- Doug Williams, who currently works as trainer at Ohio Valley Wrestling, TNA Wrestling's developmental promotion, suffered an arm injury while competing at last Wednesday's OVW television taping. After stating that he may have suffered a partially torn bicep at worst, he noted Monday, "Arm getting better. Can lock it out again now if I do so slowly..."
The show opens up with highlights of last weeks Survival of the Fittest match between Adam Cole and Tadarius Thomas, which saw Cole pick up the win to advance to the Survival of the Fittest Finals.
Mike Bennett w/ Maria and Brutal Bob vs Davey Richards
Richards immediately kicks Bennett in the head and goes for a roll-up, but Bennett kicks out. Richards continues the hot start with a clothesline and an ankle lock, however Bennett reaches the ropes. Bennett rolls to the outside. Richards tries to run along the apron and kick Bennett, but The Prodigy pulls Maria in front of him. Richards chases Bennett around ringside, and Brutal Bob gets involved by punching Richards in the face. Richards and Bennett brawl around ringside. Back in the ring, Richards mocks Maria while he has Bennett in the Indian Death Lock. On the outside, Bennett spinebusters Richards against the corner of the apron as the show goes to break.
Back from commercial and Bennett is still in control as he hits a clothesline. They slug it out in the middle of the ring. Bennett gets the better of the exchange with a superkick. Richards clotheslines Bennett to the outside and then immediately connects with a suicide dive. They fight on the apron, and Richards misses a kick and hits the ring post. Bennett takes advantage of the situation with a spear on the apron. Richards is able to fight back and apply the ankle lock. Bennett fights out of it and sends Richards into the ropes where Maria slaps him. Mondo runs to ringside and sexually assaults Maria. Bennett chases Mondo to the back. When Bennett gets back in the ring hes met with the alarm clock and a sliding kick, which is enough for Richards to pick up the three count and advance to the Survival of the Fittest Finals.
Winner by Pinfall: Davey Richards
ROHWorld.coms Thoughts: This was a fine way to start the show. I dont remember these two ever squaring off, and if they have its been a rare occurrence. They showed tremendous chemistry here and it made for a very good match. Bennett always looks good when hes in the ring with talented performers, and Richards is more than capable of having good matches with anyone. Other than the Mondo interference, this was a great way to start the show. The interference did leave Bennett looking pretty good, though, as he was in control until Mondo distracted him. They are two-for-two thus far in delivering really good opening round matches for this years Survival of the Fittest.
Kevin Kelly says Tommaso Ciampa is scheduled to face Jay Lethal in a Survival of the Fittest match and he explains Ciampaa injury from Boiling Point. Kelly says RD Evans has promised Ciampa will wrestle tonight.
Evans and Ciampa come to the ring, and Ciampa is on crutches. Evans says Ciampa suffered a torn ACL and meniscus at Boiling Point. Evans says Ciampa proved he was a warrior; a gladiator; a thoroughbred. Evans says you know what you do with thoroughbreds with broken legs; you shoot them. He introduces his new client: QT Marshall. Ciampa comes close to hitting the Project Ciampa on Evans but stops when he sees Marshall coming to the ring. Evans hits Ciampa from behind on the bad knee with Ciampas crutch. Marshall beats down Ciampa using the crutch.
QT Marshall w/ RD Evans vs Jay Lethal
