Hardy with a dropkick to the back of Punk sending Punk to the corner. Punk counters a dropkick to the chest and hits Hardy with a HUGE kick to the head. Punk hits his high knee and bulldog combo that results in a two count. Punk with kicks to the body of Hardy, but Hardy hits a Twist of Fate out of no where.

Hardy then goes up top, jumps and Punk sits up dodging the Swanton Bomb attempt. Punk signals for the Go To Sleep. Punk lifts Hardy up, but Hardy counters into an inside cradle for a two count. Punk with a stiff kick to the back of Hardy, lifts him to his shoulders, Hardy counters off and hits another Twist of Fate. Hardy is near the corner, goes back up top, jumps and connects with the Swanton Bomb. Hardy crawls over, hooks the leg and the refereee counts the full three. However, the referee sees that Punk's leg was under the bottom rope and reverses the decision making the match continue. Hardy argues with the referee and can't believe it. Hardy grabs Punk, attempts a Twist of Fate, Punk counters out and attempts a GTS. Hardy rakes the eyes of Punk and Punk falls down immediately favoring his eye. The referee keeps Hardy away from Punk as Punk tries to recover in the corner. Punk then kicks the referee in the back. The referee falls and then calls for the bell.

    Winner via DQ: Jeff Hardy
Winner & STILL WWE World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk

After the match, Jeff Hardy looks at CM Punk in disbelief. Punk continues to favor his eye as he crawls over and his handed the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Punk grabs his belt and starts to leave when Hardy catches up with him. Hardy argues with Punk and Punk tries to explain himself when Hardy goes crazy hitting him with punches. Hardy grabs Punk, tosses him back in the ring, mounts him and hits some big right hands. Hardy continues the assault on Punk until WWE referees hit the ring to break it up. Hardy is pulled back, but then explodes and tackles Punk one more time. Punk is able to get away and rolls out of the ring. A WWE referee helps Punk to the back who grabs his World Title on the ramp and heads to the back. We then see highlights of the match leading to the finish including Hardy's post-match attack on Punk. Back live, we see a shot of a frustrated Jeff Hardy in the ring.

    Rage in the Cage Match
Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho & Edge
    Guest Referee: CM Punk

CM Punk calls for the bell and it’ll be Jeff Hardy starting out against Edge. They lock up and Edge powers Hardy to the corner. Edge has a whip into the opposite corner reversed and Hardy whips him there hard. Hardy bounces Edge’s head off the top turnbuckle and tags in Rey Mysterio. They double whip Edge to the corner and Hardy jumps off Mysterio’s back with Poetry in Motion. Mysterio covers for a one count. Mysterio kicks Edge in the back of the leg as we go to commercial.

    -Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Mysterio punching Edge in the corner. Edge responds with a kick and a punch. Edge whips Mysterio into the corner and charges but Mysterio drop toe holds him into the turnbuckle. Mysterio hits a head-scissors and Edge is set up in position for the 619. Mysterio goes into the ropes and since it’s impossible to hit a 619 in the cage Mysterio jumps up on Edge’s back and attempts to escape the cage. Edge quickly pulls him back down but Mysterio is able to kick him off and hit a top rope cross-body block for a two count. Mysterio wrenches Edge’s arm and tags in Jeff Hardy, who comes off with a double axe handle.

Hardy punches Edge a few times before going into the ropes but Edge counters with a back body drop into the cage and Hardy nearly lands on his head on the way down! Edge hits an elbow drop and drags Hardy to his corner where he makes the tag to Chris Jericho. Jericho kicks Hardy in the ribs before hitting him with a belly to back suplex. Jericho yells at the crowd before covering for a slow two count. Jericho has some words with CM Punk before catching Hardy before he got to his corner and locks Hardy in a rear naked choke. Hardy fights back but Jericho cuts him off. Jericho whips Hardy but Hardy holds on and drops him with a spinning neckbreaker. Hardy makes the tag to Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio comes in with a top rope seated senton on Jericho. Mysterio goes into the ropes and runs into a kick from Jericho. Jericho goes into the ropes and goes for a sunset flip but Mysterio rolls through and kicks him in the head for a near fall. Mysterio punches Jericho but has a whip to the corner reversed on him. Jericho charges into Mysterio’s boot and Mysterio comes off the second rope with a flying hurricanrana. Jericho is seated in the corner so Mysterio hits him with a baseball slide to a very sensitive area on a man’s body. Mysterio whips Jericho into the corner but Jericho stops and starts climbing but Mysterio catches him. Mysterio sits him on the top rope and goes for a hurricanrana but Edge interferes and gets Mysterio on his shoulders. Hardy comes in and saves Mysterio from the Doomsday Device before sending Edge’s head into Jericho’s crotch. Mysterio leaps over Edge and hits a top rope hurricanrana on Jericho for a near fall!

Mysterio goes into the ropes and rolls up Jericho’s body but Jericho drops back and smashes Mysterio’s face into the cage. We’ll take our final break at this point.

    -Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Jericho catapult Mysterio throat first into the bottom rope. Jericho slaps Mysterio before attempting to remove his mask but Mysterio kicks him away. Mysterio almost tags in Hardy but Jericho catches him and tags in Edge. Edge stomps Mysterio before taunting the crowd. Edge stomps Mysterio before choking him on the second rope. Edge hits a cross-body to the back and gets a near fall. Edge punches and kicks Mysterio in the corner and there’s nothing CM Punk can do about it. Edge sends Mysterio into the corner and catapults onto Edge’s shoulders and hits a head-scissors takeover.

