Kharma's Profile Removed From WWE Main Roster

Kharma's Profile Removed From WWE Main Roster
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/13/2012 at 12:50 PM

Amidst rumors that WWE have parted ways with Kharma after their official Twitter feed moved her profile to its list of Alumni on Thursday, her profile has been removed from the company website's list of Raw Superstars. It now resides in the Alumni section among other former WWE performers.

WWE has not issued a message stating that she has been released.

The accomplished grappler addressed rumors of her WWE demise via Twitter, writing Thursday, "Getting a flood of dm's. I guess the cat's out of the bag. Yes. I have been officially promoted to the alumni section of the WWE roster."

Ryan Satin of TMZ.com then said she was by the sports entertainment organization on Thursday, writing on Twitter, "A source close to Kharma tells me the rumors are true and she was indeed released from WWE today. Dumbest WWE release in SOOO LONG!!!"

Kharma, whose real name is Kia Michelle Stevens, signed a contract with WWE in December of 2010 and made her debut on May 1, 2011 at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view as she decimated Michelle McCool. Weeks later, Kharma spoke for the first time on television to reveal she was pregnant and thus forced to take a leave of absence from the organization. Stevens made a surprise return in January as the twenty-first entrant in the Royal Rumble Match and subsequently announced to TMZ.com that she had given birth to a baby boy named Jamie on December 31, 2011. She then admitted in March that the child died before she could give birth and had lied due to her emotional state at the time.

We start off with a look back at Austin Aries winning the TNA World Title at Destination X, then go to a recap of some early matches in the Bound For Glory Series, as well as recent history in the Joseph Park-Bully Ray feud leading into tonight's match. Speaking of which, we go right to the ring for...

Anything Goes Streetfight: Bully Ray vs Joseph Park

Bubba holds up the contract for this match and reminds Park that Abyss can't get involved, and then Park takes his glasses off and stalls in the corner while Bubba challenges him to step up. Park finally comes out with his fists up and takes a swing, but Bubba easily ducks out of the way. Bubba dodges another couple of punches and slaps Park in the head before kicking him in the breadbasket. He keeps slapping and shoving Park before spitting right in his face. That's finally enough, and Park slaps Bubba in the face, but takes too long asking the fans if he should nail Bubba and gets suckerpunched from behind. Bubba pulls out his phone and tweets mid-match, then says that he's trending worldwide. Bubba pulls a trashcan full of plunder out from under the ring and brings it inside. Bubba grabs a chair from the can, but Park takes Bubba down with a double leg and drills him with repeated punches to the face. Park gets ahold of the chair and hesitantly approaches Bubba, but takes too long once again and gets nailed by Bubba. Bubba bashes Park over the back with a detour sign, then does the same with a trash can lid. Bubba continues beating on Park and lays him on top of the trash can lid. Bubba takes forever going for a splash and Park is able to move out of the way. Park is fired up now and pummels Bubba with right and left hands, but runs right into a big boot from Bubba and goes down yet again. Bubba gets a big black pouch from under the ring, and dumps out...THUMBTACKS! Bubba gets the microphone and tells Park that he's going to do to him what he should have done to his brother a long time ago, then asks everyone if they know who he is. Bubba comes at Park with a kendo stick, but Park catches Bubba through the uprights with a cheese grater, then takes the kendo stick and nails Bubba with it. He almost gets 3, but Bubba gets a back elbow and a clothesline. Bubba takes Park over to the thumbtacks, but Park suddenly grabs Bubba and chokeslams him onto the tacks. Park covers and gets 2, then Bubba crawls to the corner and grabs his chain. Park comes at bubba with the trash can, but Bubba drills him in the face with the chain and nails Park to get the 3 count.

    Winner: Bully Ray

Park is busted open and the blood is running down his face, and Park sees the blood and suddenly goes into a trance, hitting Bubba with the Black Hole Slam and rocking himself in the ring the way Abyss does before suddenly going back to coward mode and scuttling out of the ring.

Sting is backstage with the playing cards the mystery guy gave Hogan last week and says he knows it's the Dead Man's Hand, and he'll see what that's about tonight.

We go backstage to Bully Ray, who wants to know who that was out there. He beat Joseph Park, but doesn't know who that was out there who did that to him after the match.

