Football Manager 2007s greatest achievement - and the most compelling reason to buy it - is the incomparably immersive world it creates. You find yourself oohing at big money transfers between other clubs, you feel good when one of your players praises you up and you develop personal rivalries with other managers and clubs, making you actively and emotionally involved in the whole experience. There are very few games that can generate that level of involvement and its for this reason Football Manager 2007 cannot be beat. Just be prepared for a serious lack of social life after its installed on your hard drive. -IGN : 8.6 readers average-
P.S.: Het is wel een vrij droog speleke en is heeeel moeilijk in het begin
Last year's Star Wars: Empire at War seemed like a surefire hit. The gang at Petroglyph managed to translate the popular Star Wars franchise into a real-time strategy format, recapturing the magic and appeal of all those backyard action figure wars we fought as kids. Though we loved the overall presentation of the game -- specifically the fact that it really felt like Star Wars -- we were less than enthused by the predictability of the combats, both in terms of the limited unit rosters and the tiny, straightforward maps.
Today the team has released a brand new expansion pack, Forces of Corruption, that not only builds on their previous successes but also remedies many of the problems we had with the original game. While it's no surprise that the game's fans are hungry for more content, the expansion pack is good enough to attract gamers who passed on the original based on our earlier criticism. -IGN reating: 8.5 -
The new expansion pack builds off of the real-time-strategy gameplay of the original, providing players with the ability to lead one of three proud Native American civilizations, including the Iroquois Confederation, to expand their empire and fight for control of the Americas. The game provides new ways to play and win, introducing new gameplay elements and content including new civilizations, a new single player campaign, Home City enhancements and additional maps and units. Additional content is also added to all existing European civilizations as well. - IGN score : 8.2-
P.S.: Heel leuk om eens met de roodhuiden te spelen
Age of Empires III offers gamers the next level of realism, with advanced battle physics and unparalleled visual detail. The new game picks up where Age of Empires II: Age of Kings left off, placing gamers in the position of a European power determined to explore, colonize and conquer the New World. This time period features stunning scenes, from towering European cathedrals to courageous tribes of Native Americans, and spectacular combat with Industrial Age units like rifled infantry, cavalry and tall ships bristling with cannons. In addition to technology upgrades, Age of Empires III also features a slew of new game-play elements, including the concept of a "Home City," new civilizations, units, technologies and an immersive new single-player campaign that spans three generations. -IGN score : 8.6-
Last summer, Simbin released GTR for the PC, and it was good. Now, almost a year and a half later, we have been blessed with the sequel, GTR 2. Once you've successfully modeled a particular sport, it is no longer a great mystery what the content of the game will be. After all, we've gone through countless of iterations of Madden NFL, all simulating what is basically the same real life sport. Similarly, at first glance, it is hard to see what has changed from last year in GTR 2. But as is the case with Madden, it's the small new features and improvements in technology that keep us coming back year after year as the game creeps closer and closer to achieving realism.
P.S.: Zeer Realistische racegame voor op de de PC ( dus niet voor de arcade racers )