Edge tags in Jericho and Jericho cuts Mysterio off before he tags in Hardy. Jericho puts Mysterio on the top rope and clubs him. Jericho attempts to remove Mysterio’s mask on the top rope but Mysterio is able to elbow him off. Mysterio comes off the top for a seated senton but Jericho counters with a dropkick in mid-air! Jericho grabs the leg and Mysterio gets out with an enzuigiri.

They tease both men making the tag but Jericho gets there first and Edge cuts Mysterio off before he can. Edge picks him up on his shoulder and uses his head like a battering ram into the cage. Mysterio blocks a second one and twists into a nice DDT! Edge tags Jericho back in and Jericho stomps Mysterio before talking some trash. Jericho slaps Mysterio and talks more trash about the mask. Jericho head-butts Mysterio before sending him into the ropes but Mysterio holds on to the ropes. Jericho charges into Mysterio’s boot and Mysterio charges so Jericho catapults him over his head but Mysterio hits the cage and begins climbing up in an awesome spot! Jericho eventually cuts Mysterio off but Mysterio is able to kick him away. Mysterio floors him with a top rope dropkick and both men are down again.

Both men finally tag in their respective tag team partners and Hardy takes Edge down with a clothesline. Hardy clotheslines him again before sending him into the cage face first. Hardy sends him into the cage again before hitting an inverted atomic drop, a double leg drop to the groin, and a dropkick to the face for a near fall. Edge hits Hardy with a kick and has a whip reversed on him but Hardy lowers his head and eats a kick. Edge goes into the ropes for a Spear but Hardy leap frogs him and Edge Spears CM Punk inadvertently!

Edge goes to bounce Hardy’s head off the turnbuckle but Hardy elbows him and hits Whisper in the Wind! Hardy covers but Punk is down. Punk eventually rolls over and counts for a near fall. Hardy confronts Punk about this but Punk is in the clear – he did take a Spear after all. Edge turns Hardy around and Hardy drops him with a sit-out front suplex. Jericho runs in and Hardy drops him with a kick. Mysterio then runs in and grabs Hardy to swing and hit Jericho with the 619! Mysterio charges Edge and Edge drops him with a big boot. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate but Edge blocks it and Hardy goes face to face with CM Punk. Hardy then turns into a HUGE Spear from Edge and CM Punk unwillingly counts the pin!

Winners by Pinfall: Chris Jericho & Edge

Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali & Rey Mysterio vs Edge, Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler

Khali began clubbing away at Ziggler in the corner, chopping away at him before Chris Jericho tagged in. Khali picked up Jericho and threw him across the ring and then clotheslined him to the outside of the ring before Edge and Ziggler tried to topple Khali in succession, but got thrown out themselves. Hardy launched himself into the crowd of heels on the outside before Rey used Khali to launch himself.

Khali actually attempted a dive of his own, but got cut off by Edge before he got the chance. Rey tagged in and set up Jericho for a 619, but Edge caught his feet. The heels worked over Rey briefly before Ziggler tagged in and Rey was able to wiggle away and tag Jeff Hardy. Jeff hit a face buster only before Edge cut him off with a spear. All hell broke loose before Rey hit an asai moonsault to the outside on Jericho and Edge & Khali cleared out to the floor. Hardy was left in the ring with Ziggler and he hit a twist of fate for the win.

Winners: Jeff Hardy, Great Khali and Rey Mysterio via pin fall

CM Punk entered the ring to raise Hardy's hand. Hardy didn't take to Punk trying to upstage him.

    Start of the Show

Josh Matthews is in the ring. Matthews mentions that on Raw Smackdown’s General Manager Theodore Long announced a championship match. CM Punk will take on former World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy comes out to a tremendous pop. Todd Grisham correctly calls something, mentioning there are loud ovations and then there are Jeff Hardy ovations.

Jeff Hardy gets in the ring and Matthews mentions that two weeks ago he reached the top again, becoming World Heavyweight Champion again despite those who said he’d never make it there again. They now show clips of the Ladder Match, including the big ladder bump on the outside and the mid-air Twist of Fate. I believe that finish to the ladder match was one of the most creative I’ve seen.

Matthews mentions it must have been an amazing moment and can’t imagine how it must’ve felt to become a World Champion. With that said he can’t imagine how he must have felt when this happened. They now show CM Punk making his way out to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Hardy kicks out of one GTS but can’t kick out of a second one and CM Punk becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Matthews now mentions to make things even worse just when it looked like he was going to become World Heavyweight Champion again, this happens. They now show the ending of the match on Raw, where Jeff Hardy looked to have it won with the Swanton Bomb only for Punk to pull him out of the ring and steal the win for himself.

Matthews mentions that it seems like he can’t get a break and that the World Heavyweight Championship seems to elude him. Gee, way to rub it in guy. Hardy mentions it’s cool and he doesn’t live in the past – he lives in and for the moment. At the Bash he has CM Punk one on one and he knows, along with each and every fan, that he will beat CM Punk. Matthews says we’ve heard Jeff’s point of view so it’s only fair we hear his opponent’s. Matthews now introduces World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who comes out to boos.