We look at the current standings in the Bound For Glory Series, and now the series continues!

Bound For Glory Series: Samoa Joe vs Rob Van Dam

Joe is currently leading the pack with 37 points. RVD dodges a charge and dropkicks Joe in the back, then drags him out to the middle of the ring and tries for a surfboard on Joe. Joe easily makes it to the ropes since it would be ridiculous to see RVD try that, then he takes RVD to the corner and they come out to the middle of the ring and pummel to try and lock hands around each other. Niether man gets an advantage, so they go to the corner where RVD hits a spinkick, but that just pisses Joe off and he runs RVD over with a clothesline that sends him out to the floor to take a breather. He comes back inside and fires a couple of kicks at Joe, who catches RVD's leg and hits a leg whip. RVD lures Joe into a kick exchange and catches Joe's boot, but Joe rolls through into a heel hook and RVD is forced to go to the ropes. RVD fires a few right hands and goes to the ropes, but walks right into a snap powerslam and then Joe goes to a cross armbreaker. RVD gets to the ropes again, and this time he dropkicks Joe's knee out from under him and hits a leg lariat. RVD with Rolling Thunder, but he's too worn out to capitalize and only gets 2 by the time he's able to crawl over and make a cover. RVD goes for a monkey flip, but Joe holds his ground and counters to a kneebreaker before locking RVD in a modified figure four. He's really got RVD trapped, but he voluntarily releases the hold. He tries to drag RVD back out to the middle of the ring to reapply the hold, but RVD rolls him into a small package for 3.

    Winner: Rob Van Dam

Joe looks really pissed off at getting caught, but he's still in first place while RVD is way down at 5th, tied with Brutus Magnus.

We go back to earlier today when Claire the crackhead shows up and the Mystery Cameraman runs up to harass her. She says she hasn't seen Dixie, and she'll say what she has to say later and tells them to leave her alone.

Hulk Hogan is backstage saying that if someone wants to show up and threaten him, he's here and Sting's here, so let's dance.

Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian come out ot the ring as we look back at the events of Destination X and the brutal Last Man Standing match between Daniels and AJ Styles. Kazarian congratulates Styles on his win this past weekend and says AJ probably think he's finally put an end to this whole thing, but he's only heard one verse and they haven't gotten to the chorus yet. Daniels says he hears the fans booing AJ Styles because his actions this weekend were reprehensible, but he knows AJ will do anything to hide the truth. Because of that, he'd like to ask Claire Lynch to come out to the ring to answer some questions and clear a few things up for the fans. Daniels says he sympathizes with Claire because she hit rock bottom and would grab any hole to drag her out, but in situations like that, mistakes can be made and accidents can happen. AJ's music hits, and he comes out with microhpone in hand to share his side of the story. He's surprised that Daniels is able to stand and speak after what he did to him this past weekend, but the story ended weeks ago. Daniels said he had a good talk with Claire and wants her to say what she told him, but AJ says this has nothing to do with her. Claire gets between them and says that Daniels is right and AJ is the father. Well, AJ looks pretty surprised at that one and even says "How is that possible?" Let's go to commercial while they discuss their situation.

We go backstage and the stupid f'ing Mystery Cameraman is chasing after him to ask about the bombshell that was just dropped, and AJ turns around and yells "I DON'T KNOW, OKAY?" before shoving his way out the back door. See, if he'd used the back door the first time around, then he'd...you know what, let me take the high road on this one.

Ken Anderson is getting ready for tonight and he says that his rivalry with Kurt Angle started off as a real negative thing, but he at least feels like there's more respect there now.

We go to a video package of Zema Ion and how he blew off Jesse Sorensen before going on to win the X Division Title, then we get backstage comments from Dakota Darsow, who was really pissed off at the way Zema Ion was thanking Jesse Sorensen for helping him get where he is. Ion shouldn't worry about Jesse Sorensen, because he's going to face Darsow tonight.

