-Of verdronken-
Wilde geruchten over Tokio Hotel!

-jah, Tom Kaulitz is men blijkbaar vergeten-
Behind his sulky look, Gustav is actually hiding a captivating and appreciable personality. Beside his bands friend, the young drummer savours today the delight of his success. A success built around his passion for music and friend ship.
Is the success of Tokio Hotel your best reward ?
Gustav : Yes, Im really glad to see our efforts crowned this way. I believe that Ive made the right choices. Drums came into my life when I was 5, and Ive spend all my energy for it. When all the kids of the neighbourhood were playing outside, I was alone, in my room, playing drums for hours. I was made for that, I was sure of that. The day Ive noticed Bill & Tom rehearsing in a shed in Magdeburg seven years ago, I kind of had an revelation. I knew my fate would be to play with them. And I wasnt wrong.
Could this success make your head spinning ?
Gustav : Im playing music by passion not to bright under the spotlights. Audience's ovations and rewards make me feel really happy, but as soon as the curtain is down, my lucidity's back. Play on stage or on a television stage need great concentration. If I losted my seriousness and my discipline, I would not play correctly.
Are the other members so strict ?
Gustav : We all have very different caracters, but we are sharing the same ambition and determination for work. As we've made our first steps on stage together, we know how many efforts we have to make to get success. None of us is planning to rest and each of us is doing something to stay high performance.
People say you're perfectionist ...
Gustav : With me, everything has to be perfectly settled. I never leave place for improvization, even for some small details. For example, I systematicly put my drums and stool in a extremely precise place of the stage, always the same place. If someone tried to move them, even a centimeter, I could be really cross ! Except my assistant, no one is allowed to approach my drums.
Not even Bill ?
Gustav: Not at all ! He has already suffered my anger, so he even doesn't dare sitting on my stool. When you are in a band, you have to follow some rules to respect the freedom of each one. If not, tensions can soon arrive...
Are there any crisis in your band ?
Gustav : It happens, but that is really rare. I'm pretty touchy, so I often get excited very quickly. I shout, I get ouf of my nerves et finally I disapear a moment. When I'm back, I'm calm again, and everything is forgotten.
What is the last example ?
Gustav : A few hours before a gig, I was checking the series of some particularly fast paces. The exercice was pretty difficult and I had to get some heating to get over it... Then Georg, Tom and Bill came into the room and exclaimed all together : "Hey, your stuff isn't very good ..." My touchiness came out and I immediatly got excited and cross.
Have you already think about stopping everything ?
Gustav : Leave the band at any moment would me a terrible lack of professionnalism and most of all, an unforgievable mistake. Our few bad moods or quarrels never get on our band's progress, that's a basic principle. That's why, when I vanish before a gig to get calm down, Tom, Bill and Georg know that I'll be back smiling and calmed down, half an hour before the gig.
Would you prefer to be more highlighted ?
Gustav : I'm naturally a unobtrusive guy. Thats why, I like to be set back from the stage. Unlike Bill, I would be unable to be constantly under every one's eyes... That's not my thing, even if I appreciate my small glory moments [laughs] At the end of every gig, when Bill & Co have left the stage, I come back to harangue the audience and make a giant ola. And this little ritual bring me lot of satisfaction...
Do you lack self confidence ?
Gustav : I have, that's true, kind of a reserve facing people, neither from fear, nor from embarassment. Let's say I'm more an introvert. Besides that trait brings me mockeries from my family and friends who believe I'm a squeezed and sulky boy. [Smile]
Are you that grouchy and bad tempered?
Gustav : I have to say yes, I'm pretty grouchy, even sulky. One squint word, an ironic remark, and I'm sulking. I know that is a character flaw, that's already a good beginning....Now I have the heavy task to corect that ! [Laughs]
Were you a loner teenager ?
Gustav : Overwhelmed by complex, I was a very unsociable kid, always at a distance from other kids....
Did you have reasons to feel bad ?
Gustav : Life hasn't always been tender with me, particularly when I was a teenager...[Laughs] First, I've always been pretty small, when I was in 9th Grade, I was only about 1.19 meter...[grimace] Then, I had horrible skin problems. As soon as school was over, I ran to shut myself up in my room praying for god not to meet someone I know. I was so ashamed! Inevitably all these complex pushed me to be lonely and didn't help me to get over my shyness.
Did you get over your old complex ?
