we drink... or not! Lise had a cheeckbone operation, her mouth was to small she could not eat properly, so she had orthondontie(?). 6 months agoo her 4 last teeth( what do you call them, we say wijsheidstanden, teeth of wisdom) where removed and now this operation. Hopefully everything will be okay.
On Tuesday Marijke took her test, and as you can guess she passed, so now she can drive on her own. Today she even passed the border, we went shopping to Breda. Thursday evening is walking evening with the neighbours or at least some. Sometimes 2 sometime 6 it varietes. That's it for now...
It was great again, on the saturday we took a bycicle ride(55 km) and visited a sluice, remember when you took the boat trip in England? On the sunday we walked a bit and after lunch we went to Breendonk, a war fort. That wasn't really fun but still well done and worth to see. All the stories about torchering and foltering, not nice at all. The school break can start now, and as you can see on our clothes it is getting cold.
We visit the Belgian Trappist brewerys or monasteries with a group of friends. We are from Westmalle, and we visited Chimay, Rochefort and now West Vleteren. This is nominated the best in the world! Opinions may differ, my hubby prefers Chimay. And West vleteren is very hard to come by. You have to order in advance and then the 2 hours drive, that's a bit much!
The kids
The caffee All together now This isCarine, she lives in this part of Belgium, we where in school together. It was 10 years since we saw each other. That was a nice reunion.
Kindergarten
empty cycling racks, at 5.30 p.m. there is no one there. A few weeks ago, some kids threw one through the glass doors in school!!!! It happened 3 times now, can you believe it?
Our church, and as you can see the weather was nice, yes a few days now already, and they forecast it for the rest of September.
Marijke also made a start this week, She has a new room, we filled it again, it turned pink in no time!
We'll take pictures soon...
September has gone almost, and that means that I 've been working for a month now.
My bike ready to go to work, I only have to ride out of my street, passing the church, passing kindergarten and then there I am!
A classroom ready to be cleaned,I just want to show you my working day, yesterday, Friday, I started at 9.15 a.m. The first class I was supposed to clean was a computer class, alass it was taken, luckily the teacher was very helpfull and we came to an agreement so I could clean it anyway.
This is the one next to the computer class I couldn't get in.
Coffee break with my closest colleagues, to my left we have Sabine and to my right Mariette, they always work together.
There is also Sonia and Katrin, and then we have Chris and Annelies. Yes, my six colleagues and me clean the whole school!
My most imported tool!!!! My radio goes where I go, I can listen to my station, Studio Brussel, a bit like tripple J.
It is not the station my colleagues listen to.
I love it!
more tools, yes I do have my own trolley!
invite your neighbours for a soup test, let them bring a cup and a spoon, let some neighbours cook soup and then the tasting can begin. everybody writes the 3 best down and puts the note in my lettre box, let some other neighbours count and you get a result...
as you can see it is great fun we even had a haircut on the street after also look at my arm! our house in the middle of our street, so I run a hundred times up and down during the week.... Jan's haircut even the men thread... lunch on Friday, hot dogs
And then it was there again, the speelstraat. Again we had a fully booked week with the neighbours in and mostly on our street.
we played cube, a game from Sweden rode on our bicicles?? bonded watched at the sky sometimes fearfully played with treads for 4 days!!!!! everybodys arms and sometimes even legs, were hung with them
we got a jumping castle from the council it was fun for all...
For my mother mother's day (15/8) and birthday (24/8), we, my sis and me, arranged a boat trip. It was on Sunday the 17 th, we left at 8.30 a.m., drove for an hour a bit more to Aalst, where we boarded. At ten the boat left, it was a nice trip through a river called the Dender,, the distance was only 25 km but it took us 6 hours to our destination. The bus brought us back in half an hour. It was very nice, nice views, lots of herron's, and a guide who knew a lot. We took our own picnic and snacks and had a great day.