X Division Champion Zema Ion vs Dakota Darsow

Ion wises off to Darsow, so Darsow just manhandles Ion and beats the doody out of him in the corner. Darsow whips Ion hard to the corner and charges in with a clothesline, then comes off the ropes and turns Ion inside out with a running clothesline. Ion tries to hightail it to the back, but Darsow goes after him, nailing Ion on the rampway and herding him back to the ring. Darsow slingshots through the ropes with a spear, Ion tries to escape to the floor again, but Darsow goes after him and gets his neck snapped down over the top rope. Ion with a slingshot into a DDT on Darsow, then he hits a Gory Bomb for the win.

    Winner: Zema Ion

Ion isn't done, and puts Darsow in a funky submission move, then leans back and appears to tear Darsow's shoulder out. Ion gets a microphone and says that if that crippled jackass Jesse Sorensen doesn't want to see any more of his friends get hurt, he should know that he's not just f'n pretty, he's pretty f'n dangerous.

Austin Aries comes out saying that he's had a great week, and it's awesome to wake up and be the new World Heavyweight Champion. This is a great personal accomplishment, and he proved everyone wrong because nobody ever thought he would get there, and this is a great moment not just for himself and the fans, but for the professional wrestling industry. The crowd starts chanting his name, so he tells them all to be quiet so he can hear himself talk. Wrestling runs in cycles between down periods and boom periods, and for the last year or so there's been a buzz and an energy around Impact Wrestling, and wrestling fans are ready for the next boom period. He's the man to lead the company there because his win at Destination X was bigger than this company. He got phone calls and text messages from people in movies, sports, and even "World Champions" from other companies, and he was asked in a recent interview how important titles were, and he says they're only as important as the man who holds it, so now the TNA World Title is the most important in professional wrestling because he's the best wrestler in the best wrestling company in the world. The crowd is really going nuts for this speech, but now Bobby Roode's music hits and...well, here he comes. Aries says he knows Roode is used to coming out here whenever he wants, but he's not the champion anymore, so what does he want? Roode comes down to the ring with a frantic look on his face and grabs a microphone, but can't seem to get his thoughts out because he's too angry to finish a sentence. Finally he's able to spit out a single word: fluke. Roode leaves in a huff, but Aries says he has three words for him: new World Champ.

Sting is backstage with Hulk Hogan saying that it's almost time for them to go old school, but Devon and Garett Bischoff come in to say they owe Hogan and they've got his back no matter what. All they have to do is let them know. Hogan and Sting say they appreciate it, but they have this one. Devon and Garett say they can trust them and leave, and Hogan says that it's different this time. Okay, then.

Kurt Angle gives his thoughts on his match tonight, saying that if he beats Anderson tonight, he knows he can win the entire Bound For Glory Series.

We look at last week when Madison Rayne laid one on Earl Hebner, and says it's a perfect fit because they both love wrestling, and they both keep their bodies in tip top shape.

Balls Deep comes out to join Mike and Taz at the broadcast booth for our next match...

Knockouts Title Match: Brooke Tessmacher vs Gail Kim

Brooke goes right after Gail, beating her down in the corner and laying her out with a clothesline and a dropkick. Brooke with a flying headscissors that sends Gail out to the ring apron, and Brooke grabs her by the hair to try and drag her in. Gail snaps Brooke's arm down on the top rope and rams her shoulder first into the corner. Brooke fires back with some shots from her good arm, but another shot from Gail and Brooke goes down again. Gail with a hammerlock suplex and then rams Brooke's arm down across her knee. Gail with a short armscissors and bridges to put all her weight on the arm, then puts Brooke in Cattle Mutilation! Awesome. Brooke slips out androlls Gail up for 2, but Gail goes right back after the arm and Brooke is in trouble. Brooke reverses a whip into the corner and takes Gail out with a series of clotheslines, selling the bad arm all the way. Brooke with a springing facebuster out of the corner, but her arm is too badly hurt to go right for a cover. Brooke hits the Pepsi Twist, but still can't get over in time to catch Gail for 3. Gail rolls Brooke up with a handful of tights for 2, then sits her on the top rope and they trade blows on top ofr the corner. Gail goes for a top rope Sole Food, but Brooke holds her ground and comes off the top rope with a flying elbow (with the bad arm) for the win.

    Winner: Brooke Tessmacher

Kurt Angle and Ken Anderson are backstage, and they're...WALKING!

