WWE Champion Sheamus def. Evan Bourne
Mark Henry def. Jack Swagger in an "All-American American" Challenge
John Cena & Kofi Kingston def. The Legacy
Eve & Gail Kim def. Maryse & Alicia Fox
    Randy Orton def. Chris Masters
Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle def. United States Champion The Miz, Big Show & Jon Heder

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - In the new comedy When In Rome, starring Raw’s special guest co-hosts Jon Heder and Don Johnson, a woman finds herself engulfed by an over abundance of affection from her suitors. Unlike the premise of their movie, though, Heder and Johnson found themselves surrounded by anything but love as Raw Superstars turned on one another in the lead up to the Royal Rumble.

Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle def. United States Champion The Miz, Big Show & Jon Heder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Jon Heder has demonstrated his unique ability as an actor. As a wrestler, not so much. The When in Rome star teamed with the newly formed squad of United States Champion The Miz & Big Show to take on Unified Tag Team Champions DX & Hornswoggle.

While Miz & Show assured Heder he’d be just fine in their hands, when The World’s Largest Athlete ended up outside the ring in pain, the actor was forced to enter the ring, where he suffered a humiliating loss and had to have his co-star, Don Johnson, escort him out.

Before the celebration kicked off, though, John Cena grabbed a mic and informed the match participants that it will be he who proves to be the last man standing at Royal Rumble. As to be expected, Big Show, Triple H and Shawn Michaels each took exception. So much so, in fact, that DX proceeded to toss Show and Cena over the top rope and outside the ring. And then, in a shocking show of independence, The Game heaved his own partner HBK over the top rope, telling him that the WWE Championship and WrestleMania are the two things he lives for. And that he, too, will compete in the 2010 Royal Rumble Match.

Psych stars James Roday and Dule Hill act as special guest hosts next week
Fellow USA Network stars James Roday and Dule Hill, from the hit series Psych, will put their special powers on display next week when the pair drops by Raw as special guest hosts.

Randy Orton def. Chris Masters (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Turn about is fair play. And since Randy Orton looked on as WWE Champion Sheamus battled Evan Bourne earlier in the night, it seemed only fitting for The Celtic Warrior to look on as The Viper clashed with Chris Masters. The No. 1 contender for the Irishman’s title managed to best Masters’ size and strength for the win. That’s when he realized how determined his Royal Rumble opponent can be.

Sheamus climbed into the ring and nailed The Viper’s face with his massive boot, leaving Orton motionless on the canvas.

Gail Kim & Eve def. Alicia Fox & Maryse (PHOTOS | WATCH)
And then there were four. In the Divas Championship Tournament, the matchups include Eve versus Maryse and Gail Kim versus Alicia Fox. This week, however, the WWE Universe got to witness Gail Kim & Eve take on Alicia Fox & Maryse. As their tag partners looked on intently, Eve overcame the leggy onslaught of Alicia with a submission move to gain a bit of momentum heading into the tournament semi-finals.

John Cena & Kofi Kingston def. The Legacy (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Revenge seems almost too good for Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. During last week’s Triple Threat Match to determine the No. 1 contender to the WWE Title, The Legacy duo stuck their noses in the match, causing their ringleader Randy Orton to prevail over John Cena and Kofi Kingston. This week, it was payback time.

Cena paired with Kofi against Rhodes & DiBiase, and the two seemed to relish taking out their frustrations on the underhanded henchmen. While The Legacy are certainly a force to contend with in the ring, a miscue between the multi-generation Superstars allowed Cena & Kofi to capitalize and earn the “W.”

Guest co-host Jon Heder arranged Unified Tag Team Champions DX vs. United States Champion The Miz & Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Like his most infamous character, Napoleon Dynamite, actor Jon Heder probably got picked on growing up. After all, what type of damaged personality would willingly choose to pair up United States Champion The Miz with Big Show? While the actor and his co-host, Don Johnson, addressed the Knoxville faithful, Heder even arranged a main event match: Miz & Big Show vs. Unified Tag Team Champions DX.

Later in the evening, after a rather abrupt negotiation, compliments of Hornswoggle and Triple H, Miz & Show agreed to make the bout a Six-Man Tag Team Match featuring DX & Hornswoggle against Miz, Show & Jon Heder!

