Line Them Up!


Yesterday October 9th 2007 Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy held his meet & greet at Sam Ash on Sunset in Hollywood California for the launch of his Fender Bass. Well everything wasn't so sunny on the set. The poster star bassist was feeling sick that afternoon and still went through with the event, a good call considering the line of fans down and around the corner of the building. Around 5:15 kid after kid in groups of 30 came in and got close to Wentz, taking pictures and exchanging hugs. Some of the fans had the Fender Bass and one lucky fan won a bass from a contest they also had held that afternoon. But apparently from FOB message boards, MySpace posts and word of mouth, some kids came back caring his little bug and are feeling the aftermath today. For some of these fans there probably pretty stoked they caught the (PTD) Pete transmitted disease.(hahaha) For others its soup and rest for them. Wentz was all smiles most of the time and met every fan in line. The security was low and fans were even allowed to stay inside and take photos. Some fans waited out back as Wentz headed to the car to get another glimpse, say goodbye, and thank him. The event overall went well and it looked like everyone left with a smile. - CashDolla Industries

Dirty cut his hair....


I know this has nothing to do with Pete, but i just wanted to let you guys know that Dirty cut his hair! He had posted a my space bulletin yesterday saying he was thinking of shaving off his hair, but he didin't shave it all off after all. He just posted a bulletin telling everyone to check out his new hair cut, and I think his hair cut is sophisticated looking but it looks great on him! Check out the photos at his myspace here

the first ever clandestine store opens in chicago on oct 20th. these are what the shopping bags look like. there will also be four limited edition shirts- hand numbered 250 copies of each. only sold in the store.

they have shut off the internet and all international calls in burma as the government brutally dehumanizes the people there. i know this is a small effort but maybe we can make a collage of a bunch of us with light bulbs- our show of solidarity- that they cannot turn the lights out. the world will be watching (as usual please excuse the mullet and suspenders- er the paint i dont even know whats going on with that).

no real update here.
so tired.

i just wanted to say that i have been speaking with some people in uganda and reading (up on where we shot the "me and you" video). its been amazing to see that there are now peace talks going on again. i saw amazing pictures of villagers smashing the huts in displacement camps and preparing to move home- it sent chills down my spine. it feels good to be a part of something even if its just being a small part of something. our voices are being heard. there is a long way to go. but it feels great, as we now know some of the people living there. keep voting for the video and showing it to people!

this of course is contrasted by what i had later read about the situation in burma which has gotten so much worse. the government there is a brutal dicatorship- 100,000 monks engaged in peaceful protest and have now been forced inside their temples by soldiers. the government has now cut off international calls and internet there. there is an attempt to keep this all in the dark. i want to go there. anyway if you get a chance read up on it.

more on the band and the YWT soon. new ideas are brewing- a dvd is in the works. get your tickets soon before scalpers are selling them for waaay too much.

One of our site visitors named Denise Miller sent in a photo of her daughter Elise with Pete from the DKNY launch in Washington. Her daughter is ill and hasn't attended school in two years. Pete agreed to meet her without the large crowd in the green room, She said he was a real sweet heart and even though Pete had a cold he was still nice to everyone!

Pete wentz talks Fame, New Fall Out Boy Songs & One Hilarious Emo Gag.

Earlier this week, Rolling Stone caught up with Pete Wentz during a stop in New York, hoping just to see what was brewing in the mind of the Fall Out Boy bassist. Among Wentz’s insights: Fame means watching where you put your fingers. “I can’t pick my nose at stoplights — which I do anyway,” he says. “That’s what window tints are for.” And while despite his growing stardom, he’s feeling pretty tame these days (“In a weird way, I’ve become domestic. I don’t feel the need for everybody to know everything about me”), he’s been somewhat inspired by the self-destructive impulses of the Lohans and Spears of the world. The band’s upcoming Young Wild Things tour takes its name from a classic kids’ book, but “There’s also a play on words of the young wild thing idea that everybody has with Hollywood and starlets right now.”