CM Punk gets in the ring and Matthews mentions that many people feel that he took advantage of a vulnerable Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules, and at this past Monday night’s Raw he stole another victory from Jeff Hardy. Punk says the only thing he took advantage of at Extreme Rules was an opportunity to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, which he did successfully and well within the rules. Hardy knows this, as does the fans, that no where in the contract does it say, “Under no circumstances are you to cash in on Jeff Hardy.” As far as “stealing” the match on Monday, he takes offense to that. He’s never stolen anything in his life. He didn’t ask the medical staff to come to ringside; they were just doing their job. Hardy was doing his job, and he did his job by successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk says that Hardy knows this as well as he does – when he’s in the ring he doesn’t need to be a guy’s best friend; he’s their competitor. Hardy says Punk is right, in the ring they’re not friends, and they couldn’t be more different. He lives his life they way he does and Punk lives his they way he does. Punk says that’s right – he lives his life the way he does, and Hardy lives his life the way he… does. Punk stretched that out – I like that! Hardy says their differences will collide at the Bash and he will take back what he earned at Extreme Rules – the World Heavyweight Championship.

Josh Matthews thanks them and asks the audience to give it up for Jeff Hardy, and they pop. Matthews asks them to give it up for CM Punk, and they boo. After the break Jeff Hardy will take on Chris Jericho.

    -Commercial Break-

    Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho

This is a non-title match. The match starts and they circle the ring before locking up. Jericho quickly gets a headlock on and Hardy just as quickly whips him off but Jericho is able to shoulder block him down. Jericho taunts for a moment before going into the ropes, over Hardy, and right into a dropkick. Hardy whips Jericho into the corner and hits a corner clothesline. Hardy whips him to the opposite corner and hits a clothesline there as well. Hardy goes for his slingshot dropkick but Jericho moves and Hardy hits the mat hard.

Jericho hits a nice suplex on Hardy for a near fall. Jericho gets Hardy up and Hardy hits some punches. Hardy has a whip reversed on him and Jericho slaps on an abdominal stretch. Jericho holds it on for a bit but Hardy eventually counters out with a hip toss. Hardy comes back with a spinning lariat and an inverted atomic drop. Hardy connects with a double leg drop to the midsection and a low dropkick to the face for a two count. Jericho is in the corner and Hardy runs into his boot. Jericho comes out for a clothesline but Hardy ducks it and hits Whisper in the Wind out of nowhere for a near fall.

Hardy goes for a flipping mule kick but Jericho throws him off. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho but Hardy powers out. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate but Jericho counters with a back suplex. Jericho goes for a Lionsault but Hardy moves. Hardy hits his sit-out front suplex and goes for the Swanton Bomb but Jericho rolls out of the ring. Hardy is still on the top rope so he flies off to the outside but Jericho side steps him and Hardy smashes his face on the barricade.

Jericho throws Hardy into the barricade a couple of times before throwing him back in the ring. All of a sudden Jericho turns around and Rey Mysterio jumps off the barricade with a hurricanrana and Jericho smashes his face into the ring post! Mysterio goes back and sits with the fans. The ref didn’t see anything as he was tending to Jeff Hardy. The referee begins counting and counts Jericho out!

    Winner by Count-Out: Jeff Hardy

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen We talk to the WWE star about beatinh HHH, landscaping and meeting soldiers.

December 18, 2007 - Jeff Hardy's coming off the hottest weekend of his career. A win over Triple H at Sunday's Armaggeddon pay-per-view not only gave him a huge victory over arguably the company's biggest star, but it catapulted him into the number one contendership, which puts him in line to face Randy Orton at the upcoming Royal Rumble. IGN spoke to Jeff on Tuesday to discuss his recent success and his recent trip visiting soldiers stationed in the Middle East.

IGN: Obviously, it's been a big week for you, following your victory on Sunday over Triple H. What's it feel like for the company to put that much confidence in you?

Jeff: I've been on somewhat of a roll, yeah! It feels like a lot of pressure first and foremost, but at the same time, I know I can do it, so it's been very good. I don't let the pressure get to me, and with this roll that I'm on, as long as I remain Jeff Hardy, as long as I'm humble, it'll be great.

IGN: Assuming that the match with you and Randy Orton occurs at the Royal Rumble, would you consider that the most important match of your career?

Jeff: All the TLC matches I'm extremely fond of, because they were such a highlight of my career and Matt's, and Edge's. We raised the bar at that point, but at the same time, we've gotten back to basics by necessity. The HHH match was the biggest night of my career so far, and the match against Randy Orton could be the new biggest one of my career, especially if I win.

IGN: When you were wrestling in bars in North Carolina and working as an underneath guy for the then-WWF back in the late-nineties, did you always think you'd get to this point, or did you have your doubts?

Jeff: There were a lot of times when we would doubt ourselves. We starved for a long time: I was landscaping, and Matt was running around, getting sponsors for our shows. We were hurting for money. There were tons of times were our dad would disbelieve in what we did, but we stuck with it. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew it would happen, and it just played out like it was meant to be and now here I am. I feel bad that Matt's not enjoying it right now because he's hurt, but…

IGN: Actually, how is Matt doing?

Jeff: Matt's good, he's at home, his appendix burst when he was in Tampa, so he goes home, he's out of the hospital one week, and he starts having chills and fevers. He went back in and had to get 40 more cc's of infection out of his toe. Now, this is the best he's felt since this all started.

IGN: What was it like to team back up with your brother? Would you want to return to teaming with him again at some point, or do you want to stay a singles wrestler at this point?

Jeff: For now, I think it's important I establish myself as a singles guy because I have a great opportunity here, and I need to surf this wave until I crash, metaphorically. Matt's out, and I love tag team wrestling, but the only person I want to team with is Matt. It's a lot of fun teaming with HHH, but I'm focused on my singles career.

IGN: You've never really had an extended program in the WWE working against Matt. Would you like to do a long-term storyline with him at some point?