Gustav : At a time I was thinking I would never grow up, I suddenly had thrust of grow up, and in a few months I was 1.70 meter. As for spots, they finally vanished after several treatments. Step by step, I won more self confidence. Today, I feel very good and don't hesitate to have fun about those old demons! [ wink]
What importance do you give to people's look ?
Gustav : Younger, I have suffered a lot from other's look. Fortunately, with time, I learned to ignore sarcastic remarks and I felt more and more comfortable. Now, I don't care about what others think about me. I advise that to everyone by the way !
Is your look like important for you ?
Gustav : Leaving most of the time with Bill & Tom, I have made some progress for that. Besides I had to ! [Laughs] Before, I could wear anything, like that ridiculous T Shirt I brought from a trip to Val Thorens [ Ski Station, France] with a cow wearing skis ! When I came to rehearsing with that T shirt, I provoked general hilarity. Georg, Tom and Bill still laugh about it today. Since that, I am more careful to what I'm wearing, I'm even more flirtatious...
What qualities do chicks like in you ?
Gustav : I maybe look like grouchy at first look, but by scraping a bit, I'm actually very nice and funny. People also say I'm courteous, tidy and an excellent cooker. ..

-gaat over Bill Kaulitz-
How would you describe your rockstars life ?
The first image coming to my mind is like a hurricane mixing excitement, joy and stress. Being on stage, meeting fans or playing on TV shows, every events bring a big dose of adrenaline. I live life like on a fast highway...and I enjoy every second with a full intensity.
Whats the privilege you like the most in your life?
The international succes of Tokio Hotel allows me to travel all around the world. Yesterday in Italy, today in France, tomorrow in Russia...I go from discoveries to discoveries. Its a fascinating part of my job.
And whats the constraint you would like to avoid?
Tokio Hotel is my reason to live. I give everything for the band. So my private life became almost non existent. Moments shared with my people get more and more rare everyday.
Is fame easy to live with?
Tokio hotels succes was so sudden. Nobody expected such a warm welcome. From one day to the other, we were everywhere on the magazines. I then discover the grisly mechanism of Tabloids...so many lies, rumors, fake photos appeared on the press. I confess now that the first 6 months were a terrible time to go through. It me took some time to get used to all this.
Did you manage to cut the rumors off?
Once Id gone through the rebellion phase and the I want to break everything phase, I ended up understanding that there wasnt any point of fighting against those liars and it was pointless to even try to tell the truth because as soon as a denial was published, a new rumor was coming to set a new scandal...In the end, I know that avoiding the gossip was the best weapon to keep me from suffering. I know that now.
Did you ever loose control in front of a paparazzi?
Im lucky enough to be surrounded by some very discouraging bodyguards. (laughs)! And nobody ever bothered me...yet. But if one of them ever try to approach me a little too close, Im not sure ill be able to keep my calm. I could totally end up fighting him.
If you could be a normal person for a week-end, what would you do?
Ill bring all my family and my friends and altogether we would hang out in town. We could have lunch on the terrasse of a restaurant on a place where people passes by just so I could appreciate the joy of being anonymous... Then we would go to the movies and then in an amusement parc, I love scary, fast rollercoasters. I would also love to go to New York. Id love discovering this magical city.
Whats the most important aspect of your character ?
Im a very independant person. When i was a little boy, Id always make my own way, without asking anyone. Ive always run after autonomy. Earning life, ensure my future, taking care of me, only counting on myself...Ive always lived with this philosophy.
Do you easily give your trust ?
The life im living doesnt allow me to build strong relationships. You always need a little time to figure out what kind of person is in front of you and as I never stay in a place more than 3 days in a row, I dont have time to get if people I meet can be trusted or not. So I can count on one hand the persons I really trust.
To who do you tell your little secrets?
2 persons know everything about me: Tom, my twin brother and Andreas my best friend. I have sympathy and respect for a lot of people like good friends or some professionnal relationships but I always keep a certain distance.
When youre in love, do you have the tendancy to hide your feelings?
Well it depends on the situation...If I fall for a girl I think I have 0 chance with (does that exists lol), I wont say anything. I still have my pride. (smile). But if the feelings are mutual, I open my heart without restriction. Im not afraid to say I love you.
What kind of lover are you?
Im caring, passionated, possessive, incredibly romantic too. When Im in love, its always fusional. I need to be next to my love every second, feeling her against me, sharing everything with her. Unfortunately, I havent lived this joy for 2 years.
