The following is an excerpt from an article posted by TampaBay.com:
TAMPA Today would have been Andrew Martin's 34th birthday.
The professional wrestler known as "Test" or the "Punisher" planned to leave Monday to celebrate in France, Sweden and Belgium, according to his MySpace page.
But authorities found his body Friday night at about 8 o'clock. And officers have since disclosed that they discovered prescription drugs, including painkillers and steroids, in the Harbour Place apartment.
Candice Michelle has a message for "haters" Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/17/2009 at 12:48 AM
Sidelined WWE Diva Candice Michelle has posted a new blog on the WWE Universe site and she has a lot to say.
She starts off by offering her condolences to the family and friends of former WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin, who passed away this past Friday. Candice wrote: "First and foremost I wanna offer my condolences, prayers, and love to the family and friends of Andrew "Test" Martin! This isn't an easy thing to hear about someone in our community! I had alot of respect for him and am thankful for being blessed with knowing him!"
Candice then confirms reports of her ankle injury, which has kept her sidelined the past few weeks. Candice explains how she got the injury: "I also just wanted to catch up with y'all since its been awhile since Ive been on Raw and there has been many speculations on why? Unfortunately I have been injured again! No its not my collarbone or anything in association with that! My collarbone is 100% healed! I was training really hard actually twice a day and while doing a flying punch on a bag that was held by a donut like apparatus I landed on it, rolled my ankle and fell on it! I have 2 torn ligaments one a 3rd degree sprain and the other a 2nd degree. However I'm healing really well and faster than what doctors expected! My injury was just a mishap unlike what others have heard or said, just a misfortunate event! After what I've been through I am a pro at this, haha!"
Fortunately for Candice, she is off crutches as well as her walking cast.
Candice also responds to reports going around saying her contract with WWE is set to expire in October. She says it's completely false and that she has absolutely no desire to leave the company.
"Also, people have asked me if I'm leaving the wwe or that my contract is expiring in Oct. 2009, well this is so FALSE!!! First off my contract is not expiring this year and most importantly I have NO desire to leave WWE! I am still focused and gearing up for another return!"
Candice then has some choice words for the people who doubt her, say she's injury prone, and believe her career in WWE is over.
"I have asked myself and prayed alot on why I have taken a back seat with another injury?! What I do know is what it feels like to be on the mountain top, and i know what the valley is like all to well, but i have news for all the Haters who have all these crazy reasons on why they think they know me and why my career at WWE is over...I am not unpacking my bags down in this valley but climbing out of it, even with one foot!lol! I have had a taste of the top so I know that the fight is worth it! I can preach and say x,y and z. However, this time ill just show you! I'm not too frail, injury prone, too old, nor have i lost my passion! Misfortune happens and that's what makes me stronger and builds resiliency! So just know that weather you respect me, hate me, judge me, spread false accusations about me, this is my journey and I say when its over so hear me loud and clear I'm saying "ITS NOT OVER!!"
Lastly, Candice says she doesn't have a page on FaceBook nor MySpace. She also has plans to give her official website, www.CandiceMichelle.com, a makeover so she can actually update it.
Will Ashley Massaro Be At Wrestlemania? Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/16/2009 at 01:51 PM
Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro has posted a new blog on her MySpace account (www.myspace.com/ashleymizassaro) discussing the passing of Andrew "Test" Martin as well as the Wrestlemania XXV question.
"First off I'd like to comment on the passing of Test. He was a nice guy, and I really am so sorry for his family and friends," Massaro wrote. "It's a tragedy just like the rest and you know which I'm speaking of. Always so so sad. Let's find a way to stop this madness."
As far as possible appearance at WrestleMania XXV is concerned, while she'd like to, it's not possible at this time.
"Another thing I'd like to touch on quickly is Wrestlemania. I know many of you are asking if i will be attending and participating in the 25 Diva Battle Royale and the answer unfortunately is .......no.," Massaro wrote. "I so so so wish I could be it's conflicting right now, there's nothing I'd rather do than come to mania but unfortunately it's just not possible."
