One person close to Mr. Kennedy notes that he is looking forward to going to TNA in September, once his 90 day non-compete clause with WWE ends. The same person notes that Kennedy has a lot of confidence and believes he can really be a top guy but feels like Vince McMahon didn't see him at that level, which he didn't.
His goal is he believes if he goes to TNA he can be that top guy, thinking they will allow him to be the character he thinks he can be without always trying to get him to change. It is believed that TNA has an interest in him but in his case, the situation would be that TNA would probably want to sign him to a three-year deal.
WWE has re-signed Chris Mordetzky, better known as Chris Masters. He is expected to forgo developmental and debut on television soon.
Masters, who is now 26 years old, was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 8, 2007 after being suspended for 60 days for having violated the company's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy a second time.
Masters has largely wrestled overseas during his time away.
- Lisa Marie Varon, who was referred to as "the former Victoria" in her TNA debut last week, is set go under the name "Tara" in the promotion. The reason for this is TNA wants to own all ring names and merchandising rights, so unless you are someone with a huge name that is your own name like Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley or Scott Hall you are going to be given a new name most of the time.
Last week's episode of Impact drew a solid 1.18 cable rating with 1.6 million viewers. The show did a 0.82 in Males 18-34 and 0.94 in Males 35-49.
In the segment-by-segment numbers, the Main Event Mafia interview where Sting fired Sharmell, Jenna Morasca and the security team gained 149,000 viewers. Doug Williams vs. Cody Deaner in a ladder match gained 41,000 viewers. The segment featuring Abyss and Dr. Stevie, with the debut of Raven, stayed even. For the second week in a row, Angelina Love was a ratings hit as her match with Sojo Bolt and the debut of Victoria gained 81,000 viewers, scoring the high quarter of the show at 1.28. Once again, the numbers trailed off following her segment as a Mick Foley promo and Jeff Jarrett's bout with Eric Young lost 108,000 viewers. Young's subsequent turn on Jarrett and Team 3D's trophy presentation to Beer Money, Inc. stayed even. The main event pitting AJ Styles against Daniels was a huge ratings flop. The segment lost 244,000 viewers, the show's worst one-segment decline in several weeks.

But Dreamer also appeared, knocking The All-American American and David Hart Smith to the ground as Christian and Kidd continued their conflict in the ring. Evan Bourne def. Mark Henry (PHOTOS) For the second week in a row, Evan Bourne has defied the odds and defeated Mark Henry, this time thanks to some unexpected help from WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas. After being tossed out of the ring by The Worlds Strongest Man, Atlas interfered, trying to pull Air Bourne from the top rope. The referee noticed, leading to Bournes win by disqualification in this modern-day David & Goliath match up. A noticeably angry Henry berated his associate after the incident. Will Bourne continue to dominate Henry and Atlas on Tuesday nights? How will Atlas actions affect the relationship between himself and The Worlds Strongest Man?

Santino Marella vs. Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero ended in a no contest Kofi Kingston def. MVP to become the new United States Champion John Cena & Chavo Guerrero def. Big Show & The Miz Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Matt Hardy & William Regal Divas Champion Maryse & Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly & Mickie James Batista def. Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. With Extreme Rules only days away, WWE Superstars should have been conserving their energy, and resting up for the maelstrom their bodies are about to go through. But on Raw, things got extreme early, as Big Show manhandled John Cena, Santino Marella was covered in slop, and most distressingly, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was on the receiving end of one of WWE Champion Randy Ortons infamous punts.
WWE Champion Randy Orton def. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair in a Fight to the Finish (PHOTOS | WATCH) Not all of the Raw action took place in the arena, as one of the evenings most anticipated battles took place in the parking lot. Earlier in the evening, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair challenged WWE Champion Randy Orton to a Fight to the Finish, as a way of competing against The Viper without dishonoring his official retirement from the ring. It appeared that The Dirtiest Player in the Game would live up to his moniker as he took control of the contest, wailing on Orton and bringing him back into the arena. Once there, Naitch continued to attack The Legend Killer and even applied his legendary Figure-Four Leglock.
But as Flair applied pressure to Ortons legs, The Legacy attacked, brutalizing the Hall of Famer before locking him inside the steel cage with the recovered Legend Killer. Though Batista tried to honor his friend and mentors request to let him handle Orton on his own, the sight of Flair with The Viper at his throat was too much, and lured The Animal down to the ring. As The Animal struggled to get inside the cage, his Extreme Rules opponent, Orton, first leveled Flair with a thunderous RKO and then finished off the Legend with one of his trademark punts to the skull as Batista looked on in a primal rage.