Lethal hits a superkick the moment the bell rings. He quickly follows it up with a springboard dropkick and suicide dive! Lethal looks to be setting up another suicide dive, but Marhsall cuts him off with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Marshall goes for a pin, but the referee catches him with his feet on the ropes. A springboard crossbody and handspring back elbow momentarily gives Lethal the advantage, but Marshall answers back with a clothesline. Lethal hits a superkick out of nowhere and connects with the Lethal Combination. Evans distracts Lethal, but Prince Nana runs in and attacks Evans. Lethal hits the Lethal Injection to pick up the pinfall to advance to the finals of Survival of the Fittest.
Winner by Pinfall: Jay Lethal
ROHWorld.coms Thoughts: This was Marshalls best showing in Ring of Honor by far. If he is able to keep giving performances like this, he will stick around for a while. However he wont always get to wrestle someone as talented as Lethal, so Im going to have to see more out of Marshall before I begin to get too excited out of what I see from him. I was pleasantly surprised by this match.
Its now time for Inside ROH. We see a clip of last weeks match between the BJ Express and Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team. Rhett Titus says hes the guy whos going to surprise everyone and take Kevin Steens World Title. We now see a clip of last weeks segment featuring Steen and Michael Elgin. Truth Martini says there is a plot against the House of Truth because Rhino and Elgin have to face each other in the Survival of the Fittest, and he asks either Rhino or Elgin to back out. Elgin and Strong talk about how they dont like Martini.
ROH World Title Kevin Steen w/ Jimmy Jacobs (c) vs. Rhett Titus w/ BJ Whitmer
Steve Corino is on commentary and says after Steen punched a fan at Boiling Point he is not allowed at the affiliates dinner, and if Steen shows up he will be arrested.
Titus takes the fight to Steen when Steen is making his entrance. In the ring, Titus connects with a dropkick and follows it up with a dive over the top rope. Steen hits a rope-assisted elevated DDT, which gets a two count. Steen ties Titus in the Tree of Woe and hits the cannonball. Titus fights back with a big boot and clothesline combination. Steen pulls Titus to the outside and hits a pop-up powerbomb onto the ring apron. Back in the ring, Steen tries for a moonsault but Titus moves out of the way. Jimmy Jacobs tries to hit Titus with the spike but Whitmer stops him. Titus grabs the spike and tries to use it on Steen. Todd Sinclair stops him and this gives Steen the opportunity to hit a superkick. Steen follows it up with the F-Cinq and he gets the pin to retain the ROH World Title.
Monday's Raw Rating and Viewership News Posted by Steve Carrier on 10/16/2012 at 06:58 PM
This week's WWE Raw drew a 2.79 rating and averaged 3.99 million viewers for the 3-hour show. Raw did hours of, 4.07 million, 4.01 million and 3.89 million.
WWE pushed the "main event" Hell in a Cell contract signing and the announcement of Punk's opponent throughout the show, so the third hour falling off once again is not a great sign.
Another Update on Miz's Status for WWE Tapings Posted by Steve Carrier on 10/16/2012 at 08:19 PM
The Miz was cleared to return to the ring this afternoon following a second concussion test. The Miz tested negative for a concussion, so he's really lucky as he took a hell of a kick from Kofi Kingston last night.
WWE uploaded a video with Dr. Michael Sampson updating the condition of The Miz. Sampson confirmed earlier reports that Miz underwent evaluation backstage at Raw. He also required sutures to close a laceration to his head.
- As noted earlier, The Miz is scheduled to undergo more tests this afternoon to determine whether he would be able to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston at tonight's WWE Main Event tapings. As of this morning, one person believed that he didn't suffer a concussion, only a head laceration. WWE is still promoting the match on their website and social networking as of this writing.