Trish Stratus, who began her wrestling career managing Andrew "Test" Martin, posted a brief note on her MySpace account (myspace.com/trishstratus) regarding his passing. Stratus wrote: "Trish Stratus offers her deepest condolences to the Martin family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Andrew - you will be dearly missed."
Thanks to Gina for her help with this one. As noted a few weeks ago, former WWE Diva Tammy Sunny Sytch announced on her Facebook page that she was headed to WrestleMania 25, presumably for the 25 Divas Battle Royal. Apparently Sunny was booked for the All Star Wrestling promotions 3rd Anniversary show in Gilbert, WV on April 4th but had to pull out of the show due to the invitation to WrestleMania. Here is the letter she sent to the promoter of the indy show, Gary Damron, where she mentions training for the match at WrestleMania.
Hey Gary
Ok, Ill just tell you by e mail. Im so sorry, but I have to pull out of the show April 4th .I NEVER cancel a show unless its for a really good reason, and this time I have a really good reason
Im doing the Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania!! I got the call yesterday from Johnny Ace, and Im in the Diva Battle Royal on the show . and Ill be flying down on Friday..Im terribly sorry, but I cant pass up this chance to be seen by them again..who knows what could come of it! As far as the plane ticket is concerned, if you cancel the reservation with the airline, they will let you apply the fare towards another flight down the road, so its not money lost Ill give you a call later today, as I have a busy day of training ahead of me to prepare.
- Conspicuous by his absence at last night's Destination X pay-per-view was Kip James as he was not in the corner of The Beautiful People. According to a TNA source, there is some concern that the company will not be renewing his contract as he's said to be on the bubble. His biggest supporter in the company is longtime friend BG James, who works as an agent backstage.
- Jacqueline also didn't work last night's Destination X pay-per-view as she was not in the corner of Beer Money, Inc. for their match against Team 3D. However, the former WWE Women's Champion did appear at some house show events over the weekend. Her status with the company remains unclear, although we haven't heard anything about the company letting her go. However, several people within the company have questioned her spot with the company considering that a number of wrestler contracts were not renewed. On the other hand, she's known Jeff Jarrett for years, which should help her cause for employment.
TNA star Kevin Nash called Andrew "Test" Martin one of his ten closest friends, but he does not want to speculate that drug abuse caused of Martin's pre-mature death. Nash says he helped Martin enter WWE's rehab program.
"We were really close," Nash told Jeff Wilen in the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal. "I helped him get into rehab. WWE picked up the dollar and helped him through rehab. Andrew went in. He was doing really well, making his meetings."
Nash has his suspicions on what caused Martin's death even if he's not in a position to speculate until Tampa, Fla. officials perform an autopsy.
"The combination of muscle relaxers and pain pills are lethal," Nash suggested.
Consequences Creed suffered a bad concussion last night during the Ultimate X match at Destination X.
TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that TNA star James Storm, one half of the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, is said to be suffering from shingles and this is why he was kept off house show events this weekend. Storm was still able to work alongside Robert Roode at last nights Destination X PPV in Orlando, FL where they retained the tag team titles. He'll likely work iMPACT!/PPVs but not live events while he recovers. TNAWrestlingNews.com will also have LIVE TNA iMPACT! spoiler coverage later tonight beginning around 6EST.

- Brutus Magnus defeated Eric Young after Young answered the newcomer's open challenge. Magnus got the pin after a spinning cutter from the top rope. Following the bout, Sheik Abdul Bashir came out and questioned why he wasn't on the Pay-Per-View. As a result, Jim Cornette kicked Bashir out of the arena, but not before Cornette allowed the United States soldier that introduced Eric Young to sing "God Bless America".
- "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan defeated Abyss in the Match Of 10,000 Thumbtacks after Morgan kicked Abyss off the entrance ramp into a table filled with the thumbtacks.
- In the finals of the One Night With ODB, the TNA Knockout picked Cody Deaner as her lucky man after a dance competition between Deaner, Shark Boy and a Mr. Bernie Weber.
