Mike Posner on Miley Cyrus: âWeâre Not Datingâ
Pop singer Mike Posner is denying allegations that he and Miley Cyrus are an item. “We’re not dating,” he tells PopEater.
Posner explained that while the two are definitely friends, Cyrus is just too young for him.
“She’s a nice girl, but I’m 22 and a half,” he said at Rolling Stone magazine’s American Music Awards after party. Cyrus turns 18 on Nov. 23.
Rumors linking the two young stars began to circulate after they were seen together following the MTV European Music Awards in Madrid earlier this month.
While Posner says that all he wants for Christmas is a girlfriend — one his own age — Miley is not giving up that easily. Several sources are reporting that Posner is on the top of the “super-exclusive” guest list for the pop star’s 18th birthday party.
Dolly Parton is not a fan of Miley Cyrus’ raunchy new image and fears the young star is “surrounded” by advisers who are steering her career in the wrong direction.
The country legend has known Cyrus since she was a baby and has previously labelled the 18-year-old singer/actress her “honorary goddaughter”.
The Hannah Montana star has shed her clean-cut image in recent months, wearing increasingly saucy outfits and shocking fans with provocative stage performances.
Parton is adamant she hasn’t “encouraged” the youngster to flash the flesh, and fears Cyrus may be getting bad advice from her managers.
She tells Larry King, “Hopefully she didn’t get that from me because I certainly never encouraged her to do any of that… I think she’s just in a cross – she’s just kind of in a crosswinds trying to overcome the Hannah Montana little girl, and trying to become a young woman… I don’t know if she’s surrounded by people that are helping (her to) not make the wise decisions…”
And Parton is worried showbusiness is becoming increasing tough on young girls like Cyrus, adding: “I think this day and time life is hard for young people, certainly young girls… The world is just… you just can’t flaunt enough. You can’t just do enough. You can’t just talk trashy enough or dress trashy enough. It seems to be like if you don’t do that you’re not in the in crowd. So I think that there’s a lot of pressure just on young people in general and I think they put a lot of pressure on themselves…”
But the 9 To 5 hitmaker remains hopeful the former Disney star will grow out of her rebellious ways: “I’m hoping that Miley is going to be just fine. I know she’s very gifted and I love her dearly and if she ever needs me I’ll do everything I can to help her in any way that I can. So I think we should just let her grow up.”
Miley Made Out with Avan Jogia at Her Birthday Bash
MILEY Cyrus kissed teen actor Avan Jogia during her 18th birthday party on Sunday night.
The singer-and-actress — whose actual birthday is today — celebrated reaching the landmark age at Los Angeles nightclub Trousdale.
She headed straight to the nightspot after performing at the American Music Awards (AMAs) and was seen smooching the 18-year-old Canadian star — who appears in new Nickelodeon TV series Victorious, which follows the life of fictional aspiring singer Tori Vega and her days at performing arts high school Hollywood Arts.
Despite the embrace, it has been claimed that Miley and Avan are not dating.
“They’re just hanging out,” a source told People magazine. “She’s still single. They have just hung out together a few times and are getting to know each other — that’s really it right now.”
Miley partied with her mother Tish, actress Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher, Demi’s daughter Rumer Willis, Kelly Osbourne, actor-and-rapper Kyle Massey and Glee stars Mark Salling and Chord Overstreet as DJ Cobra played music.
As well as getting a birthday kiss from Avan, Miley was also treated to a giant red velvet cake, Key lime pies, chocolate mousse and raspberry shot glasses and a dessert table, all provided by the Sweet & Saucy Shop.
The teen star — whose father Billy Ray Cyrus is currently divorcing her mother — has revealed she likes to celebrate her birthday for an entire month.
“I have a birthday month. I do the whole month of November. Thanksgiving, cake — it’s all about me on Thanksgiving!” she said.
She's already celebrated it with a party and a kiss, but Miley Cyrus officially turns 18 today.
The singer/actress first rose to prominence in 2006 as the star of Hannah Montana. Since then, she's literally grown up in front of the world's eyes, receiving criticism over the last few months for making such blatant attempts to prove her maturity that she rarely wore pants on stage.
But Miley's fans have been pointing to this date all along, awaiting the time they can say Cyrus can legally vote, purchase tobacco and serve in the armed forces... so critics can finally shut the heck up about her supposedly inappropriate ways.
Miley Cyrus did not win any American Music Awards last night.
But the singer did win over the crowd with a rendition of "Love and Forgiveness," a song off the album "Can't Be Tamed." Multiple sources confirm Miley originally planned to cover “Every Rose Has Its Thron” on stage, but made a last-minute switch due to a certain rumor.

