With the warm weather finally in Austria, it was time for Kaya to learn to swim. Well obviously that did not take long. She just swam to the yellow toy as if she had never done anything else and retrieved it So that was that, for a quick learning experience! And she and Morris had fun in the water!
I got some new pictures of the female orange of the north of Holland. All sounds like it is going well and they are training for their Diploma C, which is something you start with in Holland and is needed to compete. Good Luck Rones!!!
Yesterday I went to Holland to deliver the pedigrees to Kjeld and Fitch. Unfortunately Fitch and Family were still on vacation, but Kjeld was home and greeted me outside laying on his back, happy to see me. He is getting curls and growing up to be a nice boy.He is living with Faust, his 12 years old golden Buddy and 2 bunnies and he just lets them walk loose in the yard and he thinks that is just fine!!!! Pictures to show him!!
After I left Kjeld, Frenny and Annouk went to take him swimming, since the weather was finally nice. Well, as you can see on the pictures , he learned fast and seemed to enjoy it very much. Next the surf board Kjeld !!!!
I received an email from Katrin, who did a Heli & mountain weekend and a Searching in Wreckage training with 5 month old Kaya and wanted to share that with you al'l. Below is part of Katrin's email to me about the training and the pictures speak for itself, enjoy!!!
The way down from the mountain was really heavy - for me
more then for her we walked about 8 hours, Kaya was sitting in the backpack
for a while, then walking again, again a break in the backpack - she was doing
good. I think she is related with a goat! Nothing can fear her - there were
sections with deep gaps and it was going cliffy downhill - some of the mature
dogs and also the other puppy went whining from time to time because they were
afraid to go down the cliffs, Kaya was waging with her tail and going down for
herself - it was awesome - wish that you could have seen that! Unfortunately we
have no pictures of the walk down, the weather was terrible, 4 degrees, fog and
raining, I had no time to take pictures, it was more important to look at the
dogs and ourselves.
If all went well, Gina, Rones & Phil received their pedigree by registered mail. Frenny and Pauline, I will personally deliver yours, as it will be a good excuse to come see you and puppers again, but not for a few weeks as I had handsurgery and am not allowed to drive. Mid, I will deliver yours also, as I think it is a good excuse for a trip across the water!!! I hear from all and it seems all are losing teeth and looking like" Pluto", big ears, long tails and long legs, but all doing well!! I have some new pictures from Kilt to add.
I am working on a blog for my dogs, which will have news about them and also future breedings. www.bloggen.be/workinggoldens
I also found a picture of Clyde as a puppy and grown-up, so that will be fun to see for you, but they are small. Send pictures please.
I received and email from Katrin who owns Kaya and she did an aptitude test with her for search & rescue, taken by two instructors and the test consisted of 17 stations and she got an almost perfect score, so she is now part of the Search & Rescue team at 4 months and in the coming weeks they will do a helicopter training and also an alpine training, so very exciting and a good break from retrieving while she is changing her teeth in the next few months. Awesome and Good luck. Enclosed also some fun pictures with her playing with Morris their other dog. Some real "dog"play and love the high "five"picture.
We got word from Fin from Switserland that all is going well with him and all the other animals they have !!! Pictures to show and if you go to their website: http://www.tierisch-roth.ch/ and then click on Saugetiere and then Fin's album, you will see the pictures I have on the blog but then the last one is a video with Fin and their Cat, it is to die for, so funny. Enjoy!!!
Yesterday I went to visit Kjeld and Fitch in Holland. First to Kjeld!! He lives with another golden named Faust and they get along geat.He is 4 months old now and all leggy and lean. Very nice behaved and just fun to be around. We took a walk around town with him and Faust and I took Eli. At a certain moment he was gone into a water ditch and came out with biggest stick, of course no camera with me then, but it was so funny looking, little dog, big stick. We had lunch and then off I went to Fitch who was out in the yard and he greeted me at the gate. Same dog, leggy and lean and maybe a little bigger, but he was the biggest puppy in the litter ,so no surprise there. They seem to have the same expression. He was enjoying himself in the yard and looked like a very happy puppy. It was so much fun to see them again and I hope to see more of them, as they live close to my son and my sister. Enjoy the pictures. First I will put Kjeld on an then Fitch, so we won't make mistakes.
Kaya went with Katrin and Karin's (lot of K's) puppy class for a visit to the zoo and had a great time as you can see in the pictures!!!Exhaused afterwards from all the new things she saw , so slept a long time. She also lost her first tooth, so NO retrieving right now, until she is done! But she is also doing search and rescue, so she is a busy little puppy!! Looking good!!
I got a couple of pictures of Fitch today, almost 15 weeks, long and leggy, but that will change in a few months. They will probably start loosing their milk teeth soon, so be careful with retrieving for the next 2-3 months so they don't hurt themself when picking up things and then get a bad memory. Obedience and fun stuff and a good raw bone once in awhile will get them through the changing period. Also check the teeth once in awhile, because they should be used to that and then also see if they come in good and do not overlap each other.
Kilt at 13 weeks, Sure looks like a different puppy, then the one we flew over to Atlanta at the end of April. He is taking puppy classes and according to Mid, is doing very well.Totally accepted by the other 4 dogs in the pack. It just takes time and they always get accepted. Need some update pictures from the rest. I am sure you have some, so send them on.!!
We got some new pictures of Kilt from Atlanta. Very hot there now, 34 degreees, so a lot of relaxing!! He really changed from a fluffy puppy to a mini golden!!!
Here some pictures of Fitch-Whispering Oaks Kane, who likes to sleep in and under things also and digging in the yard and just chilling out there with this hot weather we have had and he and Kilt are swimming like pro's!!