- Awesome Kong successfully defended the TNA Knockouts Championship against Sojo Bolt after beating Bolt with the Awesome Bomb.
- "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner defeated Samoa Joe by disqualification after Joe snapped early on in the match and assaulted the TNA referees! Although Steiner was declared the winner, Samoa Joe continued the assault after the bout, with the fight spilling outside of the arena. Later, Lauren Brooke found Joe walking away from the brawl with his weapon covered in blood, while Steiner was nowhere to be seen! Joe refused to tell Lauren where Steiner was or what he did to him!
- "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated Booker T to become the NEW TNA Legends Champion after hitting the Styles Clash on Booker for the pin! After his victory, AJ took the Legends Title into the crowd and held it above his head, as the crowd went insane around him!
- Team 3D first defeated Beer Money by disqualification in the "Off The Wagon" Challenge after James Storm used a chair. However, Jim Cornette restarted the match, leading to Beer Money losing by countout after they left the arena! 3D hit their finisher on Storm, but Robert Roode yanked him out of the ring and carried him on this back out of the arena while the referee counted the 10. Beer Money are still the reigning champions despite the loss. After the match, Team 3D got into an argument with Don West at the announce table, who was defending Beer Money's actions and actually handed Roode the tag team titles as he fled!
- Mysterious TNA newcomer Suicide became the new X Division champion on Sunday night by defeating Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in The Ultimate X Match! It was truly one of the most daredevil Ultimate X bouts in TNA history, as Suicide made an insane leap from the top of the steel structure to the center cables, knocking down the other competitors and pulling down the gold to win the championship!
- In the main event, Sting defeated Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle to successfully defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. During the bout, Angle accidentally hit Jarrett with a clothesline, knocking the special referee for a loop. Foley came in to help, but Angle hit him with a low blow and then brought a chair into the ring. Foley took the chair from Angle and went to hit him with it, but he missed and nailed Sting! However, when Angle started talking trash to Jarrett, Jarrett smashed Angle in the face, allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Deathdrop for the pin and the win as Foley and Jarrett raised Sting's arm in victory to end the event!
According to Dave Meltzer, it is being reported that Rey Mysterio may have been injured at tonight's WWE house show in Lubbock, TX. Mysterio slipped on the ropes going for his 619 finisher. The source says that Mysterio was attended to by medics for about 10 minutes before being helped to the back and it looked like he injured his left leg. It doesn't seem likely that this was an injury angle since it happened at a house show.
Val Venis (Sean Morley) wrote this on his Facebook page today:
Andrew was a VERY good long time friend who both Matt Bloom and I share many great memories. Andrew's passing is still so shocking. I am still waiting for Johnny Ace or Christian or Edge or Jericho or somebody to call me back in Japan and tell me it was all a mistake. It does not feel real. Andrew "TEST" Martin along with Matt Bloom and myself became like the three amigos as we traveled the road together and shared many great memories. Last night before our match, as Matt and I absorbed the news and tried to make sense of it all, the silence was broken with Matts words which I could not have said better myself. "You know what Val, all the friends we have lost, their deaths really sucked and saddened. But this one HURTS DEEP!"
Drew(burg), I will always remember the great times we had and the memories you provided. You will always have a special place in my heart and my life. I promise, you will never be forgotten.
SmackDown play-by-play announcer Jim Ross posted a blog on his official website remembering Andrew "Test" Martin, who was found dead in his Tampa apartment last night.
Ross is quite familiar with Martin as he hired him alongside two other Canadians in Adam "Edge" Copeland and Jay "Christian" Reso in the late 1990's.
"I hired Andrew in the same class with his other fellow Canadians Edge and Christian in the late 90's in an outstanding group of young talent whose advanced training was over seen by future WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk and by Tom Prichard," Ross wrote.
Ross recalls a conversation with Martin at WrestleMania XXIV last year in Orlando. The two spoke at length regarding his real estate endeavors and his plans to become a physical therapist. Martin also told Ross he saved his money and only wrestled "when he wanted to."