Miley Cyrus Celebrates 18th Birthday with Friends, Family, Cupcakes... and Kisses!
Miley Cyrus celebrated her 18th birthday a couple days early last night.
First, the singer performed "Love and Forgiveness" at the American Music Awards. Then, she rented out Los Angeles nightclub Trousdale and threw herself a party, surrounded by friends (Demi Moore, Rumer Willis, AJ Michalka) and family members (mother Tish).
Cyrus turns 18 tomorrow, but she received the best birthday present of all from rumored boyfriend Avan Jogia around 2 a.m. this morning.
At least let's hope that was Avan Jogia. Late into the party, some guy was spotted kissing Miley's neck. See the photographic evidence of this tongue bath below:

According to a fan they were not happy with waiting for a long time for such a short show.
From Allie: Miley was supposed to perform from 4-5 and only performed for 20 minutes. I spent 23 hours waiting for Miley for a 20 minute performance. I know a lot of people unhappy at how much they went through for such a short concert.
A Microsoft worker said that since she was cold and fussy they cut it short. She sang 6 songs for $1.1 million. She performed: Can’t Be Tamed, Driveway, Jolene, Robot, Who Owns My Heart & The Climb. I love Miley but this was a bit ridiculous.
Miley Cyrus to Sing 'Forgiveness and Love' at American Music Awards
Two days shy of her 18th birthday, Miley Cyrus has had more than her share of grown-up pressures, most recently thedivorce of her parents.
The singer, whose birthday is Tuesday, intends to show off her more adult side with a rendition of her single "Forgiveness and Love" at the 2010 American Music Awards on Sunday.
Justin Bieber also hopes to make a splash with his new single "Pray," and will be putting on a huge number with a band and some surprise guests.
Bieber, Usher, Lady Antebellum and Eminem are all nominated for multiple awards.
The show will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Sources tell Hollywood Life that Avan Jogia has been spotted out on multiple occasions with the singer, saying the two have been "hanging and getting closer," possibly contributing to the reasons why Miley broke up with Liam Hemsworth for the 29th time a few weeks ago.

Jogia appeared on the SyFy series Caprica and is best known for his role on the Nickelodeon show Victorious.
Although an insider says Cyrus "wants to be officially single for her birthday [November 23] and just have fun with whomever she hangs out with," witnesses spotted her and Jogia on at least two separate occasions in October:
They had lunch on the 28th.
They attended a Halloween party together a few days later.
Avan also gave an interview to Tiger Beat about the alleged relationship and said: “We’re hanging out, but I don’t really have to much to say about that."
Fair enough. With Miley's busy schedule - she recently performed in Europe and will return to the States this Sunday for the American Music Awards - it's difficult for anyone to lock her down these days.

During a break from rehearsing for her appearance at this Sunday's American Music Awards, Miley answered these questions and more. To wit:
"Kevin is actually the boyfriend of someone that works very closely with me," Miley says. "So there was definitely a little awkwardness since she was on set or whatever."
For understandable reasons, Miley remained mum on the topic of her parents' divorce, not commenting on rumors that she played an indirect role in their split.
