Daffney updates fans on her injury status Posted by Mark Virginia on 04/22/2010 at 05:55 PM
Daffney has posted a new blog entry, discussing her recent injury, here is what she had to say
Hello Daffanatics!
Just wanted to write ya'll a note to give you a little more info about lil 'ol me. I know my injuries were reported as having a severely bruised sternum, and a really bad stinger (common wrestling/football injury) but I also had a minor concussion. Thankfully - the hit to the head was nowhere near as bad last October when I decided jumping in barbed wire looked like fun.
I sunset flipped my opponent but she stayed standing - then she sat down which caused the bruised sternum. Honestly, after that, I went into auto-pilot mode. I do not remember the rest of the match - even the finishing move (sitdown spinebuster) and the 1-2-3. You can ask any wrestler if they have finished a match while they were unconscious, and almost everyone of them will tell you they have.
Next thing I remember was Andrew Thomas (our awesome ref) saying, "Trainer!" He said I was laying there with my eyes wide open and asked me numerous times if I was okay - but I must have been in my own little world as I recall nothing of that.
When the trainers & everyone came to the ring, our TNA on site trainer came up near my head and I told him that my lower sternum hurt. I also told him my neck hurt - yet felt weird and it felt very warm. He then told me to go ahead and straighten my leg. From the hush that fell and tense vibe in the air, I said, " It's not moving, is it?" They all distracted me with other routine questions. A few minutes later he asked me to wiggle my toes. Same tense air that could be cut with a butter knife. Me: "They're not moving, huh?" The whole time I just stared straight to the top of the Impact Zone and prayed. Everyone around me was saying reassuring things so I just stayed still and answered questions. The next time I was asked to wiggle my toes, I could feel them going - and there was a collected sigh of relief. Stingers - (especially bad ones) can make you go numb for a short while - so once the sensation came back I kept praying, "It's just a stinger. And NO - my sternum/ribs aren't broken..." X-rays at the hospital showed just that. :)
Are you there God? It's me...Daff. :)
SO! Not much one can do for those injuries. A stinger is just VERY scary at first. Then your neck tightens up and is sore - so I have already begun some stretching. The sternum is a deep bruise. So that will just take a little while.... But ya'll know me...I'm a fighter!
Let me also take this opportunity to say how sorry I am to you, Angelina, for injuring your arm. I wish you a very speedy recovery and am SOOOO glad you won't need surgery!!!!
And to Gen AKA LuFisto. Please let's all pray for her. I didn't know about her stroke until I read about my own injuries and was completely shocked. I just saw her at the last Shimmer tapings and she was sweet, bubbly Fisto! I am sending positive energy to you, you crazy Canuck!
John Morrison def. Jack Swagger in a Non-Title Match Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler def. Matt Hardy & R-Truth JTG def. Mike Knox Michelle McCool & Layla def. Beth Phoenix & Mickie James CM Punk & Luke Gallows def. Rey Mysterio & Kane
UNCASVILLE, Conn. CM Punk & Luke Gallows def. Rey Mysterio & Kane (PHOTOS | WATCH) CM Punk and his loyal disciples Luke Gallows and Serena brandished a barbers chair at ringside, promising to induct a new follower into The Straight Edge Society and shave his head.
Their explosive match with Rey Mysterio and Kane was intense from beginning to end. As Gallows and The Big Red Monster brawled outside the ring, The Master of the 619 propelled himself off the ropes, directly at The Second City Saint. When Punk caught him in mid-air and tried to execute the Go to Sleep, Mysterio countered, trying to pull his opponent down to the canvas for the pin. But, the resourceful Punk kept his balance, dropping down onto Mysterios shoulders for the quick victory.
Although Mysterio was unable to dial up the 619, he did kick Punk into the barbers chair after the match. However, before he could continue the hair cut he had started to give Punk on Raw, Serena jumped in between them and allowed her savior to escape.