"Andrew had done well in WWE, saved his money, made some good investments, and told me he only wanted to wrestle when "he wanted to" which the randomly scheduled international tours would allow him to do," Ross wrote. "He did not express interest in the American indy scene and was genuinely excited about the prospects of the aforementioned physical therapy career."
In a bit of previously unreported news, Ross reveals that Martin took up World Wrestling Entertainment's offer to enter a rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida last August. At the suggestion of others, his former employer reached out to him to see if he needed some help handling some alleged personal issues that he was rumored to have been experiencing.
"The rumors of Andrew's issues were true and he was afforded the opportunity by WWE to attend The Hanley Center Rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida for several weeks beginning in August of 2008," Ross wrote. "Andrew successfully completed the WWE funded program and was highly regarded by the Hanley Center with being such an asset to them after completing the program of which Andrew took seriously, according to the facility. Since being released from the facility after successfully completing the program, Andrew had been doing well in his 12 Step AA program and was in contact with WWE with regular phone calls. Ironically, Friday was the day for his regularly scheduled "touching base" but when called his voice mail box was full."
It should be noted that Ross was not aware of Martin's alleged problems and stint in rehab until recently.
Ross concludes his post with the following note remembering Martin: "I will remember this young man as a bright, intelligent individual and am thankful that my last conversation with him was so positive and that he was excited about his future in a new field. Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans and may God rest his soul."
Hey all! I just got back from Tokoyo Japan. I have been to Japan several times but this was by far the best trip there for a number of reasons. First I must thank Mr. Aso who treated me beyond first class and is a total gentleman as well as a great human being himself. My trip there was first class all the way. Thanks to Mr. Ena for making my flight the best flight I had ever been on. Mr. Aso flew me first class on United airlines who I must thank the ladies on board, who kept feeding me steak and chicken every two hours. It ended up being about a 24 hour travel day. When I landed I was greeted by Mr. Yabe another kind and stand up man. We chatted for a bit and waited for Vader. For those of you who do not know Leon (Vader) he is a total gentleman. I met Leon about ten years ago when I was training at Brets house he was kind to me then and was nothing but a gentleman to me now and we became good friends on this trip. Leon is a stand up guy and I want to thank him as well for a wonderfull trip. Mr. Aso put us up in the Keio Plaza hotel which is one of the nicest hotels in tokoyo. I want to thank Mr.Tiger Kihara who is one of the funniest guys I have met and a master at wrestling impressions and kept me laughing the whole time. Thanks to Golds gym who took great care of me there. I worked my first match with Lance Hoyt. Lance is green but has a lot of promise and under the right guidance can have a great match because he is a good athlete. He needs to be in the WWE were I think he could learn and reach full potential...thanks Lance. My second match was with a Japanese shooter named Nagai{hopefully I spelled that right} A totally diferant style but we had a great match together. He works almost as stiff as I do...lol. I was very humbled by the reception from the Japanese fans. The Japanese people are so respectfull you can't help but love it there. I loved Japan for so many reasons and hope to makee it my wrestling home. Japan is so beautifull and full of things to do, I could see myself living there it was that much fun. Thanks again to Mr. Aso your a real gentleman and number one in my books. On March 16th, I will be heading to Europe for two weeks in France, Sweden and Belgum. This is with the crew from Ireland. These guys hold a special place in my heart because they stuck by me when I was going thru some hard times and we all ended up becoming good friends. Great guys and fantastic people to work for, from Martin, to Mick, Joe, Jamie, Grant, Patty, Justin Shape, Lizzy, Anne, Ken, the whole crew are just great and I'm looking forward to this trip. That's all for now..talk to you soon Andrew

The two broke up sometime last year, but remained friends.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - This week on SmackDown, undertakings of intense redemption, matrimonial fallout, extreme family dysfunction, triumph teamwork in defense of gold, and qualification against all odds all served as hazard signs on the epic road to the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.
