Dakota "Maverick" Darsow, Lupe Santiago en "Prime Cut" Jon Cutler ontslagen wegens wwe drug policy

WWE firing tied to drug policy violation

As reported earlier, World Wrestling Entertainment has parted ways with Dakota "Maverick" Darsow (son of former WWE wrestler Barry "Demolition Smash" Darsow), Lupe Santiago (tall, Hispanic bodybuilder looking wrestler) and "Prime Cut" Jon Cutler (Winnipeg native signed last year). All three individuals were informed of their termination from the company by WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis prior to last night's Florida Championship
    Wrestling television taping in Tampa.

In an update, the word is that one of the wrestlers was let go as a result of a Wellness Policy violation, reports The Sun. The wrestler in question was set to be suspended, but Laurinaitis decided to let him go altogether. Additional details are still being investigated.

Furthermore, more releases are expected to be confirmed, so stay tuned.

    Update over Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy talks about his status with WWE

Chris Kelly passed on an article from The Sun in the UK quoting Jeff Hardy from a recent radio appearance on Danny Salas' radio show on 94.9FM in California where he addressed his status with WWE. Hardy said:

"There is nothing concrete. I know there are rumors out there about me, but we haven't decided yet. Time will tell. Don't believe anything you hear but there is a very good chance of me re-signing, so we'll see."

Highlights aired of Foley’s decree last week about defending the belt as well as Eric Young turning on Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles beating Daniels, only for Daniels to be attacked by Shane Douglas. The voice-over dude also plugged Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash in a Lethal Lockdown match. “You can go back home.”

-Lauren caught up to Shane Douglas backstage, in the same outfit as a week ago. Shane introduced himself to her and said he plans to make his mark on TNA for a long time to come.

    -Impact Open.

-Fireworks opened the show, then Mike Tenay again plugged the Joe vs. Nash match.

1- KIYOSHI & SHEIK ABDUL BASHIR vs. DANIELS & SUICIDE

It’s worth noting (maybe) that an ad for Stacker 2- Six Hour Power is in the middle of the canvas in the ring. Daniels with a suplex on Bashir, then a legdrop off the top by Suicide. Bashir took over and choked Suicide in the corner, with an assist from Kiyoshi. Tenay plugged the appearance at Slammiversary of Detroit Tigers OF Curtis Granderson, who will be in charge of watching the title belt during the King of the Mountain match. The hot tag was made to Daniels, who was able to fight off Bashir and Kiyoshi. Then some double-teaming by the faces, with a Suicde Samoan drop front-roll and a springboard moonsault from Daniels for two. His pin was interrupted by Bashir. Suicide slingshotted himself onto Bashir on the outside, who held his leg in pain as Slick Johnson checked on him. Then, the Motor City Machine Guns and Lethal Consequences attacked Suicide. As Daniels was going to finish off Kiyoshi, Shane Douglas came out and nailed Daniels in the head with a chain. Bashir threw the ref in the ring and the heels got the pin.

WINNERS: Bashir & Kiyoshi, at 5:17. Way too much going on at the end there.

The heels celebrated with the British Invasion after the match.

    [Commercial Break]

-Douglas was still in the ring, with a mic and chair. Before he spoke, they showed what just happened with Douglas and Daniels. Douglas told Daniels that what he’s doing is strictly business. He said he’s a huge fan of TNA wrestling and he watches the show religiously. Who doesn’t? Douglas said he didn’t like Daniels getting a second chance from Jeff Jarrett, because he never got one. Douglas said it was politics and “someone upstairs” doesn’t like him. Douglas told whoever is making the decisions around here (he doesn’t even know and he watches the show religiously!) that he wants a second chance and he’s going to make life miserable for Daniels and TNA until he gets it.

-Jeremy Borash was backstage with Mick Foley, who was wearing a Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball jersey. Foley said the belt is a major league deal and said the Super Bowl only happens once a year, and he equated defending the title to the Super Bowl- you wouldn’t have the Super Bowl multiple times a year. Kip James walked in and begged for some work, talking about how he has a family to support. I can’t wait for him to bring his family on next episode and for Foley to tell his daughter, “tell your daddy he’s still fired.” Foley instead said he’ll see what he can do. Kevin Nash and Jenna Morasca walked in as James left and Nash asked Foley what he was smoking for making a Lethal Lockdown match. Foley said he was mad at Dixie and mad at Spike TV and he said Nash just got caught in the cross-hairs. Foley told him to think of the ratings, but Nash said he only does it for the money. Foley then offered three times the payoff and Nash wanted four times. They settled on an agreement and JB asked why he said things are tight and he couldn’t get Kip work, yet he could give money to Nash. Foley responded that “things are tight....for Kip James.” Then he and JB shared a laugh.

