This task gave us the chance to dig in the news every week. So we searched in our own interests for news we could easily translate into English. Like this, I got attention for another type of grammatical errors. Now I have more attention for the difference between British English and American English. With this task I also learned a couple words. Such as pentathlon and decathlon. I also have discovered that you cant translate Dutch literally into English. I think that I mostly have gone wrong there. Especially at sense structure and word order. Of course the times are also not obvious to translate this way. With that I mostly go wrong. I have tried not to translate literally, because you get more feeling with your senses this way. The most mistakes happen with translating literally. To reduce that I have obtained my news from sites, more then from articles. Then you learn for yourself to order the article as we learned during the lessons Dutch. This task was very informative, but we can only learn things when we are being corrected. Marieke Van Herck