Edge and Chris Jericho confronted each other before Extreme Rules (PHOTOS | WATCH) Standing inside a steel cage, Chris Jericho described the ways he will use the dreaded structure to end Edges career at Extreme Rules. Despite The Rated-R Superstars obviously injured ankle, he emerged with resolve and soon went on the extreme offensive. Although his decorated pay-per-view opponent was able to escape Edges onslaught, he left his WWE NXT Rookie Wade Barrett locked inside the cage to take the full force of the enraged Ultimate Opportunists Spear.

Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler def. Matt Hardy & R-Truth (PHOTOS | WATCH) After Dolph Ziggler hurled Matt Hardy into the metal ring post, Drew McIntyre relentlessly stomped his adversarys head into the unforgiving steel steps. Although Hardy heroically tried to battle on, the official made the determination that he could not continue the match. After the bell, the Chosen One continued his brutal assault on the war-torn Hardy.
John Morrison def. Jack Swagger in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH) Miraculously bouncing back from Jack Swaggers Gutwrench Powerbomb, The Guru of Greatness triumphed over the World Heavyweight Champion with Starship Pain.
Now that Swagger has suffered back-to-back losses to The Undertaker on Raw and Morrison on SmackDown, can The All-American American reign supreme over Randy Orton at Extreme Rules this Sunday? (Match preview)
WWE Diva Maryse wrote the following on Twitter last night: "Had security escort me back to my place, got attack by a stalker in middle of street in middle of day in WeHo, what the heck, CRAZY! I'm still out of breath, I got sooooo scare! I couldn't talk! I'm alright!"
- The draft will take place on a 3-hour RAW. It will be the first RAW since last summer without a Guest Host.
- As for the format of the show, weve heard that there will be several RAW vs. SmackDown matches with the winning brand getting draft picks.
- The 2010 WWE Supplemental Draft will take place on WWEs website Wednesday, April 28th at noon. This years event will be hosted by Howard Finkel. Well have full coverage of the supplemental draft here on Wednesday.
As for which superstars are getting drafted, the one name that keeps coming up is Randy Orton moving to SmackDown. A few years back when SmackDown moved to MyNetwork TV, WWE stacked the show by moving Triple H and Jim Ross to Friday nights. With SmackDown moving to SyFy in the fall, WWE likely will need to add some star power to the show and Orton is looking like the top candidate to be moved right now.
Batista Finishing Up In WWE Following Tonight's PPV
The following news may contain a spoiler in regards to tonight's WWE Extreme Rules PPV main event, read with caution!!!
The word within the WWE locker room in Baltimore, which plays host to tonights WWE Extreme Rules PPV, is that Batista will be finishing up with the company this week. Batista is set to challenge John Cena tonight in a last man standing match for the Championship.
Batista made headlines dating back to this past January when he made it known he was ready to retire within the year, after being burnt out and his aspirations to become a movie star. A majority of the WWE crew arrived early this weekend in Baltimore for the PPV and those within the backstage area believe Batistas career in the WWE will come to an end shortly following the Extreme Rules PPV.
While this all remains speculation, there is great belief that Batista will indeed retire from the Pro Wrestling ring. Stay tuned as we continue to gather information.
Shad def. Goldust Yoshi Tatsu def. Zack Ryder John Morrison def. Carlito
NXT Rookie Michael Tarver cant catch a break. Not only has the aggravated young competitor continually placed in the bottom of NXT polls, but he has repeatedly been a thorn in the side of his NXT Pro Carlito. Tarvers woes continued on this weeks WWE Superstars, proving once again that making it in WWE is not an easy thing.

John Morrison def. Carlito (PHOTOS | VIDEOS) After the disappointing events of tonights main event, Carlito might be ready to give his NXT Rookie Michael Tarver a failing grade. For the second Thursday in a row, the young competitor attempted to help his NXT Pro grab a victory on WWE Superstars and ended up costing him the match. Still, its hard to say whether or not the Puerto Rican Superstar would have defeated John Morrison anyway. The Friday Night Delight was absolutely explosive in this main event, hitting Carlito with an array of dazzling maneuvers on his way to victory.
