    WWE High on Injured Wrestler

    - We noted before that WWE NXT star Bray Wyatt (the former Husky Harris) suffered a torn pec and possible shoulder injury at a June 29th FCW live event. He will be out of action for about six months but word is that he may remain on NXT as a manager. WWE officials were high on him and his new gimmick.

In his latest blog on jrsbarbq.com, NXT announcer Jim Ross says there is talk of having a tournament to crown the first-ever WWE NXT Champion. Ross wrote:

"There is talk of having a tournament to crown a NXT Champion which, if and when it is held, could create some amazing opportunities for several young athletes looking to get noticed with the hopes of making it to a Raw or Smackdown WWE roster."

Press Release for House of Hardcore, Dreamer Speak

Press Release for House of Hardcore, Dreamer Speak
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/11/2012 at 08:30 AM

    - Tommy Dreamer's new House of Hardcore promotion issued the following:

    PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING WILL CHANGE FOREVER!

THE HOUSE OF HARDCORE DEBUTS AT THE LAST HISTORIC WRESTLING VENUE STANDING, THE MID-HUDSON CIVIC CENTER!

IT ALL BEGINS SATURDAY OCTOBER 6th, 2012 IN POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK!

All great things begin with two combustible elements - passion and work ethic. With one, a competitor may make it far but risks the chance of crashing and burning. The warriors who are able to balance and manifest both, however, are destined for greatness. Those elements form the origin of the term hardcore and the very backbone of the House of Hardcore when it debuts at the last historic wrestling venue still standing and unchanged, the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Saturday October 6th.

The term "hardcore" in professional wrestling has been perverted over time and has come to be synonymous with the more violent elements of the business. However, while that gritty aspect may be an element of hardcore, it's not what true hardcore wrestling is only about.

"House of Hardcore is about work ethic," says HOH founder Tommy Dreamer, himself a veteran of countless wars inside the squared circle. "I have chosen the men and women who will compete in House of Hardcore to wrestle on this first show for that reason, work ethic. Hardcore isn't about blood, barbed wire and tables. It was always and will always be about a competitor giving everything they have physically, mentally, emotionally in their match. It is about the passion of what you do, what you give of yourself in the ring. Hardcore is about giving your heart and soul to the fans. That is the backbone of what House of Hardcore will be about."

That mission statement has been the mantra of Tommy Dreamer's professional wrestling career, both behind the scenes and in front of the eyes of the fans. Dreamer has fought the wars, won the world championships and suffered the agony of defeats. He's overcome injuries. He's faced desperation and trials and anguish. Through it all, with each fall, he's risen back to his feet, ready and willing to fight again, his spirit unbroken.

Now, it's time for the broken spirit of professional wrestling to rise like a Phoenix out of the politics, the sideshow, the haze that has hindered its evolution, its honor and its passion. It's time for the House of Hardcore to rise. It's time for a place where wrestling fans can find the wrestling they desire, with no catches.

"Without the fans, quite simply, there is no Tommy Dreamer," said the former ECW World champion. "I am forever in debt to all of them for letting me live my dream. When I left WWE, I said the fans were my family and I mean that. They are my family and they've fed my family. Now, it's time to give back to them. We have the chance to entertain the fans the only way I know how, wrestling, in the last historic building left. The others are gone, gutted or renovated or destroyed. So, we make our stand in Poughkeepsie, for the fans. This is my money, my reputation and my quest to give my family, the fans, an event they will remember for a lifetime. I can remember being there for so many special moments as a fan and being part of so many as a wrestler. I want those moments to happen on October 6th. Via social media, my website and from speaking to fans at events and in airports, I've heard everyone's pleas for there to be something different. So, I am going to risk it all to show the world that change can be made. Pro Wrestling can be great again - and it should be great."