Santino Marella vs. Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero ended in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH) In a rare intergender singles match, Santino Marella faced off against his twin sister Santinas Extreme Rules opponent, Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero. Though the Raw General Manager was initially reluctant to face the Italian Superstar, she was convinced by Matt Hardy and William Regal that their plan would pay off in spades. After Vickie came to the ring with two buckets of slop (a reference to her and Santinas impending Hog Pen Match), Santino retrieved one and began to threaten the GM with it. Meanwhile, William Regal and Matt Hardy rushed to Vickies aid, storming the ring with ill intentions. But as they crept up behind the Italian Superstar, Santino whirled around, dousing Regal in the slop. Enraged, the two devious Superstars attacked Santino, giving Vickie an opportunity to cover him with the contents of the second slop bucket.
Kofi Kingston def. MVP to become the new United States Champion (PHOTOS | WATCH) Though all of the WWE Superstars are tremendously talented athletes, it is rare to have a championship match where the two ring warriors respect one another as much as Kofi Kingston and MVP. After exchanging some competitive words in an interview prior to the match, The Ballin Superstar went to defend his United States Title against Kingstons controlled frenzy. In a clean match, The Jamaican Superstar defeated MVP, becoming the new United States Champion in the process.
John Cena & Chavo Guerrero def. Big Show & The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH) With his randomly selected partner, Chavo Guerrero, in cahoots with Big Show, John Cena faced The Worlds Largest Athlete & The Miz in what amounted to a handicap situation. The former World Heavyweight Champion did manage to win the match, but certainly not in the way he would have liked after being unable to use the STF maneuver on his Extreme Rules opponent, Big Show. While Cena attempted to recover from an attack at the hands of The Worlds Largest Athlete, The Miz refused to tag in his partner to finish the job. Infuriated, the 7-footer laid out the self-proclaimed chick magnet with a punch to the back of the head, at which point Chavo Guerrero leapt into action, pinning Miz for the win.
Following the match, Cena attempted to fight off his nemesis, but Big Show was too much for him, sealing the deal with his devastating Cobra Clutch Backbreaker.
Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Matt Hardy & William Regal (PHOTOS) Though their contest on Raw was a non-title match, if Matt Hardy & William Regal had managed to defeat Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo, they would have earned themselves a title match on the following Raw. The two devious Superstars had received the opportunity on account of the assistance they had rendered to Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero in recent weeks. Unfortunately for Hardy & Regal, however, theyll have to keep waiting to grasp that championship gold, since the Puerto Rican brothers were able to secure victory after Hardy inadvertently clobbered his teammate with his cast.
Divas Champion Maryse & Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly & Mickie James (PHOTOS) Just a week after disqualifying herself in a match against Kelly Kellty to retain her Divas Title, Maryse faced the blonde bombshell again in a match featuring four of WWEs sexy, smart and powerful Divas. The Divas Champion joined forces with Beth Phoenix to take on Kelly and the fan-favorite Mickie James. With some assistance from The Glamazon and Rosa Mendes, Maryse pinned her rival, Kelly Kelly, to pick up the win.
Batista def. Cody Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match; Chavo Guerrero chosen to partner with John Cena against Big Show & The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH) When Cody Rhodes won a coin toss between himself and Ted DiBiase, he didnt realize that his prize was a brutal beating from Batista. Despite The Animals massive size putting him at a disadvantage when attempting to escape a steel cage, Batista dominated the second-generation Superstar, securing victory as his Extreme Rules opponent, Randy Orton looked on from outside the cage.
Meanwhile, Vickie Guerrero consulted with Chavo Guerrero and Big Show in her office. Raws General Manager had decided to pit The Worlds Largest Athlete & The Miz against Big Shows Extreme Rules opponent, John Cena, and a randomly selected Superstar. Though the 7-footer was reluctant to team up with the annoying Miz, the tables turned in his favor when Cenas partner was revealed to be none other than Vickies nephew, Chavo.
