Randy Orton responds to recent assault charges Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/20/2010 at 05:27 PM
Randy Orton posted the following message on his website about the alleged incident that took place after the Boston show at Kowloons restaurant:
Heres what happened: I walked out of Kowloons Friday night around 12:30-1 a.m. with Santino and a police officer escort. As I was being rudely hounded for pictures and autos (I had a 6:40 a.m. flight through Minni to Lincoln, then a drive to Omaha, a match, a drive back to Omaha, then a charter to Minni, and a driver to Rochester for the next show the next day, btw), I was confronted by an older women who said: Hey Randy, you spit on my handicapped son a few years ago at a show, what do you have to say about that? My replay...`So Sue me. Then I proceeded to my car, with Santino and the cop and drove back to our hotel by the Boston airport. I know I have been a bit of a hothead in the past, but I DID NOT spit gum and call names to any child. The women is claiming I called her son a `retard 3 times, and spit gum in his face. Come on people, even at my worst temperament, I would never call a handicapped child something awful like that. Ill actually sign anything for any child with any disability. I heard just today from WWE attorneys that this women filed assault charges against me 4 days later? Hmmm, oh, and what about the dozens of cops at the restaurant that were there for crowd control since there were over 100 wrestling fans there? Not to mention the cop that escorted me to my freaking car. Ill be happy when this is over. I guess if Ive learned anything from this, it is not to ever challenge anyone to sue me.
The woman who appears with CM Punk on this weeks Friday Night Smackdown as a fan is actually WWE developmental Diva Serena Deeb, who had a brief appearance on ECW last year. Theres talk that this could be her call-up to the main roster.

While details have yet to be disclosed, it has been confirmed that Alissa Flash is gone from TNA Wrestling.
Flash, whose real name is Melissa Anderson, had been with the company since January 2008 when she began working under a hood as Raisha Saeed, Awesome Kong's mouthpiece.

She hadn't appeared on television since December and was not used at this week's slate of television tapings.
Word of Anderson's departure from the company first began circulating after a report on the Diva-Dirt.com website yesterday. She later confirmed said report via her Twitter account.
Her bio has since been removed from the TNA website.
- Kip James was hanging out backstage at this week's television tapings. Though he was recently dropped as a talent, he is still under contract to the organization as officials are trying to find a new role for him.

The latest on Ken Anderson's status with TNA Posted by Mark Virginia on 01/21/2010 at 01:15 PM
Dave Meltzer recently reported that Ken Anderson is working on a per-night deal.
Anderson then posted this message in response to the report:
"I guess that those 6 copies of paperwork that my manager, agent, lawyer, and TNA officials toiled over for a month & I signed & overnighted weren't contracts. I thought they were, I thought I had signed for a one year deal, but then again, what the hell do I know...?"
- TNA star Daniels took a shot at the company ditching the six-sided ring on Twitter with the following comment: "Good news and bad news for TNA fans-> Bad: the six sided ring isn't coming back! Good: next month we'll implement two three sided rings!"

Flair then brings out the 'next heavyweight champion' A.J. Styles. Styles comes to the ring in a suit and he is accompanied by a woman. Styles puts over the beautiful women in the ring and then the crowd chants 'You are married'. This causes Styles to laugh and there was an awkward pause. A.J. cuts a promo that utilized a style similar to his new mentor.
* Kurt Angle comes to the ring with Hulk Hogan. Hogan says that he has changed his mind about Genesis being Angle's last title shot because he runs the show. Hogan announces that Kurt Angle versus A.J. Styles will happen tonight. Hogan says that it is 'damn real'.

* Nasty Boys defeated Kevin Nash and Eric Young when Saggs pinned Young after a pumphandle drop.
* Mr. Anderson comes to the ring to cut a promo. He talks about his victory over Abyss at Genesis. Abyss is standing behind him and he attacks Anderson until Anderson is able to get out of the ring.

TNA Knockout Awesome Kong, who got into a physical altercation with TNA backstage announcer Bubba the Love Sponge at Monday's iMPACT! tapings, has given notice that she's leaving the company.
Kong's departure from the company appears to be effective immediately, and she said during the video cast that she informed TNA she won't be attending the upcoming UK tour.
It should be noted that many TNA wrestlers and knockouts who have told management they are leaving have been persuaded into staying, but at this point Awesome Kong's relationship with TNA appears to be off.