Mark Henry def. Jack Swagger in an “All-American American” Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Things are getting a tad embarrassing for Jack Swagger. For the second week running, the former collegiate All-Star wrestler issued an “All-American American” Challenge, in which the winner is the Superstar who tosses his opponent over the top rope. After losing the challenge to Santino Marella last Monday, Swagger had his hands full against Santino’s substitute, Mark Henry. The World’s Strongest Man successfully heaved Swagger over the top rope and into a state of uncontrollable frustration.

WWE Champion Sheamus def. Evan Bourne (PHOTOS | WATCH)
WWE Champion Sheamus continues to punctuate his matches with exclamation points of pain. This week, The Celtic Warrior once again faced Evan Bourne, who wanted a rematch after losing to Sheamus two weeks ago.

The match took on an ominous undercurrent as Randy Orton, who will challenge Sheamus in a title match at Royal Rumble, observed from outside the ring. Unfortunately for Bourne, the Irishman seemed intent on sending a message as he destroyed his opponent for the victory and cast an intensely defiant glare at The Viper.

World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker confronted Mr. McMahon and Shawn Michaels (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Watching Bret Hart’s return to WWE after a 12-year absence, many of those watching shared the “Hit Man’s” sense of relief and forgiveness. Then, after Mr. McMahon appeared to make amends with his longtime nemesis, it was difficult not to also feel the sting of betrayal when The Chairman kicked Hart and left him writhing on the canvas.

Mr. McMahon did not apologize for his actions. On the contrary, he dug his heels in even farther. After stating last week that Hart would never again be seen in WWE, The Chairman insisted that Hart deserved such rough treatment.

One man who felt Hart’s pain acutely emerged to not only confront Mr. McMahon for his questionable actions, but also to meet head-on with a longtime nemesis of his own. World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker appeared on Raw and bluntly put The Chairman in his place, even calling his actions cowardly. As Mr. McMahon slipped out of the ring, The Deadman went on to address Shawn Michaels’ question: Will Undertaker battle HBK again in a rematch of their legendary WrestleMania bout?

The answer, sadly for WWE Universe members, was an emphatic “no.” The Phenom may have denied HBK, but Michaels realized that his ticket could be stamped were he to win the Royal Rumble, in which case he could choose the World Championship for which he would like to compete.

WWE tries out new character at RAW taping

WWE tries out new character at RAW taping
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 01/19/2010 at 01:22 PM

Thanks to PWPix.net for the following:

After numerous years in WWE's developmental system, Ryan Reeves participated in his first dark match before last night's Raw telecast. Going under the name Skip Sheffield, he defeated Chavo Guerrero. Reeves, who has undertaken a cowboy persona, cut a promo before his match about being from the South. He got the crowd to chant "yip yip yip" with him, which is something he does at Florida Championship Wrestling live events.

After being one of the eight finalists on WWE's fourth installment of Tough Enough, Reeves was signed to a developmental contract. He spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling from 2005 to 2007 before being released in January of the latter year. Reeves later returned to OVW and managed to score a second developmental contract with WWE following a September 2008 tryout.

He initially debuted in FCW with a Terminator-esque character he developed called Ryback, but adopted the Skip Sheffield persona this past fall.

Update on John Cena's health issues

It was recently reported that John Cena is suffering from back problems, but he is also having issues with his neck, both of which stem from his surgery a few years back. With Cena being one of the guys who legitimately travels on the road about 300 days a year, it definitely lessens the time has to recover from any ring injuries.

TNA updates on Anderson, ODB, and Sabin

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

    - At last word, the former Mr. Kennedy, Ken Anderson, was not under a long-term contract to TNA. He is said to be working show-to-show for the time being.

    - ODB has been working with a ruptured implant as of late, which explains why she pulled a falsie out during the conclusion of her Genesis bout with Tara. The injury occurred a few weeks ago, but she managed to pull through. She worked this week's set of television tapings and will be getting surgery to correct the problem in the next week or so.

    - Chris Sabin, who suffered both a concussion and neck injury off an enzuigiri from Bubba Ray a few months ago, is said to be fine now.

AWESOME KONG SLAAT BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE OM HAITI

BTLS now claims he was attacked by Awesome Kong
Posted by Mark Virginia on 01/19/2010 at 11:33 AM

    Credit: PWInsider.com

Hulk Hogan was a guest on this morning’s Bubba the Love Sponge program and revealed that the reason Bubba the Love Sponge was sent home from yesterday’s production meeting was because he was assaulted by TNA star Awesome Kong.