Claire is backstage and the Mystery Cameraman is STILL chasing her around digging for dirt. Claire says we'll hear her proof soon enough, and tells AJ that she hopes he'll do the right thing since he knows more about her than anyone.

Open Fight Night returns next week, and Brutus Magnus says he's looking forward to getting another big win like last week when he detected a weakness and used it to get a win in the Bound For Glory Series. He'll also see James Storm this weekend at the house show.

Bound For Glory Series: Ken Anderson vs Kurt Angle

Kurt easily shoots in on Anderson and picks a single leg, then breaks clean to play mind games with Anderson. Angle takes Anderson down with a side headlock, Anderson makes it to his feet and shoots Angle to the ropes and gets a hiptoss and an armdrag, and now Anderson has Angle down on the mat. Angle regains his feet and backs Anderson to the corner and nails a couple of right hands before stomping Anderson down in the corner and choking him with his boot. Anderson with right hands and a clothesline, followed by a dropkick for 2. Anderson hits the ropes, but comes off right into an overhead release suplex from Angle as we go to commercial.

We're back, and Angle runs Anderson over with a shoulderblock and covers for 2...and we go right back to commercial. (??)

We're back as Anderson elbows his way out of a chinlock and hits a back suplex to catch a break. Anderson with clotheslines and back elbows, followed by a rolling neckbreaker, but Angle blocks the Mic Check and hits the triple rolling German suplexes. Anderson escapes the Hacker Slam and hits a Finlay roll for 2. Angle blocks Mic Check, Anderson blocks the anklelock, Angle hits the Hacker Slam for 2. Angle gets the anklelock, Anderson survives for like thirty seconds and eventually rolls through and catches Angle with the Mic Check...for 2. Anderson goes for another Mic Check, but Angle blocks and hits another Hacker Slam for the win.

    Winner: Kurt Angle

Angle seems to have caught a shot to the mouth because he's got blood dripping out of his mouth as the referee raises his hand. That's pretty badass. Angle now moves up to third place behind Samoa Joe and James Storm.

Bobby Roode burts into Hulk Hogans office and has a tense staredown with Sting, then tells Hogan that they need to talk. This seems like a perfect time to take a commercial break!

Hogan tells Sting that he'll see him in the ring in five minutes, then says he knows Bobby Roode wants a rematch, and he'll get it at Hardcore Justice. Roode says he wants Aries sooner than that, and Hogan says that next week is Open Fight Night, and since we don't call out champions on Open Fight Night, Roode should call Aries out. Can't argue with that logic. Hogan says that if Roode beats Aries next week, then it should be easy pickings at Hardcore Justice.

We head out to the ring as Sting comes out to address the fans of TNA and this mysterious gang who kicked his ass a couple weeks ago. Sting says there's a crew out there who likes to play games, but this seems like a good time and place, and he didn't come alone, so he asks Hulk Hogan to come on out and join him in the ring. Hogan's music hits, but he doesn't show. Sting asks him again to come out for the people, and his music hits again but still no Hogan. Sting has an uneasy look on his face as he stares at the entranceway, but Hogan's music hits yet a third time, and goes right back off as we go to the back where a bloody Hogan is laying on the ground as Balls Deep yells at a bunch of gang members to get out of here. Hogan says they got his leg, and Sting starts to make his way up the rampway to help, but he doesn't get close to the entryway before another group of gang members come out of the crowd and beat Sting down like 7-on-1 as we wrap up.

     7/9 RAW Breakdown: AJ's Angle, Backlund's Return
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/12/2012 at 08:15 AM

    - As noted before, the July 9th WWE RAW Supershow scored a 3.17 cable rating with 4.42 million viewers.

In the segment breakdown, the opener with AJ Lee, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan with Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger lost 74,000 viewers. Christian and Tyson Kidd vs. Tensai and Dolph Ziggler plus the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler angle lost 416,000 viewers. Brodus Clay vs. Drew McIntyre plus the Stephanie McMahon video promoting the 1,000th RAW gained 102,000 viewers.

Kane and John Cena vs. Chris Jericho and Big Show gained 66,000 viewers, a low gain for that time period in the show. The match did about a gain of 280,000 at 10pm, which is lower than usual, but then lost those viewers when the match went longer and through a second commercial break.