Whats your main seductions asset?
Im a very open person, I always go talk to people in a very spontaneous way, without manners. This ease with contact always please people.
Whats your technique to get what you want?
When I really care about something, its very easy: I only think and talk about it until I get what I want. (laughs). A little bit like a child, I act all sweet and nice to wheedle people. Works like a charm!
Sometimes, you must get some nos...
Careful, im really stubborn, If I get a no, I can insist during days and days in hope to get satisfaction. Sometimes I confess I get some foursquare refusal and then Im vexed and in a terrible mood (smile)
Whats the worst advice you ever get?
Therere many. I remember one of my friend who I was shopping with. He had succeed in convincing me to buy a jacket he found terrific. That jacket was in reality a cheap peel, like a disgusting colorful wig...I dont know whats got into me this day, I was probably in the middle of my teenage crisis and I was missing bearings...(laughs)
Adolescence...what memories do you have about it?
Well during puberty, between the pimple and the physical changings, you dont feel very well. I remember my style was ridiculous, my clothes hideous, my hair was a catastrophy and my love experiences were a disaster. Adolescence is a phase when you look for yourself and you try so many things before really finding you.
At 17, youre already out of it?
Life with the band put me straight in the adult world. I had to solve problems without the help of my parents and had to face unusual responsabilities for a boy my age. Without really realising it, I left the adolescence world a little early. Nevertheless, it doesnt keep me from doing rather foolish stuff and acting like a real kid somtimes.
What kind of foolish stuff are you talking about?
Little everyday stuff...too foolish to talk to you about...I wouldnt like to embarras the others. Tom, Gustav & Georg wouldnt forgive me if I did some revelations(winks)...

verrassing!!
Hier is dus deel 1:
Georg Listing: "I've had a very liberal education!" Son of a good family, Georg was raised by parents who never set restrictions. He cleverly applied this freedom to music, his greatest passion. Such was the point of departure of his fabulous adventure with the band Tokio Hotel...
How did music come into your life? At my house, music reigned. My parents, both doctors, didn't play any instruments, but they had a real passion for rock. My father, in particular, had an impressive collection of albums. He knew the classics such as Eric Clapton, the Beatles, or the Rolling Stones by heart. Thanks to him, I had the chance to go to some legendary concerts. The musical universe has always fascinated me.
Is Tokio Hotel your first band? Not exactly. In middle school, I wanted to start a band with two of my friends. In the end, the project fell through. Then I came across Gustav in Magdeburg's music conservatory. We played in the same orchestra, him on the drums and me playing bass. A little bit afterwards, we met Bill and Tom and eventually founded Devilish, our first band...
What was in your repertoire? A mix of pop, rock, and metal, we started off a little in every sense [a little bit of everything?]...At the time, we were just four kids who were passionate but unskilled(laughs)! I have excellent memories of our beginnings regardless. Even if there was nobody listening to us, on our part, we believed in ourselves like iron , and we fooled around like maniacs.
How did you get past the obstacle of amateurism? The meeting in 2004 with our producers and composers, Peter Hoffman, Pat Benzer, Dave Roth, and David Jost, was the deciding factor. They believed in our talent and gave us the means of recording a great album, Schrei. Still, we never would have been able to work with a team like that if we hadn't endlessly kept performing to get noticed. We were lucky, it's true, but we also knew how to bring it about.
What's the philosophy of the group? The Tokio Hotel adventure rests on two fundamentals: passion for music and friendship. We take pleasure in playing together, both for ourselves and for our public. In this sense, our philosophy can be summed up by the famous Latin saying "Carpe Diem," which means "seize the day."
What are your future projects? We're not in the habit of planning the life of the band in advance. Plus, things go so quickly for us that everything is totally unpredictable! For example, how could we have imagined sparking such a craze in France? In fact, the decisions concerning the band are made as we go along. We act according to events and the demands of our public.
Is it still too early to talk of a third album? At the moment, we're concentrating our efforts on the European promotion of our second album, Zimmer 483, and the English version of our first work, Scream. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, I would like to have a bit of vacation before moving onto anything else (smiles)...But, who knows, maybe things will come about on their own one more time?
Exactly what kind of bonds link Bill, Tom, Gustav, and you? On a strictly professional plane, there is a lot of esteem and respect among us. On a more personal plane, our collaboration is perfect. We're not a band from a reality TV show or pre-made. We share a real history of friendship that already goes back seven years. We were kids when we men - I was 14, Gustav was 13, and Bill and Tom were only 12! This mutual past creates strong and authentic ties [bonds] between us.
