Antwerp is prudish

The provincial authorities canceled the Photographic Exhibition "Fenomenale Feminatheek" of Louis PaulBoon. Normally it had to go on summer 2008, but deputy Ludo Helsen said that there was no artistic content.The "Feminatheek" has a content of 22.400 pictures with women posing, it are often just pictures from an old paper that the famous author Boon collected. Helsen finds it ,because of the fact that it's a collection of an author, more appropriate to keep the exhibition in a literary museum instead of a photographic museum.
Now they decided to keep the exhibition during the lierary festival "Zogezegd" in Gent, so said curator Anne Provoost last Thursday. She also said she wants to do this exhibition to show the people that prudishness is over these days, and that politics shouldn't draw the line.