Jeff: Oh, sure, I think it could be an amazing angle. Back in the day, he was always a believer in people wanting to see us fight. Me, I kinda think that brothers get into fights all the time, just by their nature. If we do it right, oh my god, that could be a year-long feud, and hopefully, we'll get to that. It's not anywhere we should go soon, but something for a couple of years down the road. I always remember the matches between Owen and Bret Hart, I'd love to live up to that, and even have a brotherly feud that tops that.

IGN: One of the most harrowing moments of the year in the ring was the ladder match you had with MNM, when Joey Matthews ended up breaking his noise on a ladder spot gone wrong. What do you do in that sort of situation?

Jeff: You know, that night was so weird for me. I was oblivious to the fact that his nose was off his face until after the match. I was down after I dove, and I didn't turn around, and the next thing I know, Joey Matthews is gone and there's blood everywhere around the ring. I didn't know until after the match, but it was vicious. It doesn't take much to hurt yourself if you don't protect yourself in those sort of matches.

IGN: What's it like to travel to the Middle East and visit the United States soldiers stationed there?

Jeff: It's killer, man. I was a little more adapted to it this year after going for the first time last year. It's kinda creepy at first, but you can sense the morale boost with the guys. They're gone 15 months at a time, and there are a few entertainers who go, but we're the ones who really go to the bases in the middle of nowhere and hang out with the troops.

Me, Rey Mysterio, and Umaga threw hatchets with them, just passing time, in the middle of nowhere. We got to shoot some guns, which is always fun. Being there for three or four days is nothing compared to 15 months, so I give them massive props for what they do.

IGN: Do you play video games at all?

Jeff: I'm not that big of a gamer, but this week, I did some of the new liners for next year's game. I got a copy of the Wii game, and I've seen the graphics, and they're amazing. I've got six, seven days off and I might get a setup and check it out. I'd like to try the Wii game.

Didn't you do motion capture for WWE Attitude?

Jeff: Yeah! Back in the attitude era, Matt and I put the suits on them with all the little balls on them, it was brutal, man! We did well over 1000 moves, and if one of those things come off, you had to do them all over again. I don't know if that's still around, or how they make games today, but yeah, that was brutal.

We're doing good, man. We're hanging in there. We gotta move on. I lost my dog and everything I had in my house and now I gotta move on."

The Main Event sent this recap in:

Recap of the Jeff Hardy Interview on the Main Event

Speaks on his suspension, return to WWE, the tough schedule, wanting to do have heel run, etc.

SHOW: The Main Event, Sunday Mornings from 10:30am-12:00pm on www.MainEventRadio.com and CJLO 1690AM in Montreal.

HOSTS: Mr. Ryan Rider and Steve Rockamaniac

Can Be Downloaded for free anytime at:
    http://www.MainEventRadio.com (June 22nd show)

This is Ryan Rider with Steve Rockamaniac by my side and we are about to be joined by a man who has been amidst some controversy in the last few months but at the same time has also achieved quite a lot of success. I would like to welcome our guest for today right away, none other than Jeff Hardy…

Q: First off, welcome back to World Wrestling Entertainment! With the draft coming up this Monday on Raw on the Score and USA network (cheap plug), things seem to be heating up for the summer. Would you mind being traded or would you prefer to stay on the Raw brand?

A: I would prefer to be on the Raw side because of the fact that it's live. If I were to getting traded though, you know, I'm cool to go anywhere.

Q: Seeing as things are going to be switching around, who would you like to face that you either haven't had a chance to wrestle yet or just haven't been able to wrestle with enough?

A: I wouldn't mind wrestling Batista, I've only worked with him in one match. If it came down to me going to Smackdown, I wouldn't mind working with MVP; I had a match with him not too long ago and it went pretty well. I'm pretty easy to get along with and I'll work with anybody and try to be entertaining.

Q: So with the draft coming up, would you prefer to be back on the same brand with your brother Matt or do you want to stay separate?

A: I think it would be cool if we were on the same brand but as far as the company wants to keep us on separate brands for some reason. They want us to be established more and more as individual stars but it would be pretty cool to be on the same brand again and team whenever we want to and may even be opponents at some point.

Q: Earlier this year you were riding a wave of unforeseen popularity, nearly capturing the WWE championship and having nice reign with the Intercontinental title. Of course, that was cut short by your suspension on March 11th. If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did the suspension come to be and have you been able to overcome whatever issues you were plagued with at the time?

A: Absolutely, everything's been cleaned up. I've made two mistakes so far but other than losing out on Wrestlemania and losing the Intercontinental title, I've lost a lot more man. I lost my house to the house fire, and that was pretty much the saddest day of my adult life. Getting through that was really tough man, I didn't even know if I wanted to be back on TV after all that went down. Now I've got past that and I'm back on TV and I'm in a better place. Thank G-d Matt [Hardy] was here. I've made some mistakes and I don't plan to make any more.

Q: We all heard about your house fire, which was very sad news, have you been able to get a new house?

A: It's a long process. They've already got the plans laid out, we're going to use the foundation from the house that burnt down but it's going to take 6 months to a year for it to be built. I'm pretty excited about that but in the meantime I'm living with Matt. It's been very overwhelming [the helpfulness and response from the fans]. I also knew that we had a big fan base but I mean we had to take a truck every day to pick up all the boxes of fan mail that we got. It mean't a lot to have that much support.

Q: In the past, specifically towards the end of your last run in WWE, you suffered from burnouts at times and it seemed like you just weren't into the matches at some points. What's different now compared to a few years ago?

