Jan had won in a contest, on Easter morning an guided tour from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m.. Since I found we could not be separated on that mornng we all went to Antwerp. We would go for a breakfast or a lunch and Jan and Maurice would do the tour. It turned out differently, nobody showed up, only us so we all went. It was another way to spend Easter morning, but it was very nice. Alltough I had 2 grumpy adults at first!
Antwerp from the Schelde
Lunch for 30 people, we ate a bit...
Our Crew, there was more then us, guide, filmcrew, catering!
And today we did start again, and off course when everybody has to go back to school and work there is snow. Huge traffic jams, car problems electricity crashes,....
But also very beautiful
the kids made all together 10 snow men, one even bigger then the other
picture postcards and then the sun came also Tomorrow we excpect - 13 degrees,
brrrrrrrrrrr, luckily I knitted lots of scarfes during the break, all together 8 and a poncho. I did well, even if I say so myself. As soon as there is new wool I will knit one for you, still you won't need it for quiet some time.
Last year and also this year we did a cycling trip. first stop we had the apperitiv.
We where very hungry at 7.30 pm and Rita did make lots of snacks so by the time everybody at soup
take a kg of zuchini, do not peal, cut in pieces take 2 large onions a big fennel 2 chicken stock cubes 2 vegetable stock cubes a knife tip of pilipili set all this under water, only just, Cook and mix or blend, lenghten with milk or cream, delecious soup, bonne appetit!
at my place, we where not hungry any more for the main course It was a rather cold night so once we got nice and warm inside everybody got a bit snoozy, it was a great main course , boeuf bourgignon or stoofvlees and fries, followed by desert after a while
we drink... or not! Lise had a cheeckbone operation, her mouth was to small she could not eat properly, so she had orthondontie(?). 6 months agoo her 4 last teeth( what do you call them, we say wijsheidstanden, teeth of wisdom) where removed and now this operation. Hopefully everything will be okay.
On Tuesday Marijke took her test, and as you can guess she passed, so now she can drive on her own. Today she even passed the border, we went shopping to Breda. Thursday evening is walking evening with the neighbours or at least some. Sometimes 2 sometime 6 it varietes. That's it for now...
It was great again, on the saturday we took a bycicle ride(55 km) and visited a sluice, remember when you took the boat trip in England? On the sunday we walked a bit and after lunch we went to Breendonk, a war fort. That wasn't really fun but still well done and worth to see. All the stories about torchering and foltering, not nice at all. The school break can start now, and as you can see on our clothes it is getting cold.
We visit the Belgian Trappist brewerys or monasteries with a group of friends. We are from Westmalle, and we visited Chimay, Rochefort and now West Vleteren. This is nominated the best in the world! Opinions may differ, my hubby prefers Chimay. And West vleteren is very hard to come by. You have to order in advance and then the 2 hours drive, that's a bit much!
The kids
The caffee All together now This isCarine, she lives in this part of Belgium, we where in school together. It was 10 years since we saw each other. That was a nice reunion.
Kindergarten
empty cycling racks, at 5.30 p.m. there is no one there. A few weeks ago, some kids threw one through the glass doors in school!!!! It happened 3 times now, can you believe it?
Our church, and as you can see the weather was nice, yes a few days now already, and they forecast it for the rest of September.
Marijke also made a start this week, She has a new room, we filled it again, it turned pink in no time!
We'll take pictures soon...
September has gone almost, and that means that I 've been working for a month now.
My bike ready to go to work, I only have to ride out of my street, passing the church, passing kindergarten and then there I am!
A classroom ready to be cleaned,I just want to show you my working day, yesterday, Friday, I started at 9.15 a.m. The first class I was supposed to clean was a computer class, alass it was taken, luckily the teacher was very helpfull and we came to an agreement so I could clean it anyway.
This is the one next to the computer class I couldn't get in.
Coffee break with my closest colleagues, to my left we have Sabine and to my right Mariette, they always work together.
There is also Sonia and Katrin, and then we have Chris and Annelies. Yes, my six colleagues and me clean the whole school!
My most imported tool!!!! My radio goes where I go, I can listen to my station, Studio Brussel, a bit like tripple J.
It is not the station my colleagues listen to.
I love it!
more tools, yes I do have my own trolley!