Kane def. Chris Jericho by Count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH) The main event of WWE Superstars pitted the humongous Kane against the cagey Chris Jericho. Though fans might have expected The Big Red Monster to plow right through his smaller opponent, the first-ever Undisputed Champion showed the WWE Universe exactly why he claims to be the best in the world at what he does. Jericho put up a tremendous fight, attempting to fell his monstrous opponent through the relentless application of a vicious sleeper hold. It would take much more than that to take Kane out of commission however, as the nefarious Superstar soon found out. Running out of options, Jericho escaped from the ring, allowing himself to be counted out, giving The Big Red Monster the win.
Shelton Benjamin def. Vance Archer (PHOTOS | WATCH) Since his debut, Vance Archer has made quite an impact on ECW, tearing through any competitor brave enough to step in the ring against him. One Superstar, however, has proven himself to be a difficult obstacle for the intense young ring warrior, and his name is Shelton Benjamin. Late in 2009 The Gold Standard proudly handed Archer his first loss via disqualification, and on the most recent WWE Superstars, Benjamin achieved another first as he rolled up his nemesis to become the first ring warrior to pin the ruthless athlete.
Kelly Kelly def. Jillian (PHOTOS | WATCH) On a normal week, Jillians sense-shattering singing is confined to Raw, but this week the WWE Universe found itself covering its ears on Thursday night as the tone-deaf songstress opened WWE Superstars with her rendition of a Miley Cyrus song. Luckily for the fans in attendance, her performance was interrupted by the arrival of her opponent, Kelly Kelly. The blonde bombshell continued her campaign to save our eardrums by pinning Jillian and sending her packing.
Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft vs. Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu ECW Champion Christian def. William Regal (Disqualification)
GREENVILLE, S.C. Domination is the one thing on No. 1 contender Ezekiel Jacksons mind, and with his mentor, William Regal, on his side, Big Zeke is ready to do whatever it takes to become the new ECW Champion at Royal Rumble.
ECW Champion Christian def. William Regal (Disqualification) (PHOTOS | WATCH) Captain Charisma earned his second win against The British Brawler in just six days. But this week on ECW on Syfy, Christian defeated Regal by disqualification when the gargantuan No. 1 contender Ezekiel Jackson became involved in the match. The ECW Champion never had a chance to have a victory celebration, as Regal and Jackson double-teamed him with a devastating, brutal attack, leaving him helpless in the ring.
With less than two weeks to Royal Rumble, Big Zeke is gaining the momentum he needs to be victorious in the ECW Title match against Christian. But will the ever-resilient Captain Charisma bounce back and prove why hes held the ECW Title since July, as the longest-reigning champion in WWE? Or will the powerhouse Jackson continue his path of total domination with William Regal at his side?
Zack Ryders major announcement (PHOTOS | WATCH) Zack Ryder returned to ECW on Syfy this week, still bragging about ending Tommy Dreamers career weeks ago, and boasted about his recent win over The Hurricane. The cocky Long Island loudmouth announced to the WWE Universe that he is the new heart and soul superhero of ECW, Zack Ryder. But after ECW ring announcer Savannah accidentally botched the exact wording of Ryders new self-given title, his girlfriend, Rosa Mendes, took care of the situation, telling off Savannah in Spanish. But during the Divas scuffle, The Hurricane appeared, attacking Ryder out of nowhere.
Will The Hurricane and Ryder get a rematch in the ring? Or will another Superstar step up to try to quiet the Long Island loudmouth?
Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft vs. Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH) The ongoing rivalry between ECW newcomers Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft and ECWs odd couple, Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu, intensified this week when these duos met in tag team action. In recent singles action, Barreta and Tatsu each earned victories, but this week, it was the video game-playing team who stole a victory when Croft pinned the battle-tested veteran, Goldust, giving them the upper hand for now.
These brash best buddies have promised theyre going to change the world and have Slammy Award aspirations. But is this the end of their rivalry with Goldust & Tatsu? Who will challenge ECWs newest tag team next?
A special edition of The Abraham Washington Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) The Abraham Washington Show sported an international flair Tuesday night, as Raws Santino Marella filled in as special guest host of the critically-acclaimed talk show. After offering WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas an Italian lesson, ECWs Moscow Mauler, Vladimir Kozlov, joined the show. The former Ruthless Roundtable member wanted to clear up a few misconceptions the WWE Universe may have about him, and admitted he was hanging around with the wrong crowd before. He also professed his love for the United States, as well as all it has to offer, such as chili cheese fries and Hannah Montana.
Whats next for Kozlov in the Land of the Extreme? Will he be able to convince the WWE Universe hes changed his wicked ways?