A: I was extremely burned out back in those days when I was first released. I didn't care; I was so tired of wrestling. The biggest change in me now is that I've realized that it is a gift I have and that I need to take advantage of while I can and while I'm still fairly young. I really know that now. And it's still tough with the brutal schedule, working all the time and with me there's no time for other hobbies, there's none.

Q: How would you describe your time working in TNA and made you decide to come back to the WWE last year?

A: TNA was fun; I went through a pretty cool journey with them going from being on PPV once a week to going on SpikeTV. More than anything, they were in Orlando all the time and it's the same crowd. You didn't get to be a part of the big Wrestlemanias, the huge crowds, that's the main thing I missed. I wanted to prove to myself that I could go back to the WWE and be good once again. It made my brother extremely proud too because we wanted to team again and we've done that. More than anything, I missed the crowds and I missed being a part of Wrestlemania. I didn't miss the schedule that's for sure.

Q: Well, welcome back then. You mentioned your brother, do you prefer tag team wrestling or singles competition?

A: I'll always prefer tag team wrestling because that's my claim to fame and where we got started and where we gained our popularity. It's a lot easier to do a tag-team match because when you're a singles guy there's no rest time and you have to work a lot more, and be in a lot better shape. I enjoy both but I'll always love teaming with Matt and every time we team together it feels special.

Q: Generally you have always worked a face, a major fan favourite, would you ever be open to do a heel run?

A: Before I'm done, most definitely. There's a lot of people out there who will doubt if that could ever happen, but back in the OMEGA days I played a character named Will O' the Wisp and I was a tweener both good and bad. But I would love to have a heel run in the WWE, I think that would be a blast. It would show a different side of the Hardyz, it would be very cool and very unexpected.

Q: How's your body feeling by the way? Have you been able to keep up with the more intense schedule again in the WWE?

I'm hanging in there man. I've been pretty fortunate. I haven't had any surgeries and I'm 30 now, turning 31 in August. However, I'm sore all the time, my ankles are really weak. If I don't get my ankles taped before a match, I feel like they're gonna break. My knees actually feel kinda weak and my elbows feel kinda weak, but I'm still holding together. Luckily I've had no surgeries but I do have two herniated discs, one in my lower back and one in my neck so that bothers me quite a bit. Knock on wood, I'm held together by something.

Q: You've had quite a lot of classic matches, but I've got to ask you: which one do you consider to be your best?

A: I would probably say as a singles guy, the ladder match against the Undertaker [July 1st 2002 Raw]. It was a huge thing for me at the time. And then obviously all the TLC matches are all on my favorite list: particularly the one we had in Raleigh where Matt was hanging on the rung, that was one of my creations and something I always wanted to do. All the TLC matches are very lovable in retrospect.

Q: You've been in and out of the WWE several times. How are things different from when you first came back in the early 90's to now in 2008?

A: It's changed a lot. There were a lot of new faces when I first came back. It's actually pretty weird, because I'm treated like a veteran now because there are so many younger talents that are there. That's probably the biggest difference, feeling like a veteran.

Q: On Michael Hayes' Influence early on in his career: He was our wrestling mentor, kind of like our father. He taught us a lot of the basic things that you need to know to be a top guy.

His thoughts on the New Brood: It was a blast, I've always been a big fan of vampires. It was awesome to switch places with Edge and Christian and join Gangrell. I got to paint my fingers black and be evil. It was a great opportunity and that was one of the coolest things ever doing our entrance coming up with the elevator up to the fire. It was really fun. You could feel the heat a little bit, but it wasn't that bad.

Working with HHH: I've got nothing bad to say about HHH. He's always been really cool and he's done a lot for me. When I made my mistakes, it let some people down and he was one of those guys. He's been very supportive since I've been back and I think he's a great athlete and a great performer.

Q: This year you've had some brutal back and forth action with Umaga most recently with that big leap at One Night Stand. Do you have any plans on toning things down as you move towards that main event title push?

A: I think I have toned it down already quite a bit. I think I'll always as far as jumping off things it is a part of my character and I'll do it as long as I can. I've been alright with the things I've done so far. I've toned it down quite a bit and I'm pretty comfortable to know what I can and cannot do. As long as I'm comfortable in my own skin doing something then I usually roll with it.

Q: We've seen you do all sorts of crazy moves and matches. What is the next stage in the innovation of Jeff Hardy?

A: I'm kind of running out of things man actually. I think that one of the biggest stages in my career would be an out of nowhere heel turn. It's very possible that that won't happen but it would be a good way to show a different side of my personality. Merchandise has been awesome for me which would be one of the factors going against a potential heel turn. For me, it would be pretty exciting as far as a challenge to see if I could do it well. As far as now though, I've done quite a bit and so much has been done but I feel like I'll keep trying to create interesting moves but it will get harder and harder as time goes on. Too much has been done.

Q: Looking into the near future: what are your immediate goals and will you be able to stay clean?

A: Definitely. After my last suspension, it has definitely opened my eyes. Back in the day, I was addicted, I really was. I got through that time and now I'm on my last leg in the WWE and if I fall off this horse I won't be back on it. I got over my addictions naturally, it was just a phase I went through you know. I don't regret anything I've done; I think everything happens for a reason. I don't regret any of the choices in my life, any mistakes I've made. I looked at myself and said you've gotta stop this and then now here I am.

Q: Do you aspire to go for any of the World championships in the upcoming months?:

A: That's always something. That's the title to win, one of the heavyweight championships, are the only ones that I have yet to have. Well actually I've never been the U.S. champ either; I'd like to have them all. I kind of see myself in the running [for the world titles] as long as everything goes well whether I'm on Smackdown or Raw no matter what.

