Elijah Burke goes to TNA
BURKE NAAR TNA
Source: The Wrestling Observer
According to sources, former WWE star Elijah Burke has signed with TNA Wrestling and will be debuting in the company soon with a new ring name.
Burke had a tryout match with TNA back in late May in a match with former WWE developmental wrestler Shawn Spears who spent time briefly on the Smackdown brand.
Both got rave reviews by TNA officials following their match. Jeremy Borash also hinted recently on his official Twitter page that "Elijah Burke" would not be coming to TNA, seeming to suggest that he would be coming in under a new name. Burke was released by WWE in October 2008 and has recently spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling (a former developmental territory for WWE) where he got his start.

Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitor Sheamus def. Goldust ECW Champion Christian def. Zack Ryder in a non-title match
BALTIMORE At Sundays Night of Champions, Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer to reclaim the ECW Title. Tonight, the two Superstars meet face to face for the first time since that night. Will the old friends shake hands or throw fists? And when will Dreamer enact his rematch clause? These questions and more are answered on tonights ECW on SyFy.
Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill (w/ Katie Lea Burchill) (PHOTOS) On last Tuesdays ECW on Syfy, Paul Burchill attacked newcomer Tyler Reks after the California native defeated him fairly in the ring. This underhanded assault was clearly still on Reks mind as he walked down the aisle for his rematch with The Ripper. Displaying an aggressive side that we have yet to see from the young competitor, Reks took Burchill from pillar to post and made him pay for his classless act. With another decisive victory over the Englishman, Reks has shown the WWE Universe that hes not just some laidback surfer dude hes an intense Superstar worth watching.
Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitor (PHOTOS | WATCH) Tonights local competitor shouldve known better than to step in the ring with Vladimir Kozlov. The 6-foot-8, 302-pound Soviet Cyborg made short work of his outmatched opponent, plowing through him with the intensity and power of a Russian tank. Unfortunately, Kozlovs hapless opponents terrible night didnt end there. After Kozlov pinned the man, the monstrous Ezekiel Jackson stormed into the ring and began beating on the fallen competitor the same thing Kozlov did after Jacksons match last Tuesday. Clearly, these two runaway trains are on a very dangerous collision course.
Sheamus def. Goldust (PHOTOS) The explosive Irishman named Sheamus continued his winning ways with an impressive victory over Goldust. While the peculiar veteran utilized his unorthodox offense to challenge the newcomer, the self-proclaimed Celtic Warriors scary strength and unmatched aggression were simply too much for The Bizarre One to handle. With a streak of impressive wins, the pale brute is quickly making a serious impact in ECW.
ECW Champion Christian addresses the WWE Universe (PHOTOS | WATCH) Days after defeating Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Championship at Night of Champions, Christian returned to the Land of Extreme with the gold over his shoulder and a smile on his face. But while Captain Charisma spoke about the importance of his victory, he was interrupted by Tommy Dreamer. The ECW Original informed Christian that he wanted his rematch next Tuesday and the contest would be an Extreme Rules Match.
ECW Champion Christian def. Zack Ryder in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH) Immediately after he was informed that he will be defending his newly won ECW Championship against Tommy Dreamer next Tuesday, Christian had to step in the ring with rising star Zack Ryder. Still, Captain Charisma was able to keep his mind on the aggressive Long Island native. Ryder displayed his trademark viciousness and put up an amazing fight, but the ECW Champion outmaneuvered him and scored the victory with a Killswitch. Will Dreamer be able to avoid the same fate next Tuesday?

