hi everyone! time flies when you're having fun! or when you are working really hard! for me it was the working very hard one that has got me behind on keeping up my blog. These last weeks have been filled with making articles for a magazine, making scraplay-outs for a brochure, demonstrating cool new cardstock and teaching some lovely Swedish people all i know about the Cricuts and the CDS, i still have some deadlines to meet but i feel confident that it will all fit into my chaotic life! I'm also busy translating some wonderful books on jewellery making by my good friend Un-Roen who will be leaving for Beads & Buttons soon, i wish her a great time and lots of fun with her workshops there. oh yes! i also had a demonstration scrapbooking at a children's farm! that was something different i can tell you that! imagine giving a demonstration between all these little chooks, cheeping away like crazy, a big fat pregnatn pig, about to give birth any minute, but she didn't... it was quite an experiance, believe you me! but fun! the kids were all so cute and the mams were all eager to find out about scrapbooking so i think my friend Bep will have some new croppers at het table in Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands really soon! so, as you see, i've been "pretty" into "things" haha!
i feel so lucky to be in this business really! i love playing around with new material, new techniques and i really love sharing my experience and my joy!
okay, i'm back to the drawing board, have some more articles to finish... pity i can't take it outside, the sun is shining.
hi there, i haven't had a day off in ages! not that i'm really complaining cause i love what i do and normally enjoy every minute of it, sometimes however, it can be tiring juggeling my creative life and job with my part-time dayjob at an old peoples home and then the care of the kids of course, which comes up at number one on this list really!
today i have a day off from my part-time day job, kids are at school, i just got myself a great sandwich filled with lots of veg and pesto, yummie treat!
i took some time to read tim's blog and then went onto donna's blog ( by link on tim's blog)! cute woman really! inspiring woman!
i think i'm going to sit myself down at my work table, sitting on my amizing new trendy chair, bought at ikea the other day! i've been wanting that chair for some time but thought 100 euros was a bit much, think of all the stamps you can buy with that! but now i bought it! and i'm happy and love it! it is so stylish and artsy!
i'm really into this soldering of the memory glass, i'm making hangers with loops to hang cool stuff on, it is so neat how i can mix my creative crafts such as stamping, collage, scrapping and jewellery making into one, it is great! i was having trouble with the aluminium coloured tape from ranger, i sent tim a mail about it along with a chat and i got an amazing great mail back from him, he really took some time to write down stuff for me, thanks tim, i know your time is limited and you usually only have time for a short word! so i really appriciate your mail!
ok, i'm off to sit in my great chair at my messy table and have a bit of a play
oh, i'm back! i just had to share this wonderful picture of the apple trees! i live between the apple, pear and cherry trees and just about now they are going to burst out in blossom! a truly magnificant sight! an explosion of white everywhere, youhave to see it to believe it
oh dear, today i hada go at soldering! i'd never done that before but after seeing how cool it looks om the memory glass frames, i really wanted to have a go at it! i'm not bad at it! i mean it, it is so much fun, okay! i burnt my poor finger once, i got some solder on my leg, dripped onto my jeans! and ouch! jeans doesn't keep the heat away!
but okay, i had so much fun playing around, soldering things to a little mintbox, trying to stick all sorts to the tin, just to see what can and what not! i don't believe in the what not! i always find my way around things!
are you like me? do you enjoy fooling around with new techniques and altering things, i just love the endless possibilities and the learning of new things, it makes me feel young again! never too old to learn new tricks! that's what i say.
have a look on tim holtz blog! he has some cool hangers on there! really neat stuff! wish i could join in on his workshops but belgium is a touch to far to travel this weekend!
i'm off to have another play with my son's soldering station! have fun with whatever you are up to!
i had a blog for a short while but then i moved and couldn't find the time to keep it up to date and eventually i lost the login and so, moƧnths later and hopefully with a little more time, i have started my new blog! fot those of you who don't know me: i'm tanya watts, mother to 5 kids, scrapper, stamper, jewellery-maker and alterd art lover, i'm passionate about altering all i can get my hands on i work freelance for a couple of distributors in the netherland and belguim, i give trainings for european shop owners, i can be found demonstrating at small shops, giving workshops, teaching cool stuff during scrapweekends, writing articles for magazines.,,, i do this for a living by the way! and as a single mother, i'm glad to say it works!
a bit more about altered art projects, i love to alter big things such as old wardrobes, ienjoy sanding things down by hand, i love the labour involved, i think it is great to see how i can change something into something i really like and that is my own! i alter small things such as chainwatches, mintboxes,... ting dingy things to put in my handbag, and as long as i can get out my Ranger supplies i'm happy! just give me my inks, dabbers, perfect pearls, utee, blending and heat tool and let me be! i'm over the moon whenever i'm able to create. i'm such a lucky person to be able to do this!
with this blog i wanted to create a place where i can share some of my ideas, thoughts, tips and great links with all you artists out there
remember! life is filled with pretty things. enjoy them! creative hugs tanya
Nu is uw blog bijna aangemaakt. Ga nu naar uw e-mail en wacht totdat u van Bloggen.be een e-mailtje heeft ontvangen. In dat e-mailtje dient u op het unieke internetadres te klikken.