    [Commercial Break]

-Lethal Consequences and the Motor City Machine Guns were backstage with Lauren. Apparently, they’re teaming up to take on Beer Money tonight. Chris Sabin made fun of Lethal Consequences and said they’re teaming up to solve the Suicide mystery. He said it’ll happen at Slammiversary when they take out Suicide. Consequences Creed told Suicide that he has to man-up coming into the X Division and that they’re going to un-mask him. Then he said Beer Money better look out tonight.

2- CONSEQUENCES CREED & CHRIS SABIN vs. BEER MONEY, INC.

Sabin got double-teamed by Beer Money with a suplex as Tenay accused Don West of watching to much “Lie to Me” given his penchant for conspiracy theories and no one telling the truth. Creed tagged in and got tagged by James Storm. They traded right hands but Sabin pulled Storm down by the hair when he went off the ropes. Sabin spit at Robert Roode as West said Sabin reminds him of himself 20 years ago. Now that’s funny. Creed used his athleticism to take down Storm and the odd-couple pairing continued on offense with quick tags. They both went for a springboard move at the same time though, and hit each other in mid-air. That allowed Roode to tag in and take out Sabin, then hit a spinebuster on Creed for two. Storm dispatched of Sabin as Creed and Roode collided in the ring. The British Invasion came out and wanted to get involved, but Team 3D fended them off. Sabin accidentally kicked Creed in the corner, then Storm hit a nice Superkick on Sabin. DWI finished it on Creed.

WINNERS: Beer Money, Inc, at 5:12. Good enough match that raised the question whether MCMG and Lethal Consequences will be able to work together at Slammiversary..

-The Beautiful People were with Lauren in the bowels in the building, searching for someone that was bleeped out.

    [Commercial Break]

-The Beautiful People were beating down Tara backstage (the former Victoria). She made the comeback, but Anglelina Love ran off before she could get her hands on her. Tara takes on Love for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary.

-Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde, another Main Event Mafia interview and a King of the Mountain Qualifier are all still to come tonight.

-Don West did his live-events hard-sell.

-Up next, the 1,324th sit-down interview with the Mafia.

    [Commercial Break]

-Lauren interviewed Daffney backstage and tried to keep things professional. Lauren said Daffney’s issue with Taylor Wilde shouldn’t have come to this point. She said that crazy people don’t follow logic. She generally acted crazy and Daffney said Taylor wasn’t there for her when she needed her, then questioned who the crazy one really is. She seemed happy about getting to hurt Taylor. It seems Daffney is communicating with the same people as Damian Demento.

-Tenay talked to the Main Event Mafia earlier today. He wanted their reaction to the Mafia hit-list Samoa Joe introduced. Nash spoke first, saying Joe has to get through him before he continues his hit-list and that’s not going to be easy. He said any man can die at any time and that he’ll walk out of the Impact Zone tonight and Slammiversary. Booker called Joe’s faction the “One Warrior Independent Nation.” Oh, so close. Steiner yelled about Joe being fat and said he’d make him bleed. Angle did more yelling and said he’d beat up Joe until his mother wouldn’t be able to recognize him. Sting, the calming influence, said that’s not going to happen. He said they’ll take care of Joe on their clock, done his way.

-Taylor Wilde was walking backstage. She faces Daffney next.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video package reviewed the Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde feud.

    3- DAFFNEY vs. TAYLOR WILDE

Tenay said when she was Governor Palin, she transferred into her alter-ego of Daffney. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? West got another zinger in on Tenay- West: “Taylor is the girl you bring home to your mother....then leave her there while you sneak out with Daffney!” Tenay: “So where does that leave Awesome Kong?” West: “Hopefully at your house.”

Not long after the match started, Dr. Stevie and Raven came to ringside. Daffney looked like she scratched Taylor’s back quite hard, then hit a flying elbow on her in the corner. Taylor went to the top and hit a dropkick after Daffney missed an elbowdrop. Roll-through into a pin for two. Taylor went to the second rope but Dr. Stevie provided a distraction that allowed Daffney to taker her out and hit her finisher, the Lobotomy (a spinning Perfect-Plex) for the three.

    WINNER: Daffney, at 2:09.

Daffney continued the beat-down at the behest of Stevie and Raven until Lauren made the save and covered Lauren in the ring to prevent further damage. Raven got on the mic and talked about fans waiting for his re-uniting with Stevie. He said he’s come to help take out Abyss for not following doctor’s orders.

-Jeff Jarrett was on his cell phone backstage...he’s next on Impact.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video package aired on the history of the friendship between Jeff Jarrett and Eric Young.