To that end, House of Hardcore announces the first of many competitors who will enter Poughkeepsie that night to do battle -

RHINO - "Rhino is a 34 year old man who remains as intense as any competitor I have ever seen. He's a well established veteran, even at his young age, from WWE, ECW and TNA. He is beyond dedicated and is out to prove to the world that he is still the 'Manbeast" and seriously, who's going to stop him? He is the Juggernaut come to life. Outside of the ring, he is the nicest human being I have ever met. An easy choice for the roster."

SAMI CALLIHAN - "This Combat Zone Wrestling mainstay is the greatest unsigned talent ever. Growing up on the mean streets of Philadelphia, he has a great amateur background and his work ethic is at such a premium that he's lost over 140 lbs. to be taken seriously as a force in professional wrestling. A gritty chameleon who can adapt to every style of professional wrestling. He reminds me of the ferocity Bruiser Brody and Buzz Sawyer mixed with the work ethic of Finlay and Taz's FTW attitude. A great addition to any roster."

CHRIS MORDETSKY - "Known to national audiences as Chris Masters, he was signed to a WWE deal at 19 based on his looks and his physique. He was thrust onto TV too soon in his career and honestly, wasn't ready for what was ahead of him. So, he refocused his life and career, traveling the world over to improve inside the ring and it shows. He has the power and speed as well as an unbreakable full nelson that can't be escaped when it is applied. He has always had the tools to be a top tier player in this industry. Well, now, his talent will be shown."

THE BIG XLG - "This 28 year old is as quick and agile a big man as I have ever seen. Known to WWE audiences as Luke Gallows and Festus, he was signed there at only 21 years of age and at 6'6", he's done it all. He's made headlines internationally for his travels to Mexico, Great Britain, Japan and South Africa, where he wrestled for the President of the country and was involved in many infamous riots. He loves being the antagonist and will inflict as much ring punishment as he can to anger the audience. He will get in your face and let you know how tough he really is. That attitude is just what this roster needs."

THE SANDMAN - "The former ECW champion is a demented Peter Pan. He's still the beer drinking, chain smoking cane wielding SOB. We made our careers together in ECW, destroying each other's bodies to entertain the fans and establishing our legacy. When I texted him to say I am doing a show, he said, "If you are doing it, I am in." Then he said, "God, I hope you don't want to wrestle me, I am horrible." I told him that he was always horrible and he responded that I was right. If you can't respect your friendship with a guy like that, what can you do? I am happy to have Sandman there. If there is trouble, he will be the first to have my back. Plus, I know there is a beer plant right up the road...but that will be for after the show."

These are the first five of many, many more competitors to come. It has been a journey decades in the making, literally a lifetime, birthed out of the love of professional wrestling Tommy Dreamer has carried in his heart seemingly forever.

"I have prepared for this day most of my life. Since I saw my first match as a child, I have loved professional wrestling. Some wrestlers will distance themselves from this, but I am proud to say I am still a fan. I can recall my entire journey with great vivid detail. Taking red marker to my Star Wars toys while imagining they were Tommy Rich and Mr. Wrestling 2 in the heat of battle. Going to the wrestling matches with my Dad. Buying every wrestling magazine and merchandise I could fine. Slapping hands with Bob Backlund - my favorite at the time - before he wrestled. The excitement of my first autograph, Arnold Skaaland. Buying the first 8x10 photo of my hero, a bloody Dusty Rhodes. Wearing my first wrestling t-shirt "Barry Windham - The Kid is Hot Tonight" until it fell off. The joy of Hulkamania. The sadness of waking up Christmas morning and not getting tickets to the Omni's Christmas Day spectacular. The joy of riding the escalator into the first Wrestlemania. Getting up the courage to meeting Ricky Santana in a gym and telling him I would be a professional wrestler. My first day of training. The welts under my arm pits and across my back. My body hurting so bad from the first bump. Setting up the ring. Carrying jackets to the back. The joy of my first match. My first trip on the road. Signing my first autograph. Wrestling my first big star, Tony Atlas. Being flown to a show the first time by a promoter. Finding the ECW Arena. Making the business my life 24/7. My first WWF tryout. My first WCW contract offer. Living and dying by ECW - in the ring, in the studio, in life. Being a part of something so groundbreaking. Designing shirts. Running locker rooms. Winning the ECW World title. Booking shows and angles. My first action figure. My first video game. The lowest part of my life when ECW went under. Getting hired by WWE. Being on the opening of Monday Night Raw. Wrestling in the Garden that first time against Perry Saturn. Working in the WWE office. Helping others achieve their dream. Writing a WWE PPV. Getting to see ECW return to life and be recognized for what it was. Wrestling at Wrestlemania. Receiving another shot as a talent in the ring when I was written off. Winning the ECW title again. The sadness of choosing to leave WWE. My farewell night. Going to TNA. Writing a successful PPV there. Leaving TNA. Returning to the indies. Preparing for life after wrestling. There have been so many memories. All of them, good and bad, happy and angry, have prepared me for this."