Sin Cara vs. Heath Slater and the return of Bob Backlund lost 21,000 viewers. Lawler vs. Cole and the reveal of Hornswoggle as the Anonymous General Manager lost another 21,000 viewers.

It appears AJ's tease from earlier that she would be leaving with her future husband did the trick as far as the rating goes. The overrun following AJ and Punk vs. Daniel Bryan and Eve Torres gained 711,000 viewers - which is normal but it should be noted that this was done without John Cena in the segment and with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, who have never moved ratings big.

There was a huge increase in Male Teens watching the overrun that wasn't there for the rest of the show. Male Teens hovered between a 2.7 and 3.2 rating for the entire show but jumped up to a 4.4 rating for the overrun.

It appears it's the wedding gimmick that helped ratings since AJ, Punk nor Bryan made ratings jump in the Male Teens demographic during their opening interview segment or during any other week in this storyline.

    WWE High on Injured Wrestler

    - We noted before that WWE NXT star Bray Wyatt (the former Husky Harris) suffered a torn pec and possible shoulder injury at a June 29th FCW live event. He will be out of action for about six months but word is that he may remain on NXT as a manager. WWE officials were high on him and his new gimmick.

Press Release for House of Hardcore, Dreamer Speak

Press Release for House of Hardcore, Dreamer Speak
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/11/2012 at 08:30 AM

    - Tommy Dreamer's new House of Hardcore promotion issued the following:

    PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING WILL CHANGE FOREVER!

THE HOUSE OF HARDCORE DEBUTS AT THE LAST HISTORIC WRESTLING VENUE STANDING, THE MID-HUDSON CIVIC CENTER!

IT ALL BEGINS SATURDAY OCTOBER 6th, 2012 IN POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK!

All great things begin with two combustible elements - passion and work ethic. With one, a competitor may make it far but risks the chance of crashing and burning. The warriors who are able to balance and manifest both, however, are destined for greatness. Those elements form the origin of the term hardcore and the very backbone of the House of Hardcore when it debuts at the last historic wrestling venue still standing and unchanged, the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Saturday October 6th.

The term "hardcore" in professional wrestling has been perverted over time and has come to be synonymous with the more violent elements of the business. However, while that gritty aspect may be an element of hardcore, it's not what true hardcore wrestling is only about.

"House of Hardcore is about work ethic," says HOH founder Tommy Dreamer, himself a veteran of countless wars inside the squared circle. "I have chosen the men and women who will compete in House of Hardcore to wrestle on this first show for that reason, work ethic. Hardcore isn't about blood, barbed wire and tables. It was always and will always be about a competitor giving everything they have physically, mentally, emotionally in their match. It is about the passion of what you do, what you give of yourself in the ring. Hardcore is about giving your heart and soul to the fans. That is the backbone of what House of Hardcore will be about."

That mission statement has been the mantra of Tommy Dreamer's professional wrestling career, both behind the scenes and in front of the eyes of the fans. Dreamer has fought the wars, won the world championships and suffered the agony of defeats. He's overcome injuries. He's faced desperation and trials and anguish. Through it all, with each fall, he's risen back to his feet, ready and willing to fight again, his spirit unbroken.

Now, it's time for the broken spirit of professional wrestling to rise like a Phoenix out of the politics, the sideshow, the haze that has hindered its evolution, its honor and its passion. It's time for the House of Hardcore to rise. It's time for a place where wrestling fans can find the wrestling they desire, with no catches.

"Without the fans, quite simply, there is no Tommy Dreamer," said the former ECW World champion. "I am forever in debt to all of them for letting me live my dream. When I left WWE, I said the fans were my family and I mean that. They are my family and they've fed my family. Now, it's time to give back to them. We have the chance to entertain the fans the only way I know how, wrestling, in the last historic building left. The others are gone, gutted or renovated or destroyed. So, we make our stand in Poughkeepsie, for the fans. This is my money, my reputation and my quest to give my family, the fans, an event they will remember for a lifetime. I can remember being there for so many special moments as a fan and being part of so many as a wrestler. I want those moments to happen on October 6th. Via social media, my website and from speaking to fans at events and in airports, I've heard everyone's pleas for there to be something different. So, I am going to risk it all to show the world that change can be made. Pro Wrestling can be great again - and it should be great."