-Jeff Jarrett made his entrance into the Impact Zone. He didn’t mince words, simply introduced his friend Eric Young. Young walked out with a sour expression on his face. Jarrett said he and Young go way back and he knows he’s had a short fuse lately, but it comes with the territory. Double J reminded Young of his opportunity last week and said that Eric gave it his best shot, but HE won the match. He cheered Young up by saying on another night, he could’ve beat Jarrett. Jeff said he was the better man on that given night. Jarrett said they can chalk last week up to immaturity and get on with their friendship, or they can take this as far as Young wants to go with it.

Young wasn’t happy that Jarrett was trying to set him straight and set him up to apologize. Young told the story about how his father wasn’t there for him. Another daddy issue? He told Jarrett that Jeff was his father-figure when he got to TNA. Young then talked up all of Jeff’s credentials in the ring and in business, starting up TNA himself. This reminds me of how every opponent of Triple H’s has to suck up to him during a feud. The crowd seemed behind Young until he called them maggots, saying he gave them a choice by starting TNA. Young also took a shot at Jarrett’s home life, saying he had the American Dream with a beautiful wife, kids and a house on the lake. Young said they became friends because their childhood wasn’t so different, as Jeff’s dad was “wrestling-first” and didn’t have time for his son and Jeff hated him for it. That’s Young’s story of how it went down, anyway. Young said they made a vow, promising that they’d be better than their fathers. Forty years later, he said, tragedy struck. Young said Jarrett is losing that game, becoming just like his father Jerry. Crowd started chanting “fight, fight.” Young said everything in TNA revolves around Jeff first, and everybody else second. Eric said that’s not why he’s out there though. Young said he feels not for the guys in the back, but for Jeff’s three little girls who have to settle for second place. Jarrett then slapped Young. The two men brawled in the ring as referees broke things up. Jarrett nailed Earl Hebner to get at Young and TNA security finally intervened. Great promo by Young there, even being saddled with so-so material.

-Foley and JB were watching backstage when Foley said Jarrett went over the line by attacking an official. He said it was only a matter of time before he needed security. Good God, Rocco and Sal are back. Stupendous.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video profiling Jesse Neal’s Naval career and his wrestling training aired.

-Neal, with a bizarre new haircut, was backstage with Rhino and Lauren. Lauren asked him about facing Matt Morgan next. He just talked about his first match and the training that went along with it. He wasn’t terribly sure-footed on the mic, but showed promise.

4- MATT MORGAN vs. JESSE NEAL

They showed Jesse’s parents in the crowd. He wrestled in a long-sleeved tee and a pair of gym shorts. He got a roll-up on Morgan out of the corner, but Morgan landed a back suplex. Morgan hit a series of back-elbows on Neal in the corner, then bowed for the crowd. Sidewalk slam, then he threw Neal face-first into the top turnbuckle as Rhino coached him from ringside. Standing dropkick from the Blueprint. Cover got two, as Morgan picked him up by the hair. Morgan trash talked Rhino, allowing Neal to get a few punches in. He made the mistake of whipping Morgan off the ropes, and Morgan retaliated with the Carbon Footprint for the win.

WINNER: Morgan, at 2:46. Decent mid-card angle they’ve got going on here. Although I don’t get Rhino looking so pissed at ringside.....it was his first match and it was against Matt Morgan, cut the kid some slack.

-Mick Foley and his new personal security were walking backstage, on their way to the ring.

    [Commercial Break]

-Leroy’s Fitness Club in Bucksnort, Tennessee was the place where we saw ODB training Cody Deaner to wrestle. First up was training to add muscle mass by lifting various farm items and beating up a punching bag full of hay. Not a big fan of having another training video after just finishing up the Jesse Neal Story (coming to the Lifetime Network at some point, no doubt). It was different enough though to make it OK.

-Foley and his security team came out. Foley first spoke of Joe’s Nation of Violence taking on Steiner and Booker next week, then made another K.O.T.M qualifier between Sting and Kurt Angle. He then said he needed security, which is why he brought back Rocco and Sally Boy. Mick said that, for the first time in his life, he’s truly scared, because Jeff Jarrett is truly out of control and has made him look like a liar. He said a few weeks ago, he assured Earl Hebner that he has a job in TNA for a long time. But because of Jarrett, Hebner may never referee a match again. Mick used Jeff’s words against him, saying “every action has a reaction” and he’s not going to take Jarrett’s assault on Hebner lightly. He said his reaction, next week, would be hardcore.

