Zelfbeheersing
Er was eens een jongen met weinig zelfbeheersing. Zijn vader gaf hem een zak spijkers en zei tegen hem dat elke keer dat hij zijn zelfbeheersing verloor, hij een spijker in de achterkant van de schutting moest slaan. De eerste dag sloeg de jongen 37 spijkers in de schutting. Over de volgende paar weken, toen hij leerde om zijn kwaadheid onder controle te krijgen, werd het aantal spijkers wat hij in de schutting sloeg geleidelijk minder. Hij zag dat het makkelijker was om de zelfbeheersing dan al die spijkers in de schutting te slaan.
Uiteindelijk,kwam de dag dat de jongen zijn zelfbeheersing niet meer verloor. Hij vertelde dit en zijn vader stelde voor dat de jongen nu voor elke dag dat hij zijn zelfbeheersing behield hij een spijker uit de schutting haalde. De dagen gingen voorbij en de jongen was eindelijk zover dat hij zijn vader kon vertellen dat alle spijkers waren verdwenen. De vader nam zijn zoon bij de hand en liep met hem naar de schutting. Hij zei;Je hebt het goed gedaan,mijn zoon, maar kijk nu eens naar al die gaten in de schutting. De schutting zal nooit meer hetzelfde zijn. Als je dingen zegt in woede, dan laten ze een litteken achter net als deze gaten. Je kunt iemand met een mes steken en het mes er weer uit trekken. Het maakt niet uit hoe vaak je zegt dat het je spijt, de wond zal er blijven. Een verbale wond is even erg als een fysieke wond. Vrienden zijn een kostbaar juweel. Ze laten je lachen en moedigen je aan om je taak te volbrengen. Ze lenen je hun oor, en ze geven woorden van lof en zullen altijd hun hart voor je open stellen. Vergeef me asjeblieft als ik ooit een gat in je schutting hebt achter gelaten

You could go on a boat, Through sparkling waters, Made out of the shell of a tortoise. Sit in the ring where the fairies all sing, Drink, dance, fairy fling. Diddle on the fiddle, play fairy in the middle, Sparkle, shine,drink buttercup wine. Tis not far, you must believe, Just follow the voice from within.
A place where few can go or tell Follow the stream to the fairy dell. Wings of silken lace, help them rise, Upon the breeze of perfumed skies, And in the place where the wee ones play, Are made the flowers and the sunbeam's ray. Captured in the fairy cup, Each dewdrop is to gently sup.
The creatures they all sing along To the merry little fairy song. Dancing round on tippy toe, They flash their colours just for show. Their magic is a secret thing, As they sit around the fairy ring.
The great tall trees are their best friends, Guard them from where the forest ends. And on the days when the sun is bright, They catch the shadows and cast down light. 'Tis then you'll see the magic true, Placed on the ground for me and you. And as the branches gently rustle, Behind the petals the fairies bustle.
With a flash of light they rush away, from vision of man. They stay, When all is quiet, all is calm, They flicker within the sheltered balm, To gently float once again, And twinkle in the dripping rain.
Each fairy has, so they say, A pointed ear on which they lay, To hear what roots of trees might say. The roots feel deep, and know it's true, When we approach, the me and you. The Fairies realm, is for a few
But you will know when elves invite Your chance to see the fairy sight For those who search for fairy ground With good intention just and sound Do not disturb this little place Just look at the magic of their face Their pointed ears and wings of lace The fairies live quietly secure Amongst themselves, in a World that's pure. They know your mind, it won't deceive A fairy if you don't believe!
Hold your breath and close your eyes, Squeeze all the magic from inside. Step through the circle that time defies, And journey into wonderous skies. It's time to dance, it's time to sing, Enjoy the peace that fairies bring. See their world through eyes of wonder, And on their beauty you may ponder. Go deep within the wooded ground, 'tis there the secrets can be found. Enjoy your journey, that begins right here. Close your eyes, and have no fear.
Er zat een klein engeltje op mijn schouder, en zij fluisterde heel zacht. Zij fluisterde over licht en over liefde, en over de sterren in de nacht.
Zij fluisterde dat ik goed moet blijven luisteren, naar dat wat ik van binnen voel. En me niet te laten misleiden, naar dat wat me afhoud van mijn doel.
Zij fluisterde over eigenwaarde, en vooral mijzelf zijn. Me af te sluiten voor nare energieën, want die doen alleen maar pijn.
Zij fluisterde 'blijf jezelf vertrouwen', laat je innerlijke onrust verzachten. Door je gidsen, door je naasten, en vooral je innelijke krachten.
Zij fluisterde dat ik niet meer moet vechten, omdat ik zijn mag wie ik ben. Met al mijn gebreken, maar ook mijn goedheid, het leukste mens mag zijn dat ik ken.
Toen ik wakker werd met een vredevol gevoel, en aan het engeltje moest denken. Herinnerde ik mij meteen de waardevolle boodschap, die zij mij in mijn droom kwam schenken.
