it over on tygas myspace too.

Clandestine Industries was formed in 2004 with the release of a book created in childhood nightmares, "The Boy with the Thorn in His Side," a journey through the twisted subconscious of a younger Pete Wentz. Clandestine Industries Grand Opening

Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy held a signing for the grand opening of his clothing store Clandestine Industries in Chicago Saturday, October 20th 2007
If you arrived passed 9:30am you couldn’t miss the store, for there was a string of Clandestine/ Wentz fans standing all the way down West Newport. The line was chaotic and the “L” track that everyone was under just contributed to the noise. Shortly after 10 am the line slowly began to move, but came to a halt when ABC news trucks pulled up around 12:30 pm (to get footage of the event). Fifteen minutes after the scheduled time of the event a black SUV drove into the alley accompanied by screams of, “Oh my god! It’s Pete!” Cameras began to flash, Joe Trohman (guitarist of Fall Out Boy) stepped out first. Wentz followed, accompanied by girlfriend Ashlee Simpson. Soon after security came out and went over rules; only one item could be signed per person, you could take photos of Wentz but not with him, and the line had to move quickly because of the number of fans. The first 100 fans were let in first and were the only ones allowed to buy items from the store. It was told beforehand that only the 1st 100 fans would be the only ones to meet the bassist, but after the 100 came out, they let in four fans in at a time. The store’s slightly small the design is white crisp walls with black trimming, wooden floors and hanging above a black beaded chandelier. The words "This Machine Kills Fasion-ism" were bold in black on the wall above the shelves. The items were hung on wooden hangers and shelved in neat piles on black metal shelving. Outfits were displayed on mannequins with sleeves knotted at the ends. The store front had frosted windows with a black batskull heart Clandestine logo on the main window. The door reads,

clandestine [klan-des-tin] industries:

CHARACTERIZED BY, DONE IN, OR EXECUTED ITH SECRECY OR CONCEALMENT,
ESPECIALLY FOR PURPUSE OF SUBVERSION OR DECEPTION.

Wentz ,Trohman and joined later Marc of Gym Class Heroes sat behind a black check out counter under 13 shampoo bottles shelved above (the place used to be a hair salon). Both signed and greeted fans. After the signing, about 20 dedicated fans waited by the back of the store in the alleyway to catch another glimpse of Wentz. Most fans had left and were off to Fall Out Boy’s The Young Wild Things Tour, held at the Allstate Arena in Illinois also that night. The ones that continued to wait were not disappointed. Overall, the signing was pretty rushed. There were hundreds of people there, and they wanted to get everyone through the line. Some fans left with one of the four exclusive, hand-numbered shirts, limited to 250 each only two were sold per-person, these shirts are only sold at store. For the rest, the store is open and they can come back anytime and purchase the latest in Clandestine. - CashDolla Industries

New photos! Fall Out Boy attend and perform at Hennessy Artistry Finale Event - October 10th 2007

Yesterday October 9th 2007 Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy held his meet & greet at Sam Ash on Sunset in Hollywood California for the launch of his Fender Bass. Well everything wasn't so sunny on the set. The poster star bassist was feeling sick that afternoon and still went through with the event, a good call considering the line of fans down and around the corner of the building. Around 5:15 kid after kid in groups of 30 came in and got close to Wentz, taking pictures and exchanging hugs. Some of the fans had the Fender Bass and one lucky fan won a bass from a contest they also had held that afternoon. But apparently from FOB message boards, MySpace posts and word of mouth, some kids came back caring his little bug and are feeling the aftermath today. For some of these fans there probably pretty stoked they caught the (PTD) Pete transmitted disease.(hahaha) For others its soup and rest for them. Wentz was all smiles most of the time and met every fan in line. The security was low and fans were even allowed to stay inside and take photos. Some fans waited out back as Wentz headed to the car to get another glimpse, say goodbye, and thank him. The event overall went well and it looked like everyone left with a smile. - CashDolla Industries

I know this has nothing to do with Pete, but i just wanted to let you guys know that Dirty cut his hair! He had posted a my space bulletin yesterday saying he was thinking of shaving off his hair, but he didin't shave it all off after all. He just posted a bulletin telling everyone to check out his new hair cut, and I think his hair cut is sophisticated looking but it looks great on him! Check out the photos at his myspace here

the first ever clandestine store opens in chicago on oct 20th. these are what the shopping bags look like. there will also be four limited edition shirts- hand numbered 250 copies of each. only sold in the store.



keep the lights on
they have shut off the internet and all international calls in burma as the government brutally dehumanizes the people there. i know this is a small effort but maybe we can make a collage of a bunch of us with light bulbs- our show of solidarity- that they cannot turn the lights out. the world will be watching (as usual please excuse the mullet and suspenders- er the paint i dont even know whats going on with that).

no real update here.
so tired.

i just wanted to say that i have been speaking with some people in uganda and reading (up on where we shot the "me and you" video). its been amazing to see that there are now peace talks going on again. i saw amazing pictures of villagers smashing the huts in displacement camps and preparing to move home- it sent chills down my spine. it feels good to be a part of something even if its just being a small part of something. our voices are being heard. there is a long way to go. but it feels great, as we now know some of the people living there. keep voting for the video and showing it to people!

this of course is contrasted by what i had later read about the situation in burma which has gotten so much worse. the government there is a brutal dicatorship- 100,000 monks engaged in peaceful protest and have now been forced inside their temples by soldiers. the government has now cut off international calls and internet there. there is an attempt to keep this all in the dark. i want to go there. anyway if you get a chance read up on it.

more on the band and the YWT soon. new ideas are brewing- a dvd is in the works. get your tickets soon before scalpers are selling them for waaay too much.

Earlier this week, Rolling Stone caught up with Pete Wentz during a stop in New York, hoping just to see what was brewing in the mind of the Fall Out Boy bassist. The majority of them being children (38,000). This is the longest running war in Africa, between the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the government of Uganda. 1985 – 2007 (22 years) CURRENT SITUATION: There are peace talks at the moment, resulting in the absence of night commuting and abductions are relatively non existent. The peace talks take place in Juba, Sudan. WHAT IS OUR GOV. DOING: Largely influenced by Displace Me, our gov assigned a senior diplomat to oversee the peace talks in Juba. But we need to push them to stay involved.