-Borash was standing backstage with Sting. He asked Stinger’s opinion on the match made next week by Foley moments ago. Sting said things are different now that he’s in charge and they’re stronger than they’ve been in a long time. And nothing is going to change that. He said he and Angle are both professionals. Then Matt Morgan interrupted and bragged to Sting about what he did in the match against Neal, trying to talk up his credentials to earn a spot in the Mafia. Sting talked about Neal representing the country and that it’s about respect and Morgan doesn’t have any. He told Morgan when he finds respect to come back and talk to him. Morgan went off and said they have million-dollar egos and they won’t let him in because he’s not a former champion. Morgan again promised he’d get in the Mafia. He got talking a bit too fast again at times there.

    [Commercial Break]

-Tenay announced that Foley had added First Blood rules to Joe’s matches next week.

-JB was with Steiner and Booker in the Mafia locker room. He said it will start with Joe vs. Steiner and if Joe wins, he goes against Booker. If Steiner makes Joe bleed, it’s over. Booker said this isn’t a movie, this is real life and they’re not getting busted open. Steiner said they’re not going to just stand there like couple of punching bags. Steiner said he grew up and survived living in Detroit so he knows violence. He said when they’re done, they’re going to stick an apple in Joe’s mouth like the fat pig he is. Why are they allowing/writing him to say this stuff?

Sharmell walked in and complained to Booker about Jenna being in the makeup chair all day. Booker walked away to apparently take care of it.

5- KEVIN NASH vs. SAMOA JOE- KING OF THE MOUNTAIN QUALIFYING MATCH UNDER LETHAL LOCKDOWN RULES

Before coming out, Joe was shown talking to someone just beyond the exit door. Then he started walking toward the rampway.

The two began the match by battling with Kendo Sticks, each taking shots at the other. Nash got Joe in the corner and choked him with the stick. Joe shot back with right hands and they went to break about 1:30 into the match.

    [Commercial Break]

Joe hit Nash with a road sign upon return from break. He peppered Nash with about a dozen rights in the corner. Nash’s back was covered with welts thanks to the kendo stick. Nash got a shot in and tried to climb the cage. Oh, he was going for a trash can lid. He cracked Joe in the head with it, and again. After a third shot, he got two on a pin. Joe got back to his feet first and gouged the eyes of Nash. Nash came back with another lid shot. He whiffed with the stick and Joe was able to hit a kick to the face, then a senton on the big man. Joe grabbed a hockey stick and wailed Nash in the back with it. Lateral press, and he picked up the victory.

    WINNER: Joe, at 9:01.

Bourne vind het ecw van nu beter als die van vroeger

Bourne says new ECW "blows out" the original ECW

Evan Bourne was recently interviewed by The Sun in the UK. Here are the highlights:

The new ECW vs. The original ECW: “You can’t make a direct comparison between the rosters, as we’re so different. But if you compare ECW now to the old ECW on TNN - we blow that show out of the water. Every week we blow it out of the water. I have tons of respect for Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Super Crazy and Tajiri - as they were the guys I idolised growing up. I loved ECW. So that’s why I’m so proud to part of the current ECW, to make sure the name has the same feel and fans feel the same way I did at that age.”

On differences between now and then: “The main difference is that the original ECW’s events weren’t as large as ours. They were wrestling in front of 4,000-5,000, whereas WWE’s arena shows attract 10,000. That makes a huge difference as you have to adapt to your crowd and give them the best show. Also ECW had no rules, you could use any language you want. I loved the promo Tazz cut on Steve Corino, where he cursed for 10 minute straight, but we can’t do that. We’re a PG product and I’m proud to be a part of that. I love doing it for the kids, but I never want to forget about that 18-24 male demographic that needs ECW to be like EXTREME Championship Wrestling was back in the day. Me and Tyson Kid can easily be the Super Crazy/Tajiri or RVD/Jerry Lynn of the new ECW. ”

On the poor ratings: “You have to look at ratings as a long-term picture, but I did notice that the week I made my second debut was one of ECW’s highest rated shows. And I think we’re going to see a slow increase coming up. I measure more by live crowd reaction and how it looks on TV. I don’t make any money off ad sales, so ratings are nowhere near as important to me as having a good product.”

    2 talenten ontslagen door WWE

    WWE making more talent cuts

    Credit: PWInsider.com

After numerous cuts from the main roster and office in the past year, WWE has finally started cleaning house on developmental.

Among those let go Thursday include second generation wrestler Dakota "Maverick" Darsow (son of former WWE wrestler Barry "Demolition Smash" Darsow) and Lupe Santiago, both previously stationed in Tampa for Florida Championship Wrestling.

Darsow, 21, who started wrestling just last year, scored a developmental contract with WWE in December. He debuted under his real name, Dakota Darsow, before changing his ring name to "Maverick Darsow." Darsow hold a victory over ECW star David Hart Smith, which he scored in March.

