Easter Pictures, eyes are open, dewormed, and 2 weeks old!! Now hoping fore some warmer weather so they can all go in the living room at the end of the week and start with some regular puppy food!! Mr green is now mr. Blue plaid with a greenribbon tied to it as he outgrew his puppy collar!!
Today it was nails & tails day!!! The nails they didn't like, very wiggly, tails they didn't care. I always trim the little hair at the end of the tails many times & then they supposedly get nice full tails. ( So I have heard from a befriended breeder) Green boy is 1356 grams today, pink girl is 1167 gr and red boy is 1244 gr!! So not suffering from Hunger!! I do see some slight opening of the eyes at the sides. It is like glue slowly loosening.
I got them to lay still for a minute to take a picture of the weighing yesterday. Today the green male was past the 1 kilo point!!! A cute red male picture and a find a puppy picture, they sure blend it with Gibbs color!!!
They almost all weigh 1 kilo, so we must start an obstacle course to get to Mom, the "milksupplier", otherwise they will get too FAT!!! Puppy "Weight Watchers"???? No really, they are doing great, no heat lamp during the day, even though it is freezing outside, but they are warm enough!! They are doing great with the stimulation program, very little protest!!
Today I start the stimulation program for 12 days and by then at the end ,eyes and ears are open and we can start different stimulations! Meanwhile still eating good and gaining a lot. They move around the box on their stomach and manage to do that quite fast, searching for the "Milkmachine", while making quite loud noises, especially during the night of course and I lay next to them, trying to sleep Male green at birth 516 gr - now 877 gr Female Pink """"" 448 gr- "" 774 gr Male red """"" 470 gr- "" 833 gr
Pups have gained between 100-150 grams!!!! All are doing well and moving around the whole whelping box!!! Heat lamp off for a few hours as the sun is shining in and that feels so good!!
On St. Patricks day Gibbs delivered 3 puppies, 1 female and 2 males!!! I think she decided Quality instead of Quantity!! They are big and healthy, males 516 gr and 470 gr and the female is 448 gr. They all have gained already more then 40 gr. each. Unfortunately I had to disappoint people, which I feel very bad about, but that is nature, no control over!!!! BUT the good news is that I will do a re-breeding in September!! Below some pictures!!
Gibbs is still going strong!! On our walk this morning on the leash (no more freedom for her right now) she really thought it was absolutely neccesary to do something, so I gave in and had her search 5 discs in the old high grass and she loved it and did it perfect as normal, then she wanted the frisbee as that was what I was doing with Eli & Jinks, (Mom Eli is 9 today), but that was a No, to much jumping and turns. SO now we rest till our walk later!!! Temperature is still very steady!
As of right now the kennel club changed their pedigree "name" policy!!! Instead of 3 minimum-10 maximum letters , one word, it is now 3 minimum- 29 maximum and you can use spaces and -. The only thing that is not allowed ,is that you add another kennelname, besides Whispering Oaks!!! It is still the year of the M, so that does not change for this year!!!
Yesterday a vet check with Gibbs and all was well, so now we wait!! Pictures of this morning of Gibbs resting after we have a snow storm going on outside and played in that!! Also a picture of Odin, who is at rescue training in Norway with his owner and she send this picture!!
Since the weather is so bad, I decided to get all set up and then if later this week, the weather is better ,we can go for some nice walks!!! About 9 + more days, but then that is all done!!! Crossed off the "to do" list!
Today is week 7 and we are getting to be a diesel in work, but she is still willing and interested ,so have to keep her moving to keep in shape. Next week is close to home and not on unknown terrains!!! Yesterday and today was such nice spring like weather and she enjoyed just sunning!!
Found some pictures on my camera from Gibbs in the snow last sunday (hopefully the last of this spring ) And last night she was lying in her bed, snoring away!!!!
Gibbs is 6 weeks today, so 3 more to go and growing and hungry and not going so fast anymore, where is my ferrari???, now she is a normal one and pretty soon a Diesel and then a very slow Diesel, but that is ok
And a very nice family picture of father Odin, son Baccus (out of Eli/Odin) 9 months old now and the rest of the family in Sweden!!
Goldens with a GO!! This blog is about the upcoming litter out of Gibbs x Odin!! My golden puppies are home whelped and raised. They undergo early neurological stimulation from days 3-16 and are socialized throughout their 7 weeks with us. Their time indoors is spent in an enriching environment, learning to navigate obstacles and tunnels, as well as being introduced to children, adults, crates and all the sights and sounds of the home enviroment!!
Outside I take the puppies for walks (weather and age permitting). The puppies have also been for a few car rides before they travel to their new homes.
The puppies have had their toenails trimmed regularly. They are dewormed at 2,4 and 6 weeks and have had their 6 week puppy vaccination and a vet check up before leaving us for their new homes. Puppies come with the Belgium Official kennel Club FCI pedigree, pet pasport and chip, dewormed, vaccinated, vetchecked, puppypack, and 18 kilo's of Eukanuba puppy food and pet buddy with nest smell.
Serious inquiries from working homes are welcome. A deposit is required within a week after birth to reserve your puppy. For more info please email me at: whispering.oaks@telenet.be
Gibbs is doing great. Still very active with working ,but I notice that she gets a little winded now after 5 retrieves, so next week we will slow her down a little She also gets an extra meal at lunch time, she is very hungry and then the 6th week ,I will start splitting up meals in 4 since the puppies are taking up more room and it will be better for her to eat in small portions several times a day!!