Q: Jeff Hardy, I want to thank you for joining us on the Main Event today and for being so honest and well-spoken about everything. Best of luck in the future and who knows if you're able to stay motivated, the next time we talk you might just be a World Champion!

Jeff Hardy has been through plenty of highs and lows over the past year.  Last December, he defeated Triple H at Armageddon which was arguably the biggest win of his singles career and seemed to be on the road to winning the WWE Championship.  That changed in March when he was suspended for 60 days after violating the WWE Wellness Policy for a second time which also cost him his spot at WrestleMania 24 here in Orlando.  Things got even worse for him later that week when his home burned down and he lost everything he owned as well as his dog to the fire.

Now, Hardy is back and once again looks to be on track to possibly winning his first world title.  This Sunday night at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view, he will face both Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship.  Yesterday, I spoke with the immensely popular Hardy about this past year, his future with the WWE and more.

Last week when we saw you on TV, you had a bit of an edge.  Do you think this is a rebirth of yourself?

In a way, yeah, it kind of is.  I think that bringing the paint back showed an edgier side of me.  I did that years ago in the past and I think it brings a new demeanor to my character and at a very unpredictable stage of my career of not knowing what I’m going to do next which is pretty exciting.

At the same time, when you have that bit of an edge and you go with a match last that (Hardy had an extreme rules match against The Undertaker last week on Smackdown) which you probably won’t have all the time but with the extreme rules and trying to bring that back a bit, how much more painful can that be?

Yeah, that match is different from a regular match.  There’s more risk involved and whatever but honestly, that’s been my comfort zone throughout my career and, in my opinion, I think I can go out there when I have utensils like ladders and chairs and have a much better match.  At the same time, like you said, there’s more risk involved and it can be hard on your body.  But I find myself in a comfort zone with that.  I like that role.

How much more do you weigh those opportunities when it comes to the more dangerous things?  Do you think twice about that more now as you’ve been in wrestling for a while or go out there and try not to think about it and throw caution to the wind?

Yeah, I try to throw caution to the wind.  I think a lot of times when you do hesitate is when you do end up getting hurt in a lot of scenarios like that.  You know, it is nerve racking to dive off scaffles or big ladders or anything because it’s pretty creepy.  It’s not knowing when you’re going to get back up from what you’re about to do.  But luckily, I’m 31 now and I’ve got a lot to be proud of and to be thankful for and I have been so fortunate and so lucky throughout my career that I’ve had no surgeries yet and I want to keep it that way.  Yeah, I just try to take it show to show and hope for the best.

How is that even possible, considering everything you’ve done, that you’ve never had a surgery?

You know, your guess is as good as mine.  My brother (Matt Hardy) has already had his knee done and his elbow scoped.  A lot of guys at a younger age than what I’m at have had loads of surgeries.  I’ve been lucky and fortunate and hopefully I keep it that way.

I’m assuming there is a bit of a competitive nature between yourself and your brother Matt.  Has he teased you about becoming a singles world champion before you?

Not really verbally or anything terrible like ‘I’m better than you’ type of way but he knows.  I think he totally deserves it because the biggest difference between Matt and myself is he’s a lot more…he’s wrestling straight up.  He don’t have as many other interests.  He’s not the type of guy that likes to go out there and buy a canvas and just start painting or go off and buy a motorcycle and ride it.  He’s pretty much straightforward when it comes to wrestling where I have those other interests and that’s kind of distracted me in the past.  Now, I’m at a point in my career where I kind of have to be committed to WWE and doing my job because I don’t have time to do those other things.  And with this new character it’s not exactly a new character – with this new edge as you said, it’s fun.  It’s fun for me to paint up again and do something different and show another side of Jeff Hardy that people may not think I’m capable of.

Because you do have so many other interests, not to say that you don’t take wrestling serious, but how much would it mean for you to win a world title?

It would mean the world, definitely, because from our childhood that’s always been a dream to become the world champion.  I’ve had a lot of titles in the past and to complete the collection would be great before it’s all said and done, before I’m done in the ring.  It would be great to say I have been WWE Champion.  Hopefully – I’m on the verge of that.  I’ve come close so many times and there is an interesting story in there.  I think that’s why a lot of people are attached to it and they want to see me succeed in that light.  But if I never do, I won’t downgrade myself or think low of myself because I have accomplished a lot and I have a lot to be proud of.  I’m proud of who I am and what I’ve done.

What were your thoughts of WWE putting that in a story and talking about how you’ve come so close but can’t seem to get over the hump?

It’s fine with me.  I think it’s just drive and push and motivation, especially with some of the stuff you saw between Triple H and myself exchange and he’s always gave me a hard time about that and always came out on top.  Once again, it goes back to that never giving up scenario and still just believing in your dream and doing everything it will take to capture that.  It’s just motivation and drive.  When people say I can’t, the more I want it and the more I want to do it.

It’s been quite the year for you.  You began the year getting the biggest singles push of your life and then you got suspended, you missed WrestleMania, there was the fire to your house where you lost your dog.  Can you put into words what this year has been like for you?

The first of the year was very tough.  I have labeled that…Matt and I, when I was 9 years old and Matt was 12, we lost our mom, by far the saddest day of my childhood life.  Yeah, losing my home and everything – I didn’t live in a mansion but still, the fact that it was a mansion to me and losing my dog which was my world and that was such a hard time.  I’ve definitely labeled that the saddest day of my adult life up to date.  But, you know, tragedies – you get through them and you continue on and you move on and now everything is going well with the new home and everything is going good with work.  I’m pretty beat up – my body is.  Nevertheless, it could be a lot worse.  I’m just thankful, very thankful for where I’m at.