Raw this week is live from Nashville and we kick things off with a re-cap of last weks main event. We see a graphic of a tweet by CM Punk from earlier today. Big Show comes out and says 2 weeks ago he was in this very ring for a debate which was a clever joke put together by Booker T and Sheamus to make him look like a fool. But it was the WWE Universe who looked like fools. Everyone says he should watch out for The Brogue Kick then showed footage of what happened last week when Sheamus tried to Brogue Kick a giant. The look on his face was that of someone who was way in over his head. Then on Smackdown yet another scientific challenge. Brogue Kick vs KO Punch. He didnt want to participate he didnt want to embarrass Sheamus. Show says in 2 weeks he wont be punching a machine, hell be punching the World Heavyweight Champion and he will become the new world champion. The largest world heavyweight champion in the world. He says hes going to correct that mistake tonight. Show then asks for Daniel Bryan. One match, one knock out punch to erase his 45 second embarrassment. Backstage, AJ forces Daniel Bryan to go out to the ring and Kane laughs at him and he begins shouting NO and all the superstars in the back keep yelling YES

Punk comes out. Punk takes the mic and says last week was a perfect microcosm of what his life has become. Somebody acts out of turn and questions his integrity and he doesnt care who it is.. If anyone disrespects him verbally or physically, he will put them down. Last week it was Vince McMahons turn. He disrespected Punk and Punk slapped him in the face. He victimized McMahon in a way he feels comfortable letting the WWE Universe know that he will never compete in the ring again. It took two superstars to save him and then he forces Punk to decide who he will be facing at HIAC. Punk then shows the poster for HIAC and asks if the WWE Universe think hes the devil but comparatively speaking, to the WWE Universe hes an angel. He then talks about the devil he knows and doesnt know. First is the devil he doesnt know, Ryback. Who inserted himself in a conversation he has no part of. Then theres the devil he knows very well. John Cena. So who will he choose? Punk then unveils the canvass. Punk then says since the fans are being disrespectful, hes going to take a little more time. As reported Saturday, WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race and his former protégé in World Championship Wrestling, Vader, engaged in a physical altercation at that day's "Legends of the Ring" convention in Monroe, New Jersey. According to Rob Feinstein, who witnessed the scuffle, tensions escalated after Race voiced his disapproval with Vader behaving belligerent toward fans.
Feinstein wrote on Facebook, "Vader was in a foul mood the entire day which is typical of him. He started to talk nasty to a few fans and Race did not approve. Race told Vader not to disrespect the fans as they are paying to see them. Vader made a smart ass comment which pissed Harley off. Harley who is crippled now struck Vader in the head with a punch. Vader when to strike back but instead hit a promoter who was standing near by. The promoter from what I told had to get a ice pack and Vader walked out of the room. That was basically how it went down and I am shocked that Vader would do that in front of the fans. I was waiting for Orndorff to do a run in."

onto Roode and the tacks. Equally freaking nuts! Roode kicked up at two, even
after all that.
Roode had tacks embedded in his arm and up and down his
back. He went to the outside for a six pack of beer bottles. He went to nail
Storm with one but was low blowed (legal due to the stips). Storm grabbed a
beer, drank it and smashed a bottle over Roode's head. Storm pulled an "out of
it" Roode to his feet, then nailed the Last Call superkick. Roode took ANOTHER

Good match. They worked hard
and had a decent back and forth match. It's nuts how much Tessmacher has worked
to improve in recent months. Tara seemed really motivated here.
Tara said
that she bets everyone did this for her but she did it for her sweet Hollywood
boyfriend. She said that we've probably seen him on TMZ and said he was bigger
than George and Leonardo and Brad Pitt. It was Jesse Godderz from Big Brother,
who has been training in OVW.

Adam Copeland No Longer Edge Posted by Steve Carrier on 10/13/2012 at 02:51 PM
- Adam Copeland stated during a radio interview in his native Ontario, Canada that he is no longer permitted to use the Edge name for public appearances since he is no longer affiliated with WWE.
For me, Edge was just a character. I never introduced myself as (Edge). I never really worried about what people can advertise me as. It doesnt really matter to me. Ive always just introduced myself as Adam Copeland. I never really thought too much about it, Copeland said in the interview.
I think if I would have wrestled another five or seven years, I would have regrets. At this point, the rest of my body feels great. Once I get the surgery and they take the pressure off of my spinal cord, Im going to feel like a million bucks. I feel better than most wrestlers my age; most of those guys are walking like Boris Karloff, while I'm able to run laps! I kind of look at it and go, 'Yeah, I think this happened for a reason.' From a physical standpoint, this is the healthiest I've ever felt."
Tara

Knockout, Tara, real name Lisa Marie Varon, has praised TNA creative team
member, Dave Lagana, for the recent upswing in the Knockouts division.
In an exclusive interview with Diva Dirt, Tara, who
will face Brooke for the title at Bound for Glory tonight, credits Lagana, who
has also worked in WWE and Ring of Honor, for the strong storyline between her
and Knockout champion Brooke Tessmacher.
I think thats a testament to
Dave Lagana, she says. I think Lagana took us, the girls division, under his
wing and hes really been putting a lot of thought [in it], not just throwing us
out there to have a two minute match.
Tara continues: We have a good
creative staff now Bruce Prichard, Eric Bischoff, Dave Lagana. We have a good
team. Its exciting. [...] They see how well the ratings are excelling, and how
valuable the Knockouts are. Im thankful that we have Dave Lagana.