Yoshi Tatsu def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | VIDEOS) Few Superstars have been experiencing the kind of success in 2010 that Yoshi Tatsu has been enjoying. Since winning the 26-Man Battle Royal at WrestleMania, the Japanese Superstar has been kicking his way through the competition and continued to do so tonight. Going one-on-one with Long Islands Zack Ryder, Tatsu showed off the educated feet hes known for, destroying his opponent with a series of bone-shattering strikes on his way to victory. After tonights loss, Ryder should add training into his daily schedule of gym, tan, laundry.
Shad def. Goldust (PHOTOS | VIDEOS) Since viciously cutting ties with his Cryme Tyme partner JTG, SmackDowns Shad has been competing with a newfound mean streak. While the WWE Universe may not respect the big mans underhanded actions, they have to appreciate the physical dominance he showed in his match against Goldust tonight. The Bizarre One used everything in his arsenal in an attempt to stop the behemoth from Brooklyn, but he simply couldnt overpower Shad. Look for the same brutality when Shad takes on JTG in a Strap Match at Extreme Rules on Sunday.
On Twitter, Katie Lea commented on her release from WWE yesterday, writing: "omg you guys! v touched by all the love and support... actually a little bit overwhelmed... thank you!!"
Regarding Mickie James' shocking release today from WWE, she was fired because she more than once on the European tour arrived late for the bus, holding up travel.
That was considered the straw that broke the camel's back dating back to her being disciplined by being sent to SmackDown! due to substandard performances and issues with her weight. They were also not happy with her music aspirations. Maria felt the same wrath with her release from WWE. WWE management doesn't take kindly to their talent doing outside projects while working a full-time WWE schedule.
According to a source, she had just beaten a bad staph infection and was lucky to return in time for Wrestlemania. Many felt she should have been more professional in her dealings with WWE.
- According to Dave Meltzer, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis has begun talks with TNA Wrestling. Maria was released from her WWE contract on February 26th.
The latest news on Paul Heyman to TNA Posted by Mark Virginia on 04/21/2010 at 06:24 PM

Vince Russo, as we have reported over the last several weeks, said he is going to take a break from writing, but will remain with the company and move to Nashville as noted last week. Russo intends to continue giving his input, but will remove himself as head writer. The move to step down was based solely on Russo, as he has been cited as being burnt out over the last few weeks.
With Russos decision to step down as head writer, Dave Meltzer reports that there has been an escalation in talk regarding Paul Heyman coming in. Those within TNA, and are close to Heyman, believe he will indeed sign with the company. Heyman signing with TNA would come off as a surprise when you consider his past relationship with Bischoff, whom have both thrown verbal jabs against one another throughout the 90s decade.
As reported earlier, Triple H has replaced Batista in WWE Studios' latest film, Killing Karma. Though Batista had been publicly announced for the lead role a few months back, a decision was made to pull him from the movie because he is nearing the end of his current contract and has yet to commit to a new deal. He is said to be furious over the company's decision.
Batista has been telling those close to him that he's pondering retirement from the wrestling industry in order to focus on acting. However, he's made similar statements in the past and would ultimately re-sign with the company. Though, there may be more to it this time as WWE was unable to re-sign him quickly enough to feel comfortable basing a movie project around him.
Justin Gabriel def. David A-List Otunga Darren Young def. Skip Sheffield and Michael Tarver Heath Slater def. Chris Jericho
UNCASVILLE, Conn. In the biggest upset in WWE NXT history, NXT Rookie Heath Slater defeated six-time World Champion Chris Jericho! Also during week nine of competition, NXT Rookie Skip Sheffield won the Rock em Sock em Rookies Challenge, earning an exclusive WWE.com feature.