Did you buy another trailer or did get you a regular home – a house?

You know, I was young and anxious to get out on my own.  I didn’t know how long I would be wrestling and I wanted to get something I could pay for.  That’s why I bought my double-wide trailer.  We always planned to build a house although you never expect anything like that to happen to you.  This house is awesome.  It’s like 4500 square feet, all brick, basement, one story.

After all of that went down and you were able to come back, was it difficult for you to come back after going through all that or were you anxious to come back so it could take your mind off everything?

It was a little bit of both.  A part of me kind of like was nervous about it but another part of me was anxious to get back and get back on the scene and get it over with like all the questions and all the ‘oh my God, how do you get through something like that’.  Just to kind of prove people wrong – not prove people wrong but come back from getting knocked down and get back up kind of deal.  I have to be thankful too for such a great fan following with so many people supporting me through the ups and downs, through the bad and good.  I respect my fans more than anything because I still owe them my career.  If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today and I thank them for that.

What are some of the more interesting things you received from fans following all of that?

It’s pretty much mainly memorabilia, a lot of clothing and stuff.  It’s a weird thing – you hear the stories but when it happens to you and it’s weird when the only clothes you have are the ones on your back.  So naturally we got a lot of clothes and a lot of action figures and magazines and all of the memorabilia wrestling-wise.  I got a lot of that stuff and a lot of that stuff is in the new house and it just builds up and builds up.  We’ve got so much.  In Matt’s basement there is so much to still go through that we received.  Obviously, mainly clothing and wrestling memorabilia.

After the suspension, when you went back on the road did you ever feel like the office had lost confidence in you because that can happen after you go through something like that?

Yeah.  Oh, for sure.  I still think they probably question the dependency as far as if they can really depend on me.  But, I mean, I’ve done a lot in the WWE and for the company and I think the least they can do is depend on me.  So, there’s probably a few people out there going ‘yeah, he shouldn’t have another chance’.  I’ve been more than kind to so many people across the world in my career and went out of my way to speak to you like I’m normal, just a human with a different job.  So, yeah, I think I’m well deserving of it.

Do you think that people in the WWE, and even fans to some extent, watch you a little closer because of the issues in the past and do you think that is fair?

Of course it is.  They all have their right to doubt me.  That motivates me even more to stay on the straight and narrow.  Yeah, of course you’re going to have those kind of people and I think that’s totally fine.

We’re going to watch Smackdown tonight and you have a match with Triple H.  Last week you had a great match with The Undertaker.  Why do you think you’ve had such good chemistry with both of them in particular over the years?

Mainly because I would say those two guys – they’re legendary veterans.  Some people have called Matt and I veterans at this point in our career.  We are older now a lot of new faces in the WWE saying these guys have been around when it comes to being professional and knowing what you’re doing and what’s best for the company and what’s best for yourself.  These guys are masters of that.  With me, I’m just a great listener when it comes to professional wrestling.  Matt is more like a coach to where I’m more like a student.  But I’m good at listening and I’m good at what I do and when it comes to a scenario of me having to listen to somebody to make something good or even throw ideas in there to make it even better, you know, I’m real good at that because I always think outside the box.  But I just need somebody to put in the right state of mind and the right frame.  Once that chemistry is there, it’s going to be good.

Let me wrap up with a little talk about WrestleMania.  Tickets for WrestleMania 25 are now on sale with the show taking place on April 5 in Houston, Texas.  The last time the show was in Houston was at WrestleMania 17 and you have a TLC (tables, ladder and chairs) match.  What do you remember about that match?

Yes I do remember that.  It seems that, I could be wrong, it seems that was the match where I got speared off the rings from Edge.  I want to say that was the match because all of the TLC matches are such favorites of mine.  Yeah, I remember a big crowd and it’s going to be cool to return there years later.

Where do you see yourself this time when WrestleMania comes around?

Well, with this new edge I have, I’m not sure man.  I think the sky’s the limit and anything can possibly happen with my character.  I definitely see myself in a good spot.  If not in Money in the Bank something even bigger.  It’s hard not to vision myself not in a ladder match if there’s going to be a ladder match.  I don’t know man, we’ll see.  Things change so much.  Smackdown, in my opinion, has been so exciting.  As of late, it’s been such a good show.  Who knows what Jeff Hardy may do next.

Wrestlemania, Ladders, and the Swanton Bomb
March 27, 2007 - Jeff Hardy, ladders, Wrestlemania. This recipe has given WWE fans some of the most breathtaking moments in sports entertainment history. Only thing is, Hardy says you haven't seen anything yet.

"Luckily for me, I'm being showcased in my comfort zone, and with ladders at my side, I have a good chance of getting that briefcase," Hardy told me over the phone as he prepares for his Money in the Bank Ladder match in Detroit. "I've talked to Matt a few times, and we'd love to knock everybody out and have the match come down to the two of us. We'd look each other in the eyes and respectfully beat the hell out of each other. May the better brother win."

He's watched the tapes of Shelton Benjamin, RVD, and the rest of the Money in the Bank crew, and his goal this Sunday for Wrestlemania is to top them all.

"Last year I was watching Mania from home, and Matt was in the match, and when Shelton did the springboard and landed on the ladder…so many impressive things that guy did, but one of the first things, one of the first goals I set is to try to top that. I know some of the moves Shelton did are going to be hard to top, especially when he ran up the ladder, but I have a few things up my sleeve that I'm going to try and pull off."