Mark Henry def. Carlito ("Beat the Clock" Match) Divas Champion Mickie James, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim def. Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes & Alicia Fox MVP vs. Chris Masters (double count-out) ("Beat the Clock" Match) United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. The Brian Kendrick Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes (time expired) ("Beat the Clock" Match) Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero (Blindfold Match) Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger ("Beat the Clock" Match) John Cena def. The Miz ("Beat the Clock" Match) Cryme Tyme def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show (disqualification)
WASHINGTON, D.C. Shaquille ONeal knows how to make an impact and not just because hes a 7-foot, 325-pound Goliath. When the NBA icon accepted the honor of being Raws celebrity guest host, he stunned the packed Verizon Center by announcing that his first order of business would be to stage a series of Beat the Clock Matches to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship.
Cryme Tyme def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show by disqualification; Shaq shoved Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) In light of his confrontation with Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show at the top of the program, Raws special guest host Shaq handled himself like a professional as special outside enforcer while Jericho & Show battled Cryme Tyme. Even as Show administered back breaking moves and pointed to Shaq, the NBA great kept his cool.
When the match ended, however, thanks to Show relentlessly bludgeoning them and refusing to let up, thats when Shaq made his move. He challenged his equally colossal tormentor and shoved him outside of the ring. As the Verizon Center erupted in cheers, Shad & JTG joined Shaq to celebrate.
John Cena def. The Miz; Cena to face WWE Champion Orton at SummerSlam (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before his match against John Cena, The Miz did what he does best: Talk smack. The cocky Superstar assured the audience that he would prevent Cena from advancing to SummerSlam as the No. 1 contender for the WWE Title. Once the bell rang, however, it was time to back up his words with action thats when things unraveled. Miz failed to endure Cenas STF and instead chose to tap out. After the match, WWE Champion Randy Orton stepped into the ring and stared down the man who longs to take away his title at SummerSlam in four weeks.
Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger (PHOTOS | WATCH) It wasnt supposed to happen this way, at least not in Jack Swaggers mind. The All-American American thought he would make quick work of high-flying Evan Bourne, beat the clock and become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. Bourne, however, had other ideas. As quickly as Swagger would apply a maneuver, Bourne was able to kick out of it until the smaller Superstar found a spot and seized upon it, pinning Swagger for the win and robbing him of his chance at a title opportunity.
Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero in a Blindfold Match (PHOTOS | WATCH) Things continue to look up for Hornswoggle. The lucky leprechaun notched his fourth victory in a row against Chavo Guerrero, this time in a Blindfold Match, by order of Raw guest host Shaq. Unfortunately for Chavo, he was the only one blindfolded!
Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes (time expired) (PHOTOS | WATCH) Like a couple of gnats, The Legacy have been buzzing around making life miserable for Triple H. At Night of Champions, just as it appeared either The Game or John Cena would emerge victorious, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase attacked, allowing Randy Orton to retain the WWE Title. Twenty-four hours later, as Triple H prepared for his "Beat the Clock" Match against Rhodes, DiBiase attacked with a surprise crack to the back of The Game's leg.
Despite that, when Triple H faced Rhodes in the ring, he nearly beat Henrys time, but DiBiase interfered, at which point time expired and so did Triple Hs chances at facing Orton at SummerSlam. Later in the night, The Game issued a challenge to Rhodes & DiBiase to face him in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match next week on Raw.
United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. The Brian Kendrick (PHOTOS) After proving his mettle in a Six Pack Challenge at Night of Champions, United States Champion Kofi Kingston continued his winning ways. While his opponent, The Brian Kendrick, mouthed off to Jerry The King Lawler, claiming that Lawler had cheated in his losing encounter with him the week before, Kingston wisely took advantage and laid out the mouthy Superstar for the pin.
MVP vs. Chris Masters ended in double count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH) In the second Beat the Clock Match of the night to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship, MVP faced off against a returning Chris Masters. The Ballin Superstar immediately had his hands full with his formidable foe. Eventually, the match ended in a double count-out when Masters slapped the Master Lock on MVP outside the ring.
Mickie James, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim def. Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes (PHOTOS) One night after claiming the Divas Title from Maryse at Night of Champions and becoming only the second woman to have won both the Divas Title and Womens Title, Mickie James found herself back in the ring. This time, her partners, Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim wanted a piece of the action against Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes. As a result, Kim tagged herself in and stepped it up to pin Fox for the win.
Mark Henry def. Carlito, sets time to beat (PHOTOS | WATCH) In the first Beat the Clock Match of the night, Mark Henry faced off against Carlito. The Worlds Strongest Man defeated The Backstabbing Boriqua and set the time to beat at 6:49.
Chris Jericho & Big Show confronted Raw guest host Shaquille ONeal; Shaq set main event: Unified Tag Team Champions vs. Cryme Tyme with Shaq as special outside enforcer (PHOTOS) Call him the NBAs most dominant player, a 15-time All Star, an Olympian and a 4-time NBA champion. Now, Shaquille ONeal can add one more flourish to his résumé: Raw celebrity guest host. The massive center for the Cleveland Cavaliers addressed the WWE Universe and announced that he had arranged five Beat the Clock Matches to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Whichever Superstar won in the least amount of time Triple H, MVP, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry or John Cena would challenge Randy Orton for the title.
As if Shaq hadnt already started off the night with a slam dunk, he then threatened to stuff Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho. The egomaniacal Superstar informed the 7-footer that he was offended not to be consulted before the show. Jericho, however, would not challenge Shaq himself. Instead, he left that to his towering teammate, Big Show. The Worlds Largest Athlete posted up against Shaq, who refused to back down. As a result, Shaq arranged a main event pitting the Unified Tag Team Champs against Cryme Tyme with Shaq serving as special outside enforcer.