But why now? Why the House of Hardcore?

"I have done it all. It's a bad cliche but it's so true. I've seen it all - so much of it great and sadly, so much of it bad. I see the state of wrestling and it kills me, as someone who loves it. I needed to do something about it. I needed to prove to the world and especially myself that pro wrestling isn't based on politics and that the person in charge shouldn't determine your career path. The paying customer should decide who they like and want to see. Talent should be the reason a competitor rises to stardom. Fans want to come to a wrestling show to cheer, to boo, to hold up signs and scream and basically, to be entertained. They don't want BS. They don't want politics. They just want great wrestling. On October 6th, my journey takes me to a place where we can give fans that great wrestling."

"I don't want people to think this show is about Tommy Dreamer. It's about me giving back to the fans and everyone who made Tommy Dreamer so that a new crop of wrestlers can live the dream that I lived. This is my way to thank my parents for supporting me with my wrestling habit. To thank Dusty Rhodes for being my hero. To thank Johnny Rodz for training me. To thank Paul Heyman for believing in me and mentoring me. To thank Terry Funk and Mick Foley for making me Hardcore. To thank Joey Styles for making me legit. To thank Jim Ross for hiring me and never, ever lying to me. To thank John Laurinaitis for supporting me and helping get ECW off the ground in WWE, growing from a PPV to a new show. To thank Shane McMahon for fighting battles for me in the corporate world. To thank Vince Russo for letting me have creative freedom. To thank Dixie Carter for making me have passion again about wrestling and to thank Vince McMahon for being the most influential man in my life beyond my father. Vince's life journey and decisions have really created my career and life path. Every person who worked in pro wrestling has to admit that it did for them as well. Most of all, this is a thank you to every wrestler, both male and female, I have worked with, travel, bled, sweat, laughed, cried and shared so many amazing moments with. I am blessed to have met you all. You have all made my life better knowing you...and beyond all else, this is my thank you to the wrestling fans, my family. I was lucky enough to cross over the guard rail, but I never forgot my roots. I never will."

On October 6th, professional wrestling returns to it's roots as the sport of kings, where men fought for glory, for vengeance, for gold and for honor.

The House of Hardcore is coming!

Viacom and DirecTV Fail To Reach Agreement. Spike and Impact Wrestling Off The Air For DirecTV Customers

As many feared, Viacom and DirecTV Failed to reach a working agreement last night and all viacom network feeds have been removed from DirecTV including SpikeTV. Below is the press release from both companies.

We are deeply disappointed that DirecTV dropped Viacom's channels before our midnight deadline this evening, severing our connection with its nearly 20 million subscribers nationwide. We proposed a fair deal that amounted to an increase of only a couple pennies per day, per subscriber, and we remained willing to negotiate that deal right up to this evening's deadline. However, DirecTV refused to engage in meaningful conversation. We are hopeful that DirecTV will work with us toward a resolution, and stop denying its subscribers access to the networks they watch most.
    _______________
Viacom Drops 17 National Networks from DIRECTV Lineup After Ignoring DIRECTV's Latest Proposal
Viacom Sends Letter to DIRECTV Demanding Channels be Removed; Pushing DIRECTV Customers to Pay a 30 Percent Rate Hike for Channels In a Ratings Slide

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DIRECTV customers were left without Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and 14 other channels today, after Viacom dropped its networks from DIRECTV at approximately midnight EDT. DIRECTV executives reached out to Viacom both yesterday and today with a new proposal and a request to keep the channels on while we continued to negotiate, but never heard back, so DIRECTV had to comply with their demand to take the channels down or face legal action.