Lupe Viscara, whose real name is Lupe Santiago, fit the prototypical "WWE look" to a T — tall, muscular and young. He begun training for a career in professional wrestling at the Ohio Valley Wrestling school in the spring of 2006 and debuted approximately a year later. It was just in time too as he nabbed a developmental contract in the summer of 2007, becoming one of the last two wrestlers to receive a contract before WWE severed their affiliation with Ohio Valley Wrestling. The other wrestler was Andrew Vain, another muscular wrestler who seemingly disappeared last year.

It is believed that several other talent cuts in developmental were made Thursday, but

Goldust & Hornswoggle def. The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble
David Hart Smith (w/ Tyson Kidd & Natalya) def. Tommy Dreamer
Jeff Hardy & R-Truth def. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler

With Extreme Rules emanating from New Orleans in just three days, SmackDown’s Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and ECW’s Tommy Dreamer all tried to ensure momentum for their title matches Sunday on“WWE Superstars” Thursday night on WGN America. Also, young Superstars R-Truth and Dolph Ziggler continued to work on etching their names in WWE history, while Raw’s The Brian Kendrick continued his search for a worthy tag team partner as he teamed with Jamie Noble against the bizarre team of Goldust & Hornswoggle.

Don’t know where to catch “WWE Superstars”? Find WGN America in your area. Can't see “WWE Superstars” on WGN America in your area? Stay with WWE.com for full results, photos and video clips of all the action.

Goldust & Hornswoggle def. The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble (PHOTOS | WATCH)
For the past few weeks, The Brian Kendrick has been determined to find a worthy tag team partner to pursue the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. However, Kendrick yet again fell short, this time teaming with Jamie Noble against Goldust & Hornswoggle.

Although at one point it seemed things might be working in Kendrick & Noble’s favor with Raw’s pint-size Superstar isolated in their corner, Noble’s conscience came into play, allowing Hornswoggle to tag-in Goldust, which proved detrimental to Kendrick & his interim partner.

In the end, it was The Bizarre One tossing Noble to the outside and laying out Kendrick before tagging in Hornswoggle, who nailed the Tadpole Splash, picking up the win for his team. This loss for the eccentric Kendrick sends him back to the drawing board, still searching for “the” tag team partner.

David Hart Smith (w/ Tyson Kidd & Natalya) def. Tommy Dreamer (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Not that The Hart Dynasty isn’t more than enough to handle by themselves, but during Tommy Dreamer’s match Thursday night against David Hart Smith, the ECW Original also had to keep an eye out for ECW Champion Christian at the announce booth — the same man he laid out with a DDT just two days before at the end of ECW.

With Dreamer just days away from what could possibly be his last chance ever to win the ECW Title, any momentum he could gain with a victory would be to his benefit. When it seemed that Dreamer had somehow subdued the powerhouse in David Hart Smith and had him just moments away from tapping out with a Texas Clover Leaf, the referee was distracted by Christian stopping Natalya from throwing a chair in the ring. Capitalizing on the distraction, Tyson Kidd slid into the ring and delivered a vicious kick to the head of the ECW Original, allowing Smith to break free and roll over onto Dreamer for the pin.

As The Hart Dynasty exited, one question loomed in the air: Was the distraction the result of the ECW Champion’s good intentions backfiring against one of his Triple Threat Match opponents this Sunday? Or was this just a little payback for the DDT Dreamer delivered on ECW on Sci Fi?

Jeff Hardy & R-Truth def. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Thursday night was sure to end with fireworks during the main event, as it paired two in-ring veterans and former champions looking to gain momentum heading into the pay-per-view Sunday. Add in two of WWE’s fastest-rising Superstars, and the WWE Universe was in for a treat. Would it be the combination of Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler’s abrasive attitude and unrelenting punishment or the pairing of the high-flying, risk-taking North Carolinians in Jeff Hardy & R-Truth that would leave triumphant?

Despite a valiant effort from all four men involved in the match, it was the two Tar Heels and their combination of high-speed, risk-taking moves, that ended with caused their hands to be raised that night. After R-Truth used his entire body to take Jericho to the outside, Hardy nailed Ziggler with the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb. If this is any preview of Sunday night, World Heavyweight Champion Edge better take one long look at that title as The Extreme Enigma is going to do anything he needs to make sure that he is the one leaving New Orleans with the gold.

    UPDATE OVER KENNEDY EN TNA

KenKennedy101.gif Ken Kennedy image by Madness09
Early news regarding Mr. Kennedy and TNA

    Credit: F4Wonline.com

One person close to Mr. Kennedy notes that he is looking forward to going to TNA in September, once his 90 day non-compete clause with WWE ends. The same person notes that Kennedy has a lot of confidence and believes he can really be a top guy but feels like Vince McMahon didn't see him at that level, which he didn't.

