Original Sin Cara to Part Ways with WWE?

Original Sin Cara to Part Ways with WWE?
Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/26/2011 at 03:03 PM

WWE sources indicate that Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the original Sin Cara, was sent home from Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after meeting with company officials. He left the Scotiabank Saddledome before the event's conclusion.

Company sources say developmental talent Jorge Arias (a/k/a Hunico) will exclusively portray the Sin Cara character going forward. WWE wants to maintain the character since its been very popular among kids and in merchandise sales.

Many employees expect Alvirde to part ways with the organization, but that is not 100% confirmed.

WWE re-shot a match between Sin Cara and Heath Slater at Tuesday's taping since the initial bout featured numerous botched maneuvers. Aries portrayed Cara in both matches. Alvirde was dressed to compete, but management opted not to use him.

WWE '12 News: Superstars & Their In-Game Ratings

WWE '12 News: Superstars & Their In-Game Ratings
Posted by Dave Mitchell on 08/26/2011 at 10:57 AM

If you ever wondered whether WWE superstars care about how they are rated in video games - they do.

The official ESPN website is featuring an article looking at the upcoming WWE '12 video game - with quotes from several stars talking about their in-game stats/ratings.

To read the full article, check out ESPN.com.

Here's an excerpt of what Randy Orton said about superstars and their video game ratings:

"Wade Barrett is already an 87. He's 6-5 and the kid can cut one h--- of a promo. He's got a lot of potential. It's funny because I've heard some guys talk about their ratings in the game before. Miz used to always say how they made him lower than some of the divas a few years ago, but it shows how far he's come now that he's a 90 in the game."

Orton continued, "I even heard Punk joke the other day how he wanted to be in the 90s this year, so yeah, we do pay attention to the numbers. How can you not? It's someone rating you. Of course, you want to see what they think."

    Why Jeff Hardy Has Heat

Why Jeff Hardy Has Heat, Update on Hardy's Release
Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/25/2011 at 11:54 AM

    - There is lots of heat on Jeff Hardy right now for announcing on Twitter this week that he was returning at tonight's Impact Wrestling tapings in Huntsville, Alabama. TNA had wanted to keep Hardy's return a surprise until tonight but when Hardy announced it on Twitter, they went ahead and announced it on their website.

Many people in the company were wondering if this was Jeff's "screw you" to TNA after they released his brother Matt Hardy.

Regarding Matt's release, the call came directly from the top of the company - Bob, Janice and Dixie Carter. Dixie heard about Matt's arrest while she was on the road with TNA in Georgia and became very upset. TNA had been planning on bringing back both Matt and Jeff together in time for Bound For Glory.

CM Punk and Steve Austin got fans riled up on Twitter this afternoon after the two went back and forth with some friendly banter.

Austin wrote to Zack Ryder that he shouldn't put a lime in a beer after Ryder talked about drinking Bud Light Lime. Punk replied that the lime is used "to make it not taste like piss" and that beer is "still poison."

Austin replied with the following remark: "you oughta mind your own business...stay focused on Nash and leave the beer drinking to me...Punk."

Punk replied to Austin with: "focus is my middle name...Steven."

Austin then ended the conversation with the following: "my middle name is Whoop Ass...now go about your business before you step in a big pile of what did I get myself into now??"

    UITSLAGEN WWE NXT 23 AUGUSTUS

WWE NXT on WWE.com (Live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

Results by Chris Shore and ProWrestling.net

The opening video aired, and Todd Grisham and William Regal checked in on commentary. They tossed it up to Matt Striker. Striker tried to do his bit, but Darren Young interrupted him and said he was tired of Striker. Striker said they both had jobs to do, but Young cut him off. Young said his job has been beating Striker. He told Striker to get out of the ring.

Striker asked what he wanted. He said he would admit he couldn't beat Young. Young said he wanted Striker to admit Young was the future. Striker stalled and then said Young was the better man. He said he was the past, but Young was the future. He offered his hand to Young. Young shook it, but kicked him in the gut. Young hit a clothesline, and then William Regal ran him off before he could do more…

Backstage, Tyson Kidd found his locker trashed. He started bitching and cleaning it up. He hung up a travel bag for hanging clothes, and the weird Japanese (?) symbols we have seen around Kidd were on it…[C]

    1. Trent Beretta defeated Tyson Kidd 14:52. A "Let's go Tyson," chant broke out. They traded early rest holds with Kidd getting the cheers and Beretta getting the boos. Beretta hit a dropkick out of the air on Kidd for two, and the cut to commercial with no lead out…[C]

Back from commercial, Kidd hit a kick from the floor to the ring on Beretta. He followed up with a neckbreaker from the ring to the floor in a very nice spot. They ran a great Frankensteiner, roll through, Sharpshooter tease, roll-up near-fall that popped the crowd good. Very, nicely done.

Kidd locked in the single leg crab that made the crowd pop. Beretta made the rope. The video screen lit up with the Japanese symbols. Kidd waited for something, but nothing happened. He turned around into Beretta's tornado DDT/slice bread combo for a Beretta victory…[C]

The announce team setup a video that recapped Maxine returning last week. And then my feed froze. When it came back, Maxine was whispering something in Derrick Bateman's ear and walked off…AJ and Hornswoggle made her entrance…[C]

    2. Maxine (w/Derrick Bateman) defeated AJ (w/Hornswoggle) at 6:21. Regal said something about this being Grisham's last night so…Breaking News? AJ clotheslined Maxine and Maxine made the cover. I'm confused. Bateman shoved Horny to the floor and that distracted AJ. Maxine rolled her up by surprise for the win. Post-match, Titus O'Neil ran in to scare Bateman and Maxine away…[C]

The show closed with a video that recapped the Raw main event.

What Happened After Last Night's WWE RAW
Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/23/2011 at 10:42 AM

    - Ian H. sent the following:

After last night's RAW ended here in Edmonton, The Miz and R-Truth ran down to help Alberto Del Rio on the beatdown to John Cena and CM Punk. Punk and Cena fought back, hitting their finishers on Truth & Miz while Del Rio goes to the floor. Punk got Del Rio's scarf and Ricardo Rodriguez was sent in to get it back. Punk teased Ricardo like a matador and then nailed him with a GTS followed by an Attitude Adjustment from Cena.

They did the cheer-off from RAW that they did a few weeks ago and Punk got way more cheers than Cena. Cena raised Punk's arm high and left while Punk hung around for the fans.