As noted earlier, New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kazuchika Okada is headed to TNA Wrestling, according to a message on the Puroresu Spirit Facebook.com page. Okada, who is known as the Young Lion, will wrestle in the United States for TNA to gain experience until he's ready to come back to New Japan and be a top competitor.
The official announcement reads: As for the 22 year old Kazuchika Okada, NJPW has high hopes for the Young Lion as they plan to send him to train and wrestle for TNA Wrestling. The President of NJPW Sugabayashi has stated that Okada is still young and that the plan is for Okada to stay as long as needed for him to come back to NJPW and become a real contender. So at this time it looks like he may be in TNA for the next 2-3 years.
WWE Champion Sheamus def. Evan Bourne Mark Henry def. Jack Swagger in an "All-American American" Challenge John Cena & Kofi Kingston def. The Legacy Eve & Gail Kim def. Maryse & Alicia Fox Randy Orton def. Chris Masters Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle def. United States Champion The Miz, Big Show & Jon Heder
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - In the new comedy When In Rome, starring Raws special guest co-hosts Jon Heder and Don Johnson, a woman finds herself engulfed by an over abundance of affection from her suitors. Unlike the premise of their movie, though, Heder and Johnson found themselves surrounded by anything but love as Raw Superstars turned on one another in the lead up to the Royal Rumble.
Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle def. United States Champion The Miz, Big Show & Jon Heder (PHOTOS | WATCH) Jon Heder has demonstrated his unique ability as an actor. As a wrestler, not so much. The When in Rome star teamed with the newly formed squad of United States Champion The Miz & Big Show to take on Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle.
While Miz & Show assured Heder hed be just fine in their hands, when The Worlds Largest Athlete ended up outside the ring in pain, the actor was forced to enter the ring, where he suffered a humiliating loss and had to have his co-star, Don Johnson, escort him out.
Before the celebration kicked off, though, John Cena grabbed a mic and informed the match participants that it will be he who proves to be the last man standing at Royal Rumble. As to be expected, Big Show, Triple H and Shawn Michaels each took exception. So much so, in fact, that DX proceeded to toss Show and Cena over the top rope and outside the ring. And then, in a shocking show of independence, The Game heaved his own partner HBK over the top rope, telling him that the WWE Championship and WrestleMania are the two things he lives for. And that he, too, will compete in the 2010 Royal Rumble Match.
Psych stars James Roday and Dule Hill act as special guest hosts next week Fellow USA Network stars James Roday and Dule Hill, from the hit series Psych, will put their special powers on display next week when the pair drops by Raw as special guest hosts.
Randy Orton def. Chris Masters (PHOTOS | WATCH) Turn about is fair play. And since Randy Orton looked on as WWE Champion Sheamus battled Evan Bourne earlier in the night, it seemed only fitting for The Celtic Warrior to look on as The Viper clashed with Chris Masters. The No. 1 contender for the Irishmans title managed to best Masters size and strength for the win. Thats when he realized how determined his Royal Rumble opponent can be.
Sheamus climbed into the ring and nailed The Vipers face with his massive boot, leaving Orton motionless on the canvas.
Gail Kim & Eve def. Alicia Fox & Maryse (PHOTOS | WATCH) And then there were four. In the Divas Championship Tournament, the matchups include Eve versus Maryse and Gail Kim versus Alicia Fox. This week, however, the WWE Universe got to witness Gail Kim & Eve take on Alicia Fox & Maryse. As their tag partners looked on intently, Eve overcame the leggy onslaught of Alicia with a submission move to gain a bit of momentum heading into the tournament semi-finals.
John Cena & Kofi Kingston def. The Legacy (PHOTOS | WATCH) Revenge seems almost too good for Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. During last weeks Triple Threat Match to determine the No. 1 contender to the WWE Title, The Legacy duo stuck their noses in the match, causing their ringleader Randy Orton to prevail over John Cena and Kofi Kingston. This week, it was payback time.
Cena paired with Kofi against Rhodes & DiBiase, and the two seemed to relish taking out their frustrations on the underhanded henchmen. While The Legacy are certainly a force to contend with in the ring, a miscue between the multi-generation Superstars allowed Cena & Kofi to capitalize and earn the W.