To that end, House of Hardcore announces the first of many competitors who will enter Poughkeepsie that night to do battle -

RHINO - "Rhino is a 34 year old man who remains as intense as any competitor I have ever seen. He's a well established veteran, even at his young age, from WWE, ECW and TNA. He is beyond dedicated and is out to prove to the world that he is still the 'Manbeast" and seriously, who's going to stop him? He is the Juggernaut come to life. Outside of the ring, he is the nicest human being I have ever met. An easy choice for the roster."

SAMI CALLIHAN - "This Combat Zone Wrestling mainstay is the greatest unsigned talent ever. Growing up on the mean streets of Philadelphia, he has a great amateur background and his work ethic is at such a premium that he's lost over 140 lbs. to be taken seriously as a force in professional wrestling. A gritty chameleon who can adapt to every style of professional wrestling. He reminds me of the ferocity Bruiser Brody and Buzz Sawyer mixed with the work ethic of Finlay and Taz's FTW attitude. A great addition to any roster."

CHRIS MORDETSKY - "Known to national audiences as Chris Masters, he was signed to a WWE deal at 19 based on his looks and his physique. He was thrust onto TV too soon in his career and honestly, wasn't ready for what was ahead of him. So, he refocused his life and career, traveling the world over to improve inside the ring and it shows. He has the power and speed as well as an unbreakable full nelson that can't be escaped when it is applied. He has always had the tools to be a top tier player in this industry. Well, now, his talent will be shown."

THE BIG XLG - "This 28 year old is as quick and agile a big man as I have ever seen. Known to WWE audiences as Luke Gallows and Festus, he was signed there at only 21 years of age and at 6'6", he's done it all. He's made headlines internationally for his travels to Mexico, Great Britain, Japan and South Africa, where he wrestled for the President of the country and was involved in many infamous riots. He loves being the antagonist and will inflict as much ring punishment as he can to anger the audience. He will get in your face and let you know how tough he really is. That attitude is just what this roster needs."

THE SANDMAN - "The former ECW champion is a demented Peter Pan. He's still the beer drinking, chain smoking cane wielding SOB. We made our careers together in ECW, destroying each other's bodies to entertain the fans and establishing our legacy. When I texted him to say I am doing a show, he said, "If you are doing it, I am in." Then he said, "God, I hope you don't want to wrestle me, I am horrible." I told him that he was always horrible and he responded that I was right. If you can't respect your friendship with a guy like that, what can you do? I am happy to have Sandman there. If there is trouble, he will be the first to have my back. Plus, I know there is a beer plant right up the road...but that will be for after the show."

These are the first five of many, many more competitors to come. It has been a journey decades in the making, literally a lifetime, birthed out of the love of professional wrestling Tommy Dreamer has carried in his heart seemingly forever.

"I have prepared for this day most of my life. Since I saw my first match as a child, I have loved professional wrestling. Some wrestlers will distance themselves from this, but I am proud to say I am still a fan. I can recall my entire journey with great vivid detail. Taking red marker to my Star Wars toys while imagining they were Tommy Rich and Mr. Wrestling 2 in the heat of battle. Going to the wrestling matches with my Dad. Buying every wrestling magazine and merchandise I could fine. Slapping hands with Bob Backlund - my favorite at the time - before he wrestled. The excitement of my first autograph, Arnold Skaaland. Buying the first 8x10 photo of my hero, a bloody Dusty Rhodes. Wearing my first wrestling t-shirt "Barry Windham - The Kid is Hot Tonight" until it fell off. The joy of Hulkamania. The sadness of waking up Christmas morning and not getting tickets to the Omni's Christmas Day spectacular. The joy of riding the escalator into the first Wrestlemania. Getting up the courage to meeting Ricky Santana in a gym and telling him I would be a professional wrestler. My first day of training. The welts under my arm pits and across my back. My body hurting so bad from the first bump. Setting up the ring. Carrying jackets to the back. The joy of my first match. My first trip on the road. Signing my first autograph. Wrestling my first big star, Tony Atlas. Being flown to a show the first time by a promoter. Finding the ECW Arena. Making the business my life 24/7. My first WWF tryout. My first WCW contract offer. Living and dying by ECW - in the ring, in the studio, in life. Being a part of something so groundbreaking. Designing shirts. Running locker rooms. Winning the ECW World title. Booking shows and angles. My first action figure. My first video game. The lowest part of my life when ECW went under. Getting hired by WWE. Being on the opening of Monday Night Raw. Wrestling in the Garden that first time against Perry Saturn. Working in the WWE office. Helping others achieve their dream. Writing a WWE PPV. Getting to see ECW return to life and be recognized for what it was. Wrestling at Wrestlemania. Receiving another shot as a talent in the ring when I was written off. Winning the ECW title again. The sadness of choosing to leave WWE. My farewell night. Going to TNA. Writing a successful PPV there. Leaving TNA. Returning to the indies. Preparing for life after wrestling. There have been so many memories. All of them, good and bad, happy and angry, have prepared me for this."