The DIRECTV Kids' Mix Channel will help parents find programming alternatives when they tune to any children's network removed by Viacom to try to force DIRECTV customers to pay a 30% rate hike for the same Viacom channels they get today. (Photo: Business Wire)

"We have been very willing to get a deal done, but Viacom is pushing DIRECTV customers to pay more than a 30 percent increase, which equates to an extra $1 billion, despite the fact that the ratings for many of their main networks have plummeted and much of Viacom's programming can be seen for free online," said Derek Chang, DIRECTV executive vice president of Content, Strategy and Development. "Viacom sent us a letter last night that outlined our obligations to remove the channels by midnight or face legal action just as they were falsely telling viewers DIRECTV was responsible. Let's be clear, Viacom took these channels away from DIRECTV viewers."

On its Website www.directvpromise.com, an information resource for customers affected by programming disputes, DIRECTV pointed out that Viacom is demanding an exorbitant increase for many Viacom channels that customers may never watch. DIRECTV stated that if Viacom believes all of its networks are worth so much extra money, DIRECTV customers should have the right to choose which Viacom channels they want to pay to keep and which ones they don't.

"We have absolutely no problem compensating Viacom fairly, but they have now knowingly put our customers in the unreasonable position of either accepting their extravagant financial demands or losing some of their favorite TV shows," said Chang. "We feel our customers should not have to pay more for these networks than the customers of any other TV provider. We reiterated this to Viacom today and have not heard back from them."

"We understand that Viacom's actions are inconveniencing our customers so we are doing everything we can to help them find alternative programming until this gets resolved," Chang added. "Customers will now see a variety of replacement channels available to them on one screen, in a Mix Channel format, when they tune to a Viacom channel. For instance, those going to the Nickelodeon channel slot will see alternative choices for children's programming such as The Disney Channel, ABC Family, Cartoon Network, PBS Sprout, The Hub and Boomerang. Customers can also see full-length Viacom episodes for free by going to www.directvpromise.com and clicking on the 'Other Ways to Watch' tab."

Konnan Talks CMLL’s Decision To Replace Sin Cara

AAA matchmaker Konnan joined Mister Saint Laurent on this week’s episode of MLW Radio, available right now at MLW.com. He spoke about CMLL’s decision to introduce a new Mistico to replace WWE’s Sin Cara.

“Everyone knows who he is,” said Konnen. “It’s a guy called Dragon Lee. He’s a young high flyer who is actually very good and does some really wild [stuff], but isn’t as polished as Mistico and he’s not very well liked even though he’s a face in CMLL. One of the reasons is because Mexico City mostly likes heels. Mostly everyone gets booed in Arena Mexico that are babyfaces. He’s already getting booed and usually guys, whether it’s the guy who took over the Psicosis gimmick or the guy that took over the La Parka gimmick, at the beginning they get a lot of heat from the people because they know they’re not the original and people shout [stuff] at them.

“Usually guys that were clones weren’t as good as the original guys and this guy isn’t going to be the exception. I think that it’s CMLL being desperate because nothing they’re doing right now is really drawing. They don’t really have any real big stars. They have a lot of good young wrestlers and some good veteran wrestlers, but they don’t have those stars where you can bring them to a TV station and ask them to do an interview.”

Sara Del Rey to Train Divas
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/10/2012 at 09:06 AM

    - We've noted before that WWE offered top women's wrestler Sara Del Rey a developmental deal. She was waiting on medical testing to come back but the feeling is that she will pass just fine.

There's speculation among some in WWE that Del Rey may be hired to help train the WWE Divas but that's not confirmed yet. Either way, Del Rey joining the company is seen as a major move.