Undertaker def. Vladimir Kozlov (WATCH | PHOTOS) After shocking the WWE Universe by getting pinned by The Moscow Mauler two weeks ago, The Deadman redeemed himself with absolute fury, crushing Vladimir Kozlovs undefeated record on SmackDown with the destructive force of his Tombstone Piledriver. The decisive victory gives The Phenom a firestorm of momentum in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, and echoes his haunting message to opponent Shawn Michaels that it can be hell trying to get to heaven. (Match preview)
World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. Kofi Kingston (Non-title) (WATCH | PHOTOS) An emotionally affected Rated-R Superstar resurfaced for the first time since John Cena revealed security footage on Monday Night Raw of his wife - SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero - kissing Big Show. And from the moment Edge entered the ring, he seemed distracted, as if his thoughts were completely consumed by the state of his marriage and his WrestleMania opponents in the World Heavyweight Championship Triple Treat Match (Match preview). Kofi Kingston, however, only had revenge on his mind after The Ultimate Opportunists attack at No Way Out that cost him his Elimination Chamber spot and allowed Edge to capture the title. But despite the determined Raw Superstars thirst for retribution and an extremely hard fought match, Edges sharpshooter was Ja-makin Kofi crazy enough to tap out.
Matt Hardy Tells All (WATCH | PHOTOS) After referencing Jeff Hardy's suspension and alluding to the fact that he may have caused the awful events that have continued the black cloud hanging over Jeff Hardys head the stairwell attack and the car and pyrotechnics accidents an incensed Matt Hardy produced from his pocket the burned dog collar of Jack, Jeffs dog that died in his house fire. Without music or fireworks paving the way for his entrance, Jeff made a subdued, yet determined entrance. Before long, Jeff finally gave in and attacked Matt with reckless abandon. Although Matt looked as if he might show some remorse in that instant, the traces of a menacing smile crept on his lips as he walked up the metal ramp, implying otherwise. Later, the shocking announcement rang forth that Jeff and Matt Hardy will settle sibling rivalry at WrestleMania. (Match preview)
World Tag Team Championship The Miz & John Morrison def. WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo (World Tag Team Championship Match) (WATCH | PHOTOS) Two weeks after The Colon brothers successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Championships against Miz & Morrison, the Dirt Sheet duo returned the favor in spades. As both Primo and Miz were being taken out of the action, The Shaman of Sexy took full advantage of the turmoil, hitting Carlito with the Moonlight Drive for the win. After the match, the Bella Twins once again abandoned the WWE Champions and left with the victors.
Finlay def. The Brian Kendrick (Money in the Bank Qualifying Match) (WATCH | PHOTOS) Despite being sucker punched by Ezekiel Jackson before the opening bell and falling prey to his numerous distractions thereafter, Finlay ultimately denied The Brain Kendrick his finishing maneuver of the same name. And after The Belfast Brawler powered his way over The Kendrick with the quick and painful Celtic Cross, Finlay stood in triumph, knowing that he had captured the last coveted spot in the WrestleMania Money in the Bank Ladder Match. (Match preview)
United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Chavo Guerrero def. Montel Vontavious Porter & R-Truth (Tag Team Match) (PHOTOS) The tension surrounding the United States Championship has been reaching epic proportions over the past couple months. And it only promises to become more intense during the weeks to come. After The Ballin Superstar threw the interfering Chavo Guerrero from the ring, The Gold Standard struck with Pay Dirt, allowing him to reign supreme over his fellow WrestleMania Money in the Bank participant (Match preview).
Womens Champion Melina & Maria def. Divas Champion Maryse & Michelle McCool (Divas Tag Team Match) (PHOTOS) Any time an athlete of Womens Champion Melinas caliber visits SmackDown to team with Maria against Divas Champion Marie and Michelle, the WWE Universe has to expect the unexpected. But when Michelle wouldnt extend her arm to tag into the match, Maryse got more than she bargained for, falling to Melina and her inside cradle. After the bell, Maryse and Michelle decided to keep the action going, brawling in a whirlwind of Diva brutality.