BUBBA: She was wearing wrestling gear, and she came in on me and sucker punched me right on my left cheeck, and I was like, what’s going on… then she came out me again, hit me again in the mouth, and she goes, “This if for Haiti! This is for Haiti!” and I’m lke “What is going on?” Finally I put my left hand out and push her away from me, and she comes at me again and I just cover up, because I cannot fight back on a woman. Not only will I be fired from TNA, which I probably am, but my radio career is gone if I take a woman out!

HOGAN: I tell you what, after what happened, if you had clocked her you’d have got away with it. What nobody knows, and this is the real truth, that there were certain people there… she should get off the property, she should be fired immediately, that’s it. It was so violent. You could have actually lost an eye, you could have had your teeth knocked out. But, to give you your creedo, you are the one who said not to fire her.

Update on Scott Hall not wrestling at Genesis

Update on Scott Hall not wrestling at Genesis
Posted by Mark Virginia on 01/18/2010 at 01:54 AM

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

There are rumors that Scott Hall claimed he had a groin injury which is why he didn't wrestle at tonight's Genesis PPV with Kevin Nash. The story goes that Hall actually put on his trunks for the first time in a while and did not want to wrestle because he was worried about how he looked. Hall apparently begged to be taken off the card which is why Waltman tagged with Nash.

It was said that Waltman didn't want to wrestle either but obviously ended up doing so. Eric Young was set to be Nash's partner if things with Waltman didn't go through.

According to Bryan Alvarez, TNA made the decision to not use Hall for quite some time before the PPV.

More on the six-sided ring being replaced

More on the six-sided ring being replaced
Posted by Mark Virginia on 01/17/2010 at 08:24 PM

TNA has revamped the Impact Zone for tonight's Genesis PPV as a traditional four-sided ring has been placed alongside a ramp set up all the way from the stage to the ring, similar to how WCW and ECW formerly presented themselves on some PPV events.

Furthermore, there are reports of some fans chanting "We want six sides" live in the building.

Reaction among wrestlers to the company's decision to replace the six-sided ring with a traditional ring is said to be mixed. None of the workers were informed of the change before they arrived to the building for tonight's show, so there was much shock upon arrival.

The decision to get rid of TNA's former trademark was made by both Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.

    - Hulk Hogan made his Pay-Per-View return, kicking off the event by introducing the NEW Impact Zone in Orlando with an updated ring, entrance ramp and more! Hogan talked about TNA being proud to be a wrestling company and promised a huge night and more changes to come! The legend also stated "What are you gonna do Vince McMahon, now that TNA is coming for you?"

    - The first surprise of the night was The Amazing Red's X Division Championship opponent, who was Brian Kendrick! After an amazing, all-out, high-flying bout, Amazing Red pulled off the win by hitting the Code Red finisher on Kendrick!

    - TNA newcomer Sean Morley upset Daniels, beating him with his top rope splash for the pin and win. Daniels hit Morley with all of his high-octane offense, but Morley countered him at every turn. In the end, both Morley and Daniels battled on the top rope, with Morley blocking a hurricanrana and hitting his finisher for the victory.

    - Tara regained the Knockouts Championship by defeating ODB 2-0 in the Best Of 3 Falls match! Tara scored an early pin at the near 3min mark with a small package, then later hit her Widow's Peak finisher on ODB for the pin and the title!

    - "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan and Hernandez became the NEW TNA World Tag Team Champions by defeating The British Invasion! After the action broke down among all the superstars, Matt Morgan was able to hit his Carbon Footprint finisher on Brutus Magnus to get the win and the championship! After the bout, the new titleholders celebrated the huge win!

    - In the back, Abyss and Bobby Lashley got into a brawl, resulting in Abyss knocking Lashley out of tonight's match. Hulk Hogan told Abyss he would still have a bout tonight and that he should leave all the hardcore craziness in the locker room and prove himself in the ring!

    - In a bout filled with plenty of back-and-fourth action and submission skills, Desmond Wolfe got the win with a vicious lariat after The Pope missed a knee in the corner. After hitting the big clotheslines, Wolfe covered Dinero for the pin. Wolfe was accompanied to the ring by a beautiful brunette.

