Mijn hobby's zijn: Duiken, aquaristiek, foto/film, rally, minivoetbal.

Capetanios release
On the following link, you can see the video of Capetanios release. He was released near Sounio (same beach as Gerasimos). Capetanios arrived here in the center on 05/08/2006 with a hook inside and one in his left eye. He recovered very well without any visiondamage. During his stay, he gained almost 10kg in weight and 20cm in lenght.

We had a dead turtle arriving from Aegina last week. A very small one. Turtles from this size are very rare to be seen. This one was younger then 1 year (<20cm)
The 4th may, at 01.00 during the night, me and Pavlo went to Piraeus to pick up a new turtle who came by bus from Zakynthos. He's a big male (Tomas) with a fishingline coming out of his mouth. He also ate a lot of plastic. Today we went to the hospital for x-rays. Luckely there's only 1 hook. (pictures later)
Thursday, we go to the vet to take out the hook of Mariano. He's been forcefed the last weeks, and should be strong enough to survive the operation.
Omiros (blind) made big improvements the last weeks. Last month, we still had to forcefeed him, but now, he already eats by hand. 1 more step (learn him to find food on the same place) and he's ready to go to an aquarium.
Angelos is getting his last antibiotics and should be released within 2 weeks. Also Persefoni, Matilda, Capetanios should be ready for release next month.
Intussen zijn we al bijna half mei...wat gaat het snel. Op dit moment ben ik nog de enige van de 'begingroep' die hier aanwezig is. Olivia en Flor zijn vanmorgen vertrokken naar Kyparisia. Van daaruit gaat Flor richting Zakynthos, Lily gaan vervoegen die hier vorige week al vertrok. Elize (Rethymno) en Alice (Hania) vertrokken vorige week naar Kreta. John is momenteel op rondreis om rond de 20e ook naar Rethymno te vertrekken. Het kot voor mij alleen?? Nee, hoor, sinds vorige donderdag heb ik gezelschap gekregen van Chrissie en Caitlin, beiden uit Michigan (VS). Vandaag is ook Megan (Canada) aangekomen, die hier een 3tal dagen zal blijven alvorens naar Kyparisia te vertrekken.