    Boogeyman Returning To Wrestling

    - Former WWE superstar, The Boogeyman (Marty Wright), is now available for independent wrestling appearances and media requests. Last seen on WWE television in 2009, Wright has been fairly quiet since leaving the company, but he's now ready to jump back into the action headfirst on the indy scene. Wright has been honing his craft and believes he's bigger, badder, and better than ever with plenty left to prove and accomplish in the wrestling business. Still going by "The Boogeyman", promoters are guaranteed the full spectacle of Wright's character that got him over in WWE, all the way from the theatrical entrance to the excessive use and eating of worms! If you're interested in booking The Boogeyman for your next event, email boogeybookings@yahoo.com. Wright will also be accepting a rare, select number of media requests as well.

Former Straight Edge Society Member Arrested

Former Straight Edge Society Member Arrested
Posted by Andy Steven on 07/10/2012 at 01:36 PM

Former WWE talent Serena Deeb, 26, was arrested on July 8, 2012 in Tampa, Florida for operating a vessel while intoxicated. Her crime was categorized as BUI—Boating Under the Influence.

Deeb appeared for WWE in 2010 as a member of the CM Punk-led Straight Edge Society, a group which promoted and abided to abstinence and discipline—primarily no smoking, drinking, or drugs. The faction acted as a militant organization, denouncing all people who didn’t practice the Straight edge lifestyle, even those who also abstain from substance abuse. Her contract was terminated in August of that year, with WWE sources citing that she was not maintaining the gimmick’s image in public.

Deeb continued to wrestle independently following her release from WWE. She took an indefinite break from the profession in October 2011 after suffering a serious concussion in a match and now works as a yoga instructor.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen Are you ready? Then stop questioning your heart and join me because it’s time for Monday Night RAW!

The show opens with a video recap of the CM Punk/Daniel Bryan/AJ love triangle.

AJ’s music hits and she makes her way down to the ring. She says that this Sunday in the WWE Championship match she will be the special guest referee. Her actions will greatly affect the outcome of the match. It’s a very difficult and emotional position for her. She introduces CM Punk.

Punk’s music hits and he strolls down to the ring. He addresses AJ by asking what she wants. AJ says that last week Punk said that she is mentally unstable and needs professional help, but she scoffs at the notion and says that she is in complete control at all times. The crowd chants *This Chick’s Crazy*. She starts to say that Punk has great eyes, and he fills her up with passion and desire. In essence, he turns her on. AJ drops to one knee. “CM Punk will you marry me?”

Daniel Bryan runs down to the ring screaming “No!”. He tells AJ that this will be the biggest mistake she ever makes, and he can’t allow it. Everyone knows that CM Punk doesn’t love her. He is just playing her because she is the special guest referee for their match. Punk only cares about himself. Punk says that Bryan doesn’t know the first thing about him, so he should shut up. Bryan says if he’s wrong, then Punk should say I do. Bryan says that while Punk sees her as a Special Guest Referee, he sees her as a special person. Bryan drops to one knee and proposes!

Punk interrupts and says that this is spur of the moment decision and not something Bryan had planned. He asks Bryan to produce the ring. He can’t, so they begin to argue.

*May I have your attention please*
Surprise! I’m back and running RAW tonight. I’ve enjoyed watching the love triangle and I think Punk and AJ make a great couple. So they will be in a mixed tag match against Vickie Guerrero and Daniel Bryan.

Bryan says that it isn’t fair and starts to scream.

*May I have your attention please*
Don’t feel too bad Bryan, if you win maybe AJ will see him in a different light, or maybe not. Either way, good luck.

AJ says that the proposals caught her by surprise, so she needs to go to the back and think. She believes that everything happens for a reason. She has a feeling that she is going to walk out of this arena with her future husband.

    *And I quote*

At first, Cole refuses to read the message. Jerry walks over and starts to read instead. “Seeing Cole and Lawler bicker is bringing back great memories, so tonight in a WrestleMania rematch from my era as GM, Jerry Lawler will face Michael Cole”.