Heath Slater def. Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH) NXT Rookie Heath Slater earned the biggest victory of his NXT Rookie career Tuesday night, besting six-time World Champion Chris Jericho! And to the one-man rock bands credit, he did it without the presence of his WWE Pro, Christian, who was still stranded in Europe due to the Icelandic volcano eruption.
Slater showed no fear against his WWE Pro opponent, reversing Jerichos attempts at the Walls of Jericho, and rolling him up for the pin for the monumental victory. Jericho and his NXT Rookie, Wade Barrett, were left stunned after the match, as Jericho argued the call with the WWE official: Theres no way! Im the best in the world at what I do! (WATCH: Meet NXT Rookie Wade Barrett)
With the win, Slater left a strong impact on the WWE Pros just three weeks before the next Pros Poll will reveal the Rookie Rankings. Slater, who is ranked No. 4, upped his record to 5-2. (WATCH: Meet NXT Rookie Heath Slater)
Darren Young def. Skip Sheffield and Michael Tarver (PHOTOS | WATCH) Tired of being overlooked by the WWE Pros and the WWE Universe, NXT Rookie Michael Tarver proclaimed himself a bulldog off the leash and offered an open challenge to anyone in the WWE NXT locker room. This came after an angry Tarver refused to compete in the weekly NXT Rookie Challenge, and dance on a balloon like a little monkey for your entertainment.
Hoping to impress his WWE Pro, William Regal, who was stuck in Europe due to the Icelandic volcano eruption, NXT Rookie Skip Sheffield accepted the dare. Then, WWE Pro CM Punk offered his NXT Rookie, Darren Young, who earned a huge victory over Luke Gallows last week.
Clearly still troubled by his loss to Young, the Straight Edge Societys Luke Gallows tried to interfere in the Triple Threat Match. His efforts to sabotage Young backfired, as the South Beach party boy pinned Tarver. With the victory, Youngs record increased to 6-2 the highest of any NXT Rookie after week nine, while Sheffields dropped to 0-5 and Tarvers fell to 0-6.
Justin Gabriel def. David A-List Otunga (PHOTOS | WATCH) In his first singles match against fellow NXT Rookie, David A-List Otunga, Justin Gabriel earned a victory, thanks in part to Otungas WWE Pro, R-Truth. Otunga reached for R-Truth, looking for help, but his WWE Pro refused, allowing Gabriel to roll up the A-List NXT Rookie for the win. Gabriel celebrated his win with his WWE Pro, Matt Hardy, while Otunga seethed over R-Truths reluctance to interfere. With his win, Gabriels record increased to 5-2, while Otungas fell to 4-3
Skip Sheffield won the Rock em Sock em Rookies Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH) Last week, NXT Rookie Wade Barrett wowed the WWE Universe with his speaking skills in the Talk the Talk Challenge. This week, things got more physical as the NXT Rookies squared off against each other in the Rock em Sock em Rookies Challenge. After a three-round competition, Skip Sheffield was declared the winner after knocking fellow NXT Rookie, Darren Young, off his pedestal. The Cornfed Meathead, who finished second in the two previous Rookies Challenges, made a huge impression on the WWE Pros and the WWE Universe, and earned a special feature on WWE.com, taking over the entire website! (NEW SHEFFIELD IN ACTION PHOTOS | NEW SHEFFIELD STUDIO PHOTOS)
In just three weeks, the second Pros Poll will be revealed, and the NXT Rookie ranked last will be eliminated from the competition! Therefore, the NXT Rookies must not only survive the intensifying pressure, but also thrive on it to become WWEs newest breakout Superstar. The winner will earn a title match against the champion of his choice, live on pay-per-view.

The following are some excerpts from a recent interview with Chris Jericho from The Sun out of the UK:
Jericho on possibility of joining TNA: "Never say never. I hope they do great and although I've taken jabs at Eric Bischoff on Twitter, I like him and I'm happy that he's in TNA... So it would have to be some kind of really crazy circumstance for me to not be working there until the day I retire."