IGN Sports: Who were the wrestlers who influenced you as a kid?

    Jeff Hardy:
Early, when I first started wrestling, I wanted to be a combination of Sting and the Ultimate Warrior. The Ultimate Warrior's craziness and weird personality and Sting's coolness and the way he carried himself to the ring. But then later on, when it came to physicality and athleticism, Shawn Michaels topped the cake. Just watching that guy and seeing the types of matches he's had at Mania and throughout his career, pound-for-pound he's the best wrestler in the world. He has always been a great influence in Matt's and my career. He has a knack for stealing the show.

IGN Sports: Shawn is one of the big matches at Mania, but the one with the most buzz right now has to be the hair vs. hair match. Would you ever put your hair on the line in a match?

Jeff Hardy: Yeah, I probably would…I guess I would depending on who it was with and what story surrounded it. If the situation was right, and the money too [laughs] I might take part in it. I really hate my hair when it's not braided because it's so big when it dries. When it's wet it looks cool, but when it dries it gets all in my mouth during a match and I hate it. I wouldn't mind shaving it off. But then I love it when it's braided. It looks cool and it's long and it doesn't get in my mouth. So if the writing is right, I'd be a part of it.

IGN Sports: You seem like the kind of guy who is always looking for something bigger to jump off of. Are you still looking for that big jump or are you starting to slow down?

    Jeff Hardy:
I think I've slowed down quite a bit. I don't try or attempt even half of the stuff I used to want to try way back in the day when I was a lot younger. It takes a toll on the body throughout the years, but still, The Swanton is something I feel extremely confident and safe in doing. I would still like to do an extremely high one one of these days. It would be great to do at Mania, but I don't think this year because it's not the right type of match, but when I was wrestling in this other organization, I did one that was crazy, it was 34 feet high where I jumped from and I nearly had a heart attack before I did it. I would really love to do something like that in WWE because it would last through time a lot more and a lot more people would see it. When the time is right, I plan on doing an extremely high Swanton Bomb. I always wanted to bring out a hydraulic lift somehow, ride it to the ring like in a Stone Cold type scenario, back it up then jump off of it and go through some tables.

IGN Sports: I couldn't believe you did the Swanton on top of the ladder in your match against Nitro?

Jeff Hardy: Yeah, that was pretty cool but it was also pretty stupid. Wow, I felt it, that's for sure.
IGN Sports: You guys are on the road so much and putting your body on the line with every match, how difficult is it for someone to commit their lives to being a professional wrestler?

    Jeff Hardy:
It's tough. The biggest change is that time just goes by so fast when you're on the road. It seems like it's only been a month or so since I've been back and it's already been more than half a year. I can't complain, though. I'm in a great spot right now and it's up to me to take advantage of it while I can.

IGN Sports: Why did you feel the need to walk away from the sport a couple of years ago?

Jeff Hardy: I was big-time burned out. I needed that year to get away from it for a while and more than anything, that's what straightened my ass up for sure. Just to get away from it for a while and breath a little bit, take it easy. I was able to complete a motocross track at my house, and that's something I've always enjoyed. That time away is really what developed the passion I needed to come back and compete. The fans too, having such a huge fan base, it's hard to see that and be motivated when you have so many people who support you and want to see you perform.

IGN Sports: What's more dangerous, wrestling or riding motocross?

Jeff Hardy: They go hand in hand. Motocross might be more dangerous because it's hard to tame the machine sometimes. Wrestling, you're dealing with yourself and your own body, but when you're trying to tame the machine, that sh*t can be kind of hard sometimes. Those things are strong. It's also so cool to be able to develop the talent to be able to jump and control the motorcycle which is a very fun thing to do but it's hard to manage the two. It's so easy to get hurt, and that's the last thing I want to do. I would be screwed if I got hurt on my motorcycle and couldn't wrestle.

IGN Sports: You're having matches right now both as a singles competitor and as a tag team with your brother. Which do you prefer?
Jeff Hardy: I'm all for tagging. I love tag team wrestling and I would choose that over singles any day. It's also cool that we can tag if we need to or we can be successful in the singles ranks, and that's one thing that makes the Hardy Boyz stand alone in their success is that we can go our separate ways and still be successful, but I love tagging with Matt, and I think I prefer tagging over singles wrestling.

    [bewerken] World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

    [bewerken] Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

Hardy debuteerde in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling op 23 juni 2004 tijdens TNA Second Anniversary Show als The Charismatic Enigma. In zijn debuut match daagde Hardy A.J.

"Yes we are still together and writing songs. No we are not broken up. JR from the band runs this site."

Put your heart into all that you attempt and you will succeed.
The only way to fail is to believe that trying is futile.
Don't be limited by your fear.

"FEAR IS ONLY A FOUR LETTER WORD."

    Take risks.
     Live your life.

    LIVE THE MOMENT

Don't dwell on the past. It's come and gone and there's nothing that can be done to change it.
Don't worry about the future, because there's a good chance that it's never going to come.
Focus on living the moment, and making the most out of the here and now.
Live every day, every moment, like it's your last. Hold no grudges and don't stay angry.
Don't burn any bridges, because hurting relationships with people will only hurt you in the long run.
Make as many friends as you can. Be as polite and respectful to others as you wish to receive in turn.
Do not act superior to anyone. You are equal to everyone. Rememeber that.

Be the bigger person. Learn to listen to both sides of the story. Forgive. Grow up an dmove on.

Be thankful for everything you have, be it your family, school, education, job, partner, anything, because there are people out there that don't have any of the things that you take for granted. Remember how lucky you are.