But why now? Why the House of Hardcore?

"I have done it all. It's a bad cliche but it's so true. I've seen it all - so much of it great and sadly, so much of it bad. I see the state of wrestling and it kills me, as someone who loves it. I needed to do something about it. I needed to prove to the world and especially myself that pro wrestling isn't based on politics and that the person in charge shouldn't determine your career path. The paying customer should decide who they like and want to see. Talent should be the reason a competitor rises to stardom. Fans want to come to a wrestling show to cheer, to boo, to hold up signs and scream and basically, to be entertained. They don't want BS. They don't want politics. They just want great wrestling. On October 6th, my journey takes me to a place where we can give fans that great wrestling."

"I don't want people to think this show is about Tommy Dreamer. It's about me giving back to the fans and everyone who made Tommy Dreamer so that a new crop of wrestlers can live the dream that I lived. This is my way to thank my parents for supporting me with my wrestling habit. To thank Dusty Rhodes for being my hero. To thank Johnny Rodz for training me. To thank Paul Heyman for believing in me and mentoring me. To thank Terry Funk and Mick Foley for making me Hardcore. To thank Joey Styles for making me legit. To thank Jim Ross for hiring me and never, ever lying to me. To thank John Laurinaitis for supporting me and helping get ECW off the ground in WWE, growing from a PPV to a new show. To thank Shane McMahon for fighting battles for me in the corporate world. To thank Vince Russo for letting me have creative freedom. To thank Dixie Carter for making me have passion again about wrestling and to thank Vince McMahon for being the most influential man in my life beyond my father. Vince's life journey and decisions have really created my career and life path. Every person who worked in pro wrestling has to admit that it did for them as well. Most of all, this is a thank you to every wrestler, both male and female, I have worked with, travel, bled, sweat, laughed, cried and shared so many amazing moments with. I am blessed to have met you all. You have all made my life better knowing you...and beyond all else, this is my thank you to the wrestling fans, my family. I was lucky enough to cross over the guard rail, but I never forgot my roots. I never will."

On October 6th, professional wrestling returns to it's roots as the sport of kings, where men fought for glory, for vengeance, for gold and for honor.

The House of Hardcore is coming!

Viacom and DirecTV Fail To Reach Agreement. Spike and Impact Wrestling Off The Air For DirecTV Customers

As many feared, Viacom and DirecTV Failed to reach a working agreement last night and all viacom network feeds have been removed from DirecTV including SpikeTV. Below is the press release from both companies.

We are deeply disappointed that DirecTV dropped Viacom's channels before our midnight deadline this evening, severing our connection with its nearly 20 million subscribers nationwide. We proposed a fair deal that amounted to an increase of only a couple pennies per day, per subscriber, and we remained willing to negotiate that deal right up to this evening's deadline. However, DirecTV refused to engage in meaningful conversation. We are hopeful that DirecTV will work with us toward a resolution, and stop denying its subscribers access to the networks they watch most.
    _______________
Viacom Drops 17 National Networks from DIRECTV Lineup After Ignoring DIRECTV's Latest Proposal
Viacom Sends Letter to DIRECTV Demanding Channels be Removed; Pushing DIRECTV Customers to Pay a 30 Percent Rate Hike for Channels In a Ratings Slide

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DIRECTV customers were left without Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and 14 other channels today, after Viacom dropped its networks from DIRECTV at approximately midnight EDT. DIRECTV executives reached out to Viacom both yesterday and today with a new proposal and a request to keep the channels on while we continued to negotiate, but never heard back, so DIRECTV had to comply with their demand to take the channels down or face legal action.

