The Belgium national football team is a team of footballers representing Belgium since 1904 in international competitions. The Belgian Team is nicknamed the Red Devils which was invented by Pierre Walckiers in 1906. Our northern neighbors are our biggest rival, they are called the Dutch team. The majority of home games are played at the Koning Boudewijn Stadium in Brussels.
The coach is Roberto Martinez and the captain Eden Hazard. Vincent Kompany was the captain of the team since 2011 till 2015, but he is injured now so Eden Hazard is replacing him.
The greatest achievements of the Belgian team so far has been a gold medal at the Olympics in 1920, a second place at the European Championship in 1980, fourth place at the 1986 World Championships and six consecutive participations in world championships between 1982 and 2002.
Other significant achievements are four wins against then reigning world champions: 2-0 against West Germany in 1954, 5-1 against Brazil in 1963, 1-0 against Argentina in 1982 and 2-1 against France in 2002.
Jan Ceulemans has 96 caps which is the Belgian international record. The top scorer title is shared by Bernard Voorhoof and Paul Van Himst, they both have made 30 goals for the national team. Adidas is the clothing sponsor of our national team.