WWE Superstars 10/11/12 Review:
So what did this reviewer think as he watched WWE Superstars for October 11th 2012? This show was light on wrestling action, but the two matches that they had really did make up for it. Of course, they have been matches that we have seen on WWE Superstars in the past, but still it was the thought that counted.
Wade Barrett went one on one with Tyson Kidd in our first match. I remembered loving this match when it happened last time, and the return match really did hold up to standards. Kidds 2011-2012 matches on NXT and Superstars really would make the most awesome DVD set ever. Granted only ten people will buy it, but those ten people will get some quality wrestling. Given Wade Barrett is somewhat pushed, he gets the win.
Antonio Cesaro and Justin Gabriel step into the ring for your quality main event match. Cesaro really shows that he can fit in any style in the world. Gabriel is always fun in the ring. As a result, we get a well worked main event on WWE Superstars. The conclusion is foregone, with Cesaro picking up the win with the Neutralizer.
The rest of the show were RAW recaps featuring CM Punk and Mr. McMahon.
Overall, WWE Superstars was a solid show this week. Two good matches were featured and neither of them were bad.

Rhett wants Cruise to get the match sanctioned also. Cruise then gets a message in his earpiece from Jim Cornette, who says that if all 3 men want the match, then they can have it so the match is official.
Haas: "Hey idiot, you gotta be stupid if you wanna fight us and you don't even have a partner, you moron".

"Inside Ring of Honor"
The 1st topic is the continued problems between Mike Bennett & Mike Mondo concerning Mondo's infatuation with Bennett's girlfriend, Maria Kanellis. We go to video as Veda Scott interviews Maria about Mondo.
Maria: "Just hearing his (Mondo's) name makes me want to vomit". "He's disgusting and creepy and a pervert that's been stalking me, he's slimy and.....but, my boyfriend, Mike Bennett, has promised me he is gonna take care of him, cuz I never want to be around Mike Mondo again".
All of a sudden, we see Mondo creep up behind Maria.
Mondo: "SURPRISE!!!!"
Maria shrieks as Mondo grabs her arm when she tries to slap him.
Mondo: "MARIA, how you doing?" "I made your boyfriend a promise, I made you a promise too". "Say, how does it feel to get kissed by a REAL MAN?"
Mondo then kisses Maria once again.
Mondo: "BOOM, YEAHHH!!!" "That's what I'm talkin' about". "Hey, tell your boyfriend I've been lookin' for him". "Vedaaaaaaaaaaa, Veda".
The next topic is Jay Lethal's match with Davey Richards at "Glory by Honor XI" this Saturday. We see video of some of Richards' comments from "Death Before Dishonor X" before we go to video of comments from Lethal.
Lethal: "Davey Richards, in Toronto, Canada, its me vs. you". "And if this was any other time, we'd shake each other's hands and have a great wrestling contest and maybe I would win, maybe you would win, but now its different, Davey, because I must win, I have to win, I will win". "Davey, you're a former World champion, you've had the opportunity of a lifetime and you've lost it". "I'm out to prove that same opportunity, Davey, I will not crumble, I will not fail, I will be the man who stands tall". "That is why, Davey, in Toronto, Canada, I promise, I will defeat you".
The final topic is that one of next week's scheduled Survival of the Fittest qualifying matches is scheduled to be Jay Lethal vs. Tomasso Ciampa. However, Ciampa was injured against Lethal at "Boiling Point" in August and its unclear if he can compete. However, Barrister RD Evans has something to say about this.
Evans: "Indeed, Tomasso Ciampa did suffer an injury at "Boiling Point". "But, as the embodiment of the principles of "Survival of the Fittest", he toughed it out for 3 falls". "And now, here we stand at the precipice of the "Survival of the Fittest" tournament and it is far too important for a minor injury to keep me...hmmmm.. to keep us from succeeding". "Don't believe the rumors, my man will compete at "Survival of the Fittest".