His goal is he believes if he goes to TNA he can be that top guy, thinking they will allow him to be the character he thinks he can be without always trying to get him to change. It is believed that TNA has an interest in him but in his case, the situation would be that TNA would probably want to sign him to a three-year deal.

Masters, who is now 26 years old, was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 8, 2007 after being suspended for 60 days for having violated the company's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy a second time.

Masters has largely wrestled overseas during his time away.

    News on Victoria's new name

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

    - Lisa Marie Varon, who was referred to as "the former Victoria" in her TNA debut last week, is set go under the name "Tara" in the promotion. The reason for this is TNA wants to own all ring names and merchandising rights, so unless you are someone with a huge name that is your own name — like Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley or Scott Hall — you are going to be given a new name most of the time.

AJ Styles vs. Daniels bombs in the ratings

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

Last week's episode of Impact drew a solid 1.18 cable rating with 1.6 million viewers. The show did a 0.82 in Males 18-34 and 0.94 in Males 35-49.

In the segment-by-segment numbers, the Main Event Mafia interview where Sting fired Sharmell, Jenna Morasca and the security team gained 149,000 viewers. Doug Williams vs. Cody Deaner in a ladder match gained 41,000 viewers. The segment featuring Abyss and Dr. Stevie, with the debut of Raven, stayed even. For the second week in a row, Angelina Love was a ratings hit as her match with Sojo Bolt and the debut of Victoria gained 81,000 viewers, scoring the high quarter of the show at 1.28. Once again, the numbers trailed off following her segment as a Mick Foley promo and Jeff Jarrett's bout with Eric Young lost 108,000 viewers. Young's subsequent turn on Jarrett and Team 3D's trophy presentation to Beer Money, Inc. stayed even. The main event pitting AJ Styles against Daniels was a huge ratings flop. The segment lost 244,000 viewers, the show's worst one-segment decline in several weeks.

    Evan Bourne def. Mark Henry
    Zack Ryder def. local competitor
    Tommy Dreamer def. Paul Burchill
ECW Champion Christian def. Tyson Kidd (non-title)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Just days before Tommy Dreamer will face ECW Champion Christian and Jack Swagger in a Triple Threat Hardcore Rules Match at Extreme Rules, the ECW Original proved he’s an Extreme force to be reckoned with, and he’s not backing down from achieving his dreams.

ECW Champion Christian def. Tyson Kidd (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Moments after Dreamer thanked the WWE Universe, promising he’ll return next week as the new ECW Champion, and Swagger boasted he’ll once again hold the ECW Title because Dreamer is grasping at the little bit of glory he thinks he still has, ECW Champion Christian was victorious over Tyson Kidd. (WATCH) As Natalya and David Hart Smith lurked at ringside, watching their fellow Hart Dynasty member battle Captain Charisma, Swagger emerged to view the match. But Dreamer also appeared, knocking “The All-American American” and David Hart Smith to the ground as Christian and Kidd continued their conflict in the ring. The ECW Champion hit Kidd with the Killswitch for the victory, but as Captain Charisma celebrated the win, Dreamer shook his hand, then DDT’d him, much to the WWE Universe’s surprise.

Dreamer has made his point – he’s determined to win the ECW Championship this Sunday at Extreme Rules. His contract is on the line, so if he doesn’t win, his time in WWE is up. The ECW Original will compete against Christian and Swagger in his specialty – a Hardcore Rules Match – but does he have what it takes to once again be ECW Champion? Or will “The All-American American’s” determination to prove ECW Champion Christian is a “cheater” give him the power to regain ECW gold? Or will Christian have the last laugh, again, on Swagger and finally send Dreamer packing? Tune in to Extreme Rules this Sunday at 8/7 CT, live on pay-per-view. (Extreme Rules Preview)

Tommy Dreamer def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS)
Dreamer picked up a hard-fought win against Paul Burchill on ECW on Sci Fi this week when the ECW Original defeated The Ripper  with a DDT. Dreamer will also face The Hart Dynasty’s David Hart Smith on “WWE Superstars” Thursday night. Will the ECW Original earn another win and gain the momentum he needs to walk away ECW Champion Sunday night at Extreme Rules?

Evan Bourne def. Mark Henry (PHOTOS)
For the second week in a row, Evan Bourne has defied the odds and defeated Mark Henry, this time thanks to some unexpected “help” from WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas. After being tossed out of the ring by The World’s Strongest Man, Atlas interfered, trying to pull “Air” Bourne from the top rope. The referee noticed, leading to Bourne’s win by disqualification in this modern-day David & Goliath match up. A noticeably angry Henry berated his associate after the incident. Will Bourne continue to dominate Henry and Atlas on Tuesday nights? How will Atlas’ actions affect the relationship between himself and The World’s Strongest Man?