Tons of news and notes from Night of Champions
Tons of news and notes from Night of Champions
Tons of news and notes from Night of Champions
- Katie sent the following: After WWE Night of Champions went off the air, Jeff Hardy celebrated his big win in the ring. CM Punk came back in the ring and stuck his hand out for Jeff. Jeff walked out as the crowd chanted "just say no" but he came back in and shook Punk's hand briefly. Hardy walked around and greeted fans and put a fan in the ring with him that was pointed out by Lilian Garcia.
- JTG was the only WWE worker on my Twitter list that was Tweeting during tonight's pay-per-view. Apparently WWE officials are really cracking down on cell phone usage backstage during shows, so maybe it wasn't the best idea from JTG.
- Speaking of Twitter, Jeff Hardy became a Trending Topic after the show. To my knowledge, this was the first time a WWE-related topic was at the top on Twitter.
- Kenny Williams sent this in: I ordered the Night of Champions PPV and for two hours, my screen was black. I called my cable company and was told that the entire greater Cincinnati area, mostly with Time Warner Cable service, would not be able to see the event even though people had already ordered it.
- WWE.com was having issues during the PPV broadcast, and several people reported that they could not watch the opening match of the PPV. The show came back on during CM Punk's promo, and worked the rest of the night.
- In the Night of Champions dark match, Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty after Shad nailed reverse stroke on Tyson Kidd.
- There was a sellout crowd of 17,774 at Night Of Champions in Philadelphia, PA.

Christian def. William Regal Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification
Thursday night, WWE Superstars on WGN America saw a plethora of impressive in-ring action. With Superstars such as John Morrison, Christian, Evan Bourne, William Regal, Kane and Jamie Noble all competing in one-on-one matches, the night was a tutorial on what it takes to be an in-ring warrior.

Christian def. William Regal (PHOTOS | WATCH) Three days before Captain Charisma faces ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer for the title, he had to go one-on-one with another in-ring veteran in the hard-hitting William Regal. Throughout the match, the Englishman certainly took it to Christian and at several moments it looked as if the Peeps would be disappointed. But thanks to a springboard sunset flip, the crowd was left pleased as Captain Charisma won and gained some important momentum heading into Night of Champions.
Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble (PHOTOS | WATCH) Despite suffering a devastating attack by Big Show last week on Raw, Air Bourne came back with an impressive victory this week against The Pitbull. It was a back-and-forth match that seemed like it could go either way, with Noble grounding Bourne and thwarting several of his attempts to go to the top rope. In the end, a devastating kick to the head took the bark away from The Pitbull and allowed the young Raw Superstar to live up to the Air moniker and hit the Shooting Star Press followed by the 1-2-3.
John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) Impressively, The Friday Night Delight was able to subdue The Big Red Monster for much of their match, frustrating Kane enough to throw a chair in Morrisons face causing a disqualification. In a match pitting speed and agility vs. strength and power, it seemed that The Shaman of Sexy had the sadistic Superstars number until Kane opted to use the chair. After the match, Kane looked to continue the assault until The Great Khali made his way to ringside. With the distraction, Morrison was able to attain a little revenge by striking down The Big Red Machine with a vicious chair shot. This left Kane prone to Khali, but as The Punjabi Playboy grabbed the 7-foot, 300-pound monster, a fear struck Kane kicked free of Khalis grasp and fled away through the crowd. Does The Big Red Monster have a plan for The Punjabi Giant, or was he fleeing in fear of The Great Khali?
