I do like the gardens
You must not ask how it all got here, because it is not a nice story to tell
You know the colonies
We went in...
but not very far...
beautiful gardens
This fountain is at the side somewhere, we passed it on our bikes, I like it it is fun.
So you can see, when you ever get here we must see Brussels. It will take a few days...
The tent next to the little red one is his and the other boys of his groupe
it was a very nice spot in the Ardennes, with a little river streaming by, the Ourthe
We passed again at the Africa museum, it was on the way
I wanted to get the elephants again
withe the daughter and
with the husband, I got them 2 years ago when they stood at the beach.
I got pictures for Jan's communion, the ones with the elephant were favourite then.
I like them a lot, they are from a South African artist.
Today we are out with an ex colleague from the laundrymat and her husband.
We drove to brussels, rented bikes and a guide and drove off....
pfff sometimes rather steep, just like in your street.
Is this a herron?
Our guide
Beautiful park, notice the nice green, it must have something to do with the weather...
Els in action
We made a nice walk, the beginning and the end were not great, but the middle part between the fields was very nice. I don' t know why the cows were lying in a heap especially since it is 30 degrees at the moment, yeah that is Belgium for you.
Who is that mysterious man???
A sight we don't see that often so a picture moment, it was a rich farmer by the looks of it
Before we shop at Ikea we eat a breakfast for ONE euro. It's 3 mini rolls cheese jam butter an egg and 2 cups of coffee or tea. You can't let that go can you? it is from 9.30 till 11. Is it also like that in Australia? We went with 2 neighbours who happen to be a twin. We ' ve done a lot together this holiday.
You can see where we had our diner, they have an action going where you can save glasses, well we like them, so we go once more.
I had to pick up my sister in law from the airport, she went to America. Luckily we only had a small traffic jam, compared to the one we saw when we drove back.
pink flowers had to be taken
Mother and daughter, or did you recognise us??
Do you always notice the coffee? We didn't make any pictures at the cinema, Marijke and Maurice looked at Wanted . Jan and me went to see the panda movie. Afterwards it was still pouring! And it was the coldest national day for years and years, only 12 degrees, we are living in the summer!
Today I did some cleaning up, Maurice did a bit in the garden. I took my mum and dad to the hospital for a check up. I cooked diner for the neighbours from number 10.
The sun DID SHINE ALL DAY!
Tomorrow morning we're driving to Ikea, to start with breakfast, it is always fun to go there. And we always go across the border but I must have told you this before.
I ' ll start with the little one, he's got some exercises to do during the holidays, so mum will have to nag, nag, nag, all 2 months long. Number 2 has to do his French exam again. Again there will be the bad mother nagging...
And then there was Marijke ! She 's got 78,2 %, isn't she great ?? Well she did work hard enough that's for sure. She can wallow in her vacation and enjoy herself.
They just left for the coast, mum is taking her grandchildren to the beach. Yesterday the weather was great, lovely, hot, summery, but then there usually follows a storm, which is today. It will start in the west coming from France, and the coastline is in the west of course. Hopefully it will be gone by the time they get there??? I am of for work now...
Update, we had the rain and a bit of thunder, they are still dry... it is now just after 2 p.m.
One of the headmasters was in New Zealand over Christmas, I just saw her photo-book, LOVELY!
It does look beautiful but never lasts very long. Still we had snow this year after a long wait. Winters aren't what they used to be any more. So we had a white Easter this year. Well it is different. My sister went skiing, they had loads and loads of snow!
We all are on a two weeks break now , which is nearly finished. It's been very very wet and cold.
This afternoon I took my mum for a coffee to a friend who owns a coffee shop and chocolates store, guess what else we bought? Maybe you can have a look at www.leonidas.be. There is a store in Sydney at the Chiffley towers. Always worth to check out. Our favourites are the white ones with or without a nut hmmmmmm.
Tomorrow I am having lunch with a friend, I already know what I will be eating, a goats cheese salad. It all compensates the bad cold and wet weather. Hans is away on a ''weekend'' with the youth club (association?). They had to be dressed as touristic as they could be. They always dress up when they "travel". Marijke is working hard for an exam and presentations. Jan is enjoying the break, I cleaned a lot, Maurice had to earn the living.
Robbe is celebrating his conformation on Sunday, so afterwards big party Italian style, it was supposed to be outdoors but the plans have changed.! s
We did have some snow for at least 2 hours
the birthday boy Hans and Mirage Jan the husband the grandparents, or the in-laws
The Easter bunny has been
We' ve got a daughter who passed her exams in full glory? Any figure above fifteen and she's got it. We are very proud parents. She is very happy! Well she worked for it so a well earned holiday is coming up. For all of us really only Maurice has to earn our bread next week.
Half of Belgium will go skiing, the rest will go anywhere I suppose. We 've got a few things planned. Cleaning, shopping maybe a movie. We start partying, on Saturday at the harmony and on Sunday we celebrate Robbe (26/1) 12 and Lise's(2/2) 14 birthday. When Lise was born, we left the next day for Australia. The day before we got home then after 2 months ( I was then very pregnant with Jan!) she was baptised.
On Monday I think we will have to sleep in.
We 'll keep you posted...
These are 2 canvasses I made myself, or I ordered them at least, but it are our pictures from Australia.
They look good don't they? The pictures from Melbourne and Sydney are from years ago.
As you can see the stoofvlees is looking good, it tastes just fine but needs a bit more cookingso all the flesh falls apart, yummie. Tomorrow it will be even better...
Off course I used a Westmalle to bring to taste. There are also the secret herbes, off course.
Do you have a nice full moon as we have now?
If you like to know where I work you can go to www. mariagaarde.be. If you look at the air photo you can see at the left on the bottom a little building, well I did clean that today for 3 hours. My hands are a bit sore from all the wringing(?)
If you go to rondleiding I work ussually in the j shaped building, number 10 and the one on the athletic piste.