Zack Ryder def. local competitor (PHOTOS)
Zack Ryder returned to the Land of the Extreme Tuesday, easily besting another local competitor. Ryder, who landed on ECW thanks to the 2009 WWE Supplemental Draft, showed no mercy against his opponent. Ryder has said he’s come to ECW to make an impact. Will Ryder live up to his promise?

    Finlay vows to return
The Man Who Loves to Fight told ECW’s Gregory Helms that he reinjured his eye during his match against Jack Swagger on last week’s “WWE Superstars.” Finlay originally hurt his eye breaking up a fight between ECW Champion Christian and Tommy Dreamer on last week’s ECW. The Fighting Irishman has vowed he’ll be back to settle his unresolved issues with “The All-American American.”

Santino Marella vs. Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero ended in a no contest
Kofi Kingston def. MVP to become the new United States Champion
John Cena & Chavo Guerrero def. Big Show & The Miz
Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Matt Hardy & William Regal
Divas Champion Maryse & Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly & Mickie James
Batista def. Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With Extreme Rules only days away, WWE Superstars should have been conserving their energy, and resting up for the maelstrom their bodies are about to go through. But on Raw, things got extreme early, as Big Show manhandled John Cena, Santino Marella was covered in slop, and most distressingly, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was on the receiving end of one of WWE Champion Randy Orton’s infamous punts.

WWE Champion Randy Orton def. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair in a “Fight to the Finish” (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Not all of the Raw action took place in the arena, as one of the evening’s most anticipated battles took place in the parking lot. Earlier in the evening, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair challenged WWE Champion Randy Orton to a “Fight to the Finish,” as a way of competing against “The Viper” without dishonoring his official retirement from the ring. It appeared that The Dirtiest Player in the Game would live up to his moniker as he took control of the contest, wailing on Orton and bringing him back into the arena. Once there, ‘Naitch continued to attack The Legend Killer and even applied his legendary Figure-Four Leglock.

But as Flair applied pressure to Orton’s legs, The Legacy attacked, brutalizing the Hall of Famer before locking him inside the steel cage with the recovered Legend Killer. Though Batista tried to honor his friend and mentor’s request to let him handle Orton on his own, the sight of Flair with The Viper at his throat was too much, and lured The Animal down to the ring. As The Animal struggled to get inside the cage, his Extreme Rules opponent, Orton, first leveled Flair with a thunderous RKO and then finished off the Legend with one of his trademark punts to the skull as Batista looked on in a primal rage.

Santino Marella vs. Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero ended in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In a rare intergender singles match, Santino Marella faced off against his twin sister “Santina’s” Extreme Rules opponent, Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero. Though the Raw General Manager was initially reluctant to face the Italian Superstar, she was convinced by Matt Hardy and William Regal that their plan would pay off in spades. After Vickie came to the ring with two buckets of slop (a reference to her and Santina’s impending Hog Pen Match), Santino retrieved one and began to threaten the GM with it. Meanwhile, William Regal and Matt Hardy rushed to Vickie’s aid, storming the ring with ill intentions. But as they crept up behind the Italian Superstar, Santino whirled around, dousing Regal in the slop. Enraged, the two devious Superstars attacked Santino, giving Vickie an opportunity to cover him with the contents of the second slop bucket.

Kofi Kingston def. MVP to become the new United States Champion (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Though all of the WWE Superstars are tremendously talented athletes, it is rare to have a championship match where the two ring warriors respect one another as much as Kofi Kingston and MVP. After exchanging some competitive words in an interview prior to the match, The Ballin’ Superstar went to defend his United States Title against Kingston’s controlled frenzy. In a clean match, The Jamaican Superstar defeated MVP, becoming the new United States Champion in the process.

John Cena & Chavo Guerrero def. Big Show & The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With his randomly selected partner, Chavo Guerrero, in cahoots with Big Show, John Cena faced The World’s Largest Athlete & The Miz in what amounted to a handicap situation. The former World Heavyweight Champion did manage to win the match, but certainly not in the way he would have liked after being unable to use the STF maneuver on his Extreme Rules opponent, Big Show. While Cena attempted to recover from an attack at the hands of The World’s Largest Athlete, The Miz refused to tag in his partner to finish the job. Infuriated, the 7-footer laid out the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” with a punch to the back of the head, at which point Chavo Guerrero leapt into action, pinning Miz for the win.

Following the match, Cena attempted to fight off his nemesis, but Big Show was too much for him, sealing the deal with his devastating Cobra Clutch Backbreaker.

Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Matt Hardy & William Regal (PHOTOS)
Though their contest on Raw was a non-title match, if Matt Hardy & William Regal had managed to defeat Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo, they would have earned themselves a title match on the following Raw. The two devious Superstars had received the opportunity on account of the assistance they had rendered to Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero in recent weeks. Unfortunately for Hardy & Regal, however, they’ll have to keep waiting to grasp that championship gold, since the Puerto Rican brothers were able to secure victory after Hardy inadvertently clobbered his teammate with his cast.

Divas Champion Maryse & Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly & Mickie James (PHOTOS)
Just a week after disqualifying herself in a match against Kelly Kellty to retain her Divas Title, Maryse faced the blonde bombshell again in a match featuring four of WWE’s sexy, smart and powerful Divas. The Divas Champion joined forces with Beth Phoenix to take on Kelly and the fan-favorite Mickie James. With some assistance from The Glamazon and Rosa Mendes, Maryse pinned her rival, Kelly Kelly, to pick up the win.

Batista def. Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match; Chavo Guerrero chosen to partner with John Cena against Big Show & The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH)
When Cody Rhodes won a coin toss between himself and Ted DiBiase, he didn’t realize that his prize was a brutal beating from Batista. Despite The Animal’s massive size putting him at a disadvantage when attempting to escape a steel cage, Batista dominated the second-generation Superstar, securing victory as his Extreme Rules opponent, Randy Orton looked on from outside the cage.

Meanwhile, Vickie Guerrero consulted with Chavo Guerrero and Big Show in her office. Raw’s General Manager had decided to pit The World’s Largest Athlete & The Miz against Big Show’s Extreme Rules opponent, John Cena, and a randomly selected Superstar. Though the 7-footer was reluctant to team up with the annoying Miz, the tables turned in his favor when Cena’s partner was revealed to be none other than Vickie’s nephew, Chavo.

Cody Rhodes won a coin toss to face Batista in a Steel Cage Match; WWE Champion Randy Orton accepted WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s challenge to a “Fight to the Finish” (PHOTOS)
As announced earlier on WWE.com, mere days before his Steel Cage Match against WWE Champion Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, Batista was set to face one of “The Viper’s” minions on Raw, also in a steel cage. To determine who would take on The Animal, Orton flipped a coin between Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It was Rhodes who won the toss, eagerly accepting the opportunity to do some damage to his leader’s nemesis.

The Legacy was then joined in the arena by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Since ‘Naitch is prohibited from competing in an actual match, The Dirtiest Player in the Game wanted to face The Legend Killer to a “Fight to the Finish” in the parking lot, a challenge which Orton readily accepted.

What you didn't see on RAW this week

Following the slop bucket spot with Santino and Matt Hardy & William Regal on RAW last night, the mat had to be changed during commercial break.

After RAW went off the air, Ric Flair was put on a stretcher and taken away, to sell his injuries to the live audience.

The RAW main event dark match was Batista & John Cena vs. Randy Orton & Big Show. Finish came when Cena hit the Attitude Adjuster and 5-knuckle shuffle on Big Show for the pin.

Was Orton responsible for Mr. Kennedy's release?

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Randy Orton's role in the release of Mr. Kennedy from WWE this week. While a heated discussion went down backstage between Randy Orton and Kennedy following last week's RAW taping, Orton actually had nothing to do with Kennedy being fired.

Later that evening, two major WWE stars (who were not fans of Kennedy) went to Vince McMahon and took the opportunity to express their feelings. Vince McMahon, who was already said to be in a very bad mood after the dispute over Denver and the NBA, made the decision on the plane ride home to send Kennedy packing. The word is that McMahon considers Kennedy to be reckless, still green as a worker, clueless when it came to business instincts, and was a huge liability. Reportedly no one in WWE creative or talent relations felt the need to speak up for Kennedy.

Many sources have described this as a situation where McMahon was already stressed out with the Denver situation that having to deal with Kennedy made things even worse and that Kennedy was the result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. McMahon was said to be so upset that he wasn't even considering working with Kennedy in the future and made that clear to those around him. While many feel he will eventually cool off, one WWE source added, "I cannot condemn the way the office handled this termination at all. He was reckless with his mouth and at other times with his in-ring." It should also be noted that two other major WWE stars also buried Kennedy to McMahon and WWE officials saying they hated working with him and "thought he was horrible and clumsy."

Update on the John Cena marriage rumor

Update on the John Cena marriage rumor

DJ from CenaCentral.com sent along the following: Hi, I see that the John Cena getting married story is making the rounds. It wasn't John who got married, it was his brother Matt. He (Matt) posted in a bodybuilding forum about his upcoming wedding.

Brian Molten sent along the following: John Cena didn't get married this weekend, his brother did. Cena will be getting married sometime this year though. I know for a fact because I know John's younger brother.
