My little sunshine 7 years old Sarah came back from school, she was very up set, pale and terrified! i asked her what happened? she said "i do not want to be a slave momy! i do not want to go to school any more. "That clicked me, teacher has told her class about the news of Boko Haram.I hug her and told her" no body can make you a slave darling Because your mom is with you and you have a strong mom! (with my trampling heart). in her soft little voice she asked me "why the Nigerian moms are not so strong as you? why they did not save their daughters?
the question locked my jaws, i could not answer her.
In the depth of my heart I cried out and said darling you do not know how horrible world you have around you and you are forced to live upon it. At least you have opportunity to go to school. you have food every day. you have good place to sleep.Mostly in the remote areas of Nigeria there are no schools. 40 % of Nigerian kids aged 6 to 14 do not attend the school. According to the unicef any primary school with in Northern region recording the lowest school attendance rate in the country.Particularly for girls.Despite of Unicef and Nigerian governments efforts the enrollment rate in the recent years has increased, but still 4.7 million children of primary school age are still not in the schools.
its not rare to see cases of 100 pupils per teacher, students sitting under the trees outside the school buildings , because of the lake of class rooms. In the North particularly another challenge is girls education!! the gender gap remains wider the ratio of girls in school is 1 to 2, means 1 girl and 2 boys.
in many states it is 1 to 3 as well.
many children do not attend the schools Because Their labor is needed either in the household or to support the family financially.30 cent of the pupils drop out of primary school and only 54 per cent of transit to junior secondary high school.
within these poor standards Nigerian girls were trying to educate themselves and struggling for their Rights, Suddenly we have a news extremist religious fundamentalist Boko Haram kidnapped 300 girls from school in the North of Nigeria, a village named chibok. And he sent a video message that soon he would be selling the girls as slaves.
i can just imagine if your child is away from your eyes for few minutes and you do not know where he or she is these few minutes are more painful and heavier than centuries!!
how parents and the guardians are going through can only be best imagined.
Approximately it is more than four weeks but Their are Not such a big action taken against Boko Haram.Neither there are any visible efforts are seen by international community to join hands to search the girls.
According to Frida Ghitis "if it had happened any where else in the world, this would be the world's biggest story" According to her the girls are mostly between the age of 16 to 18. The girls were kidnapped in the middle of the night and were taken in to the deep jungle. the last report from the people living around the forest say Boko Haram fighters are sharing the girls. conducting mass marriages.and selling the girls to eachother for only 12 dollars.
wait! who is Boko Haram? Boko Haram is a Salafist jihadi organization and allies of Al _Qaeda, leaded by Abu Bakr shekau, Abatcha Flatari, Mohammad Yusuf and some others. the same repellent and horrendous crimes are taking place in Syria, Yemen and many other countries in the form of sexual jihad or rape or murders by the same ideology in the name of religion.
Fathers eyes are waiting for Their beloved daughters and mothers are waiting for Their sunshines!!!
please raise your voice from any plateforme to save these girls!