They argue amongst themselves and the GM hits again. He is going to let the WWE audience decide if they want the match to happen. To vote, log on to WWE.com.

Show says that some of the most embarrassing moments of his career happened when he was in JeriShow. He tells Chris to stay out of his way and maybe he won’t knock him out.

    ****Commercial****

John Cena’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He says that Sunday at Money in the Bank he is going to climb the ladder and win. He puts over the PPV. The Money in the Bank match changes the landscape of the WWE. He begins to rundown his opponents and why he will beat them.

John Cena & Kane v. Big Show & Jericho

Cena and Jericho start the match off. Cena whips him into the corner and hits a bulldog. Show gets the tag. Cena dodges a couple of punches and tags in Kane. He backs Show into the corner and unloads with a series of punches. Show reverses and hits a big clothesline. Show connects with a big headbutt that sends Kane out of the ring. Back in the ring, Kane is whipped into the ropes and hit with a shoulder block. Jericho gets the tag and immediately walks into a punch. Cena gets the tag and suplexes Jericho. Chris whips Cena into the ropes and distracts the referee so Big Show can hit him with a cheap punch.

    ****Commercial****

Back from the break, Show locks up with Cena and pushes him to the mat. He lifts him up and chops him hard across the chest. Show attempts a second, but Cena tries to lift him up for a scoop slam. Show’s weight falls on top of Cena for a pin. Cena kicks out but is quickly lifted up into a bear hug. Cena escapes and hits a side slam. Kane gets the tag and crushes Show into the corner. Kane hits a DDT and goes for the cover, but Show kicks out. Kane takes to the top rope and leaps for a lariat, but Show dodges and hits him with a spear instead!

Kane kicks out, and Jericho gets the tag. He takes Kane and puts him against the second rope to choke him out. Show takes a cheap shot at Kane on the apron.

    ****Commercial****

Back from the break Kane is going after Jericho and tags in Cena. He hits a couple of shoulder blocks and signals for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Cena misses and Jericho tries for the Walls. Cena escapes and hits the AA! Show pulls him out of the ring on the cover and this match is ruled a DQ.

    Winners: John Cena & Kane

After the match, Show grabs a ladder from under the ring. He puts in the ring and goes on the offensive. Cena grabs one of his own and clears the ring.

    ****Commercial****

Eve Torres is in the back with Punk and says that she is worried about Punk. She says that AJ might go crazy if she doesn’t hear what she wants to tonight. Eve puts over Punk’s title reign and then says that AJ must emasculate Punk.

Santino is in the back and finds a cell phone. He says that it must be the RAW Anonymous GM’s. Khali walks up and picks up the phone. Santino asks if he is the GM, but Khali gives him the run around.

    ****Commercial****

    Sin Cara v. Heath Slater

Cara bounces off the ropes, but gets hit with a shoulder and covered. Cara kicks out. Slater hits a scoop slam and then gets behind him and locks on a rear headlock. Cara flies into the ring with a clothesline. He hits La Mistica and this match is over.

    Winner: Sin Cara

As a result of this match, Sin Cara has qualified for the Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

After the match Heath Slater gets on the mic and says that he will beat any past Champion. Bob Backlund’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring! Bob Backlund!

    Heath Slater v. Bob Backlund

Slater extends his hand for a shake and Bob accepts, and then punches Bob in the head. Backlund gets behind Slater and locks in a Chickenwing Crossface!

    Winner: Bob Backlund

There was no referee, so the last match was not official.

Michael Cole stands up to reveal the poll results of whether or not there should be a match between he and Lawler. It was 75% in favor of a match. Cole tells the fans that they are hypocrites.

    ****Commercial****

    Michael Cole v. Jerry Lawler

Cole tries to escape, so Booker T throws him back into the ring. Lawler picks up Cole for an airplane spin and then goes for a cover. This match is over.