    - Backstage, Eric Bischoff told Jeremy Borash he would no longer be conducting interviews as punishment for helping Mick Foley. Instead, he handed the duties over to Christy Hemme, who interviewed the arriving "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who said he would let everyone know when he was ready why he came to TNA!

    - Next up, Beer Money took on the team of Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman! During the bout, Scott Hall came out from the back and distracted Beer Money, allowing Nash and Waltman to gain the advantage. However, Hall went after a fan at ringside, resulting in Waltman trying to calm Hall down. Inside the ring, Nash went for a powerbomb, but Storm superkicked Nash and sent him into a follow-thru by Roode for the pin and the win! After the bout, Nash wasn't very happy with Waltman and Hall.

    - Up next, it was time for the debut of the major acquisition...who turned out to be MR. ANDERSON! It was a familiar entrance for the new TNA Superstar, who spoke about crossing the line and coming to Total Nonstop Action! However, his first bout would be a challenge as he faced "The Monster" Abyss! In the end, after hitting his "Shock Treatment" on Anderson, Abyss went to the outside to use a chair from a fan. However, Anderson took brass knuckles from his tights and smashed Abyss with them after the referee took the chair away from Abyss. Mr. Anderson comes to TNA Wrestling and wins his debut against Abyss!

    - In an amazing main event match, AJ Styles successfully defended the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Kurt Angle...with unexpected help from Ric Flair! After Angle had Styles trapped in the Ankle Lock, Flair pulled the referee from the ring. Later, Flair threw Styles the World Title, and uncharacteristic of AJ, he used it to knock Angle out! Flair threw referee Earl Hebner back in the ring to register the three count! A very controversial finish to the main event, with AJ Styles using Flair's questionable tactics to get the win! After the bout, AJ and Flair celebrated in the ring and even strutted up the entrance ramp!

    Angelina Love reageert over comeback

Angelina Love comments on her return to TNA
Posted by Mark Virginia on 01/17/2010 at 02:31 PM

As seen this past Thursday night on Impact, Angelina Love made her return to the organization, first appearing in the crowd and hugging Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne prior to their match with Awesome Kong and Hamada. However, after the match, Love turned on The Beautiful People, attacking her former partners and Lacey Von Erich, her replacement in the group, seemingly angry about being replaced.

The two-time Women's Knockout Champion has posted a thank you message to her fans on her MySpace account, thanking them for their incredible support while she was away from the organization late last year.

Here is her message in its entirety:

A BIG Thank You to my Fans!

I just want to take this time to write a big huge THANK YOU to each and every one of my fans. From day one you guys have been so supportive of me and you really showed how much you care during my difficult time at the end of last year.

Not one day went by, not ONE, since I was released where I didnt get a personal message, a comment, an email or something from you fans. Everyday you told me you missed me and you supported me and you couldnt wait to see me back on TV.

That really helped brighten my days when I didnt really know what was going to be happening in my life! None of you HAD to do anything or say anything, but you did and it really meant a lot to me. My manager, Michael Klyzub, worked his butt off to make sure everything would turn out for the best and it sure did

I am officially back on the TNA roster and couldnt be happier about it. I guess I'm starting a new chapter in my career & in my life and I am so excited about it! I'm gonna give it my all as I always do and I hope everyone loves it as much as I know I will. Thank you for being so happy and supportive of my return and thank you for all the youtube videos you made about it! They are all awesome!

2010 has started off amazing and I cant wait to see what will come in the days ahead.

    Love,
    Lauren/Angel/Angelina Love

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that prior to the 1/4 TNA Impact taping, Sting put Ric Flair over huge in front of the entire talent roster, saying that he owes all of his success in pro wrestling to Ric Flair. He went on to say that Flair put him on the pro wrestling map in the late 1980's, and that in addition to being a friend, Flair is also a mentor to him. Sting also said that Flair is the main reason why he decided to stay on with TNA for another year so that he would have the opportunity to work with Flair once again.

Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix by disqualification
    Kane def. Dolph Ziggler
Rey Mysterio def. Batista (Steel Cage Match)

GREEN BAY, Wisc. – Inside the forbidding walls of a steel cage, Rey Mysterio finally became the definitive No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship as the WWE Universe began to brace themselves for the upcoming Royal Rumble. (Full Royal Rumble coverage)

World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker appeared before the WWE Universe, issuing a haunting warning to his two potential challengers that he would defeat whoever proved victorious inside the steel cage. The Demon of Death Valley then informed Unified Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels that he would personally answer his challenge for a WrestleMania rematch on Monday Night Raw. In the highly anticipated main event, Batista looked to be on his way to overcoming his former comrade-in-arms. But as he attempted to drop the Batista Bomb, Mysterio turned the tables, using his adversary’s height and a stunning kick to his opponent to climb the steel cage to ultimate triumph. When The Animal rushed to the door to try and reach the ground first, the masked Superstar slammed it in his face, putting an exclamation point on his towering victory.

Mysterio’s success wins him the right the face The Deadman for the World Title in just more than two weeks at the Royal Rumble. (Match preview)

Chris Jericho def. John Morrison (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After being knocked out in one punch by the legendary fist of “Iron Mike” Tyson on Monday Night Raw, Chris Jericho returned to Friday nights with a huge bruise on his face. He vowed to defeat all 29 other Superstars to win the Royal Rumble Match and then go on to WrestleMania XXVI to become a six-time World Champion.

With Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre coming down to ringside after the action had already begun, the self-proclaimed “best in the world at what he does” proved victorious over The Friday Night Delight. Morrison allowed “The Chosen One’s” presence to momentarily divert his attention from the match, paving the way for Jericho to finish The Guru of Greatness off with a surprise Code Breaker. After the bell, MyIntyre added insult to injury, stepping on the fallen Morrison’s face.

CM Punk & Luke Gallows def. The Great Khali & Matt Hardy, Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty (Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match) (PHOTOS | WATCH)
For the second week in a row, The Second City Saint converted a member of the WWE Universe to the Straightedge Society, shaving his new recruit’s head as a symbol of his transformation from his “past transgressions” into a new way of life. In the process, Punk pledged that he would continue his Straightedge quest by winning the Royal Rumble Match as the first step toward the salvation of society. (PHOTOS | WATCH)

CM Punk & Luke Gallows went on to triumph over three other tag teams, winning the right to face Unified Tag Team Champions D-Generation X for the titles. Though JTG went for the pin on The Straightedge Superstar, he hadn’t noticed that Punk’s “Detoxified Disciple” had tagged himself in. Gallows made short work of the unsuspecting Superstar, hitting him with the Gallows Pole for the monumental victory.

Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix  by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The quickly growing animosity between the highly-charged Mickie James and The Glamazon fueled the fire for their explosive battle. But, when Mickie got trapped upside down in the turnbuckle, The Fabulous Firebird refused to back off, drawing the disqualification.

After the bell, Women's Champion Michelle McCool and Layla emerged. Rather than engage them, Beth opted to leave her venerable opponent to the wolves and make her exit. Lay-Cool proceeded to punish “Piggie James,” an assault that culminated with an earth-shattering Faithbreaker.

Kane def. Dolph Ziggler (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Despite Dolph Ziggler’s success in defeating Kane by count-out one week ago - and their hard-fought Beat the Clock Challenge Match the week before that - the third time was not a charm for the confident Superstar. After numerous attempts to ride the sleeper hold to victory, Ziggler fell at the hands of The Big Red Monster’s mighty chokeslam.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, WWE Diva Maria talked about how she might be leaving WWE at some point.

"I'm starting to do other things and it's partially because one day I want to be a mom and I want to get married and you can't really do that when you're on the road," Maria said. "So I've got to find a job that will allow me to do that."

Maria is releasing an album this spring and she will be appearing on the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice show hosted by Donald Trump.

WWE PROBEERDE JEFF NOG TE OVERHALEN NA MONDAY IMPACT

WWE still wanted Hardy back despite indictment?

According to Dave Meltzer, WWE officials were calling Jeff Hardy as late as 1/5 and were trying to get him to change his mind about joining TNA. Not only was this the day after Hardy appeared on Impact, but also a day after he was indicted on drug charges.

It's an interesting situation because it shows that WWE is softening their stance on the company's drug policy. It says a lot about both WWE and TNA since there was such strong interest in Hardy despite news of his indictment coming out.

    Cena Geblesseerd?

The match may have been changed because word is that John Cena is plagued by back problems with bulging discs. No word yet on the severity of Cena’s injury or what may come out of it.