Tom loves to tease you interviews - do you sometimes take offense? (Smiles)...It's true, Tom has a knack for cracking jokes about me in front of journalists. I find it rather amusing. It's even become a game between us, and we both get something out of it. On his part, by joking about my little weaknesses, he diverts the attention and avoids talking about his own. And on my part, I like his [this?] way of relaxing the atmosphere.
Does he sometimes go overboard? Tom is lucky - I'm very patient (laughs)! With respect to unpleasant things that could bother me, they go in one ear and out the other. I have my faults, but being touchy [sensitive] isn't one of them.
What's your best trait? People seem to appreciate my control and level head. Whatever the situation, I stay calm and keep control of my emotions. But I also know that my impassiveness [nonchalance] annoys certain people... (T/N: lol TOM)
On the edge of the group, is there still time for yourself? It's necessary for my stability [balance] to be able to share moments with my family and people close to me. Besides, in the group, we all need our free time, to simply take a break from work. Also, when we return to Magdeburg for a few days, each person goes off on his own. Me, I see my buddies and my brother, I go to the movies, and I forget everything else.
Who would you ask for advice? I make all my decisions alone, without consulting anybody, not even my parents. My mother was the one who taught me to go through life according to my own instincts, even if I make mistakes...I've had a very liberal education where nothing was forbidden. My mom always wanted to let me experiment with things myself, both the good and the bad. She was convinced that I would learn from my mistakes myself.
How did you celebrate your 20th birthday? The night of my birthday, March 31, we gave a concert in Poland. I had a very private little party a few days afterward...
What present would please you the most? I dream of a very beautiful sports car, like a convertible Lamborghini (smiles)...
You have luxurious taste... I admit that I appreciate beautiful things and comfort. Since I have the means to taste luxury, why deprive myself?
What are your vacation plans for this summer? I expect to invite my family and my best friend to a paradisiacal [heavenly] place where I can practice scuba diving and golf to my heart's content.
COUP DE COEUR (soft spot)
In his mind, Georg considers Fergie, the singer for the Black Eyed Peas, to be one of the sexiest celebrities. He declares himself bewitched by her irresistible sex appeal. The young man acknowledges that he just has a penchant for sexy girls in general. At parties, Georg is rarely unaffected by the appeal of swaying hips on the dance floor...

-was nogal drukjes-
*stress*

Genoeg info? -ben kei benieuwd!-

interview met Georg (Bravo 14)
I haven't really been in love yet!
Georg very personall: In Bravo the bassist from tokio hotel is showing his soft side....
Bravo: You are the oldest from Tokio Hotel. Are you also the smartest? Georg: Actually, the smartest one is Gustav. But I am very close. But I also get into a lot of shit.
Bravo: Do you watch the other ones? Georg: No, absolutely not. It is not my intention to be the father figure in this band and tell them what to do. I would never say: Dont do that. They have to learn from there own mistakes.
Bravo: Arent the other ones more childish? Georg: No! We already know each other since seven years and are totally like each other. The others are more mature or I just remaint childish (laughs). I think we just meet in the middle.
Bravo: You look very cool - how would you describe yourself? Georg: I am just a really cool dude (laughs)! No, seriously: Actually I am very shy. But I also like to party and have fun and off course music is the most important for me.
Bravo: During photoshoots you usually dont smile are you even happy? Georg: I am, but I just cant smile because I have to. I only smile or laugh when something is sincerely funny.
Bravo: What makes you laugh? Georg: I dont really like comedy shows, or that kind of comedy. Mostly I laugh about myself, I am just a really clumsy person. I always trip over things, thats just the way I was born. Tom, Bill and Gustav always have something to laugh about with me.
Bravo: What is your biggest strength? Georg: That I am very calm. I always stay calm and think about stuff quietly. Another strength from me is: punctuality (laughs to death).
Bravo: Was that ironic. Georg: Absolutely. I am working on it and it has improved. But I just cant wake up in the morning. I am the only one in the band who gets 3 wake up calls, because I just cant get out of bed. I pick up the phone and say âI am awake, and then go back to sleep. I dont know why. I actually cant stand it when people arent punctual.