    Winner: Jerry Lawler

Josh Mathews and Booker T were on commentary for this match, so Mathews takes to the podium when the Anonymous GM flickers. He announces that since Booker T interfered, Cole is being declared the winner.

Santino comes out and says that he has had enough. He has come to the conclusion that if the GM is here tonight, the only place he can be is under the ring, because he has checked everywhere else. Mathews reads that no he is not. There is absolutely no one under the ring, so leave now.

Santino looks under the ring and starts to get dragged under. Hornswoggle comes tumbling out. Lawler asks if ‘swoggle is the one causing all of this misery. He shakes his head yes. Then he goes after everyone and clears the ring.

    ****Commercial****

CM Punk & AJ v. Daniel Bryan & Eve Torres

Punk and Bryan start the match. They exchange blows and Bryan takes an overhead tumble. Bryan charges at Punk and connects with a couple of knees. Punk whips him into the ropes and hits a spinning heel kick.

Eve gets the tag so AJ is brought into the ring. AJ gets on top of Eve, but it quickly pushed back and into the corner. She fights her way free, but gets caught with a punch and spear. Eve connects with a front headlock and then throws AJ down to the mat hard. Eve tries for a summersault, but AJ gets her knees up. She charges at Eve in the corner and connects with a knee and spinning heel kick. AJ keeps her from making a tag, but then gets kicked away. Eve tries to tag in Bryan, but he backs away. AJ goes for the roll up, and this match is over.

    Winners: AJ & Punk

Bryan gets on the mic and says that he just proved that she means more to him than any match. Punk says that he’ll lay it all on the line right now because he doesn’t care if it costs him the match at MitB and his Championship. The fact is that he is not going to marry AJ. If Punk saying that hurts her, then he is sorry. But at least he cares enough about her to tell her the truth. AJ walks up to Punk and slaps him across the face. Bryan tells AJ to come home. AJ walks over… and slaps him too! AJ closes the show with a series of Yes chants in the ring and then skips her way to the back.

DirecTV Responds To Dixie Carter On Twitter, More Updates
    Posted Image
It was previously reported here on TNAInsider that DirecTV was set to drop 26 channels including Spike TV. In response to this many TNA fans and wrestlers took to twitter trying to take action and keep Spike and the other 25 channels on Direct. An interesting piece of information was found on their offical website.

    Quote

DIRECTV is not willingly removing MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike or any other channels even though Viacom began telling viewers exactly that at approximately 11:24 p.m. EST last night. The truth is, that only 5 minutes later, Viacom sent an express letter via courier to DIRECTV threatening legal action if DIRECTV did not comply with Viacom’s demand that DIRECTV turn off the channels. Viacom is legally forcing us to take down the channels, while publicly claiming they are against it.

DirecTV has been saying that they will not be removing any of the channels unless they are forced to and will keep the channels up during the negotiations if allowed.

Also, the offical DirecTV twitter page replied to the Dixie Carter video on TNA Today in which they said :

    Quote

@TNADixie We will not remove any channels unless Viacom forces us to.

DIRECTV is dropping channels…again. We’re very disappointed, especially since we’ve been working to come to a resolution, even granting DIRECTV a deal extension. We simply can't understand why DirecTV doesn't value the channels its subscribers watch the most.

Austin Aries on his emotions on winning the TNA World Title:

    Quote

It was great. I don’t know if you can sum it up in a sentence or two, but a lot of emotions kind of hit me. The culmination of not only my year in TNA, twelve years in the wrestling business, but really just a lifelong love affair with the wrestling business. To think back to the early days of my childhood and getting into professional wrestling and to think where I am some twenty five years later, it’s hard to put that all in perspective, but I’m sure in the coming days and weeks, it will start to sink in a little more. It was a great feeling and a great moment. The energy coming out the Impact Zone, the response I have seen so far in the wrestling community has been overwhelming. I’m glad I can be somebody that can help create a buzz right now in this business.

Was winning the TNA World title the highlight of his career?

    Quote

Yeah, I have to say it ranks right up there. I was always one of those people who never had a favorite this or a favorite that. This right now, with everything that went along with it and the culmination of it, I think it ranks right up there with the greatest moment so far of my career.