Cody Rhodes won a coin toss to face Batista in a Steel Cage Match; WWE Champion Randy Orton accepted WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flairs challenge to a Fight to the Finish (PHOTOS) As announced earlier on WWE.com, mere days before his Steel Cage Match against WWE Champion Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, Batista was set to face one of The Vipers minions on Raw, also in a steel cage. To determine who would take on The Animal, Orton flipped a coin between Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It was Rhodes who won the toss, eagerly accepting the opportunity to do some damage to his leaders nemesis.
The Legacy was then joined in the arena by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Since Naitch is prohibited from competing in an actual match, The Dirtiest Player in the Game wanted to face The Legend Killer to a Fight to the Finish in the parking lot, a challenge which Orton readily accepted.
Following the slop bucket spot with Santino and Matt Hardy & William Regal on RAW last night, the mat had to be changed during commercial break.
After RAW went off the air, Ric Flair was put on a stretcher and taken away, to sell his injuries to the live audience.
The RAW main event dark match was Batista & John Cena vs. Randy Orton & Big Show. Finish came when Cena hit the Attitude Adjuster and 5-knuckle shuffle on Big Show for the pin.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding Randy Orton's role in the release of Mr. Kennedy from WWE this week. While a heated discussion went down backstage between Randy Orton and Kennedy following last week's RAW taping, Orton actually had nothing to do with Kennedy being fired.
Later that evening, two major WWE stars (who were not fans of Kennedy) went to Vince McMahon and took the opportunity to express their feelings. Vince McMahon, who was already said to be in a very bad mood after the dispute over Denver and the NBA, made the decision on the plane ride home to send Kennedy packing. The word is that McMahon considers Kennedy to be reckless, still green as a worker, clueless when it came to business instincts, and was a huge liability. Reportedly no one in WWE creative or talent relations felt the need to speak up for Kennedy.
Many sources have described this as a situation where McMahon was already stressed out with the Denver situation that having to deal with Kennedy made things even worse and that Kennedy was the result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. McMahon was said to be so upset that he wasn't even considering working with Kennedy in the future and made that clear to those around him. While many feel he will eventually cool off, one WWE source added, "I cannot condemn the way the office handled this termination at all. He was reckless with his mouth and at other times with his in-ring." It should also be noted that two other major WWE stars also buried Kennedy to McMahon and WWE officials saying they hated working with him and "thought he was horrible and clumsy."
DJ from CenaCentral.com sent along the following: Hi, I see that the John Cena getting married story is making the rounds. It wasn't John who got married, it was his brother Matt. He (Matt) posted in a bodybuilding forum about his upcoming wedding.
Brian Molten sent along the following: John Cena didn't get married this weekend, his brother did. Cena will be getting married sometime this year though. I know for a fact because I know John's younger brother.
According to numerous sources, Sting plans on making this his final year in TNA and presumably, professional wrestling.
Since his return to the company in 2006, the multi-time world champion has directed his career on a year-to-year basis, hence the one-year contract agreements year after year.
He has been telling people that this year's Bound for Glory pay-per-view will be it for him in TNA. His contract with the organization is once again set to expire shortly before the end of the year.
Matt Hardy issued the following bulletin on his MySpace account (myspace.com/theonlymatthardy) addressing Mr. Kennedy's release from World Wrestling Entertainment this past Friday. Hardy is a close friend of Kennedy, so much so that he was the best man at his wedding:
"For the record, Ken Kennedy is one of my closest friends in the wrestling business. I really hated to hear the news of him leaving the WWE a couple of days ago. I wanted to help him out by letting all of my MySpace peeps know where that can keep up to speed with Ken and his career.
This isn't confirmed yet, but it sounds like John Cena got married to his fiancee over the weekend. Several readers from south of the border sent word that at the RAW live event on Saturday night in Mexico City it was announced that Cena would not be there because it was his wedding day. Cena confirmed he was engaged and was planning to wed later this year while promoting his movie 12 Rounds on talk shows.
Bobby Lashley's TNA future is still up in the air, with no contract being signed. In recent MMA interviews Lashley claims he won't be signing anything until after he fights Bob Sapp later this month. One has to wonder why TNA brought him out if nothing was set in stone.
Mr. Kennedy released a video on his official website, www.Ken-Kennedy.com, in which he shakes both of his wrists repeatedly to show that they are not injured.
This is apparently in response to online reports saying he suffered a wrist injury during what turned out to be his final match in WWE on Monday's episode of RAW.
Although it should be noted that he wasn't expected to miss any ring time and that it was a minor issue at best. Since his departure, it was announced on his official website that he was "100% healthy."
