R4i gold 3ds is a cartridge that looks similar to a legitimate Nintendo DS or 3DS game cartridge that can let DS/3DS players to run DS games.It also allows you to watch movies and read e-book. Follow the steps to watch movies with a r4i gold:

Step 1.Download the latest r4i wood kernel and r4i gold kernel

Please note that r4i gold flashcart has its own kernel,but usually we use r4i wood kernel instead, in this tutoral, we’ll download both of the two kernels as below.Currently,the latest wood kernel is 1.36,and the latest r4i gold kernel is v1.51b:

Step 2.Unzip the two compressed files

Step 3.You’ll see 6 files in ENG folder:

_SYSTEM_
_DS_MENU.DAT
changelog.txt
readme.txt
WOODR4.NDS
And you’ll see 5 files in Wood_R4iGold_V1.36 folder, as you can see in the screenshot below:

Step 4.Coply the “__rpg” and “WOODR4.NDS” files to the ENG foler and overwriting conflicting files

Step 5.And coply the the 6 files into the root of your MicroSD cart

Step 6.Insert your Mircro SD cart to your R4i gold 3DS and boot up your 3DS.

Unzip the file downloaded aforementioned (using Winrar) on your PC
Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have ?

2.Select all the above four unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card
3.Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
4.Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i SDHC. Insert the R4i SDHC with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console.
Turn on the DS console.
5.You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message.  Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.
6.For DSi or DSi XL, you will see the following icon with the name Disney/Pixar Finding Nemo Escape to the Big Blue THQ.
Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.
7.Wait for the R4i SDHC 3DS to load.
8.Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your R4i SDHC 3DS. There you go.
Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.
9.If the screen is stuck with the ‘Loading’ message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.

* For R4i Gold and R4i Gold 3DS card, it contains: “_rpg”, “_DS_MENU” and “WOODR4.NDS”.
* For R4idsn and R4idsn 3DS card, it contains: “_rpg” and “_DSMENU”.
3. Copy all the files to the root directory of the TF card, they will cover old files automatically.