Talks about the year he has had starting with last year’s Destination X:

    Quote

When I walked in there, I had come to a decision that I wasn’t really happy with the opportunities I was getting in the wrestling business. I felt I was at a certain level as a performer and a competitor and if I wasn’t going to get that opportunity or get treated in a way that was fitting for someone of a guy with my talents, then I decided it was time to do something else.

I’ve always been a guy that did his own thing, and set all my own rules, and that was a decision that I made, but when TNA offered that opportunity, I had to take it. It was a great opportunity to come back and have a second chance at a place where you don’t always have a second chance at. I didn’t look back and had nothing to lose at that point and I said 'here I am, this is me. Either take it or leave it.' But I can be a money guy in this business and in this company and so far I have proven that and it’s been great.

Talks about the positive reaction he has been getting from fans:

    Quote

Part of that overwhelming reaction and that moment, it could not have been created had Bobby Roode not had such a successful run as champion the last 7 or 8 months, and the job he has done as World Champion I don’t think can be taken for granted or give him enough accolades on what he’s done. That helped create that special moment last night. I just try to go out there and be myself. My job is to go out there and entertain people and get a reaction out of them. Make them care, one way or the other.

I guess just go out there and be myself and if you love me that’s great and if you hate me that’s great too. As long as you care when I walk out that curtain or when you see me on camera, that’s all I care about. I think people can gravitate to someone who’s authentic, who know who he is, who’s comfortable with who he is, who goes out there and expects a lot out of himself. Makes some boisterous claims but backs them up. I also think my passion and love for this business is something I hope translates. It’s been an interesting ride going in there obviously I was new to them and maybe it took them a while for them to warm up to me, but right now each and every time I step out there, it seems like the Aries Army just keeps growing.

On how fans are saying this title victory is a great moment for not only TNA, but all of wrestling:

    Quote

It’s touching and I’m glad they feel that way. I think that over the years and I’m a wrestling fan too and there have been moments and you go back to the night Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero became wrestling champions. You go back to when CM Punk became champion. The night Daniel Bryan became champion. AJ Styles getting the opportunity in TNA to be the man. I think as a wrestling fan, when you see performers or colleagues succeed and you know they are the type of people that have the same love and passion and respect for the business that you do, that’s what you want to see.

You want to see those people succeed because you know the right people are making it to the top and then it’s our job to make sure the wrestling industry thrives and continues to grow. I feel like we are primed for the next boom in wrestling. If you look at the two major companies, you got the right guys in the right positions. I think with some good thought behind it we can really create a buzz and get people interested in the mainstream and the masses get interested in wrestling again.

On Hulk Hogan being behind him:

    Quote

Initially I didn’t deal with Hulk a lot.We didn’t have a lot of interaction. But I hear a lot of the criticisms within the company and outside the company about his role. My dealings with him have been great. He has a really good mind for the business. I don’t think people understand that. He was one of the most successful performers of all time in this business for a reason. It went beyond just his charisma, his look and all these other factors. He has a great mind for it and I appreciate that he had confidence in me and everyone else in the company had the confidence in me.

    On the X Division:

    Quote

I think if you look at the pay per view last night there was some quality talent that was on the PPV. I imagine some of those guys will continue to be a part of Impact Wrestling moving forward. I think if you look out there, there is a lot of talent who are not under contract to another company or soon will not be under contract to another company, who we definitely want to take a look at and see if they have something to bring to TNA Impact Wrestling. We tried to do the reboot of the X division last year and we tried to infuse some new talent into it. Just through some circumstances and some injuries and some departures, I don’t think it sustained itself as they had hoped.

So I think there will be more effort going forward. When you couple that with the Gut Check concept too, it’s another tool to infuse new talent. Kenny King and Mason Andrews and Rubix, those are all guys who I think if you continue to give opportunities too, will grow with the company and become guys who will definitely be entertaining in the X division and beyond.