Guest co-host Jon Heder arranged Unified Tag Team Champions DX vs. United States Champion The Miz & Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) Like his most infamous character, Napoleon Dynamite, actor Jon Heder probably got picked on growing up. After all, what type of damaged personality would willingly choose to pair up United States Champion The Miz with Big Show? While the actor and his co-host, Don Johnson, addressed the Knoxville faithful, Heder even arranged a main event match: Miz & Big Show vs. Unified Tag Team Champions DX.
Later in the evening, after a rather abrupt negotiation, compliments of Hornswoggle and Triple H, Miz & Show agreed to make the bout a Six-Man Tag Team Match featuring DX & Hornswoggle against Miz, Show & Jon Heder!
Mark Henry def. Jack Swagger in an All-American American Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH) Things are getting a tad embarrassing for Jack Swagger. For the second week running, the former collegiate All-Star wrestler issued an All-American American Challenge, in which the winner is the Superstar who tosses his opponent over the top rope. After losing the challenge to Santino Marella last Monday, Swagger had his hands full against Santinos substitute, Mark Henry. The Worlds Strongest Man successfully heaved Swagger over the top rope and into a state of uncontrollable frustration.
WWE Champion Sheamus def. Evan Bourne (PHOTOS | WATCH) WWE Champion Sheamus continues to punctuate his matches with exclamation points of pain. This week, The Celtic Warrior once again faced Evan Bourne, who wanted a rematch after losing to Sheamus two weeks ago.
The match took on an ominous undercurrent as Randy Orton, who will challenge Sheamus in a title match at Royal Rumble, observed from outside the ring. Unfortunately for Bourne, the Irishman seemed intent on sending a message as he destroyed his opponent for the victory and cast an intensely defiant glare at The Viper.
World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker confronted Mr. McMahon and Shawn Michaels (PHOTOS | WATCH) Watching Bret Harts return to WWE after a 12-year absence, many of those watching shared the Hit Mans sense of relief and forgiveness. Then, after Mr. McMahon appeared to make amends with his longtime nemesis, it was difficult not to also feel the sting of betrayal when The Chairman kicked Hart and left him writhing on the canvas.
Mr. McMahon did not apologize for his actions. On the contrary, he dug his heels in even farther. After stating last week that Hart would never again be seen in WWE, The Chairman insisted that Hart deserved such rough treatment.
One man who felt Harts pain acutely emerged to not only confront Mr. McMahon for his questionable actions, but also to meet head-on with a longtime nemesis of his own. World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker appeared on Raw and bluntly put The Chairman in his place, even calling his actions cowardly. As Mr. McMahon slipped out of the ring, The Deadman went on to address Shawn Michaels question: Will Undertaker battle HBK again in a rematch of their legendary WrestleMania bout?
The answer, sadly for WWE Universe members, was an emphatic no. The Phenom may have denied HBK, but Michaels realized that his ticket could be stamped were he to win the Royal Rumble, in which case he could choose the World Championship for which he would like to compete.
WWE tries out new character at RAW taping Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/19/2010 at 01:22 PM
Thanks to PWPix.net for the following:
After numerous years in WWE's developmental system, Ryan Reeves participated in his first dark match before last night's Raw telecast. Going under the name Skip Sheffield, he defeated Chavo Guerrero. Reeves, who has undertaken a cowboy persona, cut a promo before his match about being from the South. He got the crowd to chant "yip yip yip" with him, which is something he does at Florida Championship Wrestling live events.
After being one of the eight finalists on WWE's fourth installment of Tough Enough, Reeves was signed to a developmental contract. He spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling from 2005 to 2007 before being released in January of the latter year. Reeves later returned to OVW and managed to score a second developmental contract with WWE following a September 2008 tryout.
He initially debuted in FCW with a Terminator-esque character he developed called Ryback, but adopted the Skip Sheffield persona this past fall.
These rumors seem to come up every year, but a lot of people within WWE are still wondering if The Undertakers last match will be at Wrestlemania 26 this year. Taker is said to be in real bad shape right now and a lot of people are privately wondering how long he will last.
Update on John Cena's health issues Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/19/2010 at 11:21 AM

It was recently reported that John Cena is suffering from back problems, but he is also having issues with his neck, both of which stem from his surgery a few years back. With Cena being one of the guys who legitimately travels on the road about 300 days a year, it definitely lessens the time has to recover from any ring injuries.