Bravo: How is it for you that Tom and Bill are almost always in the spotlight? Georg: I think it is totally fine the way it is. Every band has a front man and in our case that is Bill and he is doing an absolutely fantastic job. I am more in the background and I am having fun there. I am happy that we have such a good time as a band.
Bravo: With which band member can you relate to the most? Georg: We all share much with each other. There is not one of them I would trust more with a secret. The other boys are all my best friends and we stand very close to each other.
Bravo: Do you also have a life besides Tokio Hotel? Georg: Absolutely, It is very important to me to also have friends that have nothing to do with the band. That way I can totally get away from it when I have time of. I still have my old friends from Magdeburg who I contact very often and go do stuff with. They are very important to me.
Bravo: What would you be now if it werent for Tokio Hotel? Georg: After I graduated I tried to follow some studies. I always wanted to be a dentist but I cant imagine that now anymore. What really fascinates me now is Physiology. That really is just so interesting.
Bravo: What is important in life to you? Georg: First is my Family, after that the band and then my friends. Pets are also very important. I have a dog and a cat and because I am an only child they are like family to me.
Bravo: Are you romantic? Georg: When I really like a girl I am very romantic. I like candle-light-dinners, and like to put up candles. I always surprise her and go by the moment.
Bravo: When was the last time you were in love? Georg: That is a long time ago. When I think about it. I never have really been in love. If it really was love we would still be together. I am off course totally hooked when I like a girl.
Bravo: Do you want a girlfriend? Georg: I just can imagine it would be hard. But I think when your real love comes along it will work out. I am not looking thinking, if you dont look for it, you find it sooner..
Bravo: What kind of girls do you like? Georg: I dont have a certain typ. She should be an open and nice person , someone you can have fun with.
Bravo: What is your big wish for the future? Georg: We are busy preparing for the tour. I wish everything goes well during the show, nobody is going to be sick and that we can offer our fans a really cool show.

interview met Gustav (Bravo 13)
Gustav: I am really shy!
Bravo: How are you and what are you doing? Gustav: It is going super! I only have blisters on my hands. We are just practicing so hard for the tour. But I am really looking forward to being on the road again. It is gonna be so cool!
Bravo: Be honest: what kind of type are you? Gustav: I rather dont make judgement about myself. Others can do that way better.
Bravo: Has all the fame changed you? Gustav: My parents know me already for a long time (laughs) they say, that I havent changed a bit.
Bravo: Is it important to you to stay true to yourself? Gustav: Yes, It is very important to me to stay myself! It just would be insane if I want yellow flowers at my concert and if there are red ones Ill just cancel the whole show! I just dont understand that.
Bravo: Stars always have someone to do everything for them. Do you have that too? Gustav: I rather do things myself. That way I am also in control (grins)! They dont have to crawl for me.!
Bravo: Also you have many female fans lying at your feet. How do you deal with that? Gustav: I am very happy with our fans! But going with the one after the other is just not my thing. I also never have done that.
Bravo: Bill hasnt been kissed in two years, when was your last time? Gustav: (thinks) Boah, I really dont know that anymore.!
Bravo: In August 2005 you had a girlfriend for a short while Gustav: yes! Probably around that time yes. I am also really curious if I still kiss well? I have no idea. You have to keep practicing (laughs)!
Bravo: Do you flirt? Gustav: On one hand I am really shy, but on the other hand I really would like to have a girlfriend again. But at the moment music is just more important. That is just number one. But when I meet the right person, then there will be also room for her in my heart!
Bravo: Comparing you to your band mates, you are really quiet in interviews Gustav: I like to be in the background. That is just my thing. But when I have an opinion about something I will say it.
Bravo: What makes you different from the other Tokio Hotel boys? Gustav: All the others have long hair. During the last tour mine was a little longer too. But it just was to much work for me. Besides, after a while they dont fit under a cap anymore (laughs)! What else makes us different? They others are bigger and sleep longer then me.
Bravo: At what time do you get up in the morning? Gustav: It happens that I am already awake at 6.30 hour. Then I just tell myself to go to sleep again. When I stay in bed till 9.30 hour I get mad at myself. You just ruined your day by sleeping. The others on the other hand like to sleep to late in afternoon!
Bravo: What cant you stand? Gustav: when someone talks to me like am 63 years old or something (laughs)!
Bravo: And what do you like? Gustav: I love the first seconds of our concert, in that few seconds you find out how much energy the crowd has!