The DIRECTV Kids' Mix Channel will help parents find programming alternatives when they tune to any children's network removed by Viacom to try to force DIRECTV customers to pay a 30% rate hike for the same Viacom channels they get today. (Photo: Business Wire)

"We have been very willing to get a deal done, but Viacom is pushing DIRECTV customers to pay more than a 30 percent increase, which equates to an extra $1 billion, despite the fact that the ratings for many of their main networks have plummeted and much of Viacom's programming can be seen for free online," said Derek Chang, DIRECTV executive vice president of Content, Strategy and Development. "Viacom sent us a letter last night that outlined our obligations to remove the channels by midnight or face legal action just as they were falsely telling viewers DIRECTV was responsible. Let's be clear, Viacom took these channels away from DIRECTV viewers."

On its Website www.directvpromise.com, an information resource for customers affected by programming disputes, DIRECTV pointed out that Viacom is demanding an exorbitant increase for many Viacom channels that customers may never watch. DIRECTV stated that if Viacom believes all of its networks are worth so much extra money, DIRECTV customers should have the right to choose which Viacom channels they want to pay to keep and which ones they don't.

"We have absolutely no problem compensating Viacom fairly, but they have now knowingly put our customers in the unreasonable position of either accepting their extravagant financial demands or losing some of their favorite TV shows," said Chang. "We feel our customers should not have to pay more for these networks than the customers of any other TV provider. We reiterated this to Viacom today and have not heard back from them."

"We understand that Viacom's actions are inconveniencing our customers so we are doing everything we can to help them find alternative programming until this gets resolved," Chang added. "Customers will now see a variety of replacement channels available to them on one screen, in a Mix Channel format, when they tune to a Viacom channel. For instance, those going to the Nickelodeon channel slot will see alternative choices for children's programming such as The Disney Channel, ABC Family, Cartoon Network, PBS Sprout, The Hub and Boomerang. Customers can also see full-length Viacom episodes for free by going to www.directvpromise.com and clicking on the 'Other Ways to Watch' tab."

Konnan Talks CMLL’s Decision To Replace Sin Cara

Konnan Talks CMLL’s Decision To Replace Sin Cara
Posted by Andy Steven on 07/10/2012 at 01:41 PM

AAA matchmaker Konnan joined Mister Saint Laurent on this week’s episode of MLW Radio, available right now at MLW.com. He spoke about CMLL’s decision to introduce a new Mistico to replace WWE’s Sin Cara.

“Everyone knows who he is,” said Konnen. “It’s a guy called Dragon Lee. He’s a young high flyer who is actually very good and does some really wild [stuff], but isn’t as polished as Mistico and he’s not very well liked even though he’s a face in CMLL. One of the reasons is because Mexico City mostly likes heels. Mostly everyone gets booed in Arena Mexico that are babyfaces. He’s already getting booed and usually guys, whether it’s the guy who took over the Psicosis gimmick or the guy that took over the La Parka gimmick, at the beginning they get a lot of heat from the people because they know they’re not the original and people shout [stuff] at them.

“Usually guys that were clones weren’t as good as the original guys and this guy isn’t going to be the exception. I think that it’s CMLL being desperate because nothing they’re doing right now is really drawing. They don’t really have any real big stars. They have a lot of good young wrestlers and some good veteran wrestlers, but they don’t have those stars where you can bring them to a TV station and ask them to do an interview.”

Sara Del Rey to Train Divas

Sara Del Rey to Train Divas

    - We've noted before that WWE offered top women's wrestler Sara Del Rey a developmental deal. She was waiting on medical testing to come back but the feeling is that she will pass just fine.

There's speculation among some in WWE that Del Rey may be hired to help train the WWE Divas but that's not confirmed yet. Either way, Del Rey joining the company is seen as a major move.