Also, Fall Out Boy are working on some “folky sounding” material for their next album. “We just wrote those songs in the back of the bus with an acoustic guitar. I’m not really sure what will happen with them,” Wentz says. “There’s one about some friends who ended up in crazy strip club in France, which is a cool song.” When the subject turned to emo, Wentz, amazingly, didn’t challenge us to a fight — in fact, he sounded pretty good-natured about it. “I get what people are saying with the eyeliner and the girl pants and this and that. Hopefully, [emo] is more than just a T-shirt slogan. Hopefully some of us bands are able to grow and become bigger than emo,” the bassist said. Wentz also talked about a visual gag we seriously hope that FOB will still put into play sometime: “For a long time, we talked about playing in front of a giant banner that said ‘EMO’.” If you’re emo, you might as well be in on the joke.”

i know much of our new video focuses on a narrative- a love story between two ugandan teenagers- but we also wanted to make sure that we got some of the facts on the situation out there:

FACTS:

Approx. 70,000 people abducted. The majority of them being children (38,000).

This is the longest running war in Africa, between the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the government of Uganda. 1985 – 2007 (22 years)

CURRENT SITUATION: There are peace talks at the moment, resulting in the absence of night commuting and abductions are relatively non existent. The peace talks take place in Juba, Sudan.

WHAT IS OUR GOV. DOING: Largely influenced by Displace Me, our gov assigned a senior diplomat to oversee the peace talks in Juba. But we need to push them to stay involved.

DISPLACEMENT: Approx 1.6 million people were forced into Displacement camps 10 years ago.

what can we do: write our congressman and direct people over to invisiblechildren.com to see for themselves.

we want to make this absolutely clear- ic is a very transparent organization. you can see where each of your dollars is going towards. also, we again made no money off of this video at all. any excess budget from the video will be donated to future IC projects.

please help us get this video on TRL it means more to us than any other visual project we have been involved in.

alright, all the heavy stuff out of the way. two new ways for you to be involved with some FOB stuff.

we are looking to put together a great fob photobook that spans the entire time of the band. if you have a great photo wed love to include it. you will receive credit in the book as well maybe some free gear. the kind of photos we are looking for are ones of the band or band members only in either live settings or candid moments- any black and white or "artsy" ones would be great. if you have one please email (email them one at a time and not huge sizes please!) to: falloutboypictures@gmail.com - please dont send multiple attatchments or pics of your moms cousins dog and andy in a picture together.

in other news last night patrick and i sat with an acoustic guitar and just wrote. probably wont ever see the light of day but it made me feel real again.

i cant say much more.
i am so proud. its rare when you really realize how blessed you are. thank you very much for voting for GCH when they won the room went nuts. people were screaming and crying it was insane.
we had the best time in our suite. it felt like the old days when we played very small shows. all of our friends were there i havent seen it on tv but i hope it came across that way.
also, there were a bunch of songs we taped that didnt air- including: carpal tunnel, beat it and cobra and panic played a new song! i hope they show it in some of the re-airs.
we are in new york already. sorry if this entry is jumbled i am so tired.

i am so happy to be a part of something like this, that feels so real.
we spoke to eachother today. everytime we win an award or get some kind of recognition we really feel like we should pay our fans back. this time we were thinking of playing some unannounced shows in cafes and really small places- but maybe acoustic this song and play some old covers and that kind of stuff. well see. but we have plans.
also on fuse watch out, we are tring to convince them to let us play some really old songs.

ill try to get some sleep.
just sat in patricks roon and listened to him play new songs. it is insane to be around someone with such talent. i feel completely in awe of him. i dont think youll be disappointed.

Pete: It's 'Crazy' Kissing Best Friend Ashlee

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson looked like music's most romantic couple at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas this weekend – and it wasn't just for show. "We're past the honeymoon period," Wentz told PEOPLE. "The truth is, it's crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It's just a really awesome thing." And Wentz gets the paternal thumbs up from Ashlee's dad, Joe Simpson. "He's a good kid," Joe told PEOPLE.