Corino grabs the mic away from Kelly before Kelly can say a word.
Corino: "Kevin Kelly, as your TRUE partner in color commentating, I'm gonna ask you to leave and I'm going to conduct this interview with the ROH World Champion, KEVIN STEENNNNNN!!!"
"Now Kevin, you've asked for this time, you didn't discuss it with me and Jimmy and we are waiting with baited breath, what do you have to say?"
Steen: "What I have to say is quite simple". "I will put my Ring of Honor title on the line against "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin".
Crowd cheers for Elgin.
"Yeah, you like him, eh?" "You like Elgin a little bit?" "That's very unfortunate for you". "And that's exactly why I'm out here, I have some things to tell Mr. Elgin". "So, uh, if you can please join us , that'd be lovely".
The House of Truth's music as Elgin makes his way to the ring with Truth Martini in tow.
Martini: "Kevin Steen, SHOOSH, just SHOOSH". "Nobody here wants to hear what you have to say". "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin, he agrees with me that everything that is coming out of your mouth is a bunch of hoopla".
Elgin grabs the mic away from Martini.
Elgin: "Truth, the only hoopla I'm hearing is your voice". "But, I'm not out here for that". "Kevin, I'm out here because you had something to tell me face-to-face". "Truth is, I have something you need to know as well". "But, I'm a man of few words, Kevin, and lately you seem to be a man of so many, so I'm gonna let you say what you have to say, and I'll say what I have to say after".
Steen: "I called you out here to tell you 3 things". "Number 1, I don't like you". "Now, I'll explain why I don't like you in a second, but before we step into the ring with each other October 13th, I think you need to think about a little something".
The crowd chants "Hug it out".
Steen: "Absolutely not".
"When we stand in that ring in Toronto, I will have Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino, two men I can trust, the current Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions, by my side". "But you, I see Truth Martini over here, but uh, Roderick Strong is not here, Rhino is not here, where's the House of Truth, bud?' "You say you don't need anybody, fine, now let's get to why I don't like you very much". "I came back to Ring of Honor for 2 reasons, I wanna kill this company, but I also want to steal the show every single night". "And I believe that the general rule of thumb is that I do". "But, in Florida a few months ago, you wrestled Davey Richards and that night, you stole the show".
Crowd cheers for Elgin.
Steen: "Yeah, let's give him a little round of applause, I'm a man, I can admit when somebody steals the show, but that's the part that I don't like". "I don't like when people steal the show, I don't like when people take my spotlight and let me tell you something, Elgin, that one night in Florida is NOTHING compared to the 6 years that I have spent, pouring my heart and soul to get this (holds up the ROH Title)". "On October 13, in YOUR hometown, you might have the entire city of Toronto behind you, but it will not matter, because I will walk out of Toronto the same way I did on May 12th, as Ring of Honor World Champion and you know why?"
"BECAUSE I, NOT YOU, I AM UNBREAKABLE, I AM UNBEATABLE, BECAUSE I AM KEVIN STEEN AND I AM THE BEST DAMN THING IN PRO WRESTLING TODAY!"
Elgin: "Now you're done, I was gonna tell you, actions speak louder than words".
Elgin attacks Steen, then fights off Corino & Jacobs. However, Steen nails Elgin with the ROH Title belt and then S.C.U.M. begins the beatdown of Elgin. Roderick Strong comes out to the rampway, but then just stands there and does nothing while Martini is begging him to help. Finally, the Guardians of Truth & Rhino come out and clear the ring of S.C.U.M. as we go to commercial.