Wentz also insists that the couple's affection for each other is very real. "People like to make it seem different than it is," he said Saturday of their relationship. "People will say 'No one holds hands that much.' But I'm like 'Why would you not want to touch the person that you're in love with? '" As well as performing with his band Fall Out Boy, Wentz was in town to an unveil a wax sculpture Saturday afternoon at Madame Tussauds at the Venetian for the Xbox game Halo.

Later Wentz and Simpson, in a short black dress that opened at the back, were spotted at a VIP table at GQ's event at Jet Nightclub. The couple turned in early, leaving others in their party including her father and Wentz's fellow band members, well before midnight. Las Vegas, Wentz admitted earlier, was not his favorite place.

"When I'm here for more than eight hours I feel like my soul is dwindling," he said. While at home in Southern California, "we hang out in the Valley 90 percent of the time because nobody bugs you over there," he said. "I don't need to go out for a photo op."

ahhh las vegas. havent slept in god knows how many hours. we apologize for those who tuned in to fahsion rocks expecting to see us. we were booked on both the VMAS and fashion rocks and were only allowed to play one- we happened to be booked on the vmas first so thats what we ended up doing. the show still seemed pretty rad. we are rehearsing like crazy here. dont forget to go over to the gym class website and vote for them as best new artist!!!!

Perhaps it was was his dour expression, tatted-up arms or curious eye makeup -- but Ashlee Simpson's main man must have looked a little suspicious at LAX yesterday -- as he was pulled aside for an extra-special security pat down. Fall out of line, boy!

Wentz, who will be performing at this weekend's VMAs in Las Vegas, was frisked by a guard after being singled out -- for some reason. Are the precociously adorable singled out for frisking?

FOB ROCK JOURNAL

ahh finally a computer that works. it feels like drinking a cherry coke after youve been on a desert island for a year- or whatever. the around the world tour was amazing. should see some funny reading and leeds photos and video around the net soon. alos we WON two teen choice awards. we were on a twelve hour flight and werent able to be there- but let me tell you we were jumping up and down in the aisles when we heard the news! until the flight attendants were like "um sir that is not acceptable behavior". our acceptance speeches were cut short by the seat belt sign coming on. it got us talking about how far weve come. i mean patrick is a full on producer, clan and dkny jeans partnership, joetrohs riffs, and andys drum company. we are so proud. its rare when we actually have moments where we stop and think about it. truly thank you for letting some scummy asshats from chicago the chance to do all of this. up next is the vmas! we are pretty excited for that too. we are back in full on writing mode right now. dunno when if ever a new record will come out but keep your fingers crossed.

finally saw an edit of the "me and you" video- it actually hurt my head watching it. its heartbreaking. currently it is way too long but we cant think of what we can edit out. maybe we will put out the video in two forms not too sure right now.

anyway, get back to searching the internet for andy/joe slash- i apologize for the interruption.

p.s. keep checking us out over at trl- i have a little birdy in my ear that tells me that all of the label litigation is finally over and well be able to do some stuff with fuse on the new video! also, some tour dates have gone on sale so go grab your tickets for the fall tour now before scalpers get them and jack the prices up!

Wentz: Honestly Ash is for me

Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz is being honest for the first time in his relationship history after falling for Ashlee Simpson.

Previous partnerships saw the emo rocker impatient with his squuezes and untrustworthy in his behaviour. But now he believes he's met his match with gorgeous Ashlee. He told me: "This is the first relationship I've been in when I've been honest with the person. There's something that has to be said for two people who are doing something creative. Lots of time you can feel like you're baby-sitting someone in a relationship. I've been in relationships when I've signed autographs for fans and the person would get really jealous. There's a story on the internet saying Ashlee is like that, but it's just insane. She would never do that."
